Storage Configuration for Adobe Software
LeagueIsDeadd posted a topic in Programs, Apps and Websites
Hi guys. First of all, I'm kind of new to this forum thing and what I'm about to ask might have been answered before, so sorry in advance if I'm asking the same question again. So I enjoy casual video editing. I'm still in the learning phase, and recently my computer performance was very slow considering my pc specs are pretty good. Specs: Ryzen 5 2600X GTX 1060 6G 16GB 3000MHz Asus TUF B450-Pro I have had 3 Hard drives, 2TB, 1TB (both 7200RPM) and the 3rd one was 700gb (5400RPM). My boot up time was really slow, my software load up time was very slow etc and finally I got enough money for an SSD, so I went for a 500GB Kingston A2000 M.2 NVMe budget SSD. I'm happy the time it takes my pc to fully turn on and become usable has gone down from 4-5 minutes to 20 seconds.. (I'm not exaggerating). So now for my question. I know putting premier pro in the SSD helps load up the software pretty fast, and so naturally I have done that. But for the Cache files and Media Files, I am using my Hard drives. both the 7200RPM drives for cache and media files respectively. Now I still hear people saying its a good idea to put the Media files in the SSD as it will help load and process the video data faster. So my question is, should I put the media files in the same SSD that I have my OS and Software in? Will that hurt the performance in anyway instead of using the Software, media and cache for premier pro in all different physical drives? Help would really be appreciated. If I missed something, please tell me, I'll be sure to provide the necessary information. Thank you- 1 reply

Right so here is another "what laptop do I get" I have a fairly beefy pc that I use for video editing (premier pro) and gaming. Which is fine when Im at home but when I'm in the studio or on a train it would be good to have a portable device to continue my work (currently have a microsoft surface that I RDP into my home pc) Anyway my budget is £1500 here is my short list of devices that I have flipped back and forth between. All have negatives but then equally all have positives. Any help would be... helpful. And let me know if there are any other suggestions. I would prefer to be understated and less shouty can't always get what you want. Oh and apple is not an option. Does using a GTX1080 along with a Quadro K2200 make any difference in video editing and graphics creating with the Adobe Suite? The computer set up would a be i7-6850K, 64GB DDR4, Samsung 850 Pro. The rest is up in the air as for specific parts. My main question, is would using dual graphic help with any performance or just end up eating up some of the power bill and creating more heat?

HDR Monitors increase the amount of light (nits) and/or decrease the shadows. To prevent color banding, sometimes 8-bit color space has a lookout table or the monitor is 10-bit. So far this is my understanding and I am able to see the increased contrast and vibrant colors of HDR in Video and Games. But what about still images? I did some research and found here that some image formats - OpenEXR, Radiance (.HDR), DirectDraw Surface (.DDS), and JPEG XR - can display the increased contrast and wide color gamut in still images. Web browsers can display HDR video, but they don't seem to support these file formats nor take advantage of the increased nits & WCG in images that could potentially have this information, for example, a screenshot of an HDR video or game. What gives? Balubish Tech in this video shows that just by encoding a video in HDR, there is increased nits and shadows (contrast), even if the source was SDR. If he is right or wrong, I do not care, but it got me thinking that it is the image encoding/format what is needed to make HDR images. Even though it seems easy to achieve that encoding in Premiere Pro, it does not seem to be as straight forward or supported in Photoshop. Furthermore, wouldn't any 16-bit RAW photograph be enough to encode/display a wide color gamut? Then the only thing the image would need is the peak brightness. Why do we have HDR video and Games but no HDR still images? Cheers!

