I've been considering my next monitor upgrade being this LG ultrawide. I know I need a minimum of 1440p and a minimum size of 27'' and maybe no bigger than 32''~. Just starting to think if the ultrawide screen real estate is worth it. Most productivity software rely on vertical space rather than horizontal, be that programming, Office or most other software. Even video editing needs vertical timeline space for all the layers. Can anyone say if an ultrawide is worth it over two 1440p monitors when it comes to productivity? I bet 99% of the time I'll just have the windows split in the middle. Windows 10 doesn't do 3 equally split windows does it? Maybe even over one normal and one turned vertically for the extra vertical space similar to how diehard programmers have their monitors laid out... If you guys are recommending a 1440p/4k panel for productivity, any suggestions? I'd like a monitor to cost no more than £800~

Summary Cooler Master announces its upcoming ORB X: an immersive, dome-shaped multi-purpose station for gaming, entertainment, and work. The ORB X is a 757-pound, 6 by 6 feet, semi-enclosed professional battle station, made of vacuum forming thermoplastic polymer. The "gaming cockpit" is available right now for waitlist registration; you can pre-order the ORB X this month for $15,499. But that’s the price for the station only. If you want customization, or added complexity in the setup, the price will go up. Quotes My thoughts I think this is a cool concept, I would definitely buy one if I had the type of disposable income that would allow such a purchase. It's not the first of it's kind; in 2018, Acer debuted its Predator Thronos. There's also the MWE Lab's Emperor XT. Although, I feel personally that Cooler Master's take on this type of product seems more complete and visually appealing. The prior two seem more like prototype designs. Acer's Thronos starts at $13,999 and the Emperor XT by MWE Lab starts at $4,950 for one monitor. Thus, this is much more expensive than the other two. It would be cool if Linus could get ahold of one of these ORB X's to review on the main channel, maybe for the "HOLY $H!T" series. The price is quite steep of course, although, supposedly that's the rumored price, not definitive. Judging by the people who've had hands-on experience with it, it seems though that the construction of the product is quite exceptional -- and it's overengineered quite a bit. Therefore, while expensive, maybe the price is warranted for the quality of product you get. Judging by the fact that the Predator Thronos is about $1,500 cheaper than the expected price of the Orb X, it seems quite possible that the rumored $15,000 price point is accurate. As the Thronos seems well-constructed as well, although the aesthetic is completely different. Either way, here is another product that 99% of PC Enthusiasts will not be able to afford. Hi everyone, This is my first attempt at building a PC and I'd love to get your input, advice and suggestions. I am aiming at 1.5k euros for the computer that ideally can run 1440p at 144hz, monitor and Windows I can spend extra on top. 0. Budget (including currency): 1500 euros (happy to spend for monitor and Windows on top of that) 1. Country: Spain 2. Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: I use my computer for literally a lot of different activities, so throwing a couple of things I see myself doing: Gaming - Mostly RTS and other multiplayer games. Rocket league, Valorant, Overwatch, etc. I sometimes play single player AAA games, but it's usually on the side and for those I generally don't mind not running them 100% if I can't. Likely to stream do some high level photo/video editing for fun. I do some data science and coding on my computer, mostly through R / Python. Generally R runs with RAM, but I don't do heavy stuff on my personal computer so 16gb ram is probably OKish for my day to day use and I can always expand. I store photos, movies and audio in my computer so I opted for a 2TB M.2 drive, but happy to get advice on better configurations. Is it better to have all files in a separate SSD? Will try DJing as a hobby soon (trying new things out). I guess processor and M.2 are good enough for low latency between program and computer? Part of the reason I went for M.2 4.0 I occasionally play chess (beginner level) and I like to run chess engines on the computer. Not looking for professional computing or top of class engine computer, just that it performs decent. Given that my current 10 year old comptuer does fine, I am not worried about it with the proposed build. Went a couple bucks more expensive for some RGB as I never had them in my computer before 3. Monitors Main monitor to run at 1440p 144hz (need to buy) Secondary monitor will be my current one (1080p, 60hz) Thanks a lot! Soooo I am a mutimedia creator. I want the monitor to have the best color acuresi and 4k resolution would be nice. And if it would be nice to have 240Hz for some gaming. I use Adobe Lightroom PhotoShop Premire and DaVinci Resolve. Can someone help me?

Hi everyone, Because of everything going on and the fact that I won't have any classes for another month, I'm looking into building my first PC. My budget is around $2000-2500 CAD including taxes and shipping, which bumps it down to $1700-2100. I would like to get a 1440p curved display and would need the computer to be balanced between productivity/school work and gaming. I do need peripheral except for anything audio. Would anyone have any suggestion for the best system I could build for the money? Thanks a lot for the help!

