Hey guys, So my birthday passed last Friday. Was thinking of using save up cash to upgrade pc but I ended up saving the cash. Luckily my dad and mom both gave me an extra $1000 as a present and I used it to by an Xbox One Elite. I have a pc and a ps4 as well. So I got a couple of questions for you guys: -Do you guys use the auto renew service on your ps4/xbone? Should I use it or just go buy codes off Gamestop? -I have Halo 5 and MC edition, are there any other games I should pick up for Xbox One? -I will be trading all my beaten games on my PS4 to get the taken king version of destiny, is it worth it? -Any PS4 games worth it? So TL:DR is that I got an extra amount of cash I used maybe 60% of it to buy a xbone, anything else I should be looking for or should I stash with along with the thousands I got saved? -
Ever since I can't believe how a consoles performs very well on games and it only cost 1 gaming parts of a rig/pc until I just recently knew that PS4 only has a 30FPS at 1080P? WTF! My whole life is a fcking LIE! differentiating 30FPS and 60FPS are very very different trust me I know I'm a PRO MOBA player in League of Legends "Master Tier" in Season 5, in MOBA oh god dropping FPS to 30 is a very very frustrating thing that will happen to you. Is there a way to overclock a console? or is there anyway to improve frame rates up to 60 STABLE FPS? I own a console from PS1-PS3 but I never owned an XBOX Console and I never knew that consoles have a 30FPS? I can agree now for those people who saying that PC gaming is the best, yes it is, coz you can make your video quality set to ultra and set to much higher resolution etc. but think about how much will you spend on a gaming pc that can run a game (e.g. Witcher 3) at 4k and stable at 60FPS. I've seen some videos/benchmark that even 2 way sli 980 ti can't even make the FPS stable at 60 (non-OC) on witcher 3 Ultra/4K. god how much a 980 ti cost each? I really cant believe to my self that I just knew this stuff. I currently owned a gaming rig that can run witcher 3 high 1080p 30fps. I'm planning to get back to console but If i really can overclock a console that would be great I wouldn't hesitate buying PS4 ASAP, but until its only fix to 30fps, I doubt buying it. and you should be subscribed to PSN to be able to play multiplayer.

As one of the 'Lightning talks' of this years Chaos Communication Congress, Fail0verflow group showed a demo of them making a PS4 boot Linux and run a PS1 Gameboy Advance version of a Pokemon game. Things aren't as straightforward as finding an exploit to load the kernel, however. As the video shows, PS4's semi-custom architecture has required them to alter over 7000 lines in the kernel to get most of the subsystems to work, with GPU 3D acceleration and USB functionality still a work in progress. The video promises an imminent release of the kernel patches, but tells people to 'bring their own exploit' suggesting the one they used to bypass PS4's locked bootloader won't be released (this article has some speculation on what exactly it was). All very neat IMHO and you don't have to feel too bad for Sony as they're supposedly not selling this generation of Play Stations at a loss, but merely at cost. Thanks @Daring for the correction on what the game was. Update: 3D acceleration is a go. The group has gotten the Gallium3D open source driver working, so now you are out of excuses for not having Steam OS running CS:GO on your PS4.

I am looking to get a pair of headphones and a separate microphone for listening to music and playing games, it will need to have a 3.5mm jack. So far i have found HD518 for £49 and the Antlion ModMic 4.0, is this the best i can get for under £100 for gaming and music, if not can someone suggest headphones that are good for trap/electro/dubstep music and gaming. My max budget for the headphones are £60. What i would like to have (Not required but i prefer to have if possible) MUST be Over ear Leather ear pads would be nice but velour ect... is fine comfortable for long hours Good sound quality for gaming and trap/electro/dubstep music Needs to be a 3.5mm jack so i can use it on PS4

I'm looking for a monitor (or small TV) for console playing (mostly on the PS4). It doesn't need to be any bigger than 24in as it will sit on my desk as a temporary solution until I get nice big TV next year. I'm after a screen suited for shooters, like BF4 and SWBF so good picture, low input lag/reponse time. Thus don't need to spend a vast amount of money on this money. I'm keen on a monitor, rather than a TV, as it gives me more options. Teh above screen is PLS at 4ms. I read IPS is better though?

