Im thinking of upgrading my system starting by the graphics card. My main workload is 3D with Maya, Zbrush, Blender and Marmoset.So I cant choose to have a AMD graphics card since most of these software have been optimized to run on CUDA cores. I game sometimes when I have time but I have 1080p monitors. Yes I have 3 of them My current system is an AMD Ryzen 7 2700x with an Asus GTX 1060 6GB and a 650W PSU in a MSI B350 Gaming Plus motherboard Im thinking of getting a RTX 4070 since its the most powerful card that my current PSU can handle with the most VRam that is good for rendering. I have seen benchmarks that put it on par with a RTX3080. I would like to upgrade and not have to worry about for the next 5 years. And prices for the 3000 series are still high. So my though is to get a 4000 series that has lower power consumption Current prices in Europe are around 700 Euros. But I have seen one go as low 620 EUR. Do you think this is a good decision? Should I wait for NVIDIA to release the 4060 so the prices drop? Will the price drop? What are you recommendations?

Budget (including currency): 750~1000€ Country: Bulgaria Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Mainly Blender (3d modelling + rendering), Spine Pro, Quixel Mixer (maybe), Clip Studio Paint, To a lesser extent Da Vinci Resolve, Light Gaming (I mostly play Indie) and maybe very later down the line some music/audio related projects. Right, so my PC went kaput recently - started BSOD-ing constantly, the mobo fried (clean your PC regularly kids) and now, when i turn it on, the screen is pitch-black and the PC doesn't turn off unless i manually shut the PSU down. So, i guess I'm in the market for a new Build. I do however also have a lot of questions. The main bottleneck I'm worrying about is my own skill level, as I'm still an amateur, to put it kindly. I also have some health issues, though temporary (I hope), that currently limit how much work I can do on a pc (nothing severe, but still a detriment). As such, I'm reluctant to spend too much money on something I probably wont be able to utilise fully, at least until both my skills and health improve; however I also don't really want to screw myself with something particularly bad either. I have been planning on switching to Linux as well due to general frustration with Windows and maybe keeping the old SSD for a dual-boot in case I need something specific. Just a heads up the prices are in lv./лв. so just slash whatever you see in half and you'll get the actual € value. A Thousand and One Questions: Q1: For V2 is it possible to go for 16gb RAM? Q2: For V2 is it also possible to go for a B450? Q3: Would a R5 3600 work with a 3060, or would it bottleneck and affect render times too much? Q4: Should I upgrade later, since apparently new parts would be coming out by the end of year and things might reduce in price? Q5: Or now, to avoid soaring prices if inflation and supply chain stuff is at too high a risk? Q6: Or am i overthinking it? Q7: How useful would an NVME be, or is it more of a luxury buy? Q8: Is it preferred to install the OS on a separate partition and/or drive or is it unnecessary? Q9: Is resell-ability something I should keep in mind when buying a system or does tech advance too fast for it to matter? Q10: Should I worry about BIOS version compatibility or is upgrading it easy enough? That's about it for now, I think. I hope this isn't too hard of a read, I don't really post on forums much. I am in the process of upgrading my monitor situation to accommodate an new job that requires much more monitor real-estate. My configuration would be as follows. The reason for this is I already have the 2 27in monitors and not enough desk space to put them on the sides of the ultrawide. My concern is this. I am unsure of the best way to mount it. Hi All, Even since ive seen the reviews of the rtx 3080, im now starting to decide on upgrading my current rig. However, when watching the reviews, i have noticed that at 1440p, CPU's seem to start bottle neckking performance of the new cards. So since avaliablity of the new cards is so scarce, im thinking that i might want to upgrade my CPU platform before getting the new GPU. My current specs are as follows: I7 5960X (4.3 Ghz) 32GB ram (2400mhz) MSI X99 XPower Titanium EVGA 1080ti FTW3 I was thinking that if i upgrade to maybe a Ryzen 9 3900XT and a new 32GB kit of ram at over 3000 Mhz speed then when the cards become probably avaliable (probs towards the start of 2021) i upgrade then. BUDGET: ~$500 USD (somewhat flexible) USE CASE: in order of