I have an XP-235 (Home Expression?) printer. I have just ran the software from Epson's website for this model, it ran and reported that everything, including the port, was set up properly. When I print the info/test page, the IP address setting says "None." I have checked Epson's support, and they have suggestions should the IP address be "0.0.0.0" or something random (not like 192.168.0.3 or something), but not if it just says "None." I am trying to set it up with Epson Connect, because Google Cloud Print requires my PC to be turned on for everyone else to use it. Either service requires the printer to be connected to the router itself (not via a PC), but I can't even get to the printer web setup because it requires an IP address to point to the set .html file.

I have a wireless Canon Pixma MG2950, in my routers control panel it's listed as UNKNOWN, I've been renaming every wireless device to something simple so I know who and whats connected, I can't however ifnd a way to rename the printer. It has no control panel on the printer, I can't seem to find anything on google relating to logging into it if possible, figured I'd ask here. EDIT: I know it's name is "UNKNOWN" because I disconnected every device by renaming the SSID, then reconnecting my device and the printer - as a result my pc and the printer were listed and UNKNOWN was it's name.

Hey guys. quick question. So, I have a printer that can only be networked via Ethernet and no way to connect it to the mother network via a cable. What I do have on the other hand, is an old router and a little bit of know how. Would it be possible to make a wireless AP (network B) to connect to the mother network (network A) and have that printer plug into network B and operate on network A. So as an example. if I'm on network A and I want to print a document, can I do that from network A, instead of connecting to the AP(network B) to print the document? Sorry if it doesn't really make any sense. Let me know if you have any questions! Thanks for the help if you guys have any advice

Hi everyone! I work in a larger enterprise IT environment. We have Win 10 pro on almost all machines. It keeps changing the default printer on many of the users. For me, it always changes it to this architectural plotter on our network. For my boss, it always defaults to AdobePDF. We have turned off the 'Let windows manage my default printer' in the windows setting. Matter of fact, we have disabled that for all users, through a registry edit GPO. The registry entry we changed is: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Windows\LegacyDefaultPrinterMode Any other ideas on what could be causing this? I have been looking into it for a while now, and seem to have exhausted the Internets knowledge. Thanks in advance!

Sorry if I posted this in the wrong subforum. So, our family's two printers are nearing the end of their life. One is an HP OfficeJet 6700 and the other is an HP LaserJet 3030. The 3030 is at least 12 years old and is finally starting to print badly. It has done us well though. The 6700 is about 3 years old. It was purchased for the purpose of colour printing. It has done alright, although it is not printing colour anymore for some reason. Basically, I am looking for a great new printer that can do the following well. Our family probably prints around 250-500 pages per month. Would like a printer that can handle this load and possibly more. I would like to be able to print colour, but will not be printing any pictures for the most part. Mostly just like coloured charts and stuff. Scan, faxing, copying, and printing functionality is a must. Must have a feeder to scan multiple documents. Needs to network well. We have many laptops, desktop computers, tablets, phones, etc throughout the house. Needs to be a laser colour printer. Lasers have done us well and are much more reliable. Good cartridges. By good I mean good price to printing performance. Also don't want to spend $400 a month on new cartridges. Keep the price around $500 for the printer. There is no real budget though at all, although don't want to spend $1000 on a printer that can do the same thing as a $500 one. Looking forward to reading your suggestion. Please don't just go on Amazon, type in "color laser printer" and then give me the top result. I could have done that myself.

Sorry in advance I didn't know if to put this post on the Peripheral section or Networking, may be I'm wrong. Hi all, I have a SAMSUNG multifunctional printer/scanner sitting on my desk but I want to make it available for anybody to print on it wirelessly in the office, since it's the only printer (small office). But there's a complication, the multifunctional has just a USB connection, how can I make it available WIFI for printing and at the same time keep it connected to my mac to keep using the scanner functionality? I could don't want to buy another printer, at least for now, since it's used by me and 3 other associates who come in time to time. As I already mentioned we use both Mac and PCs. Thank's

Hello, I want to know which is more worth it from an efficiency and stability standpoint: laser printer or an inkjet with an ink tank system? Which type of printer has a greater tendency to break down more often or which one has more maintenance issues? I plan to print lots of text files and pictures, not necessarily photos, its actually graphic novel quality pics (so cartoonish) and I'm expecting to print large volumes of prints. Thanks

Hey guys! I have some buddy's who have 3D printer, and they're actually pretty neat. The thing is, I really don't have a dire need for one, but I could see it coming in handy every once in a while. This got me asking the question: Which 3d printer is cheap but doesn't suck? We've all heard of those $99 versions, but we also know those are useless. I'm not afraid to solder/assemble if that means saving some cash, since I do a bunch of that anyways. Comment your suggestions below! Thanks in advance for all your help!

I've got a Samsung Laser printer, XpressC430W, that since the last firmware update no longer recognises third party toner. Fine, so I go and get regular Samsung toner. One arm and one leg later, the Samsung isn't recognised either. I dig around on waybackmachine and find the link to the older firmware and drivers, install them, no dice. Same problem. So I have a less than one year old printer that refuses to work even with its own toner cartridges. Does anyone have ANY idea something I can try by hacking into the printer and reflashing it to default or something before I have to basically chuck it and buy a new printer? Please help if you think you can! Thank you!

