So here's the link to the current build. I was going for a 2500 U.S. dollar price point. The machine will be used heavily, a lot of programming and gaming. I went with the x99 board so I could stick to the newest hardware, since I'm investing so much into it, I'd like it to have as much room for future improvement as possible, without completely throwing out the board or CPU. It will be using a triple 1920x1080 monitor set up, of which only one will be used to play games. Anybody have any suggestions, or notice any gaping flaws with the build? Any help would be appreciated as this would be the first time I'm building a PC from the ground up from scratch.

name = str(input("Hello, what is your name?")) print ("Hello "+name) question = str(input("Please press: 1 for multiplication, 2 for addition, 3 for division, or 4 for subtraction.")) #<---singular loop---> mult = 1 if mult: print ("Ok let's do some multiplication.") num1 = int(input("Number 1: ")) num2 = int(input("Number 2: ")) print ("So your numbers are: ",(num1),(num2)) print ("Here is your answer:") print (num1 * num2) else: print ("Sorry please try one of the listed numbers.") add = 2 if add: print ("Ok let's do some addition.") num3 = int(input("Number 1: ")) num4 = int(input("Number 4: ")) print ("So your numbers are: ", (num3), (num4)) print ("Here is your answer:") print (num3 + num4) else: print ("Sorry please try one of the listed numbers.") Ok so i have recently began using python and am trying to allow the user to enter in a number(either 1,2,3, or 4) and then based off of what number was entered have the corresponding math type to open. I think the code itself will probably explain what i am trying to do. Anyway my issue is when i get to the part when it asks for a number and i enter 1 for multiplication, multiplication opens like it is supposed to, but if i enter in 2 for addition multiplication still opens. Infact no mater what i enter the multiplication opens. Ugh i cant figure this out someone please help!

I'm looking for the best programming language to start with! I already did the Khan Academy course, so does anyone have any recommendations on where I can go to continue and what language to continue with. I was looking at C++ and HTML5, but I would really appreciate some advice! Thanks in advance!

Hey guys, lately I've been really interested in Python, I'm watching videos and practicing a lot...which isn't too difficult. So far I've learned the basics (Strings, variables, dictionaries, tuples, integers, floats etc.) But the thing I find most difficult about python is applying it, it's hard to understand what I can use all of these tools for, and it would make programming with python so much easier. So I guess what I am asking here is, what type of programs can python create?

So to learn python I've been using Think Python. And this one exercise just made it break. The exercise: Exercise 7.3. To test the square root algorithm in this chapter, you could compare it with math.sqrt. Write a function named test_square_root that prints a table like this: 1.0 1.0 1.0 0.0 2.0 1.41421356237 1.41421356237 2.22044604925e-16 3.0 1.73205080757 1.73205080757 0.0 4.0 2.0 2.0 0.0 5.0 2.2360679775 2.2360679775 0.0 6.0 2.44948974278 2.44948974278 0.0 7.0 2.64575131106 2.64575131106 0.0 8.0 2.82842712475 2.82842712475 4.4408920985e-16 9.0 3.0 3.0 0.0 The first column is a number, a; the second column is the square root of a computed with the function from Section 7.5; the third column is the square root computed by math.sqrt; the fourth column is the absolute value of the difference between the two estimates. def tsr(a): from math import sqrt #used later in the function x = a y = (x + a / x) / 2 while abs(y - x) > 0.000001: #loop that approximates square roots x = y y = (x + a / x) / 2 b = y c = sqrt(a) #uses built in square root function d = abs(b-c) #finds difference between approximation and sqrt function print a, b, c, dtsr(4.0)tsr(5.0) all numbers besides 4 and 5 work, so those are the only ones I included. For the output, the last number in each line is super broken Output: 4.0 2.0 2.0 2.22044604925e-15 5.0 2.2360679775 2.2360679775 1.88293824976e-13 I was going to ask for help as I was stumped but I realized that Python kinda just broke.

