https://www.amazon.com/Dell-Inspiron-Desktop-Processor-Graphics/dp/B07Q3G3B67/ref=sr_1_3?keywords=Dell+Inspiron+Gaming+PC+AMD+Ryzen&qid=1560729665&s=electronics&smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER&sr=1-3 CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 2700 8-core Processor at 4.1 GHz GPU: AMD Radeon RX 580 4GB GDDR5 Ram: 16 GB (2x8) DDR4 at 2400 MHz Storage: 1 TB HDD 7200 RPM Sata 6 GB/s OS: Windows 10 Power supply: 460 Watt Comes with a cheap keyboard and mouse (Dell MS116 Wired Mouse Black ; Dell KB216 Wired Keyboard English Black) I'm probably going to just replace the power supply for something that's 500+ Watt, but what I'm more focused on is the presence of Windows 10. I'm not tech-savvy or knowledgeable about desktops, but I get that you can generally build custom pc's for cheaper in comparison to pre-builts. But windows 10 cost $140 on its own, meaning the hardware here comes out to a cost of $460. Can you really price-match with a custom build if you also have to purchase windows 10?

Hi all, my sister lives in the UK and wants to buy a computer and monitor. I don't live in the UK so unfortunately I can't build a PC for her. She doesn't feel comfortable building it herself and lives in the countryside (far away from cities). I find the shops in the UK (Curry's, Argos, Amazon, etc.) to be quite limited in the products they sell. The products are also quite expensive and out-dated compared to stuff that's available in mainland Europe and in the US. Dell & HP seem like the only options at the moment, since she wants reasonable after-sales support and warranty and doesn't want outdated hardware. She likes Apple but doesn't want to pay over £700 for a desktop & monitor / AIO. She's going to be using the computer for browsing & light video editing and for data analysis (R & Python, though TensorFlow and such won't be required). Build: I've recommended a Ryzen 5 2600 (H, maybe) or an 8th gen i5, external GPU is optional, SSD, at least 8 GB of RAM. Monitor - VA/IPS, 21" or above, 1080p is fine. Response time & frame rate don't matter. High colour accuracy would be nice, but low cost is nicer. TLDR: Where can she get a decent recent pre-built desktop & monitor for a reasonable price in the UK with good warranty & support (longer = better).

Hello, this will be the first time that I will be posting on this website. I apologize in advance if I write things with incorrect terms or have misconceptions about certain products or practices. The purpose of my post is to decide whether to buy computer parts to build a desktop or to buy a pre-built desktop. I've ruled out laptops due to already having one and wanting to spend the money on a good system that can't be plucked out of a bag. Currently the conflict I'm having is surrounded by these categories: upgradability, cost, performance, and warranty. I understand that when considering both options that these have a major role to play in my decision. I know to a degree that I would like and intel build using a gtx gpu. the reason for this is that I understand Intel's products much better than AMD's. However if anyone can send me videos or links that will educate me on AMD I will gladly consider it. This may sound ambitious but I want a system that will be able to do 4k HDR graphics for movies, if it can do it for games then that will be a bonus. Also having the option to get into VR in the future is something that I would like but is not necessary. In all honesty even though I've spent 6 months of research in my spare time I'm still not sure what the requirements will be for the computer. In terms of upgradability I do wish to have this feature yet I fear that a majority of pre-built pcs warranty would be void if I replaced parts. Considering the price inflation for GPU's today it would be nice to buy a decent one soon and upgrade to a stellar one in the future. The cost is another thing that really concerns me. I currently make minimum wage (14$/h) in Ontario Canada. To give you an idea I make just under $2000 in a month at full time while going to school full time. $2000 Canadian is just under $1500 American, So to get an overkill system that is 4 grand in the US is about three months of straight earnings. So I'm looking to get my moneys worth. In terms of performance the most I will probably put it through currently is games like Shadow of the Tomb Raider, overhaul and 4k mods on Fallout 4 and Skyrim, Halo: Wars 2/Infinity/collection. The main reason I'm looking into the desktop is actually to play Halo Infinity and the Master Chief collection at better condition than the One X can perform. Basically I want to take advantage of the quality and colours that new triple A titles can dish out now. In terms of warranty my main concern is once again upgradability and more importantly overclocking. I know that overclocking reduces the estimated life of the hardware of a pc, and sometimes the warranty can become void due to that. Also whenever I watch videos on overclocking it sounds like I'm watching a video in a foreign language. In all honesty I'm utterly intimidated at the notion of overclocking without an experts supervision. I can be enticed to overclock my future system if my warranty will still cover it if I do overclock it. Water cooling also sounds awesome because it can be effective and silent, but the risk of damaging the hardware scares me greatly so I think I will stick to fans as a side note. I understand that there is approximately over twenty things that I asked in this post but any tips even on a single thing will be greatly appreciated. I understand that my knowledge is very limited and that may be frustrating to the experienced people on this website so I apologize for any annoyance I may have caused. Thank anyone who has read through this for listening to my issue and I wish you all a good day. TLDR; Beginner doesn't know what type or how to get a proper desktop and is asking for help.

