I just bought a new PSU called Aerocool Lux 550w 80bronze plus, It was cheap, so I bought it because it was from Aerocool, but after reading some reviews about it, I had a bad feeling about it because some people said that it burned out and ruined their computer parts, but on Amazon, its rating was good, and the majority said it was good. So should I use it ? If its bad should I use it for few months and replace it? I have : i7-4790 + rtx 3060 + 16gb ram

What it says in the title, what PSU and GPU should I pair with my 7950X3D (thinking on going AMD for GPU but haven't used one since my old RX580). Note that the case may be a limitation but I'm open to modifying this. Budget (including currency): However a GPU and PSU costs nowadays Country: United Kingdom Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Gaming and general use Other details: (currently using a 7950X3D in an MSI X670-P Pro Wi-Fi with 64GB RAM, no peripherals are needed)

So one of my friend has a dell optiplex 9020 with a i5-4750....he wants to a GPU upgrade...to something like a 1050TI or a 1650...but as usual prebuilt pcs have bad psu....or small capacity psu.....the PSU in this pc is a 290w psu so can a PSU upgrade be done on this pc? if so what are the PSUs that can be used for the i5 and lets say a 1650......this pc has a hard drive and a ssd....are there any psus less than 60$ that can be installed in this pc?

After upgrading my 1TB SSD scratch disk to a 4TB one (it's the one that hang), I took a long look at my cable management, and began to whack my brain for 2 months whether I should be getting a custom PSU cables, or mere extension PSU cables. Of course, I'm not talking about it's stock length with sleeved cable; the length and the connectors are tailored to my own system. Example given: My Z590 Vision D accepts 8 and 4 pin ATX/EPS 12V for the CPU. With the stock cable, or sleeved, the connector is always break out in to 4+4, and on my system, the last 4 ATX/EPS12V is unused. My tailored version is, the 8 pin CPU is always solid, no break out, and the other is simply a 4 pin only, no 4+4, just 4 pin. Even my RTX 3080 Trinity OC suffers from this ugly tail, since the 20 series, I do not even use the daisy chain method, it's all dedicated. If you are wondering, my chassis is the NZXT Source 530, the more 'pedestrian' or 'pro' version of the NZXT Phantom 530 (just lack of side fan mount). So is it a chassis issue or should I get custom cable or extension cable is more enough?

Budget (including currency): £1200 Country: United Kingdom Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Games like Cyberpunk 2077, Fallout heavily modded, mainly single player games (mostly rpg or open world) and future upcoming game.. Hi guys, I am currently using a 1440p monitor so I could get the 144hz but I have backed out a LOT from fps gaming and mostly play single player games. CPU: Ryzen 5 3600 GPU: RTX 4080 Motherboard: MPG X570 GAMING PLUS PSU: Corsair RM750x RAM: 16gb 3600 CHIPSET: AM4 Monitor I'm buying: https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B091JJC84Y/?coliid=I7ZG77A2IM6C9&colid=GXI4IRUVER9W&psc=1&ref_=list_c_wl_lv_ov_lig_dp_it I'm going for 31", as this will be the max sized monitor for my room. Small room. I need a new CPU for 4K gaming. Any recommendations? And will I need a PSU upgrade aswell? Yes! I know my GPU is bottlenecked by the 3600. I was saving up money!! after 2 years I finally saved enough for an upgrade!!! Had this rig for years!! Thanks!!

I currently have a system with the specs: AMD R9 7950X NOCTUA NH-D15 CHROMAX MSI MEG X670E ACE G.SKILL NEO DDR5 6000Mhz CL30 64GB NO RGB SAMSUNG 990 PRO 2TB * 3 GIGABYTE AORUS XTREME WATERFORCE RTX 4090 SEASONIC PRIME PX-1600 ATX 3.0 NOCTUA A14 PWM * 5 In a case: Phanteks Enthoo pro 2. One of the reasons for purchasing this case was the size which allows me to put in more hard drives and even a second system. However now, a year later I am planning on putting in a second system in the case but I recently found a little caveat. The case supports a second PSU OR a second system. Not both at the same time. The planned specs of the second system are similar to the first. This means both systems would have to run off of one PSU and I doubt the 1600W PSU is enough. My limited knowledge tells me that I need to look for a 2400W PSU with the size factor of the PRIME. Is my thinking correct and furthermore which PSU offers such specs?