priority - productivity, light/casual gaming, media consumption I should start by saying I did read the "how to choose a monitor" pinned topic, however I found it pretty overwhelming. I still don't really know how to start narrowing down options for what I am looking for. Basically, like the title says, I am looking for a display ( or maybe two cheaper displays?) that provides a good productivity and media consumption experience but also performs reasonably well for casual gaming. Some context: I am comp sci college student in the process of building my first PC with help from the "New Builds and Planning" subforum. Because of my major, I will likely spend a lot of time reading and writing text (code) on my computer, so I want a display that minimizes eye strain over time. I have found that displays with high resolutions, high contrast, and low light leakage are best for this purpose, especially when it comes to text. If this were my only requirement, I would just start looking at high res and/or OLED displays. In addition to this, though, I want to start getting into more casual gaming once I don't have to do it on my laptop. To this end, I don't really want to buy a productivity display that will cripple my gaming experience. Given this context, I think my main questions are as follows: Am I looking for a 'holy grail' monitor that just doesn't exist, at least in my budget? Am I better off looking for two different, more specialized monitors, each at a lower price? If I just focus on getting a solid productivity monitor, can I still expect to get a reasonably good casual gaming experience? In case it helps, here is the current working parts list for my PC. This isn't necessarily all locked in, but the final build will likely be very close to this. Just to be clear, I have never shopped for a monitor before, and I am relatively new to the forum. I work for a large company that has very tight restrictions on end user control of computers. This is for security purposes. So my question is, is it possible to have a mouse set up on my personal pc (create shortcuts, macros, etc) and have it work on my work pc with no software on it. I know the mouse must have onboard memory, but other than that im lost. I purchased a G602 thinking that it will work with some of the software and be the answer to my problem. any solutions/ fixes will be helpful

Hello friends, I am looking to replace both my Asus MX259 monitors. I mostly do web developing and general programming. The monitors are ok, but I want 1440p+ since code looks pixelated at the size I prefer and it is causing eye fatigue. I often work long sessions 10h-12h at a time so I want quality monitors that are not going to burn my eyes. Also the MX259 have no VESA mount and I would consider mounting the new monitors on the wall to improve posture a bit. I like slim bezels and use Photoshop, but I don't feel I need anything too fancy colour wise. I have a mac so USB C would be preferable, but I'm living the dongle life already. I live in Canada and would like to spend around 1000 CAD or less. I don't give a single F about refresh rate or gaming features. Hey all, So I have a new dilemma going on. My current setup consists of a ryzen 5 3800x (no, I got it for the price of 3700x), ex 5700 xt, 16gb ram. And I used to have 3 27"s aand a 24" tilted down from the middle. Recently I wanted to change that for bigger monitors. I tried 32", 34" UW, and then a 49". I returned all of them but I really liked the 49" as I'm waiting for my refund to hit my amazon account to get the Samsung one (had a viotek but it had some sort of static noise when on) - just dont know if the extra 350+ is worth for 1440p. The viotek was just fine for me. Anyhow, now that I settled on the 49", i was gonna stack 2 of them but then i decided the cost is just now worth it so I'd rather have a single 49" but with a TV on top. This is where the issue comes as I'm not sure what tv to get. I looked at Samsung's QN55LS03RAFXZA Frame 55-Inch QLED 4K (6ms under 1440p@120hz - rtings), and the Q80R - about the same specs. Now a couple people suggested me LG's C9 (future-proof with HDMI 2.1 etc) and others brought up the new tv/monitor LG is working on, the 48CX. I'll be using this display for well, everything except FPS games. Including trading. What do you guys recommend? Do you use a tv as a second screen? What is it and how has it been for you? Thanks. PS: I'm thinking about putting my 24" (it is a gaming monitor) on a side arm and if I need it to play fps, itll just drop from the side into the middle of my desk.
