The hardware: CPU: Ryzen 5 5500 GPU: Radeon RX 5700 Red Devil Motherboard: MSI B450 Gaming Plus Max Memory: 2 x Apacer Nox DDR4 8GB 3200Mhz PSU: Digital Alliance Dengen 550w 80+ Bronze The Problem: GPU led turns on but no display and all fans are not spinning. Not even when first started up. How it happened: This is my first build. After done building the PC I powered it on and it shows Mobo's logo and loading, BUT it suddenly shuts off. Tried it again and I got farther in the startup but it shuts off again. Then, I got to BIOS and its fine. CPU temps is 33oC, I let it runs BIOS for couple mins and its fine. Going back to boot windows, it booted after a minute the power shuts off again. I thought it might be the PSU that's failing (even though its brand new). The I tried putting on an old GPU of Nvidia 9600 GT. It booted to windows fine, just needed to change BIOS to CSM. After taking a break for couple hours, I tried the RX 5700 and it wont POST. EZ Debug LED showing VGA problem. The RGB on the GPU is lighting but fans not spinning. Putting the 9600 GT back in and it booted fine. So I'm pretty sure I short circuited the RX 5700. Welp, I'll be going to repair shop Question: Is my 550w PSU not enough for RX 5700 or is it just with my unit that's faulty? I even went out of my way and checked the voltage of every pin on 24 pins, 8 pins, and 8+6 pins. Its all fine. Bear in mind its GPU pins are pigtails. It doesnt have another 6 or 8 pins to connect. But I'm sure with pigtails at least it will boot. Just need to make sure if I needed new PSU or just need to repair the GPU.

Hey guys recently my pc stopped working, I’d suppose it’s because of the PSU, it passes the paperclip test but when I connect it to motherboard the fans don’t spin, but the motherboard does light up. I tried every part 1 by one and none are working. The lights also flicker and instantly go off. I have a chieftec 500w used psu with 28 amps and idk how many volts any help I’d appreciate thank you

Case: Hyte y60 MOBA: Asus x670e-a gaming Cpu: 7950x3d Gpu: 2080 super I just bought a new PSU. It's the Asus ROG LOKI 1000w Platinum. I replaced everything but left the sata cable of the old PSU (750w EVGA). I connected everything that needed to be connected for the PC to turn on. I think. When switching the PSU back button to on and press the button to turn on the PC, it does a click or a pop sound and it does nothing but have the ram RGB turned on. Help. :( Thank you

My pc https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/list/ZcxhYN I have been having games lag and pc turn off. It's the 750x PSU. I am going to upgrade but want to know, should I buy the 850 or 1000. I am planning to buy the rm1000x shift. It has ATX 3.0 and it's good. Great result and review. Should I buy the 850 or 1000. There's an offer on right now 20%off. Thanks.

This morning I tried turning my PC on but it won't. I tried switching the outlet, flipping the power switch on and off, but all that did was give me a start up light from my motherboard, fans started to turn, and the case lights lit up only for a second like it was about to turn on.

Looking at my next build (in a couple months), 7800X3D/7900XTX (that I already have), will use either a Lancool III or an Antec Performance FT1, aircooled (TR PE120) Having a RM850x that I can't tell anything bad about, so I'm looking at Corsair PSUs in the 200EUR/ 1000W range (just to say I upgrade ) But they offer too many of them, which looks all good, all TierA at PSUCultists ! RM1000x 160EUR Cybenetics Platinum/A, but old design not ATX3.0 RM1000e 160EUR Gold/A-, ATX3.0/PCie5, a bit noisier ? RM1000x Shift 210EUR Gold/A, ATX3.0/PCie5, and I like the side connectors as I have a tendency to change/upgrade stuff in my PC. Seems compatible with my case choice HX1000i 230EUR, Plat/A, ATX3.0/PCie5, quality seems one notch above, dead silent, has digital output to ICue (which I hate..) None have a "native" 12VHPWR connector (that I don't need atm), all have enough PCie 8pins connectors Either I go cheap but then I can't see the advantage of the RM1000e vs RM1000x, the new 1000e seems just worse (what does ATX3.0 gives ?), or I can spend 50EUR more for the more practical "side connectors" of the Shift model .. Worth it ? Finally I can spend 20EUR more again for the higher end HX, but can't hardly justify it myself... Any thoughts/experience ?