Edit: someone else already bought the GPU. But I still wouldn't mind a reply so I can learn for the future. No rush, tho. Budget (including currency): $75 CAD (Cuz I wanna save most of my money for if/when I need to build a brand new Pc). Country: Canada Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Play Path of Exile. Use Blender 4 and newer versions (mostly low-poly, no textures). Other details 1) See gpu pics, plz. It's an Asus Gtx 970 Blower Style Gpu. For $36 CAD + $28 shipping (so $64 CAD total, $47 USD). Lots of pics. Seller has all positive ratings. They responded to my questions quickly. They said: - it's cheap because they tend to flip products quickly due to limited storage space - it was used in an office pc before they upgraded it The back has dark spots, white specks, and what I'm guessing is dust (I have a blower). Is any of this a red flag? Also, when I looked up Asus Gtx 970 blower style, the pic is a sleek white gpu, and not the generic-looking gpu for sale. When i image-searched, lots of other gpu's had a similar generic look. Is this normal? 2) Is it as simple as needing a psu with high enough wattage? (Which I believe I do). Or do one of the +12v rails have to have high enough amps or something? The gpu for sale requires a single 8-pin connector. Existing Parts: - Stock Psu is 460W (Might not have an 8-pin connector. But let's assume it does). (see pic) - Other Psu: Thermaltake 500W Tr2-500NL2NH (see pic) - 23-inch 1080p lcd monitor - i7-3770 - 24GB Ram (2x8GB and 2x4GB iirc) - 1 Ssd sata - 1 Hdd sata. Edit: I can put this in an external enclosure if I have to. - Whatever mobo came with a Dell Xps 8500 Desktop Pc - This has been running with an Xfx Radeon Hd 5770 for a while, no major problems at all, other than outdated for newer versions of Blender. And sometimes I have to restart pc when starting up (not sure if this is gpu related. It's no big deal).

It should physically fit, My current psu (Dell) has 460W (which should be enough). I have two 6-pin connectors. But I noticed Evga's requirements say: " a minimum of 24 Amp on the +12 volt rail." https://www.evga.com/products/specs/gpu.aspx?pn=5c293ec3-c729-4a91-a80d-2add1f459407 Do one of my psu's have that? (see pics) Can you add the amps of two +12v rails? Which ones do you add? Also, my Thermaltake psu has a 20-pin connector (as well as at least two 4-pin connectors) But my Pc has a 24-pin slot (Dell Xps 8500). Can I put a 20-pin connector and a 4-pin connector into the 24-pin slot? First 2 pics should be dell (connected to my pc) Other 2 pics are thermaltake (the black 20pin connector) https://pcpartpicker.com/products/power-supply/?compatible_with=Yp6BD3 ^If I search Tr2, it says a Tr2 500W thermaltake psu is compatible with a 660 ti I'd like to use the Dell psu tho, since that's easier, and who knows if my Pc's bios is picky with other psu's.

Hi, I cant decide between two PSU, the XPG Pylon 550w and the Deepcool PK650D. Review for XPG Pylon: https://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/xpg-pylon-550w-power-supply-review Review for Deepcool PSU(Translated from Russian): https://ru-gecid-com.translate.goog/power/deepcool_pk650d/?_x_tr_sl=auto&_x_tr_tl=en&_x_tr_hl=en&_x_tr_pto=wapp I've read both reviews, but I don't understand electrical jargon and so i cant decide witch one to get, I don't need a 650 W, since I am running a RX 7600, but the Deepcool is on sale so its a great deal.

