Hi everyone, I am planning to get two 780 tis in SLI and i was just wondering if anyone knows the quietest cooler for the 780ti, I was looking at the ACX versions from EVGA but im just making sure. The stock 'TITAN' coolers are pretty much out of the question as i have a red rig.

I am going to be building a mini-itx gaming/video editing rig and want to replace the stock fans in the Bitfenix Prodigy with either the Noctua NF-S12A's or the NF-P12's. I would like to get quiet operation without sacrificing performance. I believe that Noctua fans can do just that but I don't know which fans I should go with. By the way, yes I know one of them is a static pressure fan, but on the Noctua website it says both are good for case fans. ---> http://www.noctua.at/main.php?show=which_fan_is_right_for_me&lng=en (Also, I believe that some of the Noctua fans come with splitters so I could use two fans while only using one motherboard chassis fan mount. Is this true? If so, which fans does this come with? Using Maximus VI Impact if that helps.) Thanks!

so im on the hunt for a color changing 140 mm case fan that isn't noisy. is that too much to ask for? i would prefer if i could switch between all 256 colors, but really I just want to be able to change the color of my computer every so often if i want to. it seems to me that if i wanted a rainbow fan that's quiet i should be able to get it.surely i cant be the only person to want a multicolored case. i know nzxt has the hue, but i hear the LEDs don't stick to well and i kind of want a fan not an LED strip. does anyone know of one?

Hello Everyone, I need your help, so I am planning on building a small form factor gaming pc with the following components. I am partial to the gtx 770 but am open to suggestions. I do not play MMO's and would like to run almost any other popular game on a 1920x1080 Monitor on ultra at 40+ fps. My absolute max for this pc is $1500, but I would prefer to keep it around 1400 USD (not including peripherals). I am planning to over clock a little bit, not too heavy though. Here is my parts list (There is link at the bottom to PC Part Picker): CPU: Intel i5-4670k -- I think this is pretty much set in stone. I am open to suggestions, but I like this CPU. GPU: Galaxy GeForce GTX 770 2GB -- I like the GTX 770 and I picked this aftermarket card because it looks sexy in white (Yes I realize you can get other cards like the Asus gtx 770 for cheaper) Again I am open to suggestions, but I think this card will suit my needs well. PSU: Corsair Gaming Series 700 Watt RAM: Corsair Vengeance 16 GB -- I want 16gb 1600mhz ram and I you suggest other ram like crucial ballistix, please explain why you chose it over the vengeance. CPU Cooler: Phanteks U-Type Dual Tower Heat-Sink PH-TC12DX Black -- I love the look and performance of this CPU cooler, but if there is a thinner, high quality case available I will change it to fit the case. Motherboard: Z87 LGA 1150 mATX motherboard -- I am not sure about this choice, if you have a better option please suggest it. Case: Fractal Design Arc Mini -- I am currently using this case because it looks sexy. I would like a smaller case for easier travel though, and would like recommendations as to high quality small and portable cases. I am willing to spend more money on the case if it means better portability and quality. HDD: WD Blue 1 TB 7200 RPM SSD: Samsung 840 Pro Series 128GB Case Fans: Fractal Design Silent Series R2 Fans to match the case -- if I change cases i will likely change fans PC Parts Picker Link: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/26iD6%C2'> As I said I am looking for a case smaller than the arc mini, but still high quality case (hopefully just as sexy as the Fractal Design Cases). I am change CPU cooler and gnu if it will mean a smaller case for better portability. I also don't know about the motherboard so some advice on that would be great. Any advice is appreciated, thanks in advance for your help!