I just saw this modell and because i coufnt find it on the tierlist i was wondering if its any good? the only review i found was for the 1050w version from kitguru

Hey! I bought a new graphic cards some days ago and was going to switch to it in the PC when I sensed a tingeling electric feeling from the case. I was already grounded through an ESD armband connected to the radiator, to not damage the graphic card. Googled around and found out that it could be the PSU and ground issues, took my multimeter and checked the AC on the PSU in the case and outside, to be between 8v-15v. Checked the ground and noticed that we do not have ground outlets in our apartment (have no idea how I could have missed this). Googled to see what I could do and found out that the PSU should not let out any Volt from the case, even if it doesn't have a ground. Bought another PSU and this one also had power coming out from it, although it was only 5v-6v this time. I was planning to send the PSU back to warranty, because it shouldn't let out any power? I am going to talk to my landlord and hopefully make him install grounded outlets. Until then, using a power surge between the outlet and the computer. The question is, have I understood this all correctly, that the PSU shouldn't leak any AC through its case, even when it doesn't have a ground? Because it feels kinda crazy that both of these PSUs did have similar issues. Or if it is normal and I don't have to send back this PSU on warranty? Then, how much volt leaking until it is not normal then? Thank you for reading and help and answers is appreciated, I am a noob in electricity!

Built my pc 2 years back. Recently facing sudden restart while using the computer. After restart, - CPU light fans and everything else is on - No Monitor signal - After reboot, CPU status led is constantly ON in the MOBO Few things I tried, - Tried swapping ram slots, 1 stick at a time. With a single stick ram, the problem occurs after a long period of running, with dual channel it gives me lesser time, with XMP enabled on dual channel it just doesn't boot , just the CPU light fans on, no monitor signal. - Cleared CMOS battery. didn't solve it. - made the CPU cooler screw a bit loose, didn't solve - All temp and voltage while I am using the computer normally seems fine.. I am facing this problem for about a week. However, not sure if this is relevant, just for additional information , I had always encountered this weird problem of "Pc doesn't start immediately after pressing power button, Specially if I don't unplug the pc from wall after using, next time it won't turn ON immediately" this is a bit ghost problem, sometimes I had this issue, sometimes it would just go away, and later come back if someday I forget to unplug cable from the wall after using it and keep it there for a long time of period. My specs - i5 9600k Gigabyte 9th gen Z390 UD Corsair 8 GB x 2. DDR-4 3200 Bus Vengeance LPX Ram. PSU - Cooler Master MWE 650 W RTX 2060

Hello everyone.. last month i asked a question here to know the manufacturing date of my old cooler master 850w psu .. and little did i know it was a 13-14 year old psu.. everyone recommended me to change that psu asap.. but i just bought my 3080ti.. I don't have a good budget.. my friend is selling me this cx750f rgb for a good price.. i am attaching a pic of that psu.. can anyone tell me the manufacturing date of that psu.. in old corsair psu we can tell the manufacturing date by looking at the serial no. But i think in newer psu this method doesn't apply.. And also one more question should this psu be enough for my build? Specs: Ryzen 5 5600x RTX 3080ti undervolted to 0.815v (300watt ish) 32gb ddr4 3200mhz cl16 ram And some rgb fans. Serial no. Of cx750f 0316212009802

I have a pre-built system with a 320-watt PSU. I want to put a 175-watt TDP graphics card in it, but changing the PSU is not an option because of the OEM's 6-pin plug design. If I power that up with an external power source like another PSU or a custom 12v PSU, will it work or not?

I'm building a low-budget PC with some second-hand parts, and some cheap parts. I am aware that some parts are a bit older and not so future-proof. I already built pc's but now I'm on a tight budget and need to choose a power supply that fits in it. My partslist now is: - CPU: Ryzen 5 3600 - GPU: AMD RX 5700xt - MOBO: MSI B450-A PRO MAX II - SSD: Something cheap(er) or something I have lying around. Will never be more than 1.5-2TB in total. - RAM: I have 16gb DDR4 2133 lying around, but am going to upgrade to faster RAM eventually (to 3200 or 3600 MHz probably) I think I need 550 - 600 Watts for the PSU. I have 2 options: 1 - DeepCool PK550D 550W https://www.alternate.be/Deepcool/PK550D-550W-voeding/html/product/1854799 This one is a bit more expensive and lower wattage but in LTT PSU tier list. 2 - Sharkoon SHP Bronze 600 W https://www.alternate.be/Sharkoon/SHP-Bronze-600-W-voeding/html/product/1586775 This one has more wattage but I don't find it on the tier list. I know the brand, but not their PSU's. Which option would be better? Thanks!

