So I just got a RSOD for the first time ever. (I didn't even know they were a thing) I was playing Sleeping Dogs and it just happened. This is the first time this has happened to me and all previous gameplay has been perfectly fine. I just want to know if this is something I should delve deeper into, or is it just one of those hiccups computers can have? Again, this is the first time and all previous gameplay of Sleeping Dogs, and other games, have been quite fine. Specs: CPU: A10-7850k, stock GPU: R9 270, 1050 core, 1500 memory PSU: CX430 RAM: 2133 MHz G.SKILL Ripjaws

Hey guys! I recently bought r9 270 from gigabyte and i want to overclock it but i dont know what i'm doing :c http://screenshooter.net/100097852/wvjxgln This is how my MSI Afterburner looks like. How do to this thing? Slick said in the review that he just put all the sliders at the end but i dont want to damage my card and i dont know. I mean i kinda know how overclocking works but i dont know what to do about that power limit. Is it really a LIMIT? From what i understand right now i could do no overclocking and put the power limit at the end and nothing would happen because it doesn't need more power with that clocks. Help me plox :c

I have decided on buying an r9 270 non x but am unsure of which version to buy. In New Zealand the gigabyte R9 270 Windforce costs the same as an Asus R9 270 Direct CU II card. I am most likely going to overclock to 270X speeds. I don't really mind too much about noise but do want to get the quieter one obviously. So basically which cooler is better? as both cards should overclock to 1050 Mhz fairly easily? currently i am inclined to go for the Gigabyte as it has two 6 pin power connectors where as the asus card only has 1.

I was looking to buy an R9 270 from my friend for a low price and was wondering if it will work with my PC, and if it does, if it will damage the GPU. I am definitely building a new PC in a few months but want to see if I can use it with my existing one at the moment, I don't care about damaging my current one as it's crap. I'm just worried about the card. I know it will bottleneck A LOT but I don't care as its not my daily driver. SPECS: - Intel core 2 duo e4500 - Asus P5BSE - 4gb 1066 ram - 200gb HDD - 300W PSU thanks for the help in advance (:

I didn't know if I should post this in GPU or Troubleshooting. I recently bought a R9 270, I love it and does what I want it to do well however it makes a lot of noise. I have been monitoring it with MSI Afterburner. It runs at about 50-55 degrees celsius while gaming however the fan speed and RPM graphs do not go up but the cards noise does. I just want to double check everything is fine.

Two weeks ago i bought an R9 270 to upgrade my ageing rig. Just recreantly i have been experiencing lag spikes when the GPU is at around 99% (both through MSI Kombuster and Crisis 2). I have restarted multiple times, updated the drivers and im still having no success. Does any one have any suggestions as what could be causing it and how to fix it.

Hey guys, Next month i'll add a card in my case... But for now on I don't know which one to choose ... I have this card : http://www.materiel.net/carte-graphique/sapphire-radeon-hd-7870-oc-2-go-76769.html And I would add a 270(http://www.ldlc.com/fiche/PB00157795.html) or 270x(http://www.ldlc.com/fiche/PB00154992.html). I looked at some review of both cards and the difference is very small.... Knowing that in a cf the frequence will lower to be equal to the slowest one I don't know what to choose ... Thanks

Hey guys i am going to buy a r9 270 card tomarrow for my first build. And i needed help deciding which is the best r9 270 card out there i heard a lot of good things about the ASUS card but i honestly like how the MSI gaming 270 card looks also the sapphire dual x is giving away BF4 for free when you buy it, also the gigabyte and xfx Double D seem cool. But i honestly like how the MSI looks and i also heard that is a beast overclocker. So tell me which one do you think its the beast all opinions are respected and appreciate it. Also make sure to tell me which one is more quite and which one has a bette cooler sorry for me beign a noob but i am trying to change lol.

Here's what I have already built last year http://pcpartpicker.com/p/uHJE. Would I need to upgrade my Power supply for the R9 270? Will my CPU bottleneck my GPU?