So, my little brother just got a PS4 Battlefront edition for christmas, and it came with A code for it. We have limited internet (5GB/ month) and even then it is relatively slow. Is there anyway to download the game somewhere else (at my school via my phone with good wi-fi) Or Can I Borrow the game from a friend, just for the install? Please help. Thanks.

hi i recently upgraded my ps4 hard drive and would like to use the old hard drive as a normal portable hard drive i have bought an enclosure for it so it allows it to be connected by usb 3.0 but the problem is its not showing up in my computer so i was just wondering what i would need to do Enclosure: silverstone TS04B 2.5in sata SSD/HDD usb 3.0 enclosure HDD: samsung st500lm012 500GB OS: Win 10

It's very rare that I use a controller but GTA 5 when flying is when I need one most. I have a Scuf for Xbox One but the Triggers don't work since I have trigger stops. I also have a Dualshock 4 PS4 controller but I'm unsure of what software to use so if you could recommend that I'd really appreciate it. But which controller do you prefer to use for PC gaming? btw Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!!!

So I feel like I have some problems with my home network.. BACKGROUND INFO. The Setup is as follows: I have Broadband Internet that comes in, into a Motorola Cable Modem(SB5101U). Then from the Modem it goes into a Cisco Router(WRT160N), from this router it goes out to another Cisco Router(E1200v2) to provide Wireless signal out in the Garage. Going back to the (WRT160N) from there I have a 50ft Cat5 Ethernet cable running up to my room, that I plug into my PS4. PROBLEM. I have many problems trying to view my friends' list, and party's and what not, the main error code saying stuff like, "DNS Error" etc. and spitting out some code to help talk to Sony Reps. This regularly occurs like about every 3-5 hours. Constantly making me reset my Internet, and PS4. [(Usually when I reset the Internet it 'fixes' itself.) However it occasionally takes more than one time.] OBJECTIVE. I'm looking to figure out if there's something better I can do, maybe I should get newer equipment? I don't know that's why I'm here. Or maybe to get some help on fixing things that are in the settings, or possibly calling my Internet Provider asking them to check things? I'm unsure. And I am hardly even a beginner yet to this all, so I'm just trying to learn as much as I can to fix it, and to help others myself... Thank you so much, Have a good day.

I get around 70DL and 30UL on my laptop over wifi. And on my ps4 I get 1DL and 1.1UL, I tried changing DNS to googles one (8.8.8.8 & 8.8.4.4) as well as giving it a static IP and changing settings in my router to give it priority and I get no improvement at all. Do you know any other way without buying a repeater or powerline adapter that can improve the wifi? I'm assuming ps4 has a crap network card which is a bottleneck but 1mbps is a joke in this day,

Ps4 has now been properly jailbroken using a freebsd kernel exploit, but only on a very old firmware revision. Expect a game of cat and mouse to begin with sony constantly updating every time a new jailbreak comes out. http://m.slashdot.org/story/304029

Hi all, Need some recommendations for a good TV for gaming. Budget is around 400$ but I wouldn't mind if it was lower. Main uses will be for PS4 and Xbox one gaming and also the occasional movie. Some of them that I have shortlisted but cant decide upon are - LG 42LF5600 Sony KDL40W600B Vizio E32-C1 Vizoi E40-C2 Please feel free to recommend any other TV. Also I sit pretty close to my desk and so I don't need anything in surplus of 42 inches. Thanks!

I bought Borderlands: The Handsome Collection and i want my saves from ps3 to ps4. I have one problem I have lost my Borderlands 2 (ps3) disc and I can´t find it. Is there anything I could do to get my saves. I´m not going to buy another copy of BL2 and my friend don´t have it.