pre-built Good Enough For A Minecraft Server?
The Ohio Hacker posted a topic in New Builds and Planning
Is this a decent build for about 3 small **less than five players at any point in time** vanilla Minecraft servers? Though all of them would be running constantly only one would be played on at a time. -
Anyone that has good recommendations for laptops? I'm planning to upgrade my laptop to a new one. Although I would be mainly using the new one for school work, I would like some power with it. Run some games with roughly 60 fps or if i limit straight 30 fps or better with lower settings. (I play FPS games mainly.) I would also use it for editing clips for Film Making class I'm taking. Using Premiere Pro with little to no lag, and lesser rendering times. (it took 1 hour to render a 5 min short film on my current one.) SSD for storage would be nice but HDD is fine. (More storage is good.) Touchscreen would be good, especially when the touchpad is really bad or glitchy. (If it has the tent or tablet mode, like the Yoga of Lenovo, it would be great but not that needed.) Around 6-8 hour battery life is kind of a must. (4-5 might be good but I would sacrifice performance to make it last a whole day. Which could be fine since there are alot of sockets to plug it in.) Bluetooth and Wifi is a given. Ethernet, USB-Type C is not needed. (I use Wifi for the most part and we don't have many products that use USB-Type C here.) Processor must have more than 2.00 GHz, which is most laptops now do have. (I had a i7-4510 on my old laptop and just running some few apps or just my desktop at times, it reaches it's maxed in the Task Manager / Performance Tab.) As much as possible it must be portable or at least I can carry it on 1 arm or two with a Lego Robot. (I am programming robots for our varsity.) The last thing that is a must, it must be available worldwide or for shipping. (I live in the Philippines. Sorry for those that are going to recommend stuff that has shipping in US or UK only.) (Also so that I have warrantee when it would break or something.) My possible budget would be around $1000 to $1500.

I'm looking into upgrading from a laptop to a gaming pc. I mostly play RPGs, but presently my laptop can only handle about 15-20 fps on the lowest settings of stuff like 7 Days to Die. Does anyone have suggestions for a good quality or brand of pre-built Gaming PCs? I'd like to keep the price reasonable (max budget about $1200) but still get a good quality pc to last for at least the next 5-8 years. I have a friend that I've helped clean his PC so that seems easy, but I'm not confident in building one. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

pre-built Pre-built system parts recyclable?
Betahuman posted a topic in Laptops and Pre-Built Systems
I once bought a pre-built PC designed to play games on it in 2016 (CPU: i5-4something, GTX745, 4GB DDR3, 120 or 140 GB Samsung SSD) and as time went on, I needed better stuff to play decent games on it. I bought and built a custom-made PC and now my old motherboard, CPU and RAM are lying around. As soon as I tried to fire them back on with the intention to install a new OS (Windows 10 intended), it started beeping and did not work. It had all of its previous parts (only the GTX745 and the original SSD were missing) built in. I couldn't even change the power supply, it would start beeping (even tho I used a better PSU) Here's the question: Is it still possible to somehow use them? Or is everything ready to be trashed? -
Hello, I am completely new to building pc's and was wondering if anyone could give me a hand and either show me some good pre-built pc's for $1500 CAD or help me build a good one on PCPartpicker. I'm mostly playing League of Legends, Rainbow Six, Destiny 2, Overwatch, Black Desert Online and a few other games . Any help is appreciated, Thank you.

Hello, I have an Acer Aspire X3475 that has been left unused for almost 3 years I think, the CMOS battery is most certainly dead and I have so far gotten rid of the thermal paste. Tomorrow I am going to buy thermal paste for the CPU and also a CMOS battery if I can find a CR2032. I have three questions, do I need an expensive thermal paste rubbing alcohol to clean the CPU or is it possible to use a dry cotton swab to clean it? The last question I have is, does it matter which way I put the CMOS battery in the socket? Ask anything that could be important related to this if I need to elaborate. (Sorry for the nasty insides.)

