Hey sup guys! I have question. My graphics card MSI r9 270 STARTED to showing artifats since i played lots of games this month, above 8 hours per day and not working with drivers anymore so my friend is willing to give me his old MSI R9 380 4GB graphics card since he is using 1070 GTX. My question is , will my quite old PSU Enermax handle that card well? R9 270 was using 150 W as i know and r9 380 is using i think 190W? On my PSU 2x6 pin coming out from PSU and this card demands that. So, should I be okay or no? I do play games a lot. Like 6/8 hours per day, medium-high with 1600x900 resolution. So PC should be like this , i7 2600k, saying 95 TDP 8 gigs of RAM DDR3, 4usb im using x2 for keyboard and mouse, rest can be mic or USB soundcard 3 HDDs 7200 rpm and 1 SSD MSI R9 380 4GB Enermax Liberty 500W 12V1 22A, 12V2 22A

Hi, I got a broken R9 380 that stoped working for no apparent reason, I was talking to a friend, told him I'm using a GTX 660 and he gave me this one and said that if i fix it, it's mine. My build is old and as it follows: AsRock 930 Pro3 AMD FX-8350 BE 4GB DDR3 RAM Corsair CX 550W the gpu was not used for a long time, i opened it, changed the thermal paste gave it a cleaning (was already pretty clean) reconected everything and gave it a try, nothing even lights up. No coolers spin in the entire pc, my mobo doesn't have a onboard video, so it doesn't start without a gpu, which means the mobo doesn't ever detect a gpu. I know it isn't a mobo problem because it works well with my old GTX660. What could cause this kind of problem?

Hey. One fan of my R9 380 series GPU is just restarting over and over. It also makes a little noise when it restarts like it stops hard or something... I bought this fan on ebay like a year ago and it had new fans. Ran really good until recently. I am decent with computers but not amazing with fans. My room has good temps lol I attached a system information screenshot and PSU Things I have Done cleaned fan and whole pc tried msi afterburner & fanspeed made sure bios is updated got the fan out and re screwed it in perfectly formatted my whole pc and reinstalled windows changing pci e slots ( card takes two 6 pins) i just put them the other way and it didnt do anything Things I want to try replace bearings in fan? the above video shows a possible fix. I cannot get there however in my amd program. It updated since the video. If anyone has any way to do that without going on the software, let me know so i can try please!

So, a few days ago one of the fans on my R9 380 PCS+ (PowerColor 4GB Version) and because of that, I can't play any games on it (even with an 80 Mhz underclock, fan speed set to 100, etc.) because the GPU reaches up to 130) So; my question is; are there any cheap aftermarket coolers that would fit onto the card (R9 285 reference PCB) that aren't super expensive (under 80 euro)....... I know that it's an old card but I can't really afford to buy a new GTX 1080(TI) or 1070ti which means that I'm gonna have to repair my old R9 380

Hey Guyz.. Sorry for my bad english i wanted to get most out of my r9 380 and that's why i decided to overclock it.. i use unigine heaven for benchmark the graphic card.. and i overclocked through msi afterburner.. my core clock goes upto 1050mhz from 985mhz and after that heaven is crashing so i m sure i couldn't bump up the core clock any more.. then i started to bumping up the memory clock and now i am at max 1750 mhz from 1450 mhz.. and i m gaining a little bit performance after everytime i increased the memory clock.. but i wanted to confirm that is it right to use unigine heaven for memory clock overclocking?\

I handed down my old gaming pc to my younger brother about two years ago. The 2nd gen i5 cpu and mobo eventually failed and he has been stuck with no pc for a while. We still have an old MSI r9 380 4gb and some gskill ripsawX 1600mhz ram (2x4gb) plus a cx500 PSU and HDD that I am unaware of its working condition. If put in a decent budget pc would suffice for his fortnite and minecraft adventures. I have been trying to figure out what is the best way to use these parts to get a budget decent gaming pc by maybe throwing it into a old Vostro 260 with a 2nd gen i3 or finding a myriad of used parts on ebay to build him a Frankenstein machine. Something for under $200 would be ideal because anymore and I would probably be better off just getting him a budget APU build. Either way I have been getting caught going down the rabbit whole of trying to figure out what kind of things I might need to upgrade on something like an old Vostro 260 like the PSU? (if it is even able to be upgraded) If anyone has any ideas, recommendations, or experience doing something like this I would love to hear some input.