MSI PRO B650-P WIFI Building a new PC and have plugged power into the 24-pin connector, cpu-fan (from cooler), and the cpu power. Was hoping to get at least some LEDs as a sign of life, but not sure why it isn't getting power. I actually tried this psu on another board and it get power to it. Not trying to turn the system on, just trying to make sure the board is getting power. Any ideas? See pics

Hey, 3days ago my PC acting strange. After pc was shutdown for some time i couldnt start it reguraly when i press the power button on the case it did nothing. The only way to boot was to replug replug the psu and then i would start normally. Now yesterday my pc started to randomly shut down (like the power was being cut). this happend 3 times and then i opened my case to see i if there where any lose cables or bad connections. But my pc kept shutting down every 15 mins give or take. Out of precaution i didnt plug in my pc when i went to sleep. today it wont boot at all. -no debug led seen -case fans start -no debug bleep -GPU seems to receive no power (ligths of gpu not on nor the fans) This build worked normally for like 2 months and suddenly started showing these problems. Somebody has any idea what this symptoms could indicate. EDIT: build CPU: ryzen 7 7800x3D GPU: 4070 ti GIGABYTE MOBO: ASUS ROG B650E-F RAM: D5 32GB 6000-36 EXPO K2 PSU: 850W CORSAIR RM850 ATX 24

Hello everyone, I have the problem that i bought my new GPU and 3 month ago i bought a new psu. (https://www.amazon.de/dp/B0BVL17341?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details&th=1) Now the psu just has 2x8 pin connectors which my new cards needs 3 of. My Question now is can i just buy a cable as linked down below or is there something better for a solution ? https://www.amazon.de/kabel,PCIE-Stromkabel-Anschluss-Netzteile-Thermaltake/dp/B0BWMT6WSH?ref_=nav_signin <- Cable =? Thank you in advance and sorry for my horrible gramma :P

Hi guys I'm using a 600w toughpower gx2 that refuses to work when pluging it into a motherboard. One weird thing that I discovered is that when doing the paper clip test I can plug a pcie cord into one side of a old motherboard 24 pin socket it spins to life. When I try to plug the 24 pin into the old boards socket it refuses to work.

Hey all, I just got a new EVGA GeForce RTX 3070 Ti FTW3 ULTRA GAMING (which I haven't installed yet) and according to the EVGA website, it mentions a minimum 750W PSU is required. Using PCPartPicker, I've created my build with the new video card and all the remaining parts, including the Seasonic FOCUS GX-650, 650W 80+ Gold. According to that, the build consumes 515W plus 23W of the water pump that wasn't included (538W total), so why a 750W PSU is required? Should my 650W PSU be enough?

Hi, guys I thought I should probably ask someone with more experience than me so... (Some backstory) I bought a HP Pavilion 590-p0044 on eBay for about $80 and I'm doing some upgrades to it to make it better. It came with a ~180w PSU that's rated 80plus Gold (If I remember correctly) and I wanted to upgrade it to a 400-500w PSU as I plan on buying a Graphics Card in the near future and I don't think the current PSU is going to be able to handle it. (btw I plan on getting an AMD Radeon RX 580 which uses ~185w so I'm defiantly going to need an upgrade). I just wanted to know if I could use any off the shelf PSU or if I can only use the upgrades at HP/eBay sells (Parts: {400w PSU[L04618-800] $70-80} and 500w {PSU[L05757-800] $65-150}). My PC's specifications are... AMD Ryzen 5 2400G w/ Radeon Vega 11 Graphics 8GB DDR4 Ram (I have an extra stick of 8GB DDR4 but it's in another PC at the moment) 500GB SATA SSD 2TB SATA HDD @ 10KRPM Windows 11 Home Images Below are closely similar to the PC I own.