I'm becoming restricted by my Alienware pre-built and wish to upgrade, but I would like to continue using my GTX 1060, and not sell it. Price would be great to be $800 or less. My current CPU is an i7-4770 3.4Ghz, I would like to not downgrade from that, however I just want a bigger case. I tried transferring my current components to a new case, however with how the Alienware is built, the parts aren't compatible without the case it is currently in. Thank you in advance!

Hi, I have a prebuild HP system. It has a micro atx case. I'm not sure what the psu voltage is. it has 8 GB RAM, an i7 6700, and integrated graphics. case clearance is also an issue. I need a very small graphics card that has a small form factor PCI brackets. I do not plan to overclock or play highly demanding games. I just want to play minecraft and fortnite at around 70 - 100 FPS Please help me find a suitable graphics card.

Hey, I'm looking for a gaming PC but kinda lost in the market. So I found a PC on Amazon: ------------------------------------------------------------------ https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/aw/d/B008LZHBXU/ref=ox_sc_act_image_1?smid=ASDKXGZBT8NCZ&psc=1 ------------------------------------------------------------------ It has 3 monitors and somewhat good components for 450€. What I'm thinking is to upgrade CPU at first to 8350 and add SSD, maybe later upgrade other components too. My question is, is it worth buying for my 500€ limit, or should I invest in something else. And yes I do need monitors and everything. (Sorry for bad English, not native)

So I have a lenovo pre-built system that runs well enough for what I need it for. It's a model E73 thinkcentre other than in graphics. but what stops me putting my new mid-range GTX card in, is size. The card is a 2 fan card. The asus dual gtx 1060 3gb but the enclosure for the hard drives blocks the area I need to get to. Does anyone know how to remove this? or do I need to cut a hole in it to get the card in. thanks.

Hey guys! I'm looking at getting a new gaming desktop and I've been getting fairly discouraged with current prices. Im not looking for anything super top end as I'll mainly be playing things like Overwatch, Witcher 3, SC2, etc. 60fps would be lovely. I saw this desktop at Costco and was hoping to get sone opinions on specs and value. Let me know your opinions!! This is in Canadian Dollars.

Hello everyone, I'm in need of some advice regarding my GPU upgrade. I would like to know the best type of card I can use with my mini-computerIt's a pre-built HP with modest specs, and it's actually not a bad gaming PC, but I need it ready for VR (HTC Vive to be specific). Here's all the information...https://www.bestbuy.ca/en-ca/product/hp-pavilion-desktop-pc-intel-i7-7700-1tb-hdd-12gb-ram-nvidia-geforce-gtx-1050/11557159.aspx I've taken some pictures of the insides for everyone to look at... would I be able to fit a 1070 or 1080 ITX card with this small amount of space? There is very little room left as you can see lolThanks in advance for the assistance! https://drive.google.com/file/d/1soSos3tnsQhB5r_3pEC2IJalSubaO4Fo/view https://drive.google.com/file/d/1DBuBwI4BO1Fc3m3W-3u8LMQqVdfEVsFX/view https://drive.google.com/file/d/1DqdUEmEjFpLPsaHbRaYYpzK6G7cwRw_D/view https://drive.google.com/file/d/13Qea_9oBkXQdZVzaoBw9mkBVDaP6ZDE7/view https://drive.google.com/file/d/1WG-2VgweJEYxrht6OPBkqTfyXnqMxjfS/view

Hi everyone, this is my first post in the forum and I thought this was the most appropriate sub to ask this question in. My girlfriend is starting graduate school for architecture in a few months, and the computer she has now won't cut it for the work she needs done (it survived four years of undergraduate CAD work but struggled to do so, plus it's four years old...), so I was wondering what type of laptop she should procure (workstation vs. gaming). She'll need something that can run CAD software smoothly, like Rhyno, AutoCAD and similar programs as well as the entire Adobe Suite. Would a gaming laptop be good for this? Is there a big there a noticeable difference between Nvidia's gaming graphics cards and their workstation cards? The budget would probably around $2000-$2500. Please let me know any advice or recommendations. Thank you! P.S. She is commuting to school, so yes it must be a laptop.