Source: http://videocardz.com/47856/amd-radeon-r9-270-arrives-november-13th So basically... It's a R9 270X (Or a 7870) with lower clocks. Same everything except for the clock speeds. At only $179 though and on the same level and in some cases higher than a GTX 660, that's some pretty cool value. 1080P gaming is becoming very, very cheap.

There are sooooo many 3rd party coolers for GPU's now a days it gets really hard to choose. I plan on getting a R9 270, but I can't which one. I really like the Asus and MSI cooling option because they go with the color scheme of my rig, but the Sapphire option cost less for what is the same thing. I would like to know which of the coolers run the coolest (all options for the r9 270). Also, which cooler overclocks the best (same thing as the coolest). thx for reading http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814202090 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814125491 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814127769 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814121823 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814150687

Alright, so two days ago i installed an MSI r9 270 in my mates rig (i3 3220, 600W TR2, 4 GB, gigabyte b75 mobo, 2 TB hdd) anyway, so i installed the card then installed the latest drivers i could find on the AMD website (14.4). It worked fine for the two days only issue where some horizontal lines in skyrim if you looked real close, so he goes to turn his machine on this morning and nothing, the cpu fan spins, the case fans spin, the fans on the card spin but no boot. I disconnected the card and used the integrated graphics and after boot this message comes up on the desktop that " catalyst control center is not compatible with this version of the driver" or something like that. After some thought i ran the amd clean uninstall tool and after was able to boot with the card installed but after i tried to install drivers from the msi website and the samething happened and now amd clean uninstall doesn't seem to work. What i've tried: reinstalling 14.4 drivers from amd website installing and reinstalling drivers from msi website using amd clean uninstall system restore using a different hard drive to boot from(though this hdd is kinda messed up) My question is after all that is there something i missed or is the card just defective, i really hope there is a way to fix it than to have to suggest a return. Any suggestions will be appreciated

Hello people, i was just wondering if a 500w psu is enough for my build. My pc is going to have a sapphire r9 270 dual-x, fx-6300, 1x8gb(probably would get another dem in the future) 1600 mhz cl10 ram, x2 120mm and x1 140mm case fans and a micro atx am3+ mobo. Btw, the psu is a 500w evga 80plus certified psu. Thanks.

Hello users of the forum, I am planning on buying a gaming pc and am thinking about buying this computer from Costco: http://m.costco.com/HP-Pavilion-500t-Desktop-%7C-Intel-Core-i5-.product.100122032.html And pairing it with this r9 270 graphics card: http://m.newegg.com/Product/index?itemnumber=14-127-769 I'll probably need to upgrade the power supply so which 500w would you guys reccomend? I'd like to keep the psu cost under $50, closer to $30. Will this graphics card fit and be compatible with this computer? I will overclock the gpu, so is 500w enough? Btw building my own is not an option. Thanks for all the help!

Hello i'm Building this AMD budget build. My budget is around 600$. I'm buying in Denmark where the prices is a bit higher and that build would cost around 800$ here and that's my real budget. I'm going to play Far Cry 3, Cs:GO, Battlefield and tons of other games. I'm a bit in a trouble becouse i don't know if i should go with the option to run Crossfire later. The Motherboard that can run crossfire has a 16x and a 16x(4 mode) so i'm scared of loosing performance. I'm also choosing between the Prodigy M by BitFenix and a 200R by Corsair. The Prodigy M is running in M-ATX so i can't run crossfire with my budget ( the dual PCI-e 16x is too damn expensive) The Build is this: PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant CPU: AMD FX-6300 3.5GHz 6-Core Processor ($108.99 @ SuperBiiz) Motherboard: MSI 970A-G43 ATX AM3+ Motherboard ($69.98 @ OutletPC) Memory: Corsair Vengeance LP 8GB (1 x 8GB) DDR3-1600 Memory ($86.99 @ Amazon) Storage: Seagate Barracuda Green 2TB 3.5" 5900RPM Internal Hard Drive ($35.00) Video Card: MSI Radeon R9 270 2GB TWIN FROZR Video Card ($159.99 @ Newegg) Case: Corsair 200R ATX Mid Tower Case ($49.99 @ Newegg) Power Supply: Cooler Master Silent Pro Gold 800W 80+ Gold Certified Semi-Modular ATX Power Supply ($35.00) Other: Windows 8.1 ($23.00) Other: BitFenix Prodigy M Other: ASRock 960GM/U3S3 FX Total: $568.94 Prices is not from the retailers that will be used Generated by PCPartPicker 2014-07-24 07:27 EDT-0400 EDIT: The Seagate Drive is a St2000DM001 7200RPM drive not a 5900RPM.

