A hot take. For the last week I have been using a PS4 Pro, I own an all digital One S as well, also I’ve had a base PS4 for approx. two years prior and a borrowed Xbox One X for a couple of months, before I got my own One S. I got the PS4 Pro to play some exclusives (Spider-Man and Ghosts of Tsushima) and I’m actually quite dissappointed. The difference in quality for the first party game is fairly minimal (on a 43 inch tv at least) and the work culture of the console is just attrocious, until very recently I was seriously considering getting a PS5, but after just a week of using the PS4 Pro I started to highly doubt whether the new consoles will hold long term. And the shop I got it from cleaned the console out for me, so I can only imagine what it was like before. The console is so loud, it’s almost unplayable on speakers on my normal sound level; living in a small appartment it’s completly unplayable when my SO is in the same room working without ANC headphones, and it’s completly unplayable in night, when one of us is trying to sleep. For playing first party games it’s not worth the hassle over base PS4 which is quiter and smaller (I had to rearrange my whole cabinet and cable setup, even though all the other consoles fit my space with reasonable breathing room). For playing third party games the One X is in the worst case scenario similar, while being, comparatively ofcourse, barely audible. And the cherry on top is that I didn’t check if PS4 plays 4k blu-ray, so now I have to either side-grade my One S to one with optical or upgrade to One X if I want to watch movies.

Hi. Im thinking of buying a Playstation 4, but im not too sure what to get. So I was just wondering if anyone could tell me the difference betweena PS4 (orginal) and a PS4 slim since they are the easiest to find and buy second hand. And how would they perform with games like Farcry 5, Cod, and those types of games?

So... i've recently looked at lots of options and watched a lot of content on MANY gaming platforms in my search for that holy grail... one platform to rule them all... so, if I was a hobbit, I'm looking for that ring of power! I can tell you, I haven't found it yet but with most of the developer big boys focusing on getting their games working on multiple platforms, it's only logical that the platform providers try to present the perfect platform and freedom of choice to the consumer. The closest I have got so far that presents that PC, console and cloud gaming "box of fun" in a single subscription service, is Game Pass Ultimate from Microsoft but that has it's limitations. Nvidia Games is a close second but I havent got this working on a console... yet... Linus did a comparison video of these platforms a while back but alot has changed, even since that video so has anyone else found that gaming nirvana that gives you the option of freedom of choice both on gaming platform and content/game providers offering cross platform games?

I couldn't find this issue from any of my googling but maybe someone else will have an idea. Unfortunately I did not record a video of it but I will try to next time it happens. I had left my PS5 on while it copied the Spider-Man Miles Morales data to the internal drive. I went outside to do a few chores and came in about an hour or so later and the console had put itself into rest mode. upon waking the console the menu was SUPER delayed and sluggish. Like the console really had to think about what it was doing. I had no internet connected to the console so it was not trying to do any updates, downloads, or installs at this point. \ Just trying to navigate from game icon to game icon from the time I pressed left or right (D-pad or L-Stick) it would take about a second or two until it actually moved. And then it would be stuck there for about 10-15 seconds before it could move to the next tile. You could mash the d pad all you wanted, and it would eventually register those inputs. But it would move one at a time with the same 10-15 second holdup between the two. This was happening in both the game and media tabs. Although if I pressed the PS button on the Dual-Sense controller. That menu was snappy and fully responsive. The same with the settings menu. I finally turned off the console by doing a full shutdown from inside the console itself and once it was fully powered down I restarted it and the console had worked fine since. Not really looking for a solution because it's working fine now but it was a very very curious thing.

Apparently people who have been scalping consoles online through sites like Ebay are apparently being robbed in Toronto, Canada and are recommended to sell their consoles face to face with the buyer and keep in close communication with somebody the know in case anything goes wrong. Quotes My thoughts I personally think this is hilariouse and I'm surprised its in Canada of all places. But hey maybe this might stop a few people from trying to scalp but atleast it shows you how passionate the community. Sources Gaming Bible Article 1 The Gamer Article 2 Toronto Police Tweet

---------------------------------------------- Summary Sony surprisingly released a teardown before release and news agencies could show off the PlayStation 5's internals Quotes My thoughts Really happy that there seems to be enough space and cooling for the PS5 to be cool enough, hopefully it is quieter than the predecessor. But that console is Huuuge. Also they removed that custom port AUX that was in the PS4. Will current vr hardware work? Sources https://youtu.be/CaAY-jAjm0w (in Japanese with subtitles)

So here we are again... Six or so months ago, I finished my first small form factor build; a gaming rig inside an Dreamcast shell. It was an...interesting learning curve, with non-standard components I wasn't used to using, and a LOT of dremel work. But obviously now I have to go bigger and better, and having done SFF, I've got to try something else I've not done....enter water cooling THE PLAN Of course, the case. We've got the classic...the one...the only...the FAT PS2. Roughly 3.8L in size. The last system was Intel based, so for that reason alone I'm going to make this an AMD build. The graphics card will hopefully be more powerful, I'm looking at a 1080, or a 2060S. Ram, 16Gb. That's an easy one. Storange size unknown, but it'll be M.2. Watercooling, obviously...I'd like the CPU and GPU both to be in the loop if at all feasible. As with the Dreamcast, from the front I want it to be as sleeper as possible. only the keen eye should be able to tell what's inside...