Hey guys! With Black Friday right around the corner, I feel it's a great time to upgrade from my current "gaming" laptop. I want to get a new PC for gaming and music production, plus the occasional video editing. This is my first ever desktop build. I mostly play CSGO but I also like giving the "bigger" games a try. First of all, my budget - About 1000€. (Right now, the components I'm going to list are about 1300, but I hope I can get them for 1000 or less on Black Friday) I have never overclocked in my life, but after looking at a couple tutorials I really want to try it out, as it doesn't seem as complicated as I thought it would be. For the next couple of weeks, I'm going to keep the Hyper 212 EVO and try getting the CPU to about 4.0GHz, and after that, I plan on buying an XSPC Raystorm 750 EX240 and get it a little higher. (Would 4.4 work? What about 4.6?) PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant / Benchmarks CPU: Intel Core i5-4670K 3.4GHz Quad-Core Processor ($225.99 @ NCIX US) CPU Cooler: Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO 82.9 CFM Sleeve Bearing CPU Cooler ($29.98 @ OutletPC) Motherboard: Asus MAXIMUS VI GENE Micro ATX LGA1150 Motherboard ($192.99 @ NCIX US) Memory: Corsair Vengeance Pro 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR3-1600 Memory ($139.50 @ Newegg) Storage: Samsung 840 EVO 120GB 2.5" Solid State Disk ($99.98 @ OutletPC) Storage: Seagate 2TB 3.5" 7200RPM Hybrid Internal Hard Drive ($134.29 @ Amazon) Video Card: MSI GeForce GTX 760 2GB Video Card ($249.99 @ Newegg) Case: Corsair 350D Window MicroATX Mid Tower Case ($79.99 @ Microcenter) Power Supply: Corsair RM 750W 80+ Gold Certified Fully-Modular ATX Power Supply ($109.99 @ Microcenter) Total: $1262.70 (I wish. Actually about 1050GBP on Amazon UK) (Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available.) (Generated by PCPartPicker 2013-11-20 16:38 EST-0500) I'm trying to decide between the GA-Z87MX-D3H or the Asrock Z87M Extreme4, but I read bad things about both. If I can get a nice discount on BF, I'll probably go with a Maximus VI GENE, but right now I want opinions on the 2 cheaper mobos. I know 550W of power would do the job, but I'm planning to SLI in the near future. I'm looking forward to your comments, Thank you!

I currently have two Corsair SP120 Performance fans and they are too loud. I bought a fan controller to use instead of using the software on my motherboard, but they're still too loud, so I need some new fans. I don't want to spend more than £30 for two fans, my current choice are the Corsair SP120 Quiet fans (http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=FG-010-CS&groupid=701&catid=2331&subcat=4) what other fans would you recommend?

Hi. I'm planning to build myself a gaming PC. It's going to have a super-quiet liquid cooling setup. The water-cooled components will be: -an Intel Core i7-4790K processor, -and two MSI R9 290X Lightning graphics cards. As for radiators I'm planning to use one Alphacool 80mm thick 240mm radiator and one Alphacool 30mm thick 280mm radiator. The fans are going to be: -four Cougar CFD LED fans on the thick radiator in push-pull configuration (link:http://www.cougar-world.com/products/fans/cfd_blue_led_fan.html) -two Bitfenix Spectre Pro LED fans on the slim radiator in push configuration (link: http://www.bitfenix.com/global/en/products/accessories/spectre-pro-led#specs) My questions are: -Is that going to get me enough heat dissipation? -If yes, then how much overclocking space would I get? -If not, then what would?

Im looking for a really high end air cooler that can cool a 3770K with high voltages (just in case I get a bad chip). I'd like the fan's on it to be very quiet, and to operate at or sub 1100 rpm, as the main goal here is to get similar or better performance to a H110, but at a quieter operation (no pump noise) It'd have to fit in a Fractal Design Arc Midi R2. I am using ram with about 3mm tall heat sinks, so that shouldn't be an issue. My budget is £75, but i could stretch it to £90 if required (including any aftermarket fans). I have no brand preferences, just that the company is well known. Appreciate any suggestions.

Hey I need help trying to find a keyboard that has keys like the cherry mx greens but is quiet. personally I hate the sound of mechanical keyboards but like the amount of pressure it takes to press a mx green.

