I am having an issue where cinema 4d freezes randomly and sometimes never recovers requiring me to close it from task manager. I am working on renderings of fairly large scenes, but the cpu is barely used and my ram is never over 30%. When this occurs, the memory usage of c4d gets stuck and does not change. this occurs sometimes in other software as well, but c4d/octane is the majority of my workflow. Is there something I can do about this? I need to be able to speed up my workflow and this is a big hindrance. specs: cpu: i9 7900x ram: 64gb gskill 3200 gpu: 1080ti, 2080ti mobo: msi tomahawk ac os drive: samsung 970 evo 1tb -
Hi, lately my internet (PC connected through cable directly to modem) has very high latency moments. I have tried turning off wifi what brings the latency to "normal" most of the times. But as soon the wifi is turned on, it almost feels like if someone connected through wifi gets a WhatsApp the latency just goes crazy up. Is there a program that let´s you: - see what devices (hopefully by naming the device) are connected to the wifi - terminate any unauthorized or not needed connection (for example a TV Im not using right now). - Configure the modem in a way so wired connected PC wont ever again be affected by some devices taking all the bandwidth (Something like 50% bandwidth for wired connections and 50% for any other device connected wireless). - Configure modem in a way that cable connected PC will have priority sending and receiving data. - That let´s you know which actual programs / windows services are using bandwidth from the PC and terminate those connections with just one click or mode? After searching on the web I found tons of programs promising some of those things but none seemed reliable to me (webpage full of strange adds). That´s why I decided to ask this here (probably not the first doing so but found no answers on other treads). thanks -
Hi, so basically, out of no where in the last 3 days my computer has had apps like chorme and discord just randomly freeze and blackout while playing minecraft. I legit have no idea what's going on, other than I noticed after the apps crash, in task manager, it says windows suspended a process to "improve performance." Minecraft takes up at best 5/16Gbs of ram I have, and it does put a heavy load on the CPU, but it's never been enough to effect anything else on the system. Why is windows randomly killing processes for other programs and causing them to crash? Why did it only start on legit April 1st? How do I stop this? -
I'm running through building the loop in my system and I am a very visual person. So I began looking for a CAD program that specializes in the design of custom built computers. It would ideally have a built in catalog of parts/components. Obviously it wouldn't be able to contain ALL of the little niche companies and pieces but those could be added by the user if the desired. If it was designed correctly it would greatly help in custom builds, water cooling loops, case mods, etc. I understand that there is the PC Building game but obviously I'm talking about something that is more professional and precise. If this exists then please someone let me know so I don't begin working on something that will be a tremendous waste of time.

Hey guys, just a quick one. I have uTorrent running on a server of mine. It's currently using a SOCK5 proxy but looses connection if its been dormant for over an hour. Its fixed by restarting the program. Is there a way I can make like a cron job so that the program is killed/started on an hourly basis? This would be on Windows 7 Thanks guys!

Fellow Techies, I hope y'all are doing well. I am new to this area of LLT and new to Programing. I watched a few videos of people doing so serious $h!t with coding and programming and got a little bit of an itch now. I am a full time student and stay decently busy but I get a couple of hours free here and there. Where and what is good place to start learning. What is the difference between coding and programming? I am not great at teaching myself but I can do so if given lots of free time. If someone can at least point in the right direction I will be most grateful. Thanks a bunch.

Hello guys, I wanted to create a basic program like a batch file that opens a Command prompt window in a specific location and runs a command. Then I would like it to log everything it outputs. If you wanna know, I'm trying to run a command that displays power usage for Nvidia GPU's in actual watts and not a TDP percentage. The latter has been rendered useless with my custom BIOS since the max TDP isn't the same anymore. It has to run a command prompt in a specific location and type in a command. This will make it output every second, the power consumption and I want it to log the values. How can I create such a program? It's very basic but I know nothing about programming . Any help is appreciated

If anyone has been keeping tabs on me, you'll know I'm deep into this USB SD card reader project of mine. I'm at a point where everything seems to work, but there's a catch. If I plug my USB SD card reader into the PC first, then plug my SD card into it, the computer doesn't see the SD card. If I plug my SD card into the reader first, then plug it all into my PC, the computer sees it. Problem is if I remove the card and try to reinsert it, the computer won't read it again. With or without the card, the computer still chimes when I plug the USB reader into the port, so the stick isn't dead. From what I understand, the USB SD card reader attempts to read what's plugged into it only once at the point it receives power from the USB port. Is there a way for me to re-program the stick or my computer to keep making the stick re-check itself for an SD card? Of course I don't want it to keep re-prompting me over and over again if I leave an SD card in it. Is there a way I can keep my USB SD card reader alive and open to me inserting and removing SD cards while just leaving the stick plugged in? (PS. The answer is not to buy a new reader.)

