Hey Guys, I made a kind of budget build for my self and it was my first build, here are the specs: CPU : I5 4690K GPU : R9 280X Dual-X OC Edition MOBO: Asrock b85m-pro4 SSD: Kingston 120GB HDD: WD Blue 1TB PSU: EVGA Supernova 750 G2 Fuly modular Case: Bitfinex Prodigy M Cooler: Hyper TX3 So pretty much im overclocking my cpu right now to 4ghz and i was wondering what is a stable overclock for my gpu? its base clock at ~1020mhz i think and i wanted to go higher.Whenever i use the saphhire tri-xx or the msi after burner after like 5 mins of overclock to like 1100mhz my gpu crashes. I just put my power limit to max and went up to 1100mhz. Sorry if i sound lilke a noob its my first time :). If you could just recommend a stable overclock setup that would be awesome. Thanks so much guys!

Hi! I've been watching a lot of Linus Tech Tips/NCIX/AsQuicklyAsPossible and other Linus hosted videos as of late ever since I've taken up Comp TIA A+ and Net+ classes. Often case the subject matter just happens to overlap, and in one area that I currently lack is the fear of trying to build my own computer myself. Now I've had a custom computer made by my local MicroCenter before (using a combination of finding great deals, like paying $125 for an AMD HD 7870) since I wasn't particularly versed in assembling a PC. Even now, despite taking up an A+ class twice, I have a fear of accidentally blowing up a rig by selecting the wrong PSU or perhaps applying thermal paste wrong. Maybe I'm just paranoid... Anyways... I promised myself that my next computer would be smaller but meatier (VR compliant) than my current build, which is currently housed in an Antec VSK3000 series tower. Even I still found it too unwieldy setting on my desk, which is why I decided to go for Silverstone's RVZ02B "Home Theater PC" cases for this. Many have claimed that it is relatively easy to work with compared to other itx cases out on the market (and I have, as Linus would put it in one video, "small Asian hands"). I thought it would be great to pair it up with AMDs latest miniaturized graphic card, the R9 Nano, as the lower power consumption and form factor would work great with in this case, especially if I were planning on mounting a 3.5" 4TB HDD together with a Samsung 850 EVO 2.5" 1TB SSD (the HDD has to be mounted in the same compartment as the GPU). I planned on utilizing the ASRock Fatal1ty Gaming Z170 Gaming-ITX/ac fitted with an i7-6770k in conjunction with 32GB of DDR4 RAM (most likely the HyperX Savage 32GB HX424C14SBK2/32, but I'm also eyeing the G.SKILL Ripjaws V Series 32GB F4-2400C14D-32GVK to see if it could possibly fit...) cooled with a Zalman CNPS8900 Quiet Slim fan (I've seen posts of several builders that have claimed it does fit the RVZ02B). Some problem arises should the fan be covering the fan slots, hence why I'm still trying to decide if a RAM like the HyperX Savage would be a better fit than the G.Skill, which does have heat spreaders going slightly upward. I'm waiting for Corsair to release their SF600W power supply after hearing the bad news about the Silverstone SFX600's failure rate. Thought I was assured that the SFX-L500W would be more than enough for my rig (though I'm still unsure about how good these PSUs are). Lastly, I do not plan on overclocking my rig. This is mostly for longevity reasons (Yes, I do plan on making this rig last a decade! I'm not spending this much again in a loooong time!), but also because I'm also inexperience and don't want to fry my CPU/GPU that I've bought with hard earned cold cash (or credit). I did hear that "increasing the Power Limit" of the Nano and "undervolting" is not considered "overclocking", but I'm still scared about applying any out-of-specification usage that might result in damage. Here's my list from PCPartsPicker: CPU: Intel Core i7-6700K 4.0GHz Quad-Core Processor CPU Cooler: Zalman CNPS8900 Quiet CPU Cooler (Purchased) Motherboard: ASRock Fatal1ty Z170 Gaming-ITX/ac Mini ITX LGA1151 Motherboard Memory: Kingston Savage 32GB (2 x 16GB) DDR4-2400 Memory Storage: Samsung 850 EVO-Series 1TB 2.5" Solid State Drive (Purchased) Toshiba 4TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive Video Card: Asus Radeon R9 Nano 4GB Video Card White Edition (Purchased) Case: Silverstone RVZ02B HTPC Case (Purchased) Power Supply: Silverstone 500W 80+ Gold Certified Fully-Modular SFX Power Supply Optical Drive: Panasonic UJ240 6x Blu-ray Burner BD-RE/8x DVD±RW (Purchased) Goals: Small as possible Try to keep it as close to 500W as possible/ Keep power consumption low Must be able to run 3 monitors (3 x 1366x768@60Hz), VR Ready Avoid the need to open the case (RAM is maxed from the get go because of this. RVZ02B also has dust filters.) No overclocking/ longevity and durability utmost importance. I'd greatly appreciate any feedback and advice!