I have an fx-6300 and I'm looking for an R9 380 (any of them with 4gb) and I wonder if my PSU will handle it. It's a Cooler Master Silent Pro M500 with Bronze certification. My system is like 2 years old now.

Hello everyone Before I start: I looked this up on the internet, a lot. Been busy for quite a while now, but I can't get it to work.Currently I have two computers, one I used for a while and one I put together two days ago.The "new" one exists out of old parts such as:i5 3570kgigabyte GA-H61M-S1 (flashed to 10b)8gb hyperx running at 1333 nowCorsair CX600 (fully tested and working)Asus strix r9 380 2gb OCClean windows 10 installationSomehow this setup is not detecting the gpu. Only the d-sub port from the mobo works.I swapped a 1080 ti in this system, it worked. I swapped the r9 380 in the pc that usually runs the 1080 ti, worked fine. Tested all ports on the r9 card, all worked. I put it back in the i5 pc, doesn't work. The power is fine, both cards have all the lights light up and fans spinning, and I tested some games in my main pc.Really frustrating, I have no clue what is wrong and why the r9 card doesn't work with the i5 and h61m-s1 Please help me

Hummm I have 3 PC Setup At Home, 1 for me that I can run what ever I want in max setting and 2 others with more "low end" in mind like playing minecraft with 2 of my friend but some thing seams weard, I have 1 of the 2 low end equip with: FX8350 8 core Radeon R9 380 24Go de ram(to off load rendering over night on this pc and be able to render 2 thing same time even if it doesn't have the best GPU) as you can see in the first photo even with just minecraft open, My GPU Filker between 90% and 0% amd that cause lot of lag spikes and over all I have between 50 and 100 fps with everything at minimum as exemple, This is my more Low end PC FX 6300 Six Core Radeon R9 270X 8G of ram this pc get only 5Go of ram allocated to minecraft and the first one has 10Go of ram allocated because of less overall ram This pc get around 200-300 fps same setting same version of windows, both with all driver up to date, (see second picture for representation of usage) this one get way better result(more like expected) but with less powerfull parts? where could the probleme be?

Hi there LTT land I'm trying to decide if I should OC my PC which is by no means weak for my needs, but sometimes I would like a bit more OOMPH from it when playing some games, was easily capable to play some games on ultra just after I bought it but since some upgrades and such crap it cant on default settings at least. I am by no means computer savvy enough that I can do this on my own, I'm to ADHD and visually oriented to go through walls of text and pro jargon about these things. So I'm kinda stuck with asking for help from total strangers which have a bit of time to help out a noob to OC his PC. I have tried to start on my own Downloaded MSI afterburner and Kombuster, TechPowerUp & had Speccy since forever. I hope the Screenshot is enough info on the PC to be able to give me some advice to start with. like what to do on these testing thingies to advance and so on and so forth Regards Goodmann P.S. ADHD made me open 3 windows while making this small post since it looked like something I wanted to check out. . . . OOOOHHHH is that a squirrel? Runs of for the fourth window P.S.S. So I was googling back and forth since I'm impatient as hell and nobody replies anyways and found A POST asking basically the same as I am, seems to have the same Mobo and CPU if I'm not mistaken. Is the conclusion that some of those replying correct? Is it not advisable to OC this mobo at all? I really would like to know. . .

Also, after that occurs I can't open amd radeon settings until I restart my computer for some reason . I am sure that I do not have any other instances of the install manager running. I apologize in front if someone has already posted about this problem, I checked first couple of pages of this forum and didn't see anything like this been posted. My system: R9 380 strix 2gb FX 8370 8gb ram Asus M5A97 R2.0 motherboard EDIT: Driver version that I was going go download is 16.30.2311-160718a (WHQL)