First of all I want to say that I'm sorry if this isn't the place to ask this. So I got a free Super Slim PS3 and since I have some free time, I made it my personal mission to try and fix it. I disassembled the whole thing, cleaned it as much as I could and replaced the HDD with one that worked. The problem is that the system is not working properly: when I turn it on, it immediately turns off. As far as I know, this is a common issue (the "yellow light of death" if the internet is to be believed), but I can't seem to find a solution. My cousin's owned the system and his solution was to wrap a bunch of rubber bands around the it and this seemed to work for a while (it might be similar to what's happening to this guy https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Tz-_RL1h-4U). Although I like to troubleshoot these kind of problems myself, I'm by no means a technician or anything like that. I'm wondering if there's anything I can do other than start to replace parts, take it to someone else (who, god forbid, know what they are doing) or throw it away. I have some free time and I'd love to sort this out myself, but there are so many ideas out there that I wouldn't even know where to start. Should I use thermal paste, should I re-ball, should I disassemble the PSU? I don't know, any ideas are more than welcome. Thanks, you guys rock! S

Hi, So i am planning to get a controller. So i have a couple of doubts Bluetooth scenario : I use a Orico Bluetooth Dongle for my desktop XBOX One Controller : 1) Do all of the controls work normally on PC without any fiddling around ( wirelessly ) 2) Does the 3.5mm headphone jack work just normally as a audio output Dualshock 4 : 1) Does the dualshock 4 work seamlessly (wireless) with the PC 2) If not, what do i need extra to connect dual shock 4 to the PC 3) Does the 3.5mm headphone jack and the trackpad and other controls work wireless with the suggested solution And what controller do you guys actually recommend for flight sim and racing games now and then ? ( Bearing in mind that currently dual shock 4 is 40% cheaper than XBOX Controller where i live )

New Xbox and Other Console Leaks (prices and release dates)
zeusthemoose posted a topic in Tech News
Summary A new Xbox has been spotted in the internal system of the retailer Target. It is called the Xbox One S 1 Tb V2 and will retail for $300. Nothing is known about it other than it is the 2nd version of the Xbox One S. Many are speculating this is the Series S that is expected to launch alongside the Series X. However, recent leaks (see below) make this seem to be a simple renaming or maybe small upgrade to the One S that is currently available. A tweet by Roberto Serrano was also published today detailing the prices and release dates of the upcoming consoles. Roberto is saying this is more than a speculation or rumor. According to the tweet, the Series S will be launching on November 5th for $400 and the Series X on the 6th from $500. He also says that both the PS5 and PS5 Digital will release on November 13th for $500 and $400 respectively. Quotes My thoughts This is very interesting. I think the Xbox One S V2 is simply a renaming to show which consoles were out before a certain date (in this case the launch of the new consoles). But I could see it coming with some changes although I cant figure out any that it would be. These prices for the new consoles are definitely better than I was expecting based on earlier rumors pricing them significantly higher. I also think the release dates are fairly plausible because that is right before the holiday season. For those who dont know, Target is a very large retailer in the US so it makes sense they would have an update to their system fairly quickly. My partner has an issue with one her PS4 controllers where the R1 button randomly triggers without being pressed. I've taken the controller apart and the contacts seem to be clean. I'm wondering if anyone here can suggest a fix for this as my google-fu has failed me and I am just finding guides for when buttons are getting stuck, whereas in this case the button is returning to normal position without issue but is then randomly activating without input. I've seen some mention of using WD40 to clean the contacts, but thought I best ask for advice first.

Hey all! So I have my old PS2 controller alongside a PC converter to make it playable on PC. It works fine for the most part, apart from the button designations that don't display the Playstation button symbols like "Square", "R1", "L1", "Start", etc., but it displays them as "Button 1", "Button 3", etc. Is there a way to change how they are displayed? I tried navigating the Devices & Printers in the Control Panel, but all I found was only the testing if all the buttons are working. Looking forward for some replies. Cheers!! P.S.: I don't have a PS3/ PS4/ XBox/ XBox One controllers because I've never had those consoles. I only have my PS2 from back in the day.

Well, the title pretty much says it all. As you would have guessed, I'd like to know how to play PS2 games on a PS3. (I'd prefer not to jailbreak unless it absolutely comes to it.) Even though I have done PLENTY of research into consoles & all that, I'll admit that I'm still confused about how you would be able to play physical PS2 games on a PS3. I have also done some web searches on the topic, but it seems like I'm getting some rather conflicting results... So, I figured the best way to find out is to simply ask & hope that someone with experience can help me out. If anyone needs anymore details or have questions for me about this, just drop me a line & I'll get back to you in a flash! Thanks in advance to anyone who can help!

