Hi, this probably seems like a stupid question. I have an MSI R9 270 (not a 270x), but very little money right now (about $50). I'd like a little more GPU horsepower, and would like to look on the second-hand market. I've heard that a 270 will crossfire with any hd 7800 series card (7850 or 7850), Is this correct and is it worth if I'm going to be paying almost nothing.

my current msi gtx 750ti is went down 2 times within 8 months i got 2 brand new cards for replace but somehow its broken now. is it a manufacture problem or mine? and i hope to get 960 as my replace i have to pay a bit for it. or should i get r9 270x ? for both gaming and editing purpose. special for video editing.

GTX 750ti 2gb ($100-125) r9 270 (I can get my friend to sell me his. I would offer $125 unless that's too much) MSI GTX 960 100ME ($169 flat refurb- 2 yr warranty) Or do I just say screw it and wait to buy a EVGA GeForce GTX 960 4GB ($200-225) These are all of my options. I am very Dutch when it comes to spending money and I have a idea of how much money I am willing to spend. Really don't want to spend $200 on a 960 4gb.. Last resort really. I hope you guys understand that. I play GTA5/TF2/L4D2/Cs 1.6/CS:GO/Minecraft Any idea as to which to chose?

Just wondering is it possible to buy a backplate for the Asus R9 270. If not can you put a backplate from a R9 270x or 280.

Ok So about 3 days ago i was playing an average game of CSGO on my computer i was currently dead in a round so i decided to pull up youtube on my second monitor it was going fine for 20 seconds then my audio derped around and went back to normal once i started playing again Later that round my frame rates dropped suddenly and went back up... finally my audio crashed like it would in gmod and both of my monitors went red with faint horizontal lines. But thats not all After rebooting it did the same thing but after that. Windows didn't load... at all So i went and took a blast to the past of good old 2009 with a clean install of windows 7 installed the drivers for my mother board a gigabyte z97x sli "Ultra Durable" and it went fine, Then i went to the load up csgo in steam, Didn't play.. so i said to myself "Oh wait, i forgot the drivers" So i installed my Radeon drivers like i usual do for my R9 270 and i restarted my computer aaaaand she's not booting windows... Fudge.. Do the same things windows 7 mobo drivers, but i try to install windows 10 and it just won't install for the life of itself. So i format the drive and only install windows 7 and the mobo drivers. It's working fine At this point my HDMI is STILL running through the card and displaying video but won't play games, like CS 1.6 a game that came out in the year 2001 CAN'T GET MORE THAN 5 FPS?!? At this point i believe either my Video card or HDD has something wrong with it. I have more of a primary believe upon my GPU being dead but i'm not sure and i haven't gotten a chance to test everything If there is any tips or tricks you know of that would help me in this situation that would be great Also confirming my GPU is dead would be nice too. Considering im still running video through it and my Deviece manager is not picking it up im sooo confused right now Thanks for your time to read this guys! Mean a lot coming from a scrub like me. -SwitchTheBit

DVI and HDMI are not working on my new msi r9 270, as the monitors don't even turn on when my computer boots. Any ideas on how to fix this would be highly appreciated. My integrated still work, and i've tried installing the drivers many times but something goes wrong in the install.

So I did have a blower design EVGA 2BG GTX 670 which died on me over the weekend. So I got my R9 270 which I had in a spare PC, and put that in my main, this is the one: http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00GI2XJM0?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_search_detailpage But it's in a Fractal Design Node 202, and it gets to like 97 degrees after 20 minutes of gaming at 1440p. I'm going to add two fans to the case to try and help it as it's not a rear-exhaust, so hopefully that will cool the temps down. But I'm considering if I should just upgrade to something like a GTX 970? - (I only have a 450w SFX PSU that came with the Node 202). For now the performance seems ok still, just very hot and I'm not comfortable with the temps being at + 85. Could I get someone else's thoughts?