Well as the title says I can not decide on either one of those. The two options i have are: - PowerColor PCS+ (Tripple Fan Solution ) r9 290 4 GB - r9 380 Nitro 4 GB Also what is a good mid-range modular PSU that will go with those cards , assuming i have an i7 locked CPU.

Which one is better setup for cs:go mainly?? The 4690k with ~100 usd mobo z97 or 4460 with h97 mobo. Or then 4690 with h97 mobo????

Wondering if anyone has managed to modify the Sapphire R9 270x Toxic edition? I'm looking to change the colour of the LED logo to a white instead of bright orange. I'm also going to be spraying it white to match my black and white build so I feel like this would really set it off. So does anyone have experience with this card in terms of modding is aesthetically? It looks like the LED is lit up with a plastic or glass bar, but I'm not too sure. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks:) Connor

Hello, guys. I have this really weird glich in GTA 5 vanilla↓↓ Running Catalyst: 2015.0821.229.38003 With everything in Very high, and long shadows and detailed fly streaming ON in the advance settings, FXAA ON and MSAA X4, and Vsync OFF, running@1080. I've try switching the Shadow options from the AMD one to the "Softest" one settings. This is the only game I'm having issues, and my R9 280 is brand new, so... I doubt it's because of it. So im making this post because this is a major problem right now for Elite dangerous but there seems to be alot of people who dont know or dont relize what is actually happening. Please read all of this before commenting and i will be quoting alot from other people but these are people who have done alot of troubleshooting on this game and this is the results. i wont post everything they have said so at the bottem i will post a link to another form post that i highly suggest you read atleast the last 20pages of. Alright for starters let me explain the issue. Right now if you are running windows 10 and have a amd graphics card with any drivers 15.7 or newer and while playing the game inter supercruise(sc) you will almost certainly get massive frame drops. usually you go from constant 60 to 10 or lower in a couple minutes. Supercruise is a huge part of the game its how you get from station to station and planet to plant. and even to different solar systems. This has been going on since the driver updates to 15.7 so about 4 months. They have stated that it is an amd driver issue and that they can do a work around for it. aka pointing the finger of blame on amd so they dont have to face the truth. Now let me explain whats really happening. this has been put off as another amd problem. However Nvidias windows 10 drivers are also having issues just not to the same extant. I have been all over forums and nvidia users who have unlocked their fps also get frame drops when entering sc. now you could say its still amd that because its not as bad that its a natrual decrease. but the truth is the drop is about 50% or more of what your constant fps is. That is not a natural fps drop unless your game is not properly optimised. now What i have seen is that one user in particular has figured out is that there is a thread getting hung up here is he's post ill also leave a link too find all his post about this. He has provided proof and testing for very thing he claims i think he has done more to figure out this problem then even frontire has. https://forums.frontier.co.uk/search.php?searchid=6030033&pp= (Edit: i had to remove the two pic from the quote about because it wouldnt let me post with them there. please go and look at the real post and see them for yourself.) https://forums.frontier.co.uk/showthread.php?t=170946&page=57&p=3147719#post3147719 Now im not saying there aren't problems in amds new drivers everyone knows amd always has some problem. However i dont think they should be getting the blame for this if you look at all the evidence its not just amd. the evidance show that yes amds new drivers have exacerbate the problem, but that the problem was already there. It is so obivious that this is poor optimazation. and yes there is a work around for some people by rolling back to 15.6 or earlier drivers. or just getting of windows 10. but for people who have made the update and are running a fury or a 300 graphics card they are stuck they can do either. yes they could go back to windows 7 but what about people getting know computers. they are completely stuck with out spending money to get windows 7 or 8.1. My point is Frontier just sits there not warning new buyers or even trying to fix this themselfs. they just point at amd every time someone mentions it. im not saying the games bad its a great game but is unplayble with these issues. sc is a huge part of the game. This is the end of my post. I highly suggest you look at the form link i posted and look at what this one user has had to do in is free time instead of playing this game. this guy has done alot and he deserves the attention. but more then that i think we shouldn't let he's hard work go to waste. we need to let everyone know its not an amd problem. It is a god damn frontire problem. so many still think its just amd. Im not saying i want this post to go viral. hell i doubt it will happen but if you read this and you found it informative please please share it. we need this to get out there. we need someone with a voice to find this info and run with it. because just me making this post wont make frontire realise their problem. they need a fire lit under their asses. but that wont happen unless enough poeple start realising that is not amd and that it is them. heres the link to the form post that open my eyes to the truth. i realy suggest you read from page 50 up. https://forums.frontier.co.uk/showthread.php?t=170946. Have a great day to all who read this.