Hello everyone! As the title suggests, I'm looking for a good and reliable PSU for my new PC. The parts are https://de.pcpartpicker.com/list/ZrBNpB and from the German version because the prices are the closest to my country (Greece). My first thought was the Be Quiet Pure Power 12 850W but I wasn't sure if it would be a good option and trying to research all the PSUs and which would be a better fit just ended up making me doubt every choice I had and gave me a headache. I'm not looking for something really high end, just something that's true and tested and reliable so I can have my peace of mind.

Upgrading GPU and CPU: Strix RX480 8GB OC > > > TUF RX7800XT Ryzen 7 2700X > > > Ryzen 9 5900X 16GB DDR4 > > > 32GB DDR4 (Kingston Fury) Currently have a Cooler Master B600 600W PSU and I'll need a new one for the RX 7800XT, 850W is recommended (minimum 750W but I'd rather have extra room), but of course I'm looking to get the most reliable PSU for the least money I can. I would probably go with any Cooler Master 850W 80+ Gold but they're above my budget (unless everything else available would be a bad choice), currently have these few picked out as options and I'm interested in opinions and open to suggestions (just keep the suggestions in this or similar price range - Be Quiet 850W System Power 10 BN330 80+ Gold - Gigabyte GP-P850GM 80+ Gold - LC Power 1000W LC1000M V2.31 80+ Gold - MSI 850W MPG A850GF 80+ Gold - Gigabyte 1000W GP-UD1000GM 80+ Gold These 5 are placed in ascending price order, around 42 euros in difference from BeQuiet and Gigabyte 1000W with the rest in between Another 2 options are - Corsair RM850x 850W V2 80+ Gold (priced somewhere in the middle of the first 5) - Cooler Master Cooler Master MWE 80+ Bronze V2 MPE-7501-ACABW-BEU 750W - cheapest on this list (but I would still go with 850W) Thanks in advance

I am currently running an i7 8700(non k) 16gb 3400mhz ram, corsair aio cpu cooler, z-390 Mobo, 5600xt gpu, and a thermaltake 700w smart 80plus non modular psu. I bought a 6700xt being told my 8700 can still run it and well it cant. Hook it up, update all the drivers ( i did uninstall old I get a display and can watch youtube and such, open a game weather in 1440p or 1080p (destiny 2) gonto move my character and it crashes, same with borderlands 2. Put my 5600xt back in update the drivers and it works. My question is why? Is the cpu not good enough or is it the fact my psu has 2 8pin plugs but they both come off the same cable which I read can be an issue. Any and all help is greatly appreciated. This new monitor is making a worlds difference with my old gpu I may just return the new one.

I've posted this on reddit a couple times, but I don't get any help over it on there, I really need some help with this. Recently I've started to see a problem with my games and that is the frame times spiking exactly every second. It wasn't a problem before, it just started happening out of nowhere. I've noticed that every time it happens my wattage also jumps up and down, going from 50 to 100+ then back down or 70 - 100+ then back down. I've stress tested my GPU on furmark, and everything seems fine, no artifacts, still even during the furmark test, this was happening. I get 60fps in most games I play, but have this frame time problem at the same time When I lock to 30 it works fine. Recently lighting struck near my house and two of my WiFi routers got fried, ever since then, when I boot up a really intensive game, my pc just crashes, no display, nothing, just the GPU fans going crazy. What's giving out? Is it my PSU? My GPU? Or my motherboard? My specs: MSI twin frozr Rx 480 4gb Intel core i5 6400 Biostar Z270GTN 12 GB ADATA Ram (4+8) Thunder TGS - 550G (I've heard it's some local shady power supply with false advertising, I was on a budget at the time, so the computer store guy hooked me up with this)

Recently I came upon some parts from an old OEM and I decided to put them in my computer. Got out of it a 1000w PSU and ryzen 5700x. Tried to put the motherboard into my old case but alas, nothing. After this I tried to see if the power supply even worked in the oem and it didnt. It would turn on with a power reset switch on the back but it seems it just blasts out power instead of allowing it to be drawn. So silly me after thinking the MOBO was broken bought a new one (was broken, new one is ASUS TUF 570X PLUS) Got this hooked up today and guess what! Not even my old PC's 750w PSU could power it. But this weird 1000w could with this back power button thingy. And after that it smelt like burning! So I'm in a really tricky situation as I can't afford a new anything but I really want my PC back up. And the 750w PSU will work with the old MOBO from my original build but not the OEM's MOBO???

