  1. Hi, I am not sure if this is where I am supposed to post this, if I am not supposed to post this here I apologize in advance. So, my pc was crashing after I accidentally installed ai suite 3 ( I did not know what it was after realizing what it does I immediately uninstalled it ) after that I started experiencing crashes and I tried to reset the bios manually by removing the cell in the motherboard. after a long chain of conversation with the company we found out something was wrong with the cpu ( i9-14900k ) they made me underclock the cpu by going to bios>AI tweaker>Performance core ratio and changing that to by core usage> and changing the values to 55, Doing this somehow fixed all my issues. I am just wondering is this a common issue with the i9-14900k and how does this affect me, will I not be able to get the full output of the cpu? Thank you in advance for any info you can give me. I apologize again just in case this is not the appropriate place to post this and ask questions.
  2. Hello peeps So I bought this pre-built model 400G4PDM/I77700/500HQ/4C/8f , A mouse and a keyboard included from HP this system has: - Intel® Core™ i7-7700 Processor - A western digital 500GB hard-disk - A 180 watt 80+bronze powersupply - 1x 8GB DDR4 2133 Mhz RAM - Intel® HD Graphics 630 that's for the that's for the options part, as for expansion: Ports Front: Universal audio jack with CTIA headset support 2 USB 3.1 Gen 1 1 SD 3 card reader (optional) Back: 1 audio out connector 1 DisplayPort™ 1 VGA 4 USB 2.0 2 USB 3.1 Gen 1 1 audio in connector 1 RJ-45 1 power connector Expansion slots Turbo Drive (M.2 PCIe) 1 M.2 2230 for wireless NIC PCI Express x16 (v3.0)(wired as a x4) 4.2", full height 6.6" length, 35 W max power PCI Express x16 (v3.0) 4.2" full height, 6.6" length, 75 W max power Upgrades: 1-SSD:(done) For this upgrade I went with the SAMSUNG 960 EVO M.2 250GB NVMe PCI-Express 3.0 x4 plugged it in the previously mentioned PCIE x16 that is (wired as a x4) through an Asus Hyper M.2 PCI-Express x4, and it is working properly as my system bootable, keeping the 500GB hard-disk for storage. 2-GPU With only my 1x (PCI Express x16 (v3.0) 4.2" full height, 6.6" length, 75 W max power) left for expansion, I am choosing to go with a passive cooling GeForce®GTX 1050 Ti KalmX with it's TDP at 75 watts being my built limit, although it is not available for sale right now, I will have to wait to be able to get a hold of one. 3-WiFi I want to add WiFi solution to my PC, just so I can have my computer ready for any kind of requirements although I will be running it via cable when working on it, and Bluetooth can get very handy. I didn't know what network card to choose exactly, just because I don't really have a lot of background knowledge about this matter. 4-RAM To be able to carry any kind of task that I will be putting on this computer I would want to match my stick with another 8 GB of DDR4 RAM to have a total of 16 GB memory running at 2133 Mhz enabling the dual channel bandwidth supposedly increasing performance and Graphics processing performance. Problems: 1-Enough power to run the GPU? With my low wattage powersupply I am really concerned if my PC can run a 1050 ti like the KalmX, and I have no idea how to know, and in-case it can't; is it possible to upgrade the PSU in pre-built PCs??? 2-I can't decide what WiFi adapter to get. I would love to hear reviews or insights about WiFi adapters. (I care about Bluetooth, WiFi range and ping) Cost: 1-HP ProDesk 400G4PDM/I77700/500HQ/4C/8f ------- 660$ 2-Samsung evo 960 250GB + Asus hyper m.2 ------- 180$ ....... These prices are for the marker here in Jordan. So prices may differ drastically. (am pretty sure you can get the ssd and the kit for cheaper than this price) And bro aren't these boot time fast
  3. Having the same experience this guy is having, but his problem was never resolved. PC Specs: Corsair Vengeance a4100 Gaming PC Motherboard (MB) - Asus Prime B450 Plus Current CPU - Ryzen 7 3700x What i'm trying to upgrade too - Ryzen 7 5800x3D (NOTE: When i do go through the whole process of updating the bios through USB, i get hit with "Selected file is Not a proper BIOS", yet i get the most recent BIOS from Asus's support page) I'm trying to get any help i can before i have to take it up to a PC place to have them do it for me. So any help is welcome willing to give it a shot. Thank you very much!