Hey guys, About two month ago i build a rig for my sister, sporting a FX 8300 on an old ASRock mainbord. We installed a used Nvidea 650 that she got from a friend, with the aim to upgrade to my ASUS r9 380 Strix when i got my RX 480 Nitro. One month ago, i went on a two week trip, and thinking "well she could have my card in her rig for the time" i put my 380 into her rig, just to be greeted by an beepcode saying that the vram was malfunctioning. But in my rig it works still perfectly... so i thought, well the Mainboard&BIOS might be so old (from 2009 or something like that) that it can't handle the 4gb of vram... So we got the new ASRock AM3+ Board, that was released this year. we mounted the processor, ram and the r9 380 and looked, if it woulod post, in order to check if the new MB would work with the card. And it worked... Today, after putting the just arrrived RX480 in my rig i wanted to upgrade hers to the r3 380. Well, this time i got just 5 short beep, meaning that the CPU had a problem... but after putting the 650 back in, it worked fine with the Nvidea card... I hope someone can help me getting her rig to work with the r9 380... greets JD_Tiger

My current build features an r9 380 but I'm looking into getting an RX 480 as they are super cheap and I've got some spare cash. Is it possible, with an i5 6500, to run an RX 480 with an r9 380 together at the same time together without any issues? If there are any issues with that what are they and are they cheap to avoid? Thanks for the help (in advance)

Windows 10 x64, R9 380 GPU, Dell 1080p 60hz Monitor I used my computer normally today, played some games. Then put it in sleep mode but when I came back my monitor said "No Signal". I restarted and after windows logo my monitor kept losing signal. (until that point everything works. bios etc.) I ended up at Safe Mode(it worked; i booted into windows) and removed any AMD drivers with Guru3d DDU. Rebooted and I was able to boot in to normal Windows. Then I re-installed drivers (16.7.2) As soon as it installed monitor lost signal again. I repeated previous steps. Installed 16.6.2 which worked perfectly up until today. Same happened. I'm sitting here without drivers now and don't even know what is the problem. Thanks!

Hey guys, I friend of mine wanted to have a new gaming pc. So should i get: an i3-6100 + a R9 380 Strix 4GB or an i5-6400 + a R7 360 2GB ? Thanks for your help!

I bought a new MSI R9 380 4GB a few months ago as an upgrade from my r7 250, but I just recently noticed something weird while in CPU-Z; this being that it seemed as if my GPU core clock was 300 Mhz and my Memory Clock is 150 Mhz, which I'm not sure is correct. I have no idea how I haven't noticed this until now and how it starts so low. I'll attach some screenshots of MSI Afterburner. I'm not sure if 300 MHz and 150 MHz is the actual stock speed for my memory and core, I would assume that it's much higher. Any overclocking suggestions are welcome: Here's my PC specs for someone wanting to know more before suggesting: - Hyper 212 Evo - AMD 8320 - MSI 760GM-P34 Motherboard (super trash) - EVGA 500w Bronze https://gyazo.com/913441eba4fef4229889e597fe6aa9ae

Hi i just bought a new computer with an r9 380 and a 6600k and following my amazement by the fact that Csgo and League were running at 300 fps+ i heard some really strange sounds from my graphics card at these high fps numbers. I am using amd free sync therefore i dont want to limit my fps below 200. Does anyone else have a similiar problem with that card or a diffrent one?

So, I've had a super hard (like back and forth everyday for a couple weeks hard) time deciding between getting a GTX 960 or an R9 380. From what I've heard and read, the 380 has better gaming performance. I've also seen, looking at spec sheets, that the 380 has much better memory performance, with higher memory interface width and total memory bandwidth. However, the 960 has mucher higher GPU clock speeds and pixel rates, and therefore, better shader performance (right?). Also, the 380 has better texture rate, which I assume helps give it its edge in gaming? So there's the data I've discovered, but it really doesn't mean anything to me in terms of all-around performance in gaming, editing, and rendering. So, I guess what I want to know is whether the gaming performance edge the 380 has is enough to overwhelm the features of a 960 like Shadowplay, CUDA, and others? Thanks for any help that you can give! P.S. Gaming/gaming and recording are my biggest priorities. Then, editing all those gaming videos (and some other stuff) with Premiere Pro. So if anyone can link me to some stats (article or video) on the 960 vs the 380 in Adobe products (Premiere Pro mostly), that would be great. P.P.S. Also, if you use Shadowplay, would you pick it over OBS, Fraps, and any other recording software? If so, why? Does it offer better performance while gaming?