Ok so i have $200 and i dont know what to buy, i either want to get the corsair k70 rgb cherry mx brown and the aorus p3 thunder extended mouse pad. Or i could get an ocz 240gb ssd and 8gb of ram to upgrade my macbook that i recently purchased. So honestly i can really decide, so what would you gys do? Also the macbook is only used for editing on the go (which hardly ever happens), web surfing, photo editing, and programming using microsoft visual studios. So which would you do, and thanks.

Would it be possible to create your own mouse software for an existing mouse? If not, why? I don't know too much about programming but I am genuinely curious as to whether or not someone could write their own mouse software? I got a Razer Ouroboros awhile back and LOVED the shape and layout but the software was awful! In that case, would it be possible to edit the existing software? Take out the requirement for a login and cloud sync? Maybe you could even allow for more specific dpi adjustments... Let me know! -Matt

Hey guys, I'm going to take a proficiency exam in 5 weeks, what resources can I use to practice and brush up on topics like algorithmic analysis of iterative and recursive functions conceptual and programming details of quicksort, mergesort and selection sort. Including worst and best case running times and space requirements recursive programming problems based on linked-lists, trees and mazes performing a mergesort or quicksort partition on a given integer data array and general object orientated programming. I've taken courses about these topics in the past, but it's been a while. There are sample tests available, so I will, of course, take advantage of those. Additionally, there are lecture notes for this specific course. But I'm still wondering if there are any outside tools I can use. Anyone have an idea of what I might need?

I'm a young programmer, i like doing it, studying it and making a living out of it and everything, but i often wonder what i could do to get better at it. I'm at a point now where i quit university and resigned from my job, so while it's good that i have the possibility to make big choices relaitively easily (in the sense that i'm not locked into anything), it's also true that i don't know what the next move will be. While i try to figure things out i would like to hear from you guys if you can think of something in your carreer that made the difference, that step up your skillset and made it easier for you to cosider yourself a professional rather than a casual. Was it university? Your first job? A new job? A personal project? Or was it a slow gradual process of collecting the experiences and the skills on the way, without any remarkable event that magically made you a good programmer?

I have nothing to build a PC, well apart from a budget of £750, I have no monitor, no keyboard and mouse, no spare operating system disks, I want you guys to do your own variations of the system, the only part I need apart from the main system parts is a networking card, because I have no way to run an Ethernet cable. The purpose of this pc is to game and code. I had an idea for an i5 and a 960 but I'm not sure if it will code that well. All help is appreciated! Thanks from tomrubberduck!

Hello folks, I am planning to teach myself some new programming languages (Delphi and C++) and would like to ask the knowledge people over here if they could recommend some well written books that could help me on my journey. I sadly did not find any online resource that truely satisfied and I generally prefer books as it is easier to annotate them! Something with not too bulky text passages and lots of example would be awesome Thank you in advance

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814195134&nm_mc=AFC-C8Junction&cm_mmc=AFC-C8Junction-_-na-_-na-_-na&cm_sp=&AID=10446076&PID=3938566&SID= There are a couple questions for AMD, namely because unified system memory access was nowhere on their roadmaps for computer or workstation graphics cards. Here's why: you can't do that with a GPU. You can only do that with a CPU. This is why Nvidia has been talking about putting ARM cores on its cards for a while now, to do this unified system access and independent scheduling. OpenCL 2.0 requires this level of access. So, AMD claims it EXPECTS the card to be fully OpenCL 2.0 compliant, meaning it's not sure right now, which raises more questions. Intel's broadwell chips with Gen 8 Graphics iGPUs are fully OpenCL 2.0 compliant having implemented unified memory, but that's possible because the CPU and GPU are attached to the same memory bus and are literally attached at the hip. AMD's Kaveri Architecture has unified memory, but the chips were released long before the ratification of OpenCL 2.0, so even with unified memory it's not currently clear if AMD can rig Kaveri to handle it all in hardware. So, can anyone dig up some more info? did AMD put ARM cores on their FirePro cards, X86 cores maybe, or is there some other trick they implemented to try to do this? For reference, Nvidia Maxwell is on OpenCL 1.2 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/GeForce_900_series So are Intel Gen 7.5 Graphics in Haswell and below and the AMD Rx 200 series.

