Hey guys, so I just installed the EVGA hybrid cooler for my gtx 1080 and am loving the drastic drop in temps. What I am not loving though, is the annoyingly loud fan. I used MSI Afterburner to set a custom fan curve and its bottoming out at 27% but its still fairly loud and annoying (I have my pc under my desk next to me for reference). So at this point I have the fan at its lowest rpm and its still too loud for me, does that mean I should probably just consider replacing the stock EVGA fan with an aftermarket one? or is there a way to further decrease the rpm so it wont be so loud. Personally, I think its just a crappy fan, so I'll probably end up replacing it. Any fan suggestions? Thanks

I am running a i7-6700 in my current rig with the stock cooler. However under load it is a bit noisier then I would prefer. My case is the Corsair Air 240. I have been looking around PC part picker and dug up the Cryorig C7 CR-C7A. Just wondering if you guys would recommend something better suited for my needs. Plz don't bash me for wanting to put a aftermarket cooler on a locked CPU

Hey there Im looking for a few fans for my new build that Im not planning on overclocking. I want quiet and good looking fans, so ugly (although very good) noctua fans are out of question. I saw the noctua Industrial fans and I really like how they look, but Im worried that theyre too loud. Id be happy for a few recommendations of good looking and quiet fans. Thanks for the help

Hi! I'm going to build a new pc. My old one is starting to get old and it's making a lot of noise. I've therefore decided to make the most quiet configuration, that can keep the pc relatively cooled. I've made 4 configuration suggestions and I need someone more experienced than myself to have a look at it. I'm repurposing some old parts. A gigabyte sniper m3 motherboard, Intel i5-3570k processor, 2x4 Gb corsair vengance RAM and ASUS geforce gtx 760 graphics card. Everything else is changeable. It's going to be a light gaming PC, so I'm thinking that I'll run it on standard clock speed.P.S. I know it's called noctua, not noctura.Config. 1 Config. 2 Config. 3 Config. 4

I have the front speaker out, split with a Y splitter from the green jack going to the speaker below the satellite speaker and to it as well. What I noticed was when I have have both of them turned on the lows go missing and when I have either of them on the lows come back from those speakers currently on. Random note* Sub and center speaker is from blue Jack instead I have 2 things going on in my head, something to do with the change in resistance or speakers canceling each other out but this seems unlikely to be perfectly out of phase from each other. Some help would be appreciated

Hi guys, a while ago I noticed that my graphics card get's really hot and starts using 90% of fan speed (I have RX480 8GB MSI gaming X variant). If I take off a side panel of my PC it get's 20C cooler and also fans almost stop spinning making it absolutely silent (what I was trying to reach for a while). Maybe you guys can recommend a good case which would cool my graphics card and be as quiet as possible (Full ATX case would be needed). Also that wouldn't cost a kidney to buy...

Hello, everyone! Im making a Cabinet to hold a entertainment system. It will hold a PC a video switch, a ups, cable box, and maybe a dvd player? The cabinet currently has absolutely no vent holes. I wanted to drill holes in bottom to intake 3 120mm fans for pc and 1 120mm intake on side for dvd player and cable box and two 120mm exhaust fans on top. What im worried about is my pc pulls 3 120mm fans intake so I want to match the intake into the cabinet but there is only room for 2 exhaust fans at top because of how cabinet is made. Will 4 intake and 2 Exhaust fans be too extreme positive pressure? I want my computer to have plenty of air flow but can only have 2 exhaust fans. Will this put too much pressure on the fans making them wear out? Will cutting air vents on top for the air to escape help? Please help not sure what to do. Also I wantto use super quiet fans (Thinking noctua) What would you recommend static pressure, or airflow?

So my system is as follows Case: Fractal Design Arc Mini R2 (matx mid tower case) CPU: i7-7700K (OC, 5.1ghz 1.425v) CPU Cooler: ThermalTake Water 3.0 Ultimate 360mm (in roof of case, exhausting out of top, in push config). GPU: GTX 1080 Ti (+150core +500mem, max powerlimits etc) GPU Cooler: EVGA Hybrid Kit (120mm AIO cooler thing) So, the issue is with the GPU AIO cooler, no matter which config i place it in, it causes issues, either for itself, or for the CPU. The only position it can go in is the front of the case. If it's Intake, the GPU doesnt go over 50c, but CPU temps are ~20c higher, and when rendering while gaming this pushes it towards 90c, where it would normally only get to ~70c. The pc gets hot and noisy. If its Exhaust, the CPU is cool and quiet, but now the GPU runs upto 70c, and throttles roughly 150mhz (making the OC pointless) due to GPU boost. Putting GPU fans on 100% drops this down to 65c. The radiator itself is incredibly hot (painful to touch for more than a couple seconds), and it makes my room smell of burning dust (not the nicest smell). Any tips?

