I wasn't for sure what section this best fitted in, but if another section is best fitted for this thread, please move it. But anyways here is my question: Windows Backup and Restore (Windows 7) vs Macrium Reflect I used to use Windows Backup and Restore when I was running Windows 7. Then Microsoft dropped it in Windows 8/8.1 and I started to use Macrium Reflect. Now fast forward to the release of Windows 10, It now comes with the ability to use the Windows Backup and Restore like it was in Windows 7. My question is now Should I continue to use Macrium Reflect or should I go back to using Windows Backup and Restore (Windows 7)? I am trying to get all my backups on one program so I can arrange them as needed.... -
Im trying to reprogram my one of my two keybords to register as a soundeffect kinda like what tarren did for edditing just a little diffrent tryed to follow that video but kept getting stuck at the same spot PLZZ HELP trying to get this done before tomo before i have to stream -
General media player for video, music, etc... If your program is not on the poll just post a reply and I will add it Windows media player (i think) no longer comes with windows 10, so when I upgrade I will look for a better option to use Currently also have VLC installed, but I'd like to know what others use too

Hey everybody, I'm almost done with my Computer Science Bachelor's. Honestly, I'm kind of disappointed. It was super focused on programming and not very holistic at all. I think a good Computer Science program should set you up for the various popular certifications out there like CompTIA, CCNA, MCSA, etc. I had like one class on Networking! I had one class on Basic Hardware! I had like 13 classes on Programming! It had such a narrow focus. Really annoying. I'm more interested in being a Systems Administrator or a Network Engineer. What was your Computer Science program like? -

So I've been wanting to play around with the air pressure inside my case and get an optimal healthy airflow going. I'm looking for a software program that will let me control my fan speeds. I've been told that speedfan is not compatible with Windows 10 so I need something that will be able to work with that. I have a gigabyte mini itx board and a corsair 250d case with an H100i cpu cooler. Using one 140 Corsair Static pressure in the front, and two 120 Static pressure on the side on the rad and then of corse the fan on the gpu on the opposite side. All are intakes and I have a positive pressure so the air is flowing out of the back just fine with no rear 80mm fans. Just want to play around with it a little bit.

Hi! I was browsing through youtube and saw some awesome RGB audio visualizers for some famous mouse and keyboard brands. I'm just wondering might there be any kinds of programs or scripts to do this for some not so famous brands? I currently own an Arachnid Araneus gaming mouse that has LED's though not RGB. There probably won't be, because every keyboard and mouse driver is a bit different, but i'm just curious to ask if there actually exists any? -

Hi. I just recalled a program I had used a while ago and I'm hoping somebody can help me locate it. Unfortunately I don't remember a name (or if it even had one) so I'll try to describe it to the best of my ability. The program was web based, I had saved the website but I don't think it survived a few OS wipes/switches. The site would allow you to upload an image, and then begin generating polygons that would eventually look like your image. I know of other programs to do this, but this program had one unique thing. It would place these polygons in a 3D space and you were able to mouse drag around to the sides which made for a very unique effect. It was a very plain website, I believe it had a control panel on the left to control the speed of generation and a few other things. I believe it was a few years ago that I was using it, and I've done all of the digging I know how to do in order to try and find it. No luck. If anyone has any idea what it was or where to find it, any help would be much appreciated. Thanks.

I got win 10 running on a fx6300 with low cost dual channel 8gb ddr3 ram. I am using some SanDisk SSD for the os and a seagate Barracude for data. GPU is a geforce 730gt, mainboard is from asrock,psu is rated at 550w. System was running just fine up until now. Problem is: after restart every menu and program is loading extremely slowly when first executed after restart (taking up to 3 minutes to open) but after it loaded u can close and reload it at a speed that you would expect of this system. This includes the task manager,store, all the right click drop down menus, installations etc. I already checked for errors in the system files, the ram, the temperatures and got all the latest drivers installed. CPU usage seemed to be pretty low at about 0-9%. If someone could help me, that would be great.

Hai guys , So few...er...i guess a month or 2 , probably less I have posted a thread about 1/3 fans on my gpu slowly dying. Aye , ever since i experienced multiple GPU crashes , I dropped it at the store , at the lab , they didn't manage to recreate the problem , i insisted that; 1) they totally ignored the fact 1/3 fans sounds like a car from the 60s 2) the gpu is crashing , obv , otherwise I wouldn't bother , aye? aye. So what they said , "If you could run it through some pressure tests on your rig and send us the results we'll take a look at it and consult....~~~~" . Right , so if they do findout that it is broken , as i claim , I will get a replacement , new functioning GPU. So right now I need a program that can er , well , run my GPU through a really serious pressure test and also give soem kind of RRRRrrresults?...I am not sure how is it working , they asked for me to bring them with results and some X Y Z that shit happened. How am I supposed to do that? , What program should I use? , Anyone? anything? something ? someone? Thank you for reading. (Hope I made myself clear tho.) p.s. , I have an AMD card , idk if that matters in any kind of way to the answers.