Hey guys, I'm planning on upgrading my graphics card soon and I need a little help. I have got a Bequiet! pure power 530W power supply and an fx8350 OCd to 4.5GHz at about 1.4V. I'm planning on getting something like an r9 290 but I really doubt that the power supply will be enough. Will it be enough if I set my CPU to stock or should I upgrade my PSU before GPU? This is going to be my first build and I would really appreciate some advice. This is mainly going to be a workstation for application development. Gaming, video editing and 3d rendering might happen but it is not the main purpose of the build. I develop highly concurrent applications so more core is better I prefer stability over balls-to-the-wall performance, so no overclocking is going to happen The build needs to support 3 screens (already have 1, need to buy 2) Monitors should be able to pivot in portrait mode and if possible have a VESA mount. Linux will be the *only* operating system I already have my input peripherals (keyboard and mouse) The build needs to be as quiet as possible Budget is 2000$CAD (canada) Here is what I have so far: PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant CPU: Intel Xeon E3-1240 V3 3.4GHz Quad-Core Processor ($274.98 @ SuperBiiz) CPU Cooler: Noctua NH-U9B SE2 37.9 CFM CPU Cooler ($44.98 @ OutletPC) Motherboard: ASRock Z87 Extreme6 ATX LGA1150 Motherboard ($189.99 @ SuperBiiz) Memory: Crucial Ballistix Elite 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR3-1866 Memory ($162.00 @ Amazon) Storage: OCZ Vertex 460 240GB 2.5" Solid State Drive ($139.99 @ Amazon) Storage: Western Digital Caviar Black 2TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive ($149.35 @ OutletPC) Video Card: EVGA GeForce GTX 750 Ti 2GB Superclocked Video Card ($139.99 @ Amazon) Case: Fractal Design Define R4 (Black Pearl) ATX Mid Tower Case ($89.99 @ Micro Center) Power Supply: SeaSonic G 550W 80+ Gold Certified Semi-Modular ATX Power Supply ($85.98 @ SuperBiiz) Monitor: Dell U2412M 60Hz 24.0" Monitor ($238.49 @ Amazon) Monitor: *Dell U2412M 60Hz 24.0" Monitor ($238.49 @ Amazon) Total: $1754.23 Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available *Lowest price parts chosen from parametric criteria Generated by PCPartPicker 2014-08-01 12:48 EDT-0400 Here are my main questions about this build: Video card: How good are the drivers support under linux? Am I better with ATI or GeForce chipsets? SSD drives... Intel 730 series are considerably more expensive, are they worth it? Motherboard: I don't need overclocking support but high-bandwidth memory support and a lot of room for HD expansion is needed. CPU: I don't care for onboard graphics or overclocking so I went with a Xeon processor, is it a good choice or am I still better with an i7? I plan to expand to 32Gb of memory in the future (hence the 2 x 8Gb dimms) and add more SSDs and HD also. Thanks mo

I was looking at different keyboard options today and I ran into a dilemma being, which Cherry MX keyswitch is best for me (or should I just go for a membrane keyboard like the Cooler Master Devastator Bundle). I would prefer something that is not obnoxiously loud but will provide a good amount of tactile feedback, I will be using it for a variety of different games no genre in particular and a small amount of typing (searching the web). I make YouTube videos and have my microphone close to my keyboard (which is why I don't want it to be loud).

I have been planning to do a Hadron Air build for a while now and have decided to implement these parts: i5 4670k MSI Twin Froz GTX 770 8 GB Patriot Ram ASUS Z97i-PLUS Samsung 840 EVO 128 gb SSD Hadron Air I need help deciding between these two options and please choose not solely based on performance(obviously Noctua has better cooling) but also if the sacrifice of aesthetics is worth the performance. For example, I would only choose the Noctua option over the others if it allows for a significant temperature reduction and noticeable difference in noise (one of the things I hated most about my last build was the noise). Noctua NH-U9B SE2 w/ stock Hadron Air exhaust fans replaced with Noctua NF-S12B (Example build:http://pcpartpicker.com/b/qWNG3C) - If I end up going with Noctua, what lighting (RGB led strip, cold cathodes, etc.) should I use to make the build more bearable/pleasing-to-the-eyes and should I flip the Noctua NF-S12B's to be intake fans for positive pressure within the case to minimize dust? Cooler Master Gemin II S524 w/ Corsair AF/SP 120 Fans - *Although not the best cooler, the large design of the heatsink fan covers up much of the space of the motherboard and hides many cables as shown here:http://pcpartpicker.com/b/qVMp99 (My preferred pick for aesthetics) EVGA mITX Cooler (nearly the same price as Noctua NH-U9B SE2) w/ Red LED Corsair AF 120 Fans - *As can be seen here: https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-awQalCSz4D0/U48M6oWzFdI/AAAAAAAAO08/xd_iD6ndTP8/w1364-h910-no/2.png, this build would look stunning but at nearly the same price as the Noctua set, I am concerned that I may be giving up on a lot of performance (am I?) Notes: I've been having a lot of trouble deciding between these sets, so I would like to learn from you guys's suggestions and experiences. If you want to suggest a certain cooler, fans, or lighting configuration then I would love to hear it! P.S. I'm not saying that the EVGA mITX Cooler is poor in performance as it is used in many Hadron Air builds, but I am interested in knowing if I would be able to benefit noticeably by choosing the less-pretty-in-looks Noctua