Will an AMD R9 nano experience bottleneck if the cpu is a AMD Athlon x4 750k Quad Core Processor 3.40 GHz ? or will these two cooperate nice ?

my graphics card has been doing some mighty strange things lately.. it has been giving me great performance but it has been going slow then speeding up like im lagging but i stay at a very consistent 60 fps. help im really confused and games are unplayable with this problem. it only happens to moving objects and it isnt my processor because it happens in a gpu benchmark also my specs are: gigabyte z97 gaming 7 intel i5 4690k @ 4.3 ghz 1.265~ v msi radeon r9 290 4g gaming edition oc at 1020mhz wd blue 1tb corsair cm 850w bronze + and tons of cooling (5 120mm fans)(also never gets above 130° any other inquiries let me know watch how the character moves it is shaky and rubbery?

http://pcpartpicker.com/p/ZXDdZL Hi guys this is the build I have been working on for the past 5 days of hard research I used to be a student and moved around a ton so my laptop was all I needed and we all know a laptop is just alright but the names make it look like a 4k $ pc because of the mobile parts if you didnt know better. Now My budget is really $500 USD but for the performance I am willing to go no higher than $700 USD without OS. I wanted to go intel cpu but seeing how the new skylake is out I can just upgrade when they have more use for DDR4, I can still upgrade to a better CPU on amd and this will only be lightly used for game/software dev. mostly I will be using my workstation laptop that has parts designed for rendering not gaming. After looking at AMD vs Nvidia GPU I cant go with Nvidia even when I trust the brand because my entire Idea is to upgrade the parts down the road and to use the r9 380 in crossfire with say a r9 390x (from what people claim) I feel like that would be better than getting a all new Nvidia and selling like a 950 or 960 to get more ram at 1440p res. I think I covered everything I need I want to slightly overclock, gaming and slight game dev. Good upgrade path, $500 usd - $700 USD price W/out OS. playing at 1440p hopfully near 40 -60 FPS and in the future I will get dual displays ( goal is 3 but by that time the r9 GPU will be outdated ) Here are the specs. ( link above ) CPU AMD FX 8320 CPU Cooler Cooler master evo MOBO MSI 970 G Ram G.Skill Ripjaws x (2 x 4GB ) HDD hybrid 1T GPU MSI Radeon R9 380 4GB Case Fractal Design Define R4 w/Window ATX Mid Tower PSU Corsair 750w 80+ Gold / Fully Modular ATX (full mod. because I hate cables) Wireless Network Asus PCE-N53 (Wireless is a MUST have my office is quite a ways from the router and the wife will NOT let me run a cable under the carpet < but give it a few months and we will see about that>)

Amazon: http://geni.us/2MmN NCIX: http://bit.ly/21xa3wk Does AMD's new R9 380X slide into the existing product stack as nicely as we had expected, or is it a massive head-turner in terms of performance?

I just built a new system and I for some reason can't pass benchmarks without freezing on the second scene for Valley and on Heaven it's like 5 seconds in when it freezes... Valley - https://unigine.com/en/products/benchmarks/valley Heaven - https://unigine.com/en/products/benchmarks/heaven My System Intel i7-5960X 2 AMD R9 390's Crossfire Windows 10/7 Everything is stock and I can't figure out why I can't run these benchmarks... I can run them in DX9 (Not smooth though) I can't seem to run it in DX11 mode without it freezing. I have tried updating DX11 without success, please help.

So Im working on a build for the start of next year and ice pretty much got everything except, I want to do a black/white/green color scheme, and I want to use the R9 FURY due to the directx 12 performance. If you know anything about this, you may see my problem. Fury's are distinctly black or black and red. I want to find one that is black and green for my build. Does anybody know of one that will work or should I plan on rattle canning it myself.

