So i need to upgrade my PSU for a new GV-N660OC-2GD GTX 660 gpu and my budget is very low for a PSU and the number of options in our country is very limited. i can go with a PSU called IN WIN IP-S450CQ2-0 G 450W ATX Power Supply which has some good reviews but i want to make sure the gpu can run on this first. The image attached below shows the amount of amps it produce per rail.

Hi everyone, I built my first PC this year and it basically was a nightmare. Basically I was not able to boot due to ram issues. I had to take it to the shop and they told me they had to unlock the motherboard for the ram to be compatible. Its a bit complex since I'm currently studying abroad and this PC was built in my home country so far I have had two holidays to go back and play it. The most recent time I went back I found out that one of my ram is dead so I bought a replacement. Now I have to press the power button 2-3 times before it can successfully boot. I was on a windows 8.1 so I thought updating to 10 would help. It didn't. I enabled fast boot in the bios but no change. Seriously I spent almost 1200 US dollar and its not even one year yet is my PSU or motherboard damaged already? Im using a 3 plug adapter for my PSU since my country uses the two plug socket. Should I buy a new ram to since maybe one of the current ram is faulty? will that help. I tried booting up with only one ram and it seems to boot immediately. Originally the ram was a pair of 4gb Corsair Vengeance LPX DDR4, the replacement was the 8gb Hyperfury x DDR4. I tried swapping both rams to all the 4 modules didn't seem to do anything. One interesting though is I can't use the same colour module this means only a combination of black and grey works. Black and black or grey and grey doesnt work.CPU: Intel Core i5-6600K 3.5GHz Quad-Core Processor CPU Cooler: Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO 82.9 CFM Sleeve Bearing CPU Cooler Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-Z170-HD3P ATX LGA1151 Memory: Corsair Vengeance LPX 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR4-2400 MemoryStorage: Samsung 850 EVO-Series 250GB 2.5" Solid State Drive Storage: Western Digital Caviar Blue 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive Video Card: Sapphire Radeon R9 380 4GB Nitro Video Card Case: Corsair SPEC-02 ATX Mid Tower Case Power Supply: EVGA 750W 80+ Bronze Certified Semi-Modular ATX Power Supply Monitor: BenQ GL2460HM 24.0" 60Hz Monitor

Hey guys! I'm a youngster from Sweden and I plan on building a HTPC for my family, but i'm on a tight budget so I plan on reusing a old Intel pentium g2120, a MSI B75MA-P45, a 7850 1GB, and a random mechanical hdd. To save cash on the PSU/Case i found a Cheiftech case with a integrated 250W psu for 599 swedish moneys (67 $ ). Do you think that the psu will be enough, and if not. Will it be if i underclock the GPU since there wont be any games played on it, i just need a HDMI port for the TV. This may sound mindboggingly stupid to some, but the cpu is 55W and gpu 125W (or so i read somewhere...) and 1 HDD with 1 stick of 4GB Ram, it shouldnt be more than 250W but im a pleb so i ask you dudes Thanks in advance! I am needing an 8-pin ATX 12v connector but the PSU has only either a ATX 12v 4-pin or EPS 12v 8-pin. If I plug the EPS 12v 8-pin into the 8-pin ATX 12v power connector will it work?

Hi! So I was just gaming today and my computer just suddenly turned off without any warning messages or anything - like if the electricity was just cut. After that I tried turning it back on, but it didn't do anything. I tried disconnecting it from the power source, trying a different power socket and checked all the cables from the PSU (everything is where it should be, cables are connected tightly). When I press the power button the PLED1 light on the motherboard turns on with a red light, but apart from that nothing happens. (The lights for the VGA power connectors are on though the entire time). I think it's most likely a PSU issue, which is quite weird because the entire system (including the PSU) is about a month old... Any ideas to fix the problem? The motherboard is a ROG STRIX X99 Gaming and the power supply is a Cooler Master V850 (850W).