Recently built a sff pc with r5 5600 and rtx2080, with Montech sky one mini, an full synthetic load cpu hovers around 73-75 and gpu around 79-80, but the psu(tx6500m) is drawing hot air from inside and exhausting at the top, after long gaming session(2-3h) psu exhaust air is soo hot that the panel above reaches around 55-60, is this oky or should I be worried Update: guys I found that psu would be fine at those types of temp.... But the real good news is that i got a new cpu cooler(Deepcool AK400) and ste the rear intake to exhaust, Now I'm seeing max 68C on the cpu and 78 on the gpu with full load , Happy with the temps, and the psu exhaust area gets to 45-47C at the time of testing, Rear exhaust is doing much better job ig, (2nd picture)

Motherboard:HP 805D (U3E1) lately, I've been thinking of keeping this old motherboard from an HP computer. It holds an i7 6700 and 8 gb ddr4. I was thinking of just buying another motherboard. but that risks me having to take the CPU and RAM out of the old one. The PCI-E socket also looks unlike any other. picture of the PCI-E slot ( sorry for bad quality) I'm thinking of putting the whole thing in a deep cool case, so i have more room to fit a GTX 770 in it.

Dear people of brilliance! Preemptive apology: Not only am I practically tech illiterate, I'm probably too stupid to even own a PC. But I love games so here we are. Very grateful for any help! I got a (relatively) good deal on a Zotac AMP Extreme 4080 Airo. I'm planning on connecting it with my 750W Cooler Master MWE Gold (not V2). Vanilla, non-overclocked performance will probably be enough for me (monitor: 1440p ultrawide), so I've been told the recommended 750W should be okay. Question: What cables will I need to buy to make sure my old PSU can power my new graphics card? The high-end 4000 kidney-pawners famously come with an adapter, but I'm confused about which cables I need to connect to that adapter. I've seen a few in my market (Norway) aimed at the 4000 series, but many of them say "only for Corsair PSUs" or something to that effect. I just want to find a safe bet, and I don't care about looks. PC started rebooting randomly and under load like two weeks ago and this become worse. I made some of diagnostics and not sure what is culprit: bad CPU or bad motherboard (Thinking VRM). When i load OCCT and running cpu load separately on each core, on core 4 my pc instantly rebooting, but in lighter load (small Block size, normal load on core 4) it can work longer and again reboot. Whea logger writing me 18 event, hierachy error, but after kernel power critical error. Again i disabled memory XMP and CBS in bios to make it stable at just load Windows and do basics. Hello, I'm planning on upgrading my old trusty GTX 1050Ti to a RTX 4070 but I'm worried about my 600W power supply. I know that recommended power is 700W for a 4070 but sites like this Power Supply Calculator - PSU Calculator | OuterVision show me recommended psu wattage at 520-540W I don't need it to last years just a few months until I can upgrade my PC some more. If someone rocks a similar setup and could share their experience with me I would appreciate it! My system: I5-11600KF RTX 4070 12GB (after upgrade) cpu cooler be quiet! Hello guys I have probably the most dumb problem. I have c850 nzxt psu and it has modular cables and I attach my pcie cable to the psu. Now I bought gpu rgb extension cable and for some dumb reason female connector is not pcie it is eps(cpu), but end of it have male pcie connector. So I don't know what to do. Should i buy adapter to pcie to eps so i can connect this two, which means I would have Psu->pcie->pcie to eps adapter->eps to pcie extension cable->pcie to 12gpu.