In my system the psu fan is the loudest thing by far i want to replace it. I know i snip the wires and replace with another fan but i dont want to do all that work. I have 2 casefans running low noise and slow speed. Can i just remove the psu fan, flip the psu facing up and tape one of my casefans ontop of it leaving it run from the motherboard? the air coming out of my psu is cold to the touch. my cpu OC maxes at 48C and my gpu at 65C, so i have some headroom to miss one Casefan. - Will the psu even power on, or not start cause it senses it has no fan attached? - Will one casefan cool it enough knowing right now it is cold air coming out of the psu. - Will it make any accoustic improvement facing it up? Hope you guys can help me. thx alrdy

Basically what the title is asking, is that specific power supply a good one? It is rated at 80+ Silver as well. I am getting it for my soon-to-be i3 2130 and GT 1030 gaming build, which will have upgrades for a i5 2500k / i7 2600k, GTX 1050 (maybe) and 16gb ram. I don't need over 550w, but I am on a budget. The BeQuiet unit fits perfectly under my budget and my aesthetic perfectly, has black cables, and I've heard everywhere praise BeQuiet for being good, so I am making sure. Yay or nay?

SO I built this machine, which is almost 2 (!) years old now, and I'm bored of it: CPU: Intel - Core i7-6700K 4.0GHz Quad-Core Processor (£284.99 @ Aria PC) CPU Cooler: Noctua - NH-U12S 55.0 CFM CPU Cooler (£51.83 @ CCL Computers) Motherboard: Gigabyte - GA-Z170-HD3P ATX LGA1151 Motherboard (£109.48 @ More Computers) Memory: Kingston - HyperX Fury Black 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR4-2133 Memory (£119.99 @ Amazon UK) Storage: Samsung - 850 EVO-Series 500GB 2.5" Solid State Drive (£131.94 @ Aria PC) Storage: Western Digital - BLACK SERIES 2TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive (£109.99 @ Amazon UK) Video Card: Gigabyte - GeForce GTX 960 4GB Video Card (£149.99) Case: Corsair - 100R Silent ATX Mid Tower Case (£50.99 @ Amazon UK) Power Supply: be quiet! - 400W 80+ Bronze Certified ATX Power Supply (£50.00) Total: £1059.20 I'd like to spend up to £750 (GBP) sprucing it up a little. The only things I'm absolutely set on recycling in this new build is the processor, the memory, & the power supply. I'm basically happy to get rid of the other parts. Parts I was thinking about & would like some advice on: - Most important: Less noise, preferably an inaudible PC. My WD Black 2TB is so unbearably noisy. I want to completely get rid of it & get a Seagate Firecuda or something. Unless anyone has other suggestions? - 2nd most important: New smaller/cube case under 420mm height (if there are any hot new small cases anyone's found lately, please send links!). I like the look of this silverstone case. - New micro/mini ATX mobo to fit in a smaller case. I was thinking of the Asus ROG Strix Z270I gaming mini ITX. Good choice? - Can someone please suggest to me a GPU (1060 or 1070) which is basically fanless/inaudible unless needed for gaming/rendering? (I have a 1080p monitor) So I'm sitting in my room now & while it's pretty quiet, I can really hear the general whirr of the case fans, CPU cooler, GPU cooler & PSU fans. And I don't want to hear any of it. I've worked a lot in recording studios & my reference point is the Mac Pro from many years ago, which, even if you go right up to it, it's still completely inaudible when idle. I'd like to get as close to that as possible. Maybe I sound insane but I basically want a PC which I can neither hear nor see. (as far as that's possible) thanks all

I've done a lot of research for this and I've come to no conclusion. I need this for a msi gs63VR, which are known for having very loud hard drives. It'll be used in quiet classrooms so that will cause unwanted attention. I need a 1tb drive too, so ssd's are out of the question because since i just bought the laptop, I am flat broke. Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

Hi all! I currently have in my system the stock fans that came with my NZXT s340 case and Kraken x61 radiator. They cool fine and haven't broken, but they are loud, so loud that when I measured my system while gaming, it measured 55 decibels! After much research, I have decided that I think i will replace my 2 radiator fans and my 2 case fans with Be Quiet! Silent Wings 3 140mm PWM. This is an expensive investment for fans, but worth it to me if it means very quiet performance while still cooling just fine and the possibility of moving these fans to future cases. I am not looking to set world records for cooling, I just want my components to be cooled well enough to keep their current overclocks. I have an Intel i5 600k overclocked to 4.5Ghz and an MSI GTX 1070 Gaming 8G overclocked to 1873Mhz. Both run stably and the cpu never goes above ~60-65C and the gpu never goes above ~70-74C when in stress tests. My question: will the Be Quiet! Silent Wings 3 maintain my performance and also give me quieter operation and better control? Thank you!