I was looking at my local advertisements (Kijiji). And I stumbled upon this R9 270 for $100. I was able to bring the price down to $90 from the owner. The only reason I was looking is because I currently have an EVGA GTX 660 SC and I cannot do surround with dual monitors. I know dual monitors are not worth to invest into playing games with them but the R9 270 beats the GTX 660 and the price is pretty good in my opinion. Also AMD's Eyeinfinity allows dual monitors to work which is a win win. Do you guys think this card is good for $90? If I don't like the card I can always sell it back for around $80 and basically get my money back as it retails for like $179.99 in Canada. Opinions?

Hello LTT members, I spent a good couple of hours researching my new graphics card and I can't seem to decide which would be the best value for money: GTX 750TI vs GTX 660 vs R7 265 vs R9 270. I know we are not talking about glamorous 780s of 290s here, but this is as far as my budget goes. I know that in terms of price they are about the same, the R9 270 is at least 20$ above the others. Sapphire R9 270 Dual-X OC & Boost, 2GB 2. Sapphire Radeon R7 265 Dual-X 2GB 3. Zotac GTX660 Synergye Edition 2GB 4. MSI N750Ti TF 2GD5/OC Gaming 2GB However, I am more interested in performance. Looking on on this they didn't really include all the cards in this budget in the benchmark.Soo, what do you think, which is the best performer for the best price ? I am inclined to go for the GTX 660 because somehow I always had NVidia cards, but I don't know if it has the same performance as the 270 with Mantle.

So finally decided to get another graphics card (had a 750 ti previously) and am planning on upgrading slightly to a r9 270 with plans of a slight overclock. Like everyone else i wanted to reduce the chances of a DOA so i started reading reviews, and i read and read and read.....been at it for a couple days. And i gotta say this shit can make a buyer paranoid as hell, first choice was sapphire but didn't like the listed fan speeds under load, then is was MSI which had good fan speed but an issue of oil leaking from their fans, then it was powercolor which seems nice, nice cooler and aesthetics but i find the bracket a bit ugly and lastly was XFX which was plain to look at but of all had the least negative reviews. All that isn't even considering the professional reviews which are sometimes conflicting as hell ( one reviewer compared a 270 to a 750 ti) and the 270 was supposedly overclocked. So what am i taking away from all this...........NOT MUCH, cept that the r9 270 is still the card i want despite what anyone says, still gonna overclock and i wish manufactures had a way test functionality at least a little to reduce DOAs. Gonna be ordering soon and going to cross my fingers and pray to Tech God that my card is a good one. Amen

Been without a gpu for too long, tried playing skyrim on integrated graphics with i put up with for a while until i used fraps (curse you fraps) needless to say what has been seen cannot be unseen, and once i saw 10-13 fps i lost my will to play until i could get a decent enough gpu. So all that aside decided on an MSI R9 270 which will be overclocked, did some checking and it looks like it really can beat the 270x(by like 1-2 fps) once overclocked. Considered getting a GTX 760 but that price( could do it but at the cost of all my upgrade cash). Anywho was just curious on what you guys' opinion on all this.................. Let the comments and fanboyism fly.