First of all, I have't played any of the new VR hardware yet. I hope Luke talks about Sony VR as much as occ and vive. He's a console gamer too and diggs his Wii U games. Are we writing off Sony's VR? I'm gonna pre order the Sony VR. If Sony VR could run Valkerie, or lets say No Mans Sky, in 120fps, why wouldn't a lot of folks prefer that over Occ and Vive that are only 90? Or at least consider what's going on in the console universe. In VR, at the moment, aren't we, as gamers, very concerned in what VR needs the most, that being less puke? I guess I'm still wanting to hear more comparisons of Sony VR to the high end, super expensive, beta-esque, pc versions that is a hard sell, even to big spending gamers. I know money needs to be spent on Occ and Vive and whatever else to push the industry. Personally, I just want to be able to look around in a VR environment more than anything else. Occ and Vive controllers are better than Sony's we already know, but they're still controllers, and youd always feel a controller, not a gun, or teapot, or anything else. I'm gonna want a vr glove before that's worth high end gaming price. If Sony's fov is good enough, and fps keeps motion sickness away and games looking smooth, how much better "experience" would Valkerie be on occ or Vive? $1500 better?!?!? And these are questions, not stones. I'm asking, where do LinusTechTips soldiers stand on Sony's pony?

Paris attackers allegedly used a PS4 to organise the attacks. Are we going to see a crackdown on consoles' social features, or maybe governments will try to get sony/microsoft/nintendo to include backdoors in their online platforms? Who knows.

Hey guys, I am hoping to buy PS 4 or Xbox one in the coming month. I am having confusions with PSN and Xbox live support. Currently I am living in Sri Lanka which is not mentioned as a supported country by these two services. Does this mean I wont be able to get these services???

Hello all.. Here I am.. Trying to make a post so every Logitech G29/G920 owner can show their setups, mods, ask questions, talk about games you play with this great wheel... Here is my setup, G29 with Shifter.. I installed an anti slip rubber floor under the pedals.. It is not complete.. a lot of cable management needs to be done.. and I want to modify the wheel and shifter with some Audi logos. In that album I will upload my progress... It would be nice if everyone share theirs.. For now I play Project Cars, Codemasters F1 2015 and City Car Driving PS: If there is something else I need to add to the post send me a message... Ok, so I quit playing battlefield 4 for about 6 months and I'm starting to get back into it on the PS4. Since then I've been playing Destiny almost exclusively. I've gotten so used to the 10 sensitivity and when I go to battlefield 4 I can't aim worth a crap. But in Destiny I can snap on target and turn on people and what not. What would be equivalent sensitivity settings advanced options and everything in bf4 that are pretty close to the 10 sensitivity in Destiny? I may have to tweak it a little higher but its right in my comfort zone. Any help is appreciated!

Hi! I don't know if there is lot of people here who know about consoles lol but here goes.. So Fifa 16 comes out in Europe (Finland) 24th of Sebtember, but in North America it comes out 22nd of Sebtember. So is it possible for me to make a new psn account that is located in north america to get the game as early as 22nd? Also does anyone know if the game becomes available at midnight or what time does the store update? :huh:

So I've had my PS4 over a year now and it's been pretty loud since I got it, more than what I would expect is acceptable for a living room device, but I figured consoles are shit and that's what I'll have to deal with when playing PS4 exclusives. But it seems to have gotten much worse, I was playing Until Dawn for about 30mins or so and it sounded like it was going to take off! Looking on the net it seems like it's a big problem but also very hit or miss. Some people report their PS4 is as silent as a mouse even under load, others say the problem developed over time, other say they've had the issue from the beginning and had it exchanged under warranty, and the new one was just as bad. A few people have said opening it up and replacing the thermal paste solved the issue and others say replacing the thermal paste made not difference. Anyone had this problem, what do you suggest? The company that handles the Warranty in my country will replace the console even if it's out of warranty for half the price of a new one, and the new one I get will have a 3 month warranty but they assure me it will be a new device so if it as noisy as the old one I can swap it out again, but obviously like to avoid that...