as of late my 270 seems to hate games, and i've tried to narrow it down to see if certain games, applications and even drivers were causing it to act up, it's most notable when playing fallout 4 with the latest update, as it can't go 5 minutes without freaking out, and i thought that was the only game as i've been playing a lot of it lately, but it's also happened, when i was playing grid autosport, so far the games it hasn't happened to is dirt rally, dirt 3, and battlefield BC2. it has also happened when stressing the GPU with AIDA64, to see if it was thermal related but it never goes above 75c, and i've gone through the 2 crimson drivers and tried out catalyst 15.11.1 and i used DDU to remove the drivers, and i've even thought it was a system memory related issue from using single channel memory but i've added another DIMM but it's still happening, and it's just doing my head in as i've taken the heatsink off to see if a capacitor blew, double and triple checked the PCI-E slot and power cable, but all firmly in place, and while i wasn't expecting much as i bought the card 2nd hand i hope it's not a possible dud as i was hoping to get a least a year out of it, i am going to try a complete fresh install just to see if it was software related causing it. thank you if anyone can shed some light on this.

I have an R9 270 and i want to connect three monitors. It says that one of the connections must be DP but it wont work with a DP to DVI cable or a DP to HDMI cable. Do i need an adapter or a DP monitor or am I just doing something wrong. Thanks for the help.

I am building a new pc and I have very little experience. I would like to get the asus R9 270 but I am getting a AMD athlon X4 860K as a CPU. Would this work well together or will the CPU just bottle neck the graphics card. I have a very tight budget of about £400 and I plan to play games like minecraft, CSGO, Dirt 3 etc.. Please help.

Hello everyone I'm saving up for an R9 270, and I currently have an AMD A10-6800K. I've read and seen people say that it was best to get a standalone processor for a GPU upgrade. and others say just disable the onboard graphics. I'm pretty sure the CPU portion of the A10-6800K is equivalent to the X4 760K. Should I just disable my onboard graphics on my APU? Or should I get a standalone processor along with the GPU?

Hi guys! So I;m looking to make myself a nice gaming rig at a sweet spot price I need your guys' opinion, shall I get the GTX 750 Ti or the R9 270? Which version of these cards as well? My CPU will be a FX-6300, MOBO a Asus M5A97 R2.0 and some HyperX Fury 4GBx2 1600 MHz RAM. The monitor I will most likely be using is my 720p monitor (which still looks fantastic, though only 19 inches). I'm also very interested in getting into YouTube and doing some recording This then brings up the question, Shadowplay(750 Ti) or Dxtory(R9 270) for recording. Your thoughts on that as well please Please feel free to ask me any questions or suggest any other good GPUs for me. Thank you everyone

Well, my not-so-old R7 250 passed away, so, taking that fact i'm wanna go for an upgrade, for an R9 270. I really doesn't want so much horsespower, mostly cuz i'm play not-so demanding games. But at the same time I make other like demanding tasks, so I just want sure that I have enough GPU power. Tthat's why the R9 270. Hits my sweet spot for my demands. So, Wich brand do you recomend? My taks can run perfectly on 1Gb GDDR5 with room to spare, but i'm quite not sure how will perfom in GDDR3. My intial option was Asus ones with DirectCU2, but Gigabyte ones are quite neat also.

I have a Sapphire R9 270X 2Gb Dual-X OC card and have several times tried to overclock it. When i overclock the card i get worse score's in benchmark software's and worse performence in games. I've tried a bunch of different oc settings. I have oc with, and used: AMD Catalyst and Sapphire Trixx. 3D Mark Firestorm, Furmark and Cinebench. I've notice performence drops in pretty much all games i play. A few examples are: Arma 3 (major drops) Battlefield Hardline Far Cry 3 and 4 War Thunder Eve Online What am i doing wrong? Or do i have a "worse than average" card? PSU - CM 550w 80 bronze Gigabyte 970A-DS3P AMD FX-6300

So I recently grabbed a second r9 270 for my system, and set it up in crossfire with my first r9 270. But I just noticed that alot of games are actually running worse with crossfire on. My first gpu is having ALL of its memory used in crossfire, but when I turn it off, and play the same game, the memory usage goes down to about half, and my FPS goes up by like 15fps in some games. Im stumped, can I get some help? System specs.