My computer randomly (I have not found a CLEAR pattern) crashed, and when I mean crashes, I do not mean BSOD. The crashes just make the screen turn black (like a hard shutdown by holding down the off button - no "shutting down" interface) and then my computer boots back up automatically.... There are no WhoCrashed logs - in my opinion indicating it is a power problem. That the computer just doesn't get enough power and shuts off perhaps and then for some reason turns back on? Maybe a PSU thing? It is not a RAM problem I tested the RAM and even had it RMA'ed by corsair - problem kept occuring. As stated above I believe it is a power supply issue, I don't know exactly what it is but I have an idea. I have not 'cleaned' my power supply at all. At least not on the inside and the PSU's internal fan is facing the floor. Perhaps it got dusty and I need to clean it. I clean my computer very primitively - just with a bottle of compressed air cleaning out the chassis fans and dusting off what looks dusty. I got these after updating my BIOS (I was quite behind on updates so I decided who not?), after another update a few days later I am now at the most recent BIOS and still crashes occur. It may or may not be a coincidence.I do not overclock (there is a weird setting on my motherboard related to overclocking that is set to auto (the default). I ran a temperature test, my computer does not go above ~45 Celsius, temperature is not a problem. I ran Intel diagnostic checker with a clear pass. I ran windows memory diagnostics with a pass.PC SPECS: http://pcpartpicker.com/list/cWp7RG I have school and I am trying my best to keep my grades up - I will try my best to stick around however I apologize if I do not respond very quickly.

Hello, i was thinking about buying a gtx 1060 6gb windforce oc my current spec Gigabyte H170 i5 6600 (non K) 2TB 7200 RPM 8g ram DDR4 Psu is RS-500-PCAR-I3 I'm asking if the power supply will cause any issues in the future thanks in advance -
Sup folks, I heard some chatter on the streets that Corsair PSUs are no good for high end systems, so will a Corsair RM750X suffice for the following system? Core i5 7600K GTX1070ti 16GB DDR4 1 7.2k HDD 1 SSD Hydro H110i v2 I know it should be plenty power-wise, I'm wondering whether it is reliable enough for a semi high-end system Cheers, TJ

So I bought a power supply. it said it comes with two 6+2 pci-e connectors for my graphics card but it has two 3+1 pci-e connectors. I'm buying a gtx 1060 6 gb sc edition gpu. can I put two of the 3 pin connectors into the gpu or do I have to buy a new psu or adapter? My friends said I don't have enough volts to give to the gpu but I don't know what to do.

Hello to everyone My friend is facing a problem regarding his Workstation PC ( HP Elite 8000 MID TOWER/Core2Quad ) Since he had no money to buy anything, He requested his relative to buy him a new graphics card which he did got from him, "MSI GTX 1050Ti GamingX". Now the problem he's facing is that his PC doesn't support the 6 Pin Power Connector which that GPU requires. As i told he can't afford any big upgrade to other machines, cpu e.t.c, He just wants the same alternate Workstation Core2Quad Tower which can support 6pin connectors and might having a bigger supply(Not important as the gpu requires 300 Watts). I whould be thankful if someone can look up Workstaion computers for these suggested requirements. Please don't give advices for changing GPU cuz he likes the MSI variant of the card and wants to play with it and Dont say on upgrading to higher Cases, motherboards or cpu as i have told that there is no budget. Waiting for your response Peace <3

Hi guys, currently I am using a game pc built last year, I am considering upgrade it because I get a new 4k tv and I want to game on it, single 1070 can't handle it very well (25-35 fps on 4k). So I am thinking about adding another 1070. The question is do I need to change my old power supply or the 550w is enough for it. I checked my specs with 2 GTX 1070 on https://outervision.com/power-supply-calculator, and the result is 514W. My specs: Core i5-6600k GTX 1070 Founders edition Asus z170 AR motherboard Kingston 8G 2400mhz DDR4 RAM*2 Samsung 512G ssd 1tb 7.2rpm wd blue hard drive NZXT HALE82V2 550W power supply