Hiya! I currently have some random 5 1/4" bay reservoir/pump, and it's loud as fuck. The rest of my PC is relatively quiet--the fans whisper with the same volume as your lover as she leans over to sensually whisper into your ear to say that she's leaving you for someone else, and some of the components have fans that stay turned off even more than my gf--but this water pump is a monster truck in comparison. Does anyone know of a good, QUIET pump for a liquid cooling setup? Currently my loop includes 2 3x120mm rads, CPU, and VRM. I would like to add the GPU into the loop, and am not opposed to removing the VRM from the loop if it's too much water to push through. Any thoughts/suggestions would be helpful. Also, does anyone know more about the waterblock featured at the end of this video? Thank-you all! -Sephiroth

So I'm currently running a 770 EVGA Superclocked, which is fine performance wise. The main issue with the card is that it is pretty audible at all times, and the fan cannot run below 41% for some reason. I'm pretty sure it's locked in the BIOS, which I'm not really comfortable flashing. I have someone that would be willing to give me $100 for the card, which is what they appear to be going for now on eBay. All I really want is a card with similar performance, that is quieter. I truthfully don't even game that often, so performance is less important to me than noise. I have a pretty cheap PC case that has a lot of holes for fan mounting, so it lets a lot of noise out. From what research I've done, the 1050 TI seems to be the perfect pick. It should give me about the same performance, while only costing me $40-45 more. So with that being said, does anyone have a particular model they would recommend? Looking at PC Part Picker, there are quite a few models within a few dollars of each other. I'm not sure if a model with one or two fans would be quieter. I know that there are some that are actually passive most of the time, but those seem to be a little pricier. Let me know what you think. I also have a pretty powerful PSU, so external power isn't an issue. Also feel free to recommend another card if you think you have a better idea. I don't really have a preference beside the cost and noise. I just plan on using this card for 1080p, and I usually play games that are a few years old anyway.

Hey, Looking to rebuild my system in a new case and I wanna do noise right this time. Money is not an issue but i dont wanna splurge either, im not a hugely noise sensitive but id like them to be quiet. My budget tops out at about $20 a fan, I need 2x fans for my ancient h100 (not the i) and then case fans. Thanks!

Hey guys (and girls), I'm kind of in need of a new case as a while back I got a GPU that was a lot bigger than my old one and it now barely fits in my current case, plus this case is pretty low quality and doesn't look too nice and it's awful for cable management... Basically, I'm looking for a case that would comfortably fit a Windforce GPU in it, I'm torn between getting the Corsair 400C (I'm not a fan of the inverted 600c) or the NZXT S340 but I'm open to suggestions that would be within my budget, I'm slightly leaning towards the corsair because of the included fan. The case must: 1. look good on top of a white desk, so anything white or black will do. Preferably with a window. 2. be a decent size so I can have good cable management and airflow 3. be around (or under) 90-100 EUROS (this must include shipping) 4. have holes for Audio and Microphone on the top or front Thanks in advance for any help! Dylan.

On my quest for a quiet computer, I've been able to find and replace most of the noise in my computer. My main issue at this point is the fan on my power supply. I'm currently running an EVGA Supernova 750 B2, which is a high quality power supply, but is the only noise I can really hear in my case. Are their any reasonably priced power supplies that are known to be quiet? Downsizing would be okay, but I'd like to keep it modular if possible. Specs: i5 4590 RX 470 2 x 4 GB, may upgrade to 4 x 4 Hyper 212 EVO 2 120MM Fans 2 Hard Drives + SSD 2 Optical Drives (I could take the DVD drive out)

I've build myself a gaming rig, but I've found out that my 250GB Samsung Evo 850 is limitting me now, since I can't store all my games on it (duh). So... I'm looking to buy a 2TB harddrive to store all my games on (Steam + Origin library, and some other games). I have a quiet build now, so I want a quiet hdd. My case got some kind of rubber bands in the hdd trays, so I guess that will help me keeping it quiet. I've found out that the WD Blacks are pretty noisy (34dB in seek-mode), and the WD Reds are actually one of the most quiet hdd's (24dB in seek-mode). I do know that the blacks are spinning at 7200rpm and the red's at 5400rpm, but according to Western's site, that differs not more than 20MB/s. (size, rpm, max write speeds, idle noise, seek noise) (black/red/blue) 2TB, 7200rpm, 164MB/s, 29dB, 34dB 2TB, 5400rpm, 147MB/s, 23dB, 24dB 2TB, 5400rpm, 147MB/s, 21dB, 27dB Would it suck to get a RED drive for a desktop computer? Will I see (dramatic) performance in-/decreases? What would your guys advice be for a quiet build? Sources: WD Black WD Red WD Blue

Hey peeps! So I have bought a Steelseries Apex M500 for my new rig, and I love it. My girl, dont like it as much. Cherry mx red switches are so loud and clicky, that she cant sleep if Im working late nights. But I like the keyboard, and dont rly wanna buy another one, but fear that I have to. Can I silence this keyboard in any way? I have heard about switching cherry mx switches, as cherry mx red silent apparently is a thing? And I read about som o-rings or something, that can do the trick, and also make the Keys more rapid (dunno what thats about tho)? If possible, is soldering needed (as some mentioned)? Anyway, I would appreciate any solution to this. Thanks for all help.
