R9 Nano or Rx 580 2048sp for CS2? I play at 720p. I own both of these already. Just a matter of testing them but I am waiting for parts.

Hi there I'm looking for some guidance, I watched the LTT on old GPUs in today's world using amernime zone and wondered what would be the correct download for the AMD Radeon R9 290? I've tried with some to no avail and I'm looking to see if I have; 1 the right download and 2 if I'm installing it correctly. Any install guides would be greatly appreciated also. Thank you for your time

Hey there! I've gamed with my GTX 1050 TI for a long time, then I got a R9 280x and started gaming with it because it gives me more FPS. But now I got a problem, my computer just doesn't boot anymore with the GPU, it only does if I remove the two PCI cables from the GPU and plug the HDMI cable to the motherboard integrated video card. However, I can still get into the BIOS, but with I little screen bug as you can see in the attached images. My computer specs: CPU - Intel Pentium G4560 Ram - 12GB PSU - Bluecase gamer 500W GPU - AMD Radeon 9 280x MSI Motherboard - ASRock H110m-HG4 I thought it could be the PSU, but the GPU worked for few days before it stops. By the way, I'm using the GPU UEFI Bios. Do you guys have an idea of what is the problem and how can I fix it?

Whats up everyone? I have been using CTR 2.1 for a few months. I attempted overclocking on my own with my old 3700x, but just couldn't get it down. All youtube videos seemed to be too specific to motherboard manufacture and BIOS tools, that were never the same as my Gigabyte (Aorus Elite Wifi). I got CTR back then and it got my 3700x to 4.375 which I never was able to even HIT on my own or with PBO. After some months of trying, I got a 5900x and swapped it, and after much more tinkering was able to get it to work with my 5900x. I am getting about 4.5 and boosting for longer up to about 4.8. I was hoping to get to 4.9 or higher, but I just don't know how to get it there, and don't want to mess anything up. My cooler is the NZXT x63 280mm AIO. So all of that said, I am trying to find out if anyone has experience with Windows 11 and CTR 2.1. I have hit up Linus on Twitter as well as Jay and Gamers Nexus, but nobody will cover the 1usmus software, which is obviously their prerogative. I am hoping to find out if I am wasting my time trying to run this program with Windows 11 and 5900x, or if I should be trying to use Ryzen Master to achieve a higher clock on the CPU. If anyone knows of a professional or well layed out video for overclocking on Gigabyte BIOS with Ryzen 5900 or any 5000 series, I would be interested to find it. Or if anyone has personal experience with overclocking using these pieces of software. P.S.: I love you. edit 1: added a few words to make sense of a sentence

Hello, I am looking to put an AMD GPU in a Dell Precision M6700 or Zbook 17 G2 or similar. All these PCs have MXM 3.0 Type B. I am looking for 4GB GPU BY AMD THAT IS NOT FIREPRO. Preferably along the lines of R9 M395X/M295X or M390X. I am having a really hard time finding these in the USA. Any help or links would appreciated! Thanks in advance! P.S a 4GB 980M or RX 480M would also work. Volvo240.

Hello everyone, So it's been around 5 years that I am using this power hungry card and living in city like Mumbai (India) with humid temps ranging from 33C - 22C. After all these years the middle fan of the three is deciding to give up and has started to make rattling noise. I followed some video tutorials which included taking the fans apart and greasing/oiling the bearing. It did work and the fan stopped making noise but resumes again after a couple of days and then I have to take the fan apart and oil it again. So I was thinking of strapping 2x120mm fans to the heat sink with zip ties and I know it runs pretty well after that. (Even with good improvements) But I am confused with the whole Static vs Airflow thingy and don't understand if I am choosing the right fans. I have 2x120mm front intake, 1x120mm exhaust top with a stocky ryzen 3600 cooler (which will be replaced in some time with a Deepcool Gammax v2) Cabinet is Thermaltake Versa N27 and I have removed the HDD cages for better lower airflow. There is around 8-10cm of gap between the gpu and psu. The fan I chose: CM Sickeflow 120mm RGB which come in at 9USD approx (total of 18USD) which give 62 CFM ± 10% and run on 650-1800 RPM ± 10% I know people opt for Noctua but the only ones available here are the Noctua NF F12 industrialPPC-2000 PWM which i know are good but cost 21USD and thus 2 of these would cost 42 USD which is way more I can think of. Can anyone please tell me if I am making the right choice here? Due to global shortages. The options are really limited and the other ones I could go for are the Arctic P12 for 11USD but no warranty mentioned on amazon. There are no other options that I can probably go for which offer a good amount of airflow with higher than 1500 rpms. Thanks in advance.