Lately, I've been interested in building my own server and have been looking into the things I could use it for. One use that caught my eye was using it as a render server for your 3D and video editing. So yes, this is a noobs question but when I'm doing all my work on my main desktop, how do I get a separate server machine to do all the rendering work for it? Thanks.

It doesn't have to the best at any of them just not noticeably bad at any either. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I am also new to this world so some explanation would help a lot. Thank you! Hey everyone! So I am looking for an effective monitor that will have good color-accuracy, while not necessarily breaking the bank. It doesn't need a stellar refresh rate, since I will not be using it for gaming. I mainly edit photos, do some video work and do a lot of online research, so the main specialization I would need, again, is that nice color accuracy and image quality. Ultra-wide monitors would be welcomed, but regular monitors would be nice too! Any suggestions?

I was curious what people think is a better option for the x99 platform for a motherboard? I am an ASUS fan so I would like to know people's experiences for OC's on each with a 6800k and x99 Deluxe II or, if i can pinch it in, a 6850k and the Sabertooth TUF sabertooth. I am leaning more towards the Sabertooth and 6850k but I wanted to check before I commit.

Sup folks, I'm looking for a good productivity laptop for college and travel. I'm looking for the following things: 15" maximum screen size LED backlit keyboard Windows 10 OS 1080p or greater (preferably) screen resolution Thin Light Preferably aluminium or other metal finish It doesn't need to be extremely powerful, I just want it to be good for watching films on the go, basic photo and video editing, writing Word documents and basic web browsing such as YouTube, Amazon etc.. Thin- and lightness is also important, as I travel a lot and want to be able to take it with me everywhere. SSD would be nice too, but I think most laptops at this pricepoint have one nowadays. Hey Guss, I will be starting college this fall and I'm gonna need a laptop for it. The main tasks are gonna be: - note taking in class - Microsoft office - Movie and music streaming - light photoshop and premiere pro (just some light-weight 1080 footage) - light gaming, mainly competitive games live League of Legends, CS:GO and FIFA (1080p 60 frames should be doable) i also would like a nice looking ips screen, maybe touch (don't know if I'll need it). I assume, a hq processor would be nice for the full 4 cores and some gpu for the Tals described above... thunderbolt 3 is also interesting for eGPU setups. "All day battery life" is also needed or at least for long study sessions! My budget is around 2000€ and I'm located in Germany. I already looked in to the dell xps 15 9560 (with i7, 4K, gtx 1050), but the 2 lane pci for the thunderbolt 3 connection and really low end graphics scare me a little. Also i looked into the razer blade (gtx 1060, 1080p), but battery life seems to be way too low... thanks guys! David -
Hey Guys! I wan't to upgrade my setup and get a fitting 21:9 monitor beside my 2 24 inch monitors. Resolution is not really important but I'd really like to see something under 500 bucks. Since I found nothing on amazon and other retailers (newegg etcetera). Maybe you guys can help me out? The monitor should be good for productivity such as editing videos and play games like GTAV or something like that ^^

First time posting but here is what I am looking for: -Core i7 Quad Core with HT -Bright and colorful display -Decent battery life -No need dedicated GPU since I game mostly on my desktop at home -Budget: $1500 I bought a AW 13 R3, everything was perfect except it was way too heavy and runs too hot! I am starting school soon and need a good tablet.I need windows 10 because the school provides full office. I don't mind small internal storage as I have a 2TB WD My Passport Ultra for all my documents and programs which is why I need a full-size USB port. it is going to be for school only so I don't need a crazy expensive computing beast, that is what my desktop is for. I would also like a keyboard but that's not completely mandatory

Hey guys, I am planning a new build and I am looking to get some feedback/help/guidance to know if I am in the right direction. I've decided to try with AMD Ryzen 1700 because it fits my budget, and the reviews I've seen so far are pretty great. I am also trying to stay under $2,000 total for the hardware as I still need to buy a desk, chair and other accessories. I will primarily be using this rig for Cinema 4D and Octane Render (GPU render) and plan to add more GPUs in the future. I think this MoBo takes up to 3 GPUs, right? Other software I will definitely be using is After Effects, Illustrator, Photoshop and Premiere. I am a motion graphics artist so you get the idea. I appreciate any help/guidance if you consider I should get something else for price/performance benefits please let me know.

