So my friend just messaged me to help him with his ps4. It's not accepting any disk that he tries to insert into the optical drive. (doesnt even try to bring it into the system, it doesnt even seem to nitice that a disk is being inserted at all) every other repair guide online seems to be for when the system AutoEjects disks (safe mode, tightening the eject screw) so this seems to not be a super common issue. I was hoping someone here would have an idea of what it could be

I'm planning to buy a PS4 early next year (somewhere around January or February 2020) but heard that the ps5 will release somewhere at the end of the year in 2020. I know that the price of the ps5 will be really expensive, the prices of ps4s now are quite cheap. Should I still consider buying a PS4 early next year? And if so, how long before developers stop making games that support the PS4?

So, I recently bought a PS4 Pro and I'd like to be able to use my PC speakers, wich are plugged in via audio jack on my PC. Since the PS4 only has an Optical port, I'm wondering what kind of audio hub I should buy so I can easily switch between my PC and PS4 audio. So I'm basically looking for something that can plug my speaker's jack and split it between optical and jack and just choose the channel. Thank you for your help!

I'm not sure this is the right section to ask this under, but if it's not hopefully someone can point me in the right direction. Lately my family and I have started playing a few games on PS4. My goal is to have everything under one microphone and pair of headphones. Currently I don't have an issue when I'm playing solo games by myself because I'm just using the preview from the AverMedia REC Central to get video and audio. I'm not looking to live stream with the setup or anything. I am just looking for sheer convenience of being able to use one audio listening device and one microphone for everything. From what I understand I would need a mixer of sorts to achieve what I need but I could be wrong. Can anyone point me in the direction of a few mixers or what I would need that could get the job done? This may all just sound a little overkill or crazy but I would appreciate any help or guidance. List of current hardware that I am using. First, I'm a total noob so please bear with me guys. Thanks a lot, much love UwU I want a way to access my 696GB of Private Research Video, without needing to store them on each of my devices. also, I want to access them, both when I'm at home on the toilet and when out about somewhere on a public toilet. I have heard about Plex, but I'm a bit concern about my privacy, mostly because of my Private Research Video are well private, so I want to go DIY. which left me with FreeNAS, but it would seem it is much more complicated then I intended, so I want to ask the Forum first before starting. 1. All I have is my laptop, but I read that not every laptop is supported by FreeBSD which FreeNAS is based on, can this be a roadblock? Spec: 2. I have heard dual-booting with FreeNAS isn't recommended? what if I install FreeNAS on a separate HDD, would it help? 3. After installing FreeNAS, would I have access to the files if I just plug the laptop in the Router through the Ethernet port? or do I have to do some configurations? where can you get some tutorial? 4. Can I still use my laptop? I would still need to bring it to school here and there, so would disconnecting it once every week be OK? 5. How about getting a Raspberry Pi 4 and turn it into a NAS? 6. How can my phone access the files when not home? Can I connect to the drive through file explorer network feature and just access them normally, or do I have I get a separate app to play the files? (I want to keep using the Poweramp an Gallery) 9. I want to use the Media Player on PS4, so how can I get DLNA supported? Is there a different App on PS4 besides the Media Player? Again, thank you very much guys, all help is appreciated. Much love, hope everyone have nice day

Should I buy PS4 in this time of year ?( PS5 coming soon)
DTPhoenix posted a topic in Console Gaming
I have 4 year old laptop with Ge-force 920M inside it. I know it sucks, now I want to get console and I am planning to get a PlayStation, mostly for Exclusives and overall couch gaming. I am aware that new PS5 is coming somewhere around next year. My question is should I wait for it or PS4 would be good enough and it would last me around 2 more years. Also If PS4 is your answer then which version should I get ? I don't have 4K TV, and I would be okay with 1080P graphics. Which games or deals should I look for and any other tips which might helpful regarding consoles and buying them in general. I have mostly played Overwatch, GTA V, Titanfall 2, JC3/4 and Shooter games on my laptop for last few years and I also borrow my friend's Alienware sometimes when I really need to game. FYI, my last console was PS VITA (if it counts xD). -
I got my long lost PS4 Slim back yesterday and i want to get linux on it for school. this would be very helpful. i wonder if there are any official ways of doing this. if there isnt i dont care about it being legal but it would be great if there was some easy way to do this. such as just booting up a Mint usb and installing but i fear its not so simple. Edit: im thinking if i take out the HDD and load Linux on it will that work?