Hello guys, I would like to know if a program that monitors network traffic from a pc and alerts another one (both are connected to the same router and in the same house) when a specific site is being viewed exists. Before anyone starts yelling "privacy" at me, it's because my stubborn little brother never does him homework (for which he needs his PC) and goes on YT and we've been getting reports of him doing his hmw in class or not at all lately. If such a program doesn't exist, is there anyone who could make one for me? I know it may be a lot to ask if you have to write it all for me but I'd really really appreciate of anyone can link me to such a program or made one for me. I'm bad at even making .bat files so I don't think I can make it myself nor have the time to learn programming right now. Please if anyone can do this for me, I would be infinitely thankful. Also, we are both running windows 10 and if the program sends me timestamps of when YT is being viewed it's gonna be good, or just make a notification pop-up on my pc without alerting him works too. Hi guys, for about a month now I was not able to start Blade and Soul. I get to the login screen, get to the updater (which updates when there is an update), click on play and even see the gameguard starting and thats it. The game wont come up, not even a small loading icon that normally does - the support gave up on me as of this Monday. The strange part is, it worked for a week in this time without any explainable cause (tried starting it in the morning, came back afternoon and tried again and it worked - no update in between on my or the games side). Any other program runs fine and the game does work on a different pc (same room, even switched LAN cables to test it), and if I log in on both pc's one gets kicked out - so it registers the starting... I do not get any error message and in my task manager I can see the exe running (see attached file). So far tried without any results: Reinstall game Remove game and all components from ncsoft and reinstall Remove Bitdefender Reinstall Windows and in the process format the entire two drives (one SSD, one harddrive) and only install BNS as well as nvidia driver for my graphic card. System: Windows 10 Pro 64bit MSI H170A Gaming Pro (MS-7978) , Version 2.20 MSI Nvidia GeForce GTX 970 Crucial SSD MX200 WD Blue Desktop W20EZRZ (2TB) Corsair Vengeance LPX Black 16GB DDR4 (2x8GB) Corsair RM550x (550Watt) Do any of you have an Idea what to do? I dont mind formatting and reinstalling windows again if that helps you.

I was looking for an application for windows 10 that can allow me to mirror my screen to a different computer that is not on the same network. It would be used so that me and my friend that doesn't live nearby anymore can watch some movies I have. Something similar to the rabb.it website. It has to be able to transmit sound so not like Skype screen share, and preferably with an easy to use UI and not too much latency. Googles Remote control could be nice if it didn't give him control of the PC and transmitted sound. Thanks in advance! -triniP

so i dont remeber in which operation system it was but in that opereting system you could turn off your coputer but it will copy your ram and load it again at opening so noting will be lost are there any programs that can do it? like press a button to copy all ram and press a button to load it all again if yes plz tell me thx!

I'm looking to publish about 40 photos I took during my travels to a few social media pages, and wanted to batch-watermark them before doing so. What's a good free program that I can use to watermark all the photos in a single process? Also, if the program is a free trial that adds an additional watermark unless you purchase it, then I won't consider the recommendation. Regards, Aereldor.

So I have speedfan all set up to use on my different fans, but there a still 2 things I'd love to know 1) How do I get it to startup on boot, putting it in the startup section of the windows file doesnt work 2) I've still not yet figured out how to set all the percentages to stay between bootups, it always resets to 27% and i have to manually punch them in every time

Hello LTT forum. I'm trying to install inventor in my Laptop but my boot ssd doesn't have the space to do so sadly. In the Autodesk Desktop app I set my install and content directory to my D: drive to no avail... It just continues to say that I haven't have the space on my C: drive to install it. Is autodesk products forced C: drive only or something? Cheers to anyone that can help.

I'm currently working on a project that's similar to how reality shows would shoot footage. It was extremely unorganized and a massive mess. I came after the fact so I've been helping them get their shit together. I had them get 4x 8TB G-Drives so we could properly catalog and back everything up. We had our old drives labeled 1-4. G-Drives labeled A, B, A1, B1. My plan was to alternate hard drives to sort of kill two birds with one stone. I wasn't the only one copying files though, Each G-Drive is supposed to have 4 folders labeled 1-4 analogous to each older HDD. These fuckin chineses once again screwed some things up and it's practically a mess again. TL;DR I tried to help, they fucked it up further, and now I have to fix another problem. No, they didn't get RAID drives like they should've. No, files aren't even done being copied over yet. What I need is a program that will look at HDD A, and then somehow find the files in HDD B and reorganize them like they are in HDD A. Also find missing files that are on HDD A, but aren't on HDD B. I'm hoping there's an all-in-one, but ideally I'd also like to be able to check for inconsistencies such as duplicate files in HDD A and allow me to pick and choose what to keep. If not, that's fine. Just to state hopefully obvious things, since there is so much footage, we don't have time to just copy everything from HDD 1-4 and copy them to A, then copy A to B. It should be able to recognize what's there, and reorganize everything without having to actually copy anything, it's simply file structure inconsistencies I believe. -

Greetings. I've been looking for a basic, free photo editor for windows. Back when I used OSX, I used Photoshop for a few complicated edits, but I generally used the simple editors found in Preview and iPhoto. Both come built into OSX, and are simple and straightforward enough to serve my purposes. Unfortunately, I no longer have access to a Mac, and was looking for a replacement on Windows. Hey guys, I have an xps 15 (9550) and I love it, but I mostly use it in the dark with the brightness turned to 0% on windows and I also have an external app called windows shades witch turns the screen even dimmer (I set it to 70% - 80%) I also need to use the keyboard sometimes and since I can't see it I am forced to use the keyboard backlighting at 50% (and even though it's the lowest setting, it feels like it's 1000 times brighter than the sun) It also does not help that I sit at the "perfect" angle where the backlight slips trough the gap between the key caps... I know of the dell app witch allows you a little more customizability, but not in the backlight porcentage... So, is there a program that allows me to set it manually to a procent?

Does anybody know what program has this logo? I just noticed that it starts up when I start my PC but it goes away after about 4 seconds or faster if I try to interact with it.