Hello LTT community! I'm a 3D Animation & CGI student about to start his final year (if nothing goes wrong). The final year will involve the creation of a 30sec to 2min rendered movie (Using Renderman, Mental Ray or Unreal Engine 4, etc...) I'll be using programs such as Autodesk Maya, Blender and the Adobe product lineup (Mainly Photoshop, After Effects, Premiere Pro, Audition) Even though I have access to pretty powerful school 3D computers, I want to get a new build in order to work home at 3 am with a cup of coffee beside me... So tl;dr, I plan to build a 3D centric productivity desktop (gaming too since I still game, hue). Hello everyone, So my recent build is as follows: CPU: Ryzen 1700x Cooler: H100i v2 MB: MSI x370 Carbon Pro GPU: MSI RX 480 8GB Gaming X (x2) Main Storage: Samsung 960 Evo 500GB PSU: Corsair RMx 750 So, I just upgraded my build from an old FX 6350. So far, I absolutely love my new setup. It's faster and handles my work load very well. I built it for productivity and virtualization, with a dash of gaming whenever I find free time. Both of my RX 480's work independently. They will both work with no issues in applications and gaming. The issue is when I try to enable crossfire in AMD Radeon Settings. I can enable crossfire; however, none of my applications will open. Unigine Heaven and Valley will start to load, screen goes black, then the app "experiences an issue" with driver aticfx32.dll. The only way to open them with CF enabled is to run them in OpenGL setting instead of DX 11. None of my games will open at all. The screen goes black, but then they fail to actually run. I get an error report and they close. This happens with the majority of any visually demanding applications. I don't think it's a hardware issue, but also cannot find much online for assistance. Most CF guides are install drivers, install second GPU, and call it a day. I've tried having one GPU in, uninstalling all drivers, then reinstalling the drivers. Install second GPU, then select crossfire, with a system restart inbetween each step. I've also tried the same with both GPUs installed. I have verified both GPU's detected in Device Manager and Radeon Settings. Any suggestions (aside from "upgrade to a better GPU")? I'm borrowing from a friend who is waiting on MB RAM. So trying it out, or at least attempting to. Everything works fine with CF off in settings.

Looking for a mouse that's a mix of gaming and productivity. Something that's not too "gamery". Big with a good heavy weight, (nothing that feels like a toy) If it has LEDs I'd prefer rgb. I spotted a really nice mouse in one of Pauls hardware's setup tour videos and it looked really nice, but I can't figure out what it is. Anyway, I'd appreciate the help. Thanks.

I am in the market for a new CPU after noticing some bottle-necking for which I am now fairly certain my CPU is responsible. I currently am running a four year old i5-4670K (stock---guess who neglected to pay attention to the chipset version of the motherboard) [3.4GHz - 3.8GHz, 4c/4t] and a new GTX 1070 (Asus ROG Strix OC). I also have the S2417DG (Dell's 1440p 144Hz IPS Monitor), of which I hope to make full use. I use my PC primarily for gaming, but also use it to do research, which includes mostly low intensity tasks like Excel and a bunch of chrome tabs (~10-15 at any given time), with the highest intensity tasks being programs that visualize molecular simulation results in OpenGL. I also like to record (not stream) game footage so I can pick out highlights later. I play mostly low intensity games (LoL, CS:GO) but also occasionally play higher intensity games (DOOM, SW:BF, BF1, PUBG). I am wondering what CPU is best for me. I am tied to Intel because a relative works there through whom I can get significant discounts. Any processor with an MSRP below $500-600 is an acceptable option for me. I'm unsure if my usage warrants the use of a 6c/12t processor (like the i7-6850k or the rumored i9-7820X) and am also unsure what sorts of benefits 4c/8t has over 4c/4t. If not, something like the the i7-7700k (yes I'm aware of the temperature issues and Intel's poor response to their consumers) seems to handle games marginally better than the i7-6850K in the benchmarks I've seen. If anyone has any insight into whether a 4c/8t or 6c/12t would be better for my situation, I would love to hear your thoughts. Thanks for your time

So I am looking for a 24" monitor that works vertically. I already have the arm to allow me to do this and I only have a budget of about $100. I have a 24" monitor(Benq GL2460) at the moment that I use vertically, I just hate how if I look at it from certain angles I can't see the screen because of a weird polarization/blur/idk know the technical term for it but it looks very fuzzy. I am fine with 1080p and 60hz. Thanks in advance.

In Windows its boring but there so much facility like photo manipulation, vectoring, audio creation. word maker in Linux its impossible, gimp, inkscape is so hard to use. it look obsolete. i was trying to use virtualbox but the performance is so bad because i only use i3-5005u. so, how to make the use of Linux more productive? to do more than browsing n watching movie ??