Hi everyone, I happen to be in my final year of university and I have chosen to take a robotics project as my final year project. I felt it would keep me very interested throughout the year and be challenging enough that it would look quite impressive at the end as well. I have chosen to build a Lego Mindstorm EV3 robot and have it map a room using its infrared sensor to detect obstacles and objects. The problem I have run into is getting the kohonen map to work... well when I say work I mean I have no idea as to how I should implement it. I have been programming in Java to do this project and was wondering if anyone had any ideas as to where I could find an example of this being implemented so that I could work off it as a basis and make my project a success and hopefully get a decent grade. Thanks.

import java.util.Scanner;public class CashRegister{ public static void main(String[]args) { Scanner scan = new Scanner(System.in); System.out.print("Please enter the name of an item: "); String userItem = scan.next(); double itemPriceTotal = 0; while(!userItem.equals("quit")) { System.out.println("Please enter the price of the item: "); int itemPrice = scan.nextInt(); itemPriceTotal=+itemPrice; System.out.print("Please enter the name of an item: "); userItem = scan.next(); } System.out.println(itemPriceTotal); } public static void printReceipt(int subtotal, int tax, int total) { System.out.println("Subtotal " + "$" + subtotal); System.out.println("Tax " + "$" + tax); System.out.println("-------------------------------"); System.out.println("Total " + "$" + total); }} I can't seem to remember how to keep a running total of numbers. Basically this program prompts the user for the name of an item and then the price for the item. What I want to do is keep a running total of the price of the items and then eventually print it out. What exactly am I doing wrong here? Thanks for your help!

Hello all, as I'm up all night to write programs for my classes that are a week late (oral surgery, ugh) I decided to ask this question in my Adderall induced programming mode. As tech enthusiasts, programmers, and software lovers of the internet; would you be interested in a brand new OS ecosystem? My perspective and the reasoning behind this questions are: 1. In the current world of personal computing we have Unix, Linus+GNU, Mac OS X(granted this is basically Unix but pretty), Chrome OS (is this really an OS?), and the famed and infamous Windows. 2. In the phone world we have Android, iOS, Windows Phone, and some spinoff's (Unix phone anyone?) 3. In the tablet world we have the same as above for phones. Some are good, some are bad. Now, given that Apple (love em or hate em) have an OS for each division, as does microsoft, I would say that they can present an Ecosystem. Apple, in my opinion, is vastly superior in the actual ecosystem area. Apple has great quality on their products, but they charge a fairly significant mark up for the hardware they use. iOS is good, but could deal with some pretty hefty improvements. Mac OS is probably my favorite desktop OS for everyday use, but it's pretty inaccessible to those who can't pay for the name brand. Microsoft has created a fairly strong hold of the market due to them reaching so far back into the history of the market. Android has a pretty large hold on the mobile market, due to being open sourced and widely used by many companies (Samsung, HTC, etc). My theory is to create a better experience than Windows for the average person, but also the enthusiast (I'm a hardcore gamer); and mobile experience that just works, same with tablet (they're not too far from each other, in my opinion). The real thing that ties them together is an ecosystem. A sense of familiarity to each product. One company, or identity, that is innovative and driven to help the transition from day to day life. Would anyone here be interested in such an ecosystem? Disclaimer: I am currently medicated while writing this, so I might clear up any potential in the morning. Also, I am not currently working on any such product, and with no interest I would likely not even start it. Never hurts to ask though.

so I am wondering. because iv recently been around with the Idea to create youtube videos of me making a game. for a youtuber. the game's profit will mostly be for charity and I don't know if I should post the videos of me making it. I will be selling it on steam and im worried about people stealing my ideas and copyng my work. I am quite a slow game developper since I don't have much time on my hands. do you think its worth the try anyway ? I would not show the actual code. but rather what the maps looks like when I make them with Photoshop and rpgmaker. thank you

Hi everyone, I'm just wondering if there is a way to choose where to save a file in a web application. I know it is very unsecure, and I also know that the browser is the one who chooses where to save a file when downloading. But I am not making a consumer/public website, I'm currently making a private system so I need a way on how to force a web application to show the "Save as" dialog and enable the user to choose where they want to save the file. Thank you all in advance....