hi, i m going to build a pc for video editing in adobe premiere pro and doing little bit of after effect, gaming is not my priority and i will be not doing that(except for some time) i have narrow down some parts for my build but stuck with processor as a result motherboard and gpu is also not fixed(because i have a fix budget and according to that i have to manage thees parts) my build other than these three part is ram=====corsair 2400mhz 16x2==32gb storage==== a)segeate 1tb b) crusial bxm500 240gb psu==========vs550 in starting i m going with ryzen 5 2600 and 10606gb but after that i came to know that there is very much less requirement of gpu other than exporting(which in my case is not that much imp because i m wedding videographer and hence delay of 1 hr is ok for me but not much ) and also premier pro is optimised for intel cpu's. after that i again do some research and found these one with each cpu price i hooked up a gpu which does not break my budget i5 9400f is the cheapest processor and i7 8700k is the most expensive. here are the configration that i can do acccording to my budget i5 9400f + 1660 oc 6gb ryzen 5 2600 + 1060 gb i5 8600k + 1050 ti+ good cooler/ 1650 +normal cooler ryzen 2 2700 + 1050 ti i7 8700k + no gpu(no cash left). "i m getting motherboard of all these at the same price" also i m getting ryzen 7 1700 on price of ryzen 5 2600 and ryzen 5 1600 on price of i5 9400f please consider this also and help me out which is the best configuration for premier pro and also for future proof

So I have enabled cuda gpu acceleration in both programs, but when I render something I see on the task manager that ~90% of the cpu is being used, 95% ram and only <5% of my gpu. So I’m wondering why it isn’t using my gpu more than 5% ? is 1650 super good with the 3200g for 1080p/900p gaming and is 1650 super good enough for lite video editing (1080p 60fps) in premier pro 2015.5? i mean i was thinking to get the rx580 but the 1650 super came out and it's better for video editing in premier pro, but is it really an good gpu to use for light editing and does it have cuda cores for gpu acceleration in premier pro? and should i get the 2200G or 1300 instead and save some money ?? which will be a better option?

I’m basing my search off of Adobe’s recommended specs for editing 4k video: 32GB of DDR4 RAM SSD (1TB+) 7th gen Intel or AMD equivalent cpu (Intel preference, AMD is acceptable) Windows 10 4GB of GPU VRAM FHD display or better (IPS preference) I found a MSI GS75237 on the Microsoft store for 1899.00USD, but I’m not sure if this is a decent deal or not. I am willing to go a bit over budget if it is slightly over spec.

So my question of interest, I do some video editing and I have a fairly decent computer alien where 17.3 R5 with an Intel i7 8750 H CPU 16 gigs of RAM running Windows 10 my graphics card is the Nvidia GTX 1070, no matter what I do and what settings I adjust it's constantly using the graphics card based off of my Intel chip. Even after calling Adobe and having them remote desktop on my machine I was still showing that all processes were being utilized by the Intel chips graphics card that's integrated into my i7. I was literally told that Adobe understands that the GTX 1070 is known to have issues and they will eventually come out with an update that would fix this. I was wondering if anyone has run into or figured out a way around this issue other than just disabling the i7 graphics card. I figure this form would be the best place to ask a question such as this?

Advice Please. We are currently starting a project of translating all our installation videos for use world wide. The issue I have is we distribute via flash drive, as some of the mining sites, customers or installers don't have access to youtube or internet. We currently doing English, French, Spanish, Portuguese & Arabic, with sights on German and Dutch. Is there a way for me to have the multiple language audio tracks per video on a flash drive and be easily selectable for a user? Ideally if it selects via the region, this would be great. If we go with multiple videos, this pushes us from either a 8gig or 16gig flash drive to a 64gig flash drive. We dont always have the luxury of doing a language specific flash drive.

Last few weeks has been very frustrating for me. I have made a video editing workstation for my father and Adobe premier Pro is really frustrating for me, because it never uses 100% of the CPU or GPU. The LOW BUDGET Setup (full setup was like 500euros): Intel Xeon E5 2658 v3 MSI x99S gaming 7 16gb RAM 1050ti 4gb 240gb ssd 1TB hdd 650W corsair 80+ gold PSU old case for free Win 10 PRO Adobe CC 2017 I know that 1050ti and 16gb for editing is very very bad. But when he is exporting video in Premier he never the used RAM by premier never exceeds 3-4gb, the GPU load never exceeds 30% same goes almost all the time for the CPU. When loading the drive is used up to 100% but when exporting it is almost never used (max 10%). When he is exporting he is using the H.264 format. Most of the time he is exporting simple projects that have a lot of video footage (2-5hrs), only video correction, brightness, gamma, added music, picture in picture stuff, some basic transitions. So nothing very complicated. Things tried: setting high priority to Premier, setting available RAM to premier to 13gb out of the 16gb, trying to export from the ssd and HDD tried exporting with the Adobe media encoder with the same result Any ideas?