So the issue I'm having is when playing ONLY FFXIV the controller will disconnect after a few seconds, but the trackpad in the middle will still work as a mouse. This works whether connected via bluetooth, wired, etc. The controller works perfectly fine in anything else, but in this game specifically it has this problem. I thought about posting this on the ffxiv forums but I feel like you guys are probably much more tech savvy and may know how to fix this? Any and all help is GREATLY appreciated!

Ok, so I'm not a newbie by any means to software, hardware, builds, and modding; but im very far from a pro. I recently had an idea that works in my head, but I cant figure out how I can do it well. I have a fat ps2 (scph 39001 no expansion) and a ps3 slim (160gb) I'm soon going to buy a ps4, but I dont know weather or not I should buy the original fat ps4 model, or the slim; depending on which will suit this build better. (I have no personal need for the pro) So here's the plan; an all in one "playstation." ps2 and ps3 run the native ps1 titles by themselves, so I dont need the ps1. The plan is to take all of the components out of the ps2, ps3, and ps4, to to fit into a custom PC case. I'm thinking 3 disk drive slots (one for each system) and maybe finding a way to run all 3 on 1 power supply, along with optimal cooling (water cooled maybe?) I know in the end it will still need 3 different display outputs... the ps2 will stay stock, maybe add the expansion or mod to a sata hdd. The ps4 will remain stock, for psn and stuff like that. The ps3 I plan to soft/hard mod, but that is all in due time. I cant figure out where to begin with this mod.. I think finding a case suitable for the job may be my first step. What do you guys think? What are your thoughts? I want this to be a unique, but visually satisfying build, with alot of versatility. Any thoughts are much appreciated!

If I buy an Elgato HD60 S to récord/stream Nintendo switch gameplay, and possibly ps4 down the road, would this be a good setup? I was going to build my own PC, but found what I was going to build on eBay already all put together. My only concern is the intel processor on all of these, is lower than the requirements on the Elgato website. However, I have read that this doesn’t matter for some people who record because it’s only used to record/stream and not play? I originally was going to buy a tower, then add GeForce 1650 and a 500GB-1TB SSD on it. It would be $381 This is the tower I was going to buy https://www.newegg.com/p/1VK-0001-0H8Z3?item=9SIADZE71V9499 This is the computer all put together with i5 3rd gen. https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.com%2Fulk%2Fitm%2F143186188553 This actually has GTX 1650, but is gen 2 https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.com%2Fulk%2Fitm%2F273354316593 Which do you think is best? Should I build my own with the GTX 1650 and SSD, or buy one already built to record and stream switch and possibly ps4 gameplay?

Having the same issue as this guy: Basically title. I've installed DS4Windows and it can't seem to find my controller. Controller works perfectly on my PS4 though. I haven't tried connecting via Bluetooth because I want to be able to use the controller on both PS4 and Steam. I'm using one of these cables. https://www.amazon.com/Tronsmart-Durable-Premium-Charge-Motorola/dp/B018IAXVN6 When I plug it in the orange like blinks once and then the lights turn off on controller. I tried 3 more cables of different brands. Each behaves the same.