  4. Budget (including currency): $500 USD Country: United States Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Counter-Strike 2, Dark and Darker, Productivity in General Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): Existing PC that would like to be upgrade - HP Z220 SFF Workstation PC Specs: CPU: Intel Xeon E3 1225 v2 (4 cores, 4 threads) GPU: Integrated CPU graphics PSU: OEM HP PSU 240W Storage: 1 TB HDD (I know an SATA SSD is needed to improve PC performance) Memory: 2x4gb DDRM RAM (8gb RAM total) @ 1600 MHz (I know this should be upgraded to 16gb or 32gb total) Motherboard: HP MOTHERBOARD (655840-001) Would be playing on 60 Hz @ 1920x1080 Native for any game that is not CS2 (CS2 I play on 1280x96 4:3 60 Hz), already have a monitor to handle this case usage. No peripherals are needed. When am I going to buy? When the price is right for me. Hello, I am looking to upgrade my HP Z220 SFF Workstation to play CS2 + Darker and Darker at 60+ FPS. I have been doing some research and was wondering what is the best part for both CPU and GPU for this setup. I was wondering if I could put a low profile GTX 1070 or RX 580 as a GPU, I wasn't too sure if 4 cores 4 threads for my current CPU would be a bottle neck or would need an upgrade here. Ideallly I'm just looking to upgrade only CPU, GPU, and Memory. I do not want to move my components to a new case or motherboard or PSU.
  5. I have been looking to buy a prebuilt and a store near me has a Cyberpower Pc on sale with a 4070 12gb, Ryzen 7 7700, 1tb NVME ssd, 16gb ddr5(Single Stick), it costs 1600 Cad or about 1200 USD, is this a good deal and is Cyberpower a good and trustful Company for prebuilts? Also the Ryzen 7 7700 is using the stealth wraith cooler is that adequate. And the pc comes with a 1 yr warranty.
  6. Hello, I’m trying to decide on what is the better pre-built out of these two options and want to hear more opinions. I’m dead set on getting either a 3060ti or 3070 and these are the two best pre-builts I could find that had them. Option 1 has a smaller name as far as the GPU, through Maxsun and has a H610 motherboard which I heard isn’t the best for gaming but has a I5 13400f. Option 2 seems pretty good and comes from a reputable brand even though they’re not know for pre builds. It comes with a I5 12400f so a previous gen. Option 1 is only around $30 more and comes with a 3070 and a newer CPU but the motherboard being the H610 and a smaller name GPU is throwing me off. Please help!!! Option 1- https://www.newegg.com/p/3D5-002D-00077?item=9SIAZBDJRY0327 Option 2- https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B0BYT5Z53M?th=1&psc=1

  8. Hey there! I am kinda new in the pc-game and I'm now thinking about upgrading my Prebuilt PC... I bought my PC about a year ago and up until this point I was scared to upgrade it apart from some RAM... The PC is an HP Prebuilt using the erica 2 Motherboard and it came with a Ryzen 5 3400G without a dedicated GPU. I'm happy with the CPU but i thought about upgrading to a 1660 super or something (haven't done any research on that yet), but my proprietary 180W PSU is holding me back. There is a 500W PSU made by HP called the L05757-800, just from looking at the pictures it seems to fit, however in a spreadsheet made by an HP support-guy it isn't listed as compatible with the erica 2 MOBO. He said he didn't check if all configs worked but this is still enough for me to put off buying it since it is a 100€ unit here in Germany. I am pretty sure it will fit physically since they used the same case for nearly all their Prebuilts, but there is still a chance the connectors might not fit or it won't have the connectors I need for the GPU. I've read about similar cases in some forums but I want to be extra cautious. There isn't really that much information about either of these components so I am hoping some of you might know the answer or experienced something similar. It would also be nice if someone could explain to me wether that 500W is TDP, but that is less important since the entire system once finished will probably only need ~300W-350W. Thanks in advance for your help!