Title: Frequent Crashes and Restarts during Gaming – Seeking Expert Advice Post: Hello fellow tech enthusiasts, I'm reaching out to the Linus Tech Tips community in search of some expert advice to help me diagnose and resolve a persistent issue with my gaming PC. I've tried several troubleshooting steps, including replacing my AIO cooler, but the problem continues to elude me. Here's a detailed breakdown of my situation: System Specifications: CPU AMD Ryzen™ 9 7950X3D Motherboard ASUS ROG Crosshair X670E Hero RAM G.Skill Trident Z5 NEO RGB Series (AMD Expo) 32GB (2 x 16GB) DDR5 6000 CL30-38-38-96 1.35V GPU RTX 4090 SUPRIM X 24G Case HYTE Y60 Storage SABRENT 2TB Rocket 4 Plus PSU ASUS ROG Thor 1000W Platinum II Display(s) ASUS ROG Swift 41.5” 4K OLED Gaming Monitor (PG42UQ) Cooling Was Fractal Lumen S36, just replaced with Ryujin III 360 AIO. BIOS BIOS 1709 (Most current, I've updated every time since I got PC back in July hoping for a fix). The Issue: I've been encountering frequent crashes and restarts during gaming sessions, particularly during extended gaming (3-4 hours). The crashes are often accompanied by system shutdowns, where only motherboard and RAM lights remain on. The only way to turn the PC back on is by flipping the I/O switch on the back of the PSU. Steps Taken So Far: Replaced AIO Cooler: I initially suspected cooling issues and replaced my AIO cooler with a new one. This improved idle temperatures, but the crashes persist. XMP and Curve Optimizer: I've tried running my system with XMP and Curve Optimizer settings enabled, as well as with optimized defaults. Crashes occurred in both scenarios. Monitoring Tools: I've been using HWINFO to monitor system parameters, but nothing glaringly out of the ordinary stands out during crashes. Software Updates: I regularly update my software and drivers to ensure compatibility and stability. Stress Testing: I've run stress tests like Prime95 and Cinebench R23, as well as benchmarks like Time Spy and Core Cycler. While the system seems stable in most tests, it crashes during a specific one (e.g., SHA3 test AIDA64 > Benchmarks > CPU SHA3, the one that last only a 30 seconds or so) instantly as soon as I run it the computer just goes black and restarts (not the motherboard and lights issue. Additional Information: I've checked PSU voltages with HWINFO, and they appear to be within normal ranges. (The 3.3+, 5V and 12V under motherboard I mean). I've monitored GPU temperatures during various workloads and gaming sessions, and they remain reasonable. I feel GPU is least likely to be the issue, but I could be wrong. I also thought it may be my simulated sinewave 1500VA 900W APC Back-UPS XS 1500M since it constantly reads 123-125V when it should be 120V so I literally just ordered the Tripp Lite gaming one. But it never had issues on my old PC and Ive only had it about a year. So I think I may have just wasted my money. Warranty replacements on parts take so long and I need my PC for work. I don't have time to wait, so I cannot keep dropping money. Request for Help: I'm at a loss regarding the root cause of these crashes, and I'm looking for expert advice to help me diagnose and resolve this issue. Your insights, suggestions, or potential next steps would be greatly appreciated. I've tried to be as thorough as possible in describing my problem, but if there's any specific information or logs you need to help me further, please let me know. Thank you in advance for your assistance, and I look forward to any insights you can provide.

Hi everyone, let me straight to the point. My PC specs are: Asrock b550m pro4 new R7 5700G new Zotac Holoblack RTX 3070 used havent repaste 32GB team create new Gamemax 650w 80+ bronze about 4 years old Problem: Around last week, I used video enhancer software to enhance HD to 4K and when it starts to work,my PC crashed and restarted. Then today after I updated my Nvidia driver, played Hogwarts Legacy and it restarted. Played the Witcher 3,able to play for an hour then it restarted. I limit my GPU power draw to 50% for energy saving. What really happened? Is the PSU break? Or I need to reseat cables and repaste GPU? Anyone with the same issue? I plan on cleaning my PC tonight while repaste and repads all the components. If that fails, perhaps PSU is at fault? Need help here, and thank you for any replies.