Hey guys, This is a bit of a long shot, but I'm curious so I'm asking either way. I'm a low level tech support employee for an electronics retailer, and I'm running into some confusing information. A customer who bought an Acer Predator G3-605 I8902 NL approached us and told us about the PC's GPU not corresponding with what's in the PC's formal specifications. The ones on the sticker, I mean. This PC is supposed to ship with an AMD R9 255 2GB, an OEM model. I opened up the machine and the card does indeed identify as an R9 255. It's an OEM card, and if I've done my homework correctly, this is a variant that can't really be bought seperately, it's just for OEM manufactuers. The problem that made the customer approach us in the first place, is that the card isn't recognised properly in Windows 10. It's labeled as an "AMD Radeon R7 Series / HD 9000 Series", everywhere, in Device Manager, GPU-Z, Speccy, etc. The rest of its tech specs, clock speeds, memory bus, etc, DOES correspond with an R9 255. It just labels it incorrectly. Updated the drivers to the most recent without any issue. No change. Performance-wise it's what you would expect from this card, which is to say, pretty mediocre. Reminds me on Linus' excellent rant on low-end cards... But I digress. What I'm really asking is, is this just a stupid software labeling error, that both I and the customer should totally ignore, or has there indeed been some kind of mix-up at Acer? Curious to know. Thanks in advance, guys!

Hello everyone, First of all I`d like to say that I have been looking around in this forum for quite a while now but this is the first time I post something To jump straight to my question, in two weeks I`ll order a water cooling system for my gpu and I need your help to choose the right one. My gpu is AMD Sapphire r9 280x vapor-x tri-x and it has some overheating issues. I changed the thermal paste few times now, but 3 of the screw heads (the head where the screw actually goes in) got destroyed and they are the ones around the gpu socket so you can imagine that my temperatures are not very low at the moment. So I searched the web for solutions and I narrowed it down to using Nzxt kraken g10 with one of the following coolers : Corsair H75 / H55 / H90. The problem is that I do not know which one to chose and which one is the better in terms of cooling, sound and at the same time if it justifies the price. I was thinking of getting an H55 with 2 Noctua fans NF-F12 or to just go with H55 or H90 with stock fans. I have been doing some research about them and I still don't know which would be the best solution for this so I am open to suggestions. I live in Denmark so the websites I will buy from will be this or this one.

Hey Guys! I want to upgrade my old system with a HD7750 and a Quad Core FX 4100 Prozessor (3,6 GHZ). I saved quite a bit and could get the 390X. Do you think I can get the full or almost full potential out of the GPU? Greetings! DJS

Ive had a sapphire r9 fury for awhile, thought what the hell and got another card to run crossfire, the card was defective so i sent it back to newegg for a replacement card and was told they were out of stock and might not stock them again. Further investigation led me to check amazon, ncix and even ebay with no new cards available in the US. Why would saphire do this?

OK, so I posted on here before about this and how I am going to RMA this card, but I've been addicted to playing my games that I never have yet! So far I've added a fan and my temperature on NBA 2k16, Shadow of mordor, and rainbow six seige, averages 80-85 degrees (pretty much the only graphically demanding games I play and 2k16 is just not optimized) Here is a video of my graphic card under the shadow mordor benchmark in high settings. After you see the video please tell me why the card is so hot and making that noise! And I know that I will eventually have to RMA the card... IMG_3225.MOV IMG_3226.MOV

Hello everyone. Im new here and i plan on building a budget pc. My gpu cards would be either r9 380 or r7 370 or even 360. I do not have specified budget yet and i wanna know how would these cpu perform with r9 380. Im most interested about 860k and i do not know if it will bottleneck r9 380.

Alright, I've been planning a Gaming build for a while now, and I feel I want to go with a Sapphire Tri-X R9 280X. However, I am not sure whetther to go with the Vapor X or the Toxic. Any info you have I might like to hear? Any recommendations? Previous experiences? Please let me know your opinion on these cards, Thanks a lot!

So I've been planning a new PC build now, but once I posted it last time I got some feedback and I changed it up a bit. Since that other post is not getting any comments anymore, I'm making this new updated one. Here are my part choices on my revised build: CPU: AMD Athlon X4 860K CPU Cooler: CM Hyper 212 EVO Motherboard: ASrock FM2A88X PRO3+ ATX FM2+ RAM: Patriot Signature (2x4GB) Blue DDR3 1600 Storage: Seagate 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM HHD (Yes, HHD not HDD to be clear) GPU: Sapphire Radeon R9 280X Tri-X Vapor X PSU: Still open to debate. Currently have the EVGA SuperNOVA NEX 750W 80+ Bronze Semi-Modular listed. Case: ThermalTake Commander MS-I Snow Edition ATX Mid tower That's my list. Let me know what you think and let me know if you think there will be any problems. I'm also considering adding in another 280X Tri-X VaporX, let me know if you think that would fit or not. Thanks everyone! Any input is appreciated. I just want to make sure my 1st PC build turns out good. Also, if you want to look at the parts on PCpartpicker for some quick access to info on the parts, here: http://ca.pcpartpicker.com/p/dRDPrH Feel free to ignore the keyboard if you want.