  9. Hello, I have been experiencing some issues with my Asus GA35DX lately it has Ryzen 7, X570, 64GB RAM, 1TB SSD + 3TB HDD, WiFi 6, 750W Gold PSU (Gpu is an Asus Tuf 3080) there is a white light and it sometimes does not want to turn on. I received this yesterday, the first issue was it did not turn on after I took it out of the box when I disconnected the USB dock I had purchased that had my keyboard and mouse connected it decided to turn on (I looked at my manual and saw that I had to plug it there and even checked other ports with the same problem) it was also posting a light that I searched up for asus motherboards that had an issue with the ram but I simply powered it down and waited a bit and never saw that light. I also updated my drivers and had the same problem with the white light. I have also been seeing that my gpus performance is terrible about 150 fps on the ground on Fortnite (on medium and epic settings same results). As well as my Microsoft store not letting me download apps and is stuck at "pending". Also, I have never had my gpu fans spin. LTT LTT (2) LTT 3 LTT 4
  10. I have a pc but basically every part needs upgrading- Ryzen 5 3400G, Asus Prime a320m-k 2x8Gb ram(idek what brand), 256gb ssd, 1tb hdd, 550w psu. I dont even have a graphics card and struggle to run most games on low settings with more than 30-40 fps.
  11. So i wanted to buy myself a gaming PC for the first time in my life. I live in Switzerland so all prices are converted from CHF to USD. My limit was around 1050$ and i found this prebuilt on a reputable site and wanted to know if it was good value and if it could run most games on decent settings at 1080p. I configured the PC on the site myself: Case: AeroCool Bolt CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 5600X, 6x 3.7GHz, 32MB L3-Cache Motherboard: Gigabyte B550 Aorus Elite AX V2 | AMD B550 GPU: AMD Radeon RX 6650 XT 8GB | Sapphire Pulse OC RAM: 16GB DDR4-3200 Corsair Vengeance LPX | 2x 8GB SSD: 1TB Western Digital Blue SN580 Power Supply: 650W - be quiet! 12. I've posted to this form before about high temps in FIFA23 and other intensive games. Since then, I have not found any solution other than simply not playing the games that cause these high temps (90-100c). Before I take my PC back since I am still under warranty, I just want to know if it's specific to my machine or just a common issue amongst this CPU. I just ran a 3dMark Time Spy benchmark so take from this what you will. I understand what components it could be, I would just like to know what other people (the relatively uninitiated) would do in this scenario. Thanks to anyone who can help!
  13. Hello folks, looking for recommendations on reputed pc builders in the toronto area. I dont mind paying a small premium for the convenience/time i will save because I don't have the time to spec out parts myself. Thanks!
  14. I tried to do a bios update from the website and it crashed and now won't boot I've tried taking the bios battery out and the jumper cables and still nothing, I dunno what else to do Please gimme some advice
  15. Hi everyone, I'm relatively inexperienced when it comes to PC gaming - I just made the switch to PC in 2020 after being a lifelong Mac user and console gamer. It's been a lot of fun, but my Alienware Aurora R11 - purchased because I knew I didn't have the wherewithal to build my own at the time - is starting to show its age and its limitations, especially when loading up a game or when trying to do multiple things at once, like playing a game on poor settings and watching a show on Peacock on my other screen (ADHD is super fun!). I recently decided to switch my gaming back over to a PS5 because the performance quality of my PC was becoming too much to handle and was starting to affect my ability to play in multiplayer games where reaction times and things like that are very important, and I was experiencing a much more consistent performance output from my PlayStation. I'm at a place where I can start looking to upgrade or replace things, or even just start fresh on a new system (maybe try building one? but eh), but I don't know where to begin to even assess what it is that I have at the moment to understand and learn why what is happening is happening, and why I would need to replace or upgrade something. What's affecting performance, what's OK for what it is, etc. I don't just want to be one of those "computer old, buy new" people, I want to learn, because I really enjoy gaming on my PC and having a lot more control over my experience. My question is this: what would be the best method to assess what I have and what my needs are for the games I play? For assessing what I have, a specific software or program recommendation would be helpful, if that's something I'd need. Again, I'm working with a pre-built system, so I'd be nervous about going in to try to upgrade anything in it, but I'm open to it if something simple would be a quality of life change for me. If it really is just time for me to say "pre-built bad," then so be it. I thought I'd come to the experts first! Any tips or help in general is super appreciated.