In short; I have an R9 280, and it regularly heats up to 85c under load playing games like BeamNG, Warframe, Risk of Rain at high settings even though I have my side panel open. I know it's an R9 series GPU, but I'm not sure whether to worry or not. I'm also wondering if it will make a difference if I got a bigger case, since I'm getting one anyway.

Guys.. I brought R9 3900X couple of days ago and after completing my assembly I monitored the CPU temp in HWmoniter and Ryzen Master. In PC stay in Idle it shows around 45-55 C and 100% load shows 90-95C temp in stock cooler. When I enter to my ASUS B450 TUF Gaming Plus bios the CPU temp Show 63 -67 C Is above scenario being ok or need to make changes? and any guidance for solve this problem?

Hello guys, I'm looking for help on an issue I'm having, I recently bought a Sapphire R9 390 (I don't know if it's the 390 or 390x ) 8GB graphics card (I bought it for $100 locally because I was looking for a cheap GPU while I get a RTX 3080 or 6800XT) The guy that sell me the card try it in front of me and the card worked perfectly but when I put in in my PC I doesn't work, I have no video signal of any of the ports (except for DVI I haven't tried that one because I don't have a neither a DVI cable or monitor I've tried on 2 different displays: 1. LG 34UC80-B (3440x1440) I tried both HDMI and DP and the other monitor is 2. LG 27UD58-B (3840x2160) also i tried HDMI and DP The card seems to be fine because it is warm (not hot) to the touch when the PC is turned on, the fans don't spin (I have had other triple fan cards that on idle the fans won't spin so I don't know if this is normal or if it's an issue) I have tried all of the PCI slots of my motherboard, I've tried the card on 2 of my PC's, I've tried pressing the BIOS button on the card and it lights up blue but thats it, I have tried using 1 double 8pin power conector and 2 8 pi single power cables and nothing... i don't know if the card is damaged or whats my issue so if any of you could help me i would really appreciated Here are the specs of the 2 PCs i have tried the GPU on: 1st System: CPU: Threadripper 2950X CPU Cooler: Deep Cool Castle 360 Motherboard: Gigabyte X399 Aorus Xtreme RAM: 64GB Corsair Dominator Platinum RGB 3000MHz C15 Storage: Samsung 1TB M.2 Nvme Powe Supply: EVGA SuperNova G3 1000W 80+ Gold OS: Windows 10 Pro _________________________________ 2nd System: CPU: Threadripper 1950X CPU Cooler: Cooler Master Wraith Ripper Air Cooler Motherboard: AsRock X399 Phantom Gaming 6 RAM: 48GB Teamgroup T-Force Night Hawk 3200MHz C16 Storage: Arata 1TB M.2 Power Supply: Asus ROG Strix 850W 80+ Gold OS: Windows 10 Home

Hey guys, I currently have a amd radeon R9 295x2.. I know I know... Wich is still running games like doom eternal on high at 1080p on high just fine around 60 fps.. My current setup is: Intel i7 5930k 4.1 ghz 32gb dominator 3100 mhz ram Asus rampage V extreme mobo M. 2 drives with ssds and hdds All running with the gfx on a costum water loop with 3 3x120 rads. And juiced by a corsair 1200w power supply Would my cpu or something else be a bottleneck? I have pcie gen 3 but I saw that it doesn't really affect performance on 1080p and I don't think I'll be going 4k soon. Cheers!

I'm an university teacher. (in latin america) I use OBS to stream and record my classes. I have an FX-8320E and a Nitro R9 380 4GB, 400Mbps down and 10Mbps Up. I use virtualcam to get the video output to zoom. 1080p 30fps canvas for webcam+ppt+realtime subs+zoom chat. I think virtualcam uses the stream configuration (x264, main, veryfast, 4000 bitrate) Also i record the classes with x264 2500 bitrate, and get 1.5GB per class, but i get some little artifacts if i'm also doing some stuff in the pc and i'm not very conformed with the quality for 1080 30fps. I want to try H264/AVC (AMD encoder) to get the gpu make some work. The video then is uploaded to youtube and deleted the file (no edit), so i don't care so much about file size. I'm not sure what kind of options for the AMD encoder should i use. I want around 5000 bitrate for the recording, but i'm not sure if use QP, CBR, VBR or VBRLAT. Have anyone experience using AMD encoder to record video? Thanks in advance.