So my dad has recently gotten into digital photography after doing traditional for many years. He's great with a camera, but like many out there his age, he's not so tech-savvy. He's really driven toward the idea of printing his photos onto postcards lately, and he came to me for printer help. I know a bit about tech myself... but printers are always hard... it's like buying a car. Everyone has a different opinion. Anyway, he wants a printer that's simple enough to use, is good quality, can print on matte and glossy cardstock, has a scanner, and preferably one that can print double-sided (postcard style). His range is up to about $400. If anyone has any experience, tips, or just ideas, it would be SUPER helpful. Thanks very much!

Hey guys, somehow my Brother MFC 250C printer is not working anymore. When I plug it in I hear the windows sound like when I plug in a USB stick but when I want to print a file it does not show up in the printer list. I tried to install the drivers too but all I get is that it is not recognized in the list when I am in the install menu. Thank you in advance!

I have 2 computers connected to the same network, one wirelessly (laptop) and one hardwired (desktop). My laptop is connected directly to the printer on another room using a USB cable. I am trying to print from my desktop but cannot detect the laptop. Both are using Windows 10. Both connected to a private network (one ethernet, the other wifi ssid). Printer Sharing already enabled.

Hello there. a new forum member here. Avid watcher of LTT on his YT channel. Anyhow my issue is that my Canon printer won’t recognize my black original Canon cartridge at all. I’ve tried all troubleshooting steps I could find, like cleaning the nozzle, rubbing the contact points with a dry cloth etc. But it won’t just detect it. In the attached picture as you can see, there’s a warning symbol light right above the “B” icon. That light flashes 4 times in quick succession and repeats. After some digging I found out it means it’s not able to detect a cartridge or the cartridge isn’t installed properly. I read somewhere that it requires both color and black cartridges to be installed to work. Can anyone help out?

Hello, I wanted to connect my printer to my home network, so i bought a cheap Tenda S105 switch and an ethernet cable. It was only as I was trying to plug in the rj45 connector, that i found out that the network port on printer was an empty hole (lower end model). Now i want to adapt the ethernet cable to usb and connect it in that way to salvage my investment. Will this work? Any better ideas? Don't think i want to invest in a printer server though.

hey Guys, I am in a jam. can anyone help me out. the windows 8.1 drivers for Canon Image runner 2520 in the web are mostly not working. even the ones installing aren't getting printouts. It just beeps long and displays an error to load A4(R) paper. The issue happened when we upgraded the customer's system from win 7 to 8.1. The previously installed drivers were bought for Windows XP systems and doesn't seems to be supported in the 8.1 environment. does anyone have a fix or any drivers compatible? it is a pretty old printer but it works fantastic for bulk prints and scans so it is not expendable.

I need to buy a printer for myself. I have been using my cousin's. I know a good deal about pc but I don't know much about printers. I rarely print in colour like 12-15 times a month. I print documents a lot which are obviously in b&w. I can afford only one printer and i have around 7500 rupees ($100). I also have to scan documents in color. And cartridge or color should not be too expensive.

I setup this printer after not using it for a while. It did a print test and alignment just fine. I printed labels and they weren't fully printed, like it was running low on ink, and there was white lines throughout. After double checking the ink, I tried to print the labels again and it sent out a blank page. I did some troubleshooting, however, I've been unable to find or solve the problem. If anyone could help me figure this out, I would really appreciate it. It was just working fine. I would love to know what happened. I have more than half a cartridge of black ink, and only black ink, although I have the other cartridges in their spot I turned the printer off and on again. I reset the factory settings. I tried tried to print from the printer by using Align Printer and it still sends out only a blank page. I have reinstalled the drivers and ran all test provided by HP. I ran the printhead cleaner 3 times with 2nd level cleaning. I took the ink cartridge out and touched it with a paper towel to confirm it wasn't dry. I updated the firmware. I changed the preference to print grayscale.

I'm troubleshooting a printer/scanner (connected with WiFi) and a Windows 10 64bit HP laptop (WiFi). The issue is that when the laptop leave the network (house) and comes back the printer/scanner doesn't recognise (Australian Spelling) the computer, I fixed this by remove the printer/scanner from the computer then re added it and it worked fine, until it stopped again. I have noticed this only happens when the device leaves the network. If I left out anything you need please let me know.

Hey guys, I'm looking to upgrade my home printer from a $60 Canon from a couple years ago. I am getting a new job that i will likely need to use a (2 side scanner, 2 side color printer, wireless connectivity, and fax would be nice to have), however i am getting into photography as a hobby and i'm looking for something that will be able to produce good quality color prints. I've looked around the internet, but most of the printer reviews are really generic, and the specs for printers on manufacturer sites are also very generic, still acting like WiFi is a new feature. I guess i'm looking for recommendations for an all around great printer for business printing and high quality photo printing.

Hey fellas, I'm System Administrator at a BMW dealership in Pittsburgh, we just got new printers installed, they are all on the DC & yada yada yada, printers work fine, no issues, However when printing PDF's from Chrome and only Chrome the printers crash, we have about 5 of these printers on site here. The printers do not crash in EDGE, IE, or FireFox. Lexmark offers no help, the company we got the printers from who are supposed to maintain them offers no help, and I'm stuck with 5 printers that keep crashing with no fix, does anyone have any advice? I've already tried a lot but I'm open for ideas.