Hello everyone, I am looking for some advise on a PC build with a MAX budget of $850.00. The system will mainly be used to Edit 4k Video in Adobe Premier Pro Editing Software, but I do not plan to game on this computer . The current components that I do have is a keyboard, mouse, and one monitor (Not a 4k monitor). I would really appreciate any recommendations you all may have on this subject. The max budget is $850 is because of a recent recommended that I found for editing that I will attach to this topic, But if there are cheeper options for the same or better performance you may know about please advise. Thank you for taking the time, and I look forward to hear from you all. http://a.co/4pNJ8jN

hey i like to know for premiere and after effects what card should i get ?? GTX 960 or r9 380 ?? i saw in some forms saying that 380 is best, some one says 960 is best because of the cuda..... and i saw -1 point is 380 which says that some times amd drivers freaked out with premiere pro some times and report some crashes while its working some hours continuously. I have been using nvidea this far for my works with 0 errors. i saw some youtube videos about this but for gaming. thats why im asking you. both cost me same and both 4gb models.. so please help me to choose a one and a brand......

So I'm looking for some advice about my GPU. I was running 2 Asus HD7870s crossfired when I originally built this rig. As I've gotten more advanced with my editing it was getting bogged down. So I picked up a used Quadro 5000 as it was one of the highest supported GPUs for CS6. In editing so for there seems to be no noticeable difference and the GPU monitor shows no usage. I have yet to render a project out though as this card idles at 81* and shoots up from there with use. Since Asus AI suite is broken in Windows 10 I had to get a new fan controller which I'm putting in today to see if I can bring those temps down with adjustments to the case fans. My question is was I better off with the 2 HD 7870s as they are ~1000mhz and 2gb each of GDDR5 vs the Quadro which is ~500mhz and 2.5gb GDDR and the CUDA boosting. I am curently using a 3.5 ghz 6 core mac pro ( Trash can ) with Dual firepro D5000. My work drives are 4-4TB WD in raid 0( with nightly backups) and a 480 GB owc cache. I work for a church and we have a world wide TV Ministry. I export each program in up to 5 different formats so this is just too much on my Mac. Instead of paying 12k for the next best Mac I am considering building a PC. Intel Core i7-5930K Haswell-E 6-Core 3.5GHz ASUS X99-DELUXE/U3.1 LGA 2011-v3 Intel X99 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.1 ATX Intel Motherboard CORSAIR Dominator Platinum 32GB (4 x 8GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1866 Desktop Memory Model CMD32GX3M4A1866C10 CORSAIR RM Series RM850 850W ATX12V v2.31 and EPS 2.92 80 PLUS GOLD Certified Full Modular Active PFC Power Supply Cooler Master Cosmos II - Ultra Tower Computer Case with Metal Body and Hinged Side Panels The GPU is where I get stuck. Should I go TItan X or the new gtx 980 TI? I will be just moving my raid 0 and cache drive over. As far as OS I am considering 2 SSD in raid 0 or a pci SSD. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Hello LTT Forum Peoples, I really need to upgrade my trusty GTX 660 and I've been looking extensively at the Gigabyte GTX 970 G1 Gaming card as an upgrade; it fits perfectly into my budget (£200-£350), looks awesome, fits my colour scheme brilliantly and produces amazing results in games. First and foremost my build is an editing machine, although many would argue I could have built better for this purpose, and I wanted to make sure that the 970 would give me a significant improvement in my work-flow. I use Adobe Creative Suite CC (Premier Pro, After Effects, Photoshop) but I don't do any 3D modelling/animation work. I'm sure I would be better off buying a much more powerful card such as a Titan but I just can't afford it, although I am open to any recommendations for the red team if that would be better for me. Hi Guys, So I know this proably sounds really nooby but I'm currently running a GTX 660 and I wondered if SLI with another would decrease my adobe premier pro/ after affects encoding times. I didn't want to go out and buy another to discover it won't make a difference! Much love, Callum youtube.com/Ca11umH