Hi everyone, I recently discovered a problem with one of my PS4s right before going on vacation to another country. I few days ago I came back to my country again and started to analyze the problem, but I unfortunately haven't found the solution. Here's what's up. The PS4 turns on, but instantly goes to safe mode and asks me to update the PS4 using a USB. So, I downloaded the PS4 update from Sony's website, but it then requested the other download, the "Complete System Software File". I went once again and downloaded the other file instead, but it alerted me that all the data on the PS4 would be delete. So, of course I didn't proceed with that. I don't want to lose the savegames I have inside (Before anyone asks: No, I don't have PlayStation Plus, so I can't re-download the saves). Here's what I've tried to do so far: [Booting into Safe Mode] - Rebuilding PS4 Database. - Applying Default settings. - Updating PS4 using USB, Internet and a Disc. [Connecting PS4 HDD to PC] - Tried to recover data using EaseUS, RecoverIt and other programs. - Booted my PC with the latest Ubuntu OS to see if I could access the Data (Thought this would make sense, as the PS4 is using a Unix based OS) All of these attempts were unsuccessful. After trying to recover the data using the PC I read online that the PS4's HDD is encrypted, making it very difficult to access it. So, today I was once again trying to solve this issue and I came across this: Website: https://www.psdevwiki.com/ps4/Files_on_the_PS4#Partitions Do you guys think it would work if I formatted that last partition and tried to update the system again? I really don't know what to do anymore. All I want is to recover the savegames. So, if you guys could help me with this, I would be very thankful.

Why do gamers choose Xbox as their console? I'm just asking this question out of curiosity since I used to have a PS4 and not an Xbox. Is it the UI on the Xbox or the hardware or anything else?

I have a regular PS4 with storage that's nearly full. I was looking to buy an external storage drive but I was conflicted between whether I should get a SSD or a larger sized hard drive (more games). Of course I want load times to be smooth and everything but I'm not looking for the fastest load times or fastest saves. Is a regular hard drive fast enough for normal gameplay? Or is the difference worth it to get an SSD? (Sorry if this is awkward, out of place or something; this is my first time using the site and posting anything.)

Hello and greetings from France :) I would have wanted to receive a professionnal advise concerning the configuration i want to install in my new futur setup. I am currently gaming on my ps4 on a 24 inch monitor, sandwiched by two 27 monitors for my pc. I am trying to figure out a way to use a triple 24inch monitor setup for my pc, in a matter to be able to switch on my ps4 whenever i want to play on it ( by keeping it connected to the centered monitor, right in front of me) without having to unplug any cables, and still being able to use my computer, to navigate between my left and right monitors. You may answer that it is not a problem, i can simply switch between the inputs on my centered monitor, in order to keep the view on my ps4, although want i want to avoid as well, is the " presence" of the centered monitor on my pc. You see, if i switch to my ps4 input on the centered monitor, my pc will still recognize the three monitors, even if i am not on the pc's display, so if i open a software or something on my pc, it would start displaying in the " background" on the monitor that i am actually using now to play my ps4 game. I am very sorry for my horrible english, if someone could offer me a bit of time, i would be glad to give more specific details if i am not clear here :) Would anyone have a solution for this matter? Thank you very much :D

I'veconnected my PS4 controller to my PC and it won't show up on DS4Windows. It is read as an audio device. I am using a Windows 10 machine. Can someone please help me? PS. I am using a micro usb cable PSS. I have tried different micro USB cables and different USB port on my computer. https://pasteboard.co/IrH62sH.jpg _______________________________________________________________ **I've got more screenshots. I saw online that you needed to enable the "HID-Compliant game controller" driver for the controller, but I can't do it because it isn't showing.** PS4 controller displayed as an audio device: https://pasteboard.co/IrI32Y3.jpg PS4 (not able to see "HID-Compliant game controller" driver): https://pasteboard.co/IrI2XNZ.jpg

Let me start off by apologizing for being new to the LTT forums and don't know if my post would fit under one category or many. So, I just got a new tv and was wondering if I made a pretty good decision overall (will be used for tv, movies, and console gaming). Since it's my first 4K tv as well as my first HDR capable tv I want to make the most of it and plan to upgrade to a PS4 Pro. During this planning I found out there are more HDMI standards than I realized and it confused me. When it comes to HDMI standards is it dependent on the HDMI Port AND the Cable or just the Cable? If the port itself matters then I am unable to figure out what HDMI standard the Vizio V405 supports. Same goes for the PS4 Pro. Also, I'm aware that the Pro has had a few minor hardware changes and was wondering if they affected the Pro's HDMI standard since I will probably get a refurbished unit. What standard does each version of the Pro support? Thanks in advance for the help and/or redirecting me to the sub-forum(s) best suited for my inquiry.