Hello community, I am new to the PCMR scene and will be creating a new PC soon. Due to budget constraints I have mostly decided to use older hardware so I can learn before I can jump into expensive hardware. I have 2 R9 Fury Nitro cards from Nitro and I noticed that on my motherboard (MSI X370 Carbon) the cards are very close to each other. The two cards generate some heat (quite a lot actually) and get loud under load. As such, k thought for aesthetic reasons, I should try custom water-cooling. I was wondering if someone has previously had experienced custom water-cooling for Sapphire R9 Fury Nitro cards. So far I have found only 3 waterblocks: Swiftech Komodo, Alphacool Nexxxo and Bykski. Additionally what radiator size should be used. I am using a Corsair crystal 570x case.

Hey everyone, I just wanted to know if anyone knows what testing methodology for the CPUs the team used in the new review, as it seems important. If they were testing the Ten-Nine-Hundred Kay (awful name) at their unlimited 250W, but then the 3900X using 150W, it doesn't seem too fair. Just because there's a 16% improvement in performance for gaming doesn't mean it's worth the 78% more power draw. BC Hydro's Power Calc gives the result of (6hrs/day, 1 year) of 328.50kWh & $36.73 for R9 and 547.50kWh & $61.21 for i9. If anyone has the info please link it below as it would be interesting to see what the cost of 16% is for both i9 against the R9 Sources: 10900K Power: LTT 10900K Review 3900X Power: Gamers Nexus Review Power Cost Calcs: BC Hydro Cost Calculator

Hi! When I had my 290 and I was overclocking, I was having artifacts when pushing the clock too hard. With the 980ti i have rn, the driver crashes. Thing is I know people with 980tis who get artifacts when oc and people with 290(x) who get driver crashes and no artifacts. What makes a gpu to artifact when ocing and what makes another one crash the driver? (I personally liked the artifact type of gpus more as they are much more easier to spot. Crashing drivers are much harder to properly stabilize clocks) Also if you know an nvidia driver which is more stable than the others when overclocking (preferably one from 2019 if it exists).

Hello my fellow techies! I've been looking for an upgrade over my R9 390 for a while now. The problem is that I'm a student right now, and living by myself so I am not able to pay a fortune for a new GPU, but here the other day I stumbled over a used R9 Fury 4gb for £130. Do you think its worth it?

Hello, I'm having issue with Sapphire R9 280 3GB. The graphic card is too noisy in idle mode. It has ~85 degrees and auto Fan Speed at 76 % ,in idle, at gaming it has more. I tried to cleaning it up, but it didn't help. Card has 2 fans and 1 is spinning only. If I set 84 %+ on Fan Speed, the second fan will start spin. I don't know, what is wrong. I need help, thank you!

No matter what game I play, my r9 270x's core clock is stuck at peak 450 mhz even though all applications such as radeon settings and afterburner have it set as 1050mhz(see pictures for reference). Because of this I'm not able to even get 60fps in games such as mirrors edge catalyst at medium settings when I should be easily able to achieve that. Could be thermal throttling but as the pictures show, temperature peaked out at just 79C. HELP PLEASE my other specs:- Asrock x58 extreme 3 mobo Intel Xeon x5660 @2.8ghz 8GB ddr3 fsp 550watt psu

Hey guys, I'm new to the LTT forum - I did use google and the search function and did not find anything useful. I am the proud owner of an ASUS R9 390X DirectCU II. I had a few problems that could be caused by the card (game crashes and so on) and looked over at techpowerup for a newer VBIOS. I found this https://www.techpowerup.com/vgabios/183551/asus-r9390x-8192-151110 which is for the very similar STRIX version. Currently this (https://www.techpowerup.com/vgabios/173754/asus-r9390x-8192-150428) is flashed. My questions are: can I even update the VBIOS of this card and if yes, can I update it to this version? Can I go back? Could I break the card? And would it be useful if I liquid-metaled the card? (I have some lying around.) EDIT: Some specs of my PC if needed: i7 3770k @ 4,5GHz (stable) - watercooled (240mm Radiator) 16GB Corsair Vengeance 1600MHz RAM @ 1800 (stable too) Windows running off of a Samsung 840 Evo 250GB Windows 10 1809 - Fully updated AMD Driver 19.2.1 Best regards and thanks in advance Coin

Hey guys. My specs are:- xeon x5660 (better than even the i7 3770, cinebench score is 710) xfx r9 270x 2gb and 8gb ram (4gb x2). I can push to high settings on every game but in apex legends, even if I lower the rest to 900p and other settings at lowest, I don't get solid 60 fps. It's like 10-15 in air and 40-50 on ground with spikes dropping to 25fps. I've updated the drivers and the game. The worst part is that people with the same gpu worst cpus than mine play on better graphics and get much better results even though they're recording the gameplay. Take a look at these videos for ref https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bjSFp9TueAA https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oQisZzYRVes https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ErfocfpqIZ4 This is really frustrating please help