Hey people. I'm looking for some advice as I'm building a new pc and I am looking for a new power supply that is Atx modular power supply. The link to the parts I have selected is HERE! but I will be adding more Ram and maybe another GPU at a later date. So I need some wiggle room not just for that and but also because fudge factoring. It says 609 watts on Partpicker but I don't think that is fully right so if anyone could give me some advice here with some links to parts on part picker would be grateful thanks guys

(Computer specs at the bottom) So a few days ago, I put my computer into hibernate mode, then next day when I turned it on, the screen didn't display and the boot beep didn't activate. The monitor would turn on indicating that it is getting some kind of signal via the HDMI cable, but the screen still said "No signal" which if it didn't have a signal it would go back to sleep, but it didn't. I tried unplugging the power supply and back in to see if any results may happen, but same result. I open the side panel and checked if perhaps its my Computer case not communicating to the mother board properly, grabbed a screw driver and connected the two pins to power the PC, the computer turned on, the fans, GPU, and CPU fans were all active, but the same result happened. I thought, maybe the PSU wasn't connected well, it was just fine. Perhaps its the bios, so i reset the bios, didn't change. I even took out the battery and placed it pack in to the mother board to hopefully reset the motherboard, still no changes. Once again I tried turning it on, and I could hear a faint triple beep. According to Biostar's website, it means a problem with GPU, but the faint triple beeps weren't as loud as they should be, as I could barley hear it without turning off my light fan (which isn't even that loud) but I still took it as hope, popped out the GTX 1060 and placed in my old R7 360, same results. I'm starting to think at this point its the CPU. Do note I have had this computer for over 4 years, maybe even up to 6 but I do not recall. The only thing that has been replaced within that time span is a PSU, 2 GPUs, and some sata cables for some additional Storage devices. The rest remained the same (being the CPU, MOBO, RAM, Case) Computer Specs: AMD - FX-6350 3.9GHz 6-Core Processor Biostar - TA970 ATX AM3+ Motherboard Team - Vulcan 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1600 Memory Asus - GeForce GTX 1060 6GB 6GB Turbo Video Card NZXT - Guardian 921 RB ATX Mid Tower Case

Hey guys and gals, I'm in the final process of planning my new i7-8700k CoffeeLake build. Just was wondering what, if any, recommendations you all would have? I tend to get some good advice from you all (sometimes haha) and was just wondering what the general input is. I have already got on a waiting list for the CPU, and the motherboard and RAM was just ordered earlier today. I am actually mostly looking for any case suggestions (although any other suggestions are welcome). I would like to stay with a similar sized case but I plan on going SLI sometime next year and building a custom hard-line loop in it, so good radiator support is important while staying within a mATX mini-tower or mATX mid-tower. I already have one big system and would prefer to stay as compact as possible. Things like TG are important to me, rad support, and to an extent good air flow. I kinda ruled out the Phanteks Enthoo Evolv mATX TG for this reason as the top exhaust is almost completely enclosed and I think it would be a bit too restrictive for air flow. Even though it is my favourite looking it would not be good for water cooling. Also with the plan of going SLI, is 850w enough? I would imagine it would be fine as PCpartpicker says all the components draw 763w (in SLI), but I also know PSU's are most efficient at around 50% load. I'm not budget shy about going for a 1000w PSU if it is recommended. I would like to stay around the $4500cad budget I have right now, and I need a high-resolution ultrawide monitor to fit in the budget as well. Thanks in advance for any advice or suggestions! This is the second time it's has happened so I already know it's going to be impossible to simply never do it again. Sometimes I forget to also turn my EVGA G2 550W's rear switch off after shutting down my PC. It's orientation even after owning for several months isn't a clear sign when reaching back either. So as a result just now I once again switched it off, thinking that direction was on & then proceeded to tap my MasterCase Pro 3's front power button. For a split second I saw everything light up then go dark. In my opinion this means that it tried to power on with the residual power that was left in the PSU but then couldn't continue. Realizing what happened, AGAIN, I flipped the rear switch the other way & powered on normally. Nothing appears to be out of sorts yet but I have to ask, has this or could it after future occurrences permanently damage any of my components? P.S: Simply trying harder to remember doesn't work, if anything then I forget more often.