Summer/Fall 2014 PC Build Background: Hey LTT Community, I’m planing to build a new system this summer or fall for high-end gaming and rendering/simulating. In October I start my studies in Computational Engineering (Computer simulations/Programming) and might need a powerful pc for some projects, too. As I don’t need the pc immediately, I want to wait until GTX 800 series. I live in Germany so I converted the prices to USD as well. My build so far: My priorities for this new build are high performance, clean looks and silence. My questions: 1. Is my fan setup good this way? I want to prevent dust as much as possible inside the case. I might experiment with the orientation of the rear fan (exhaust / intake). Fans in top (H100i) are in Pull and exhaust. I'll remove the SSD/HDD bays as illustrated in the picture for better airflow and looks. 2. How quiet can I expect the system to be? I would love if it was nearly inaudible. Is this possible with this setup? I know the NH-D14 is quieter but I love the looks of the H100i :-) All comments are appreciated! Thanks for your help guys!

So I have an inWin GT1 case with my custom built PC (I didn't put it together). It currently has a stock case fan pulling air in from the HD bays and a fan pushing air out at the back as well as a stock fan/heatsink on my FX-6350 CPU. After around a year of putting up with it I've finally gotten annoyed and decided it was time to upgrade and try and get the thing a little quieter and I think I sussed that CPU fan is responsible for most of the noise - so I decided to get a Corsair H105 which I think comes with 2 fans on the radiator. My question is what's the best configuration for the fans? I've heard it's best to have more air coming in than going out but having 3 ins to 1 out seems like overkill. Also thoughts on the cooler would be great. Side note - I'm aware it's an AIO water cooler but since my main question was about airflow I thought this would be the best place to put this thread. If it isn't I'd be grateful if a mod could move it to the right place.

I was wondering if there is any good gaming Keyboards that are Extremely quiet, good for gaming and typing, and under $60? Also I am looking for a good gaming mouse, I don't need any mouse buttons, just want a good feeling mouse for under $40. Any advice would help. Thank you.

Hi! I'm looking to upgrade/replace my current build with a mini-ITX one. For the most part I've decided what I want to buy (see the list below) and the parts I'll reuse. What I want is a gaming rig that is good looking, quite small and quiet. My main problem is that to use the H100i I have to remove the ODD slot, and then I can't have the Bitfenix Recon like I want. So I've been looking at alternatives like the H60 and some of the Noctua air coolers, but making this all fit together is a bit beyond me, so some input on this would be appriciated. hey so i am deciding which case fans to use for this case. http://www.nzxt.com/product/detail/117-source-210-elite-case these are the fans i am thinking of. http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/part/corsair-case-fan-co9050006ww http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/part/corsair-case-fan-co9050008ww http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/part/corsair-case-fan-co9050002ww http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/part/corsair-case-fan-co9050004ww i am thinking of adding one to the top and one to the front. as there is a front panel blocking the fans at the front, i was thinking SP would be better than AF but AF for the top. also cant decide between quiet or performance. i have headphones on all the time which will dampen the noise. advice is great. thanks!

http://www.akasa.com.tw/update.php?tpl=product/product.detail.tpl&no=181&type=Fans&type_sub=PWM%20Control&model=AK-FN073 The specs look promising. I'm thinking of using two on a CPU cooler, they have a high maximum CFM for when the CPU goes above 70degrees and I am sure they will spin very quietly at lower RPMs.. Martin did a small review of their 120mm fan but it's a totally different model, that did not fair so well... http://martinsliquidlab.org/2013/05/07/fan-testing-round-12/ This is the closest I can get to have an idea of their performance, it's a Polish review. But you can just look at the graphs and get an idea of what is going on... http://pcfoster.pl/artykul/akasa-venom-medusa-%E2%80%93-test-coolera-cpu/1103-4.html I'm thinking that the actual heatsink is the let down in that review, not the fans. I'm sure they would perform better on say... Prolimatech/Thermalright/Thermaltake heatsink than the stock fans.

Just upgraded about a month ago from a budget build to this. Decided I wanted to go silent for this build and this is how it turned out. Only regret I have atm is the reference blower on the GTX 680 which is the loudest part of my system especially when overclocked. I got a great deal on it and it was a significant upgrade from my old card so I went with it. Now I wish I would have waited for the 770 :(. Oh well. Better just upgrade to a 780 once gigabyte releases a windforce model.... The 4.6ghz CPU OC is 24 hour prime stable with 0 WHEA errors in windows also. Max temp was 88 C. The pics, specs in sig-