Hello guys, I want to record some music. I decided I want to write rap and I already had a V67G for when I was gaming and streaming. I want to record at home but I don't want to spend something of the likes of 200$ on recording software. Say I want to use Adobe Audition... is there going to be any problem if I torrent the program without paying ? I KNOW it's not good to do so, but I can't afford it anyway. I mean I can buy it but I gotta spend the money on beats and other stuff. Thank you

Hello! ^^ I am studying programming engineering at university and I've got task to write a DOS program/game it should use only DOS commands, no C,pascal, or any other programming language. Only DOS commands It should have 7+ pages of code I do not ask you to write But maybe you know some sites where I can find simple DOS programs/games with "source code"? Or at least can you suggest something to write to fill 7 pages with commands? btw, I'll need to do everything under Windows cmd I can write it by myself, but I feel like it is a waste of time... I'd better continue my c++ projects rather than DOS, that's why I am searching for already written program/game. Hope you understand and thanks in advice

NASA recently posted the following on their twitter page The space giant NASA, is organising this for the launch of the their cargo space-craft and are obviously pushing for social media users to spread the word on this event. The event will take place in Florida, December 2-3 and the launch is planned for December 3. So with the launch of Windows 10, end user license agreements have changed dramatically. Microsoft is attempting to to change the way they are selling their software - not as a product, but rather as a service. Microsoft account integration, Cortana, DirectX 12 being exclusive to Windows 10 are just a few things power users aren't too happy about. And lately, there has been proofs of Windows 10 trying to connect to Microsoft's serves without being given any kind of instruction to do so. This raises questions on whether the software you bought can be considered your property, or even safe/private enough to be trusted. Many people decided to jump ship for this particular reason. In 2016, casual computer users will find most of the software that works on Windows work on Linux aswell, or have an open-source alternative, but there are still certain programs that have neither Linux port or open-source alternative. The purpose of this thread is to point out the kind of software Linux lacks the most and educate the LTT community on open-source alternatives Linux already supports. Hopefully this thread can help open-source developers understand the needs of Linux community and/or extend the list of alternative software on the amazing thread by rashdanml. The rules: No games or drivers - it is too simple to point out all of this software and too hard for the open-source community to actually write proper alternatives (DRM). Maybe in a separate thread. Try not to point out software that has a Linux alternative which is not just as functional. That means open-source community is aware of the need for software of such kind and is working on it The lower list will be updated as LTT community posts their suggestions I might decide to add a rule or two in order to keep conversation constructive The list: Flawless Widescreen MSI Afterburner Text-to-speech applications DaVinci Resolve Please, leave a comment about what you would want to be ported over to Linux, so we can improve the list! -
I'm using a shared computer, and have installed fraps and a few other programs, which I don't want my parents to know - they regularly check control panel, so I intend to hide those in the control panel. I also use CCleaner, and I know one can 'delete' a registry entry of a program, to hide it from control panel. But for some programs, I'm unable to delete programs as it says "Can't delete MSI installer". Can someone suggest a way for me to do this? Thanks! A lot!

Hey guys, The other day on the WAN show Luke mentioned he uses a program to save all of his passwords. I am just curious if anyone knows what he uses, or what are some that you guys use. I would prefer it to be a program that runs offline so I can access certain programs while offline.

Hello, I came here seeking for the endless knowledge of the LLT comunity This wednesday I'm gonna take my Gamecube USB controller adaptor to the univerisity, so we can play some games while we wait for the result of our finals. However, on those computers we don't have access to the administrator account, and almost every setting from the control panel has been blocked. This GC controller adaptor needs to be calibrated before use, and since the default USB gamepad utility has been blocked, is there any other alternative way (software/program) to calibrate them?

Hello guys i have a problem with my windows XP it says "make sure you typed the name correctly and then try again" i tried opening anything in SAFE MODE still i cant open anything.. im very sure that this is a Virus problem, but i dont want to reformat this computer And i dont have the original CD. and i cant boot on USB i tried same OS but i still cant. if you're wondering why XP. its not mine some old mans Laptop he got all his files here so i dont want to reformat it. do i have another option? without reformatting this laptop ? thanks in advance !