  16. Yeah pretty goofy how iBuyPower put 4 RGB fans in, got an RGB hub that needed 5v and ground from the psu, and soldered an extension cable to it. And I’m just now realizing that I could have just unplugged the extension cord from the old psu. Whoops! (and yes the fans all still work without it)
  17. alright, so i have that monitory i put on in the title and im having a problem with the crosshair. I cant seem to figure out how to change the size of the prebuilt, already built in crosshair. i've clicked every button on the display menu thing but nothing has changed the size or given me a option to do so. it just stays 4.5x4.5 in. please help.
  18. Upgrading the HP Pro 3500 I often see posts here on the forums where someone is asking if it is possible to upgrade their prebuilt desktop to make it capable of gaming. Most of the time, the answer is yes, and here I come with proof. I have upgraded a HP Pro 3500 with a fast affordable used GPU and a more powerful PSU. Prefer b-roll over written text? Watch my video here: Component Selection I chose the GTX 770 for the GPU as it’s a still a very capable card for 1080p gaming by today’s standard and it can be picked up quite inexpensively on the used market. The GTX 770 is based on the same fully unlocked 28nm GK104 Kepler chip as the one found in the GTX 680. The GK104 chip packs 1536 CUDA cores and a 230W TDP. The GTX 770 is available in both 2GB and 4GB variants both featuring 7GHz GDDR5 on a 256-bit bus. The MSI GTX 770 Gaming OC variant I have is overclocked out of the box by 5%, resulting in close to 3.4 TFLOPS of compute performance. The MSI GTX 770 Gaming OC barely fits in the HPs compact MATX case, so a smaller GPU would make the upgrade process ever so slightly smoother. For the PSU I chose the Cooler Master B600 for one reason, I already had one on my test bench. I would recommend going with a slightly better quality unit than the B600, so feel free to check out the PSU tier list by @STRMfrmXMN: When it comes to the stock specs of the machine, the HP Pro 3500 is more than adequate. Its Ivy Bridge quad core i5 3470 is no slouch and with 8GB of ddr3 ram you should (in theory) be able to watch a YouTube video and browse the LTT forums at the same time with no slowdowns. The 500GB mechanical drive is not the fastest thing in the world, but it is large enough to house a few games and you can always add a SSD later down the line. The board is nothing fancy, and lacks both USB3 and SATA6. This however is not much of as issue as it has three PCIE 1x slots for expiation cards that can add these features. Specs Intel Core i5 3470 @ 3.2GHz HP Pro 3500 Motherboard (H61) 8GB (2x4Gb) DDR3 1600MHz CL11 MSI nVidia GeForce GTX 770 Gaming OC Seagate Barracuda 7200.12 500GB Cooler Master B600 (600W) Upgrade Process and Benchmarks The upgrade process in video format can be found at 1:10 and benchmarks can be found at 4:28. A quick note on GPU temps Due to the compact nature of the HP case, the airflow situation for the GTX 770 was far from ideal. With the stock fan profile, the card ended up at 81c and 1084MHz on the core. This however was easily fixed by applying a more aggressive fan curve in MSI afterburner, resulting in GPU Boost kicking in although at the cost of a slightly louder system. Conclusion Overall, upgrading a prebuilt is defiantly something to consider for the gamer on a budget. You could go the used route like I did here and buy a last gen GPU and a more powerful PSU, or you could get a new card like the GTX 1050Ti which does not require auxiliary power, and skip the PSU part all together, making for an easier upgrade. As always, the choices are many with PC gaming, and this is just one of them
  19. I have a hp pavilion prebuilt and was looking to change the case but figured out my motherboard isn't any ATX or ITX format. 21. Hi, I was previously going to build my own, but my company is sponsoring a prebuilt so I am going with this. I have a couple questions: Is iBuyPower good? I think it was iBuyPower who did well in that LTT video, but is this a good place to get it? Is this a good config? Is there something I should update to get a better config? Price is less of an issue since the company is sponsoring, but I would like to keep it below 2900. Is the minor upgrades I made to get better thermal paste and RAM worth it? I have a monitor, keyboard and mouse, will I need any more accessories other than speakers, like something for bluetooth? 23. There is 3 options: 1. Ship fully built with no extras 2. Ship fully built with expanding packing foam (cost more) 3. Ship the GPU Seperate from the system slight reduction in cost. Is paying for faster shipping more or less likely to result in damage to the PC? Additionally is it worth paying for shipping protection through UPS Capital?