Here's a screen capture from Sony's PlayStation twitch stream that happened at 4 PM ET today. The screenshot consists of the new PS5's Dual Sense Controller, Console (Left: PS5 with blue-ray reader, Right: Digital Console), headset, media remote, controller charger dock, and webcam thingy. Can't remember the name they gave it. That's all really, just providing the image here and now if you couldn't make the stream today. I kinda like the console's new look, it's an interesting one.

So I recently have come across a listing for a ps4 days of play slim console. The listing said that the console shows no signs of life when plugged in. I was on another forum that said it could either be the power supply, or the APU chip. The console is 80 dollars, do you guys think that it's just a PSU problem or something worse? And is the console even worth the 80 dollars?

Hey guys So after this pandemic, I'm gonna go to a college where it is too far from our home. So I'm gonna stay in a hostel. I can't just take my gaming Setup there as it will be a hard time to do that. So should i buy a gaming laptop or just use my ps4 pro connected to my laptop through elgato capture card. I'm planning to buy a laptop for my college works but i can't take a chunky gaming laptops but i needed one. I have a ps4 pro at home & a capture card. I could take them to the hostel & use my existing or a new laptop as a monitor to play with. As you know, i can't take my monitor to play games there. But is this the good idea?. I have a Lenovo laptop with Core i5 7th gen, 8gb ram, geforce 920m etc. Which is a pretty decent laptop for me as i have a gaming PC. But i wanted to buy a laptop for gaming but i too need portability. Whereas in ps4, i can leave it on my hostel room & take a compact laptop to the class. If u have a compact laptop that can game, please recommend me. I would mainly prefer Lenovo(as my uncle work for Lenovo & he'll give me one for free for education purposes) & apple(my brother work for them. So he could buy it for an affordable price). I like rest of the companies but they don't have their service centers in our locality(Acer, Gigabyte, etc. Idk about asus, hp & dell). We do have Lenovo & apple service centers. If i buy a macbook, i could use it as a monitor for my ps4 as i don't have to carry a monitor for that. If i buy any other gaming laptops which are compact, they can be used for both productivity, education & gaming. Or should i stick stick with my existing laptop with that ps4 & elgato setup. What are your opinions on using a laptop as a display for ps4 through an elgato capture card. Thank you so much

Hello everyone, For a while now I have been thinking about getting a either a monitor or a tv to upgrade my viewing experience. However, I am in a bit of a dilemma. There are a few criteria that I have in order to suit my needs, which in this case makes it very complicated for me to choose. Let me explain. I currently have my laptop (Lenovo ThinkPad P1 – 1080p display) and a secondary display (An old Dell Monitor – 1680x1050 display) as my setup, which I use mostly for University homework and watching online content. I also have a PS4 which I frequently exchange with my laptop in order to play games. Now there are two options (can’t have both): Option 1: I buy a 55” TV that I hang on my wall to which I attach my PS4, or watch Netflix. I can then game at a distance by sitting on my bed. This in turn means that I cannot use my laptop with it in order to do homework (because I do that at my desk, which would be too close for such a large tv) which is quite a bummer, so I have to keep using my old monitor for that. Option 2: I buy a new monitor to replace to old one and attach both my laptop and PS4 to it. Then I do not have a big display to watch Netflix on, but that’s okay because I can also do that on my new monitor then. This in itself is not a big problem. The problems lies in the specs I want. I am planning on buying the upcoming PS5, which support 4k HDR at 60 (or maybe even 120) Hz. Ideally I would like to buy a display that is able to project this kind of resolution, to get the most out of the PS5 experience. For a tv, this is not so much of a problem. However, if I would buy a monitor with this kind of resolution, my laptop would have a hard time driving it, because it only has a Nvidia Quadro P1000 (about as equivalent as a GTX 1050). I also want to consider 1440p at 60 Hz (or even 144 Hz), but since the PS4 Pro does not support 1440p (and apparently creates quite a hassle for those displays), I would expect that the PS5 won’t have it either. I have no clue what would be the best in order to get the best out of this situation. If you have any suggestions, please let me know. Budget would be a maximum of €500, which is about $550 US. Thanks in advance for your replies.

So I’m trying to figure out if my PS4 is dying and I need to replace it or if it’s overheating (along with other problems) and I just need to do some maintenance with it? the model number is CUH-1215A the list of problems is as followed: overheating in the middle cant read disks (one game so far) wont eject disc(s) (only had trouble with one game so far I am not trouble shooting with multiple games) it wouldn’t turn off, this was extremely weird I tried to turn he system off twice, first time it was to rest mode and it wouldn’t even go into rest mode I had to manually hold the button to shut it down completely, second time I shut it down from the controller and it took upwards of 2+ minutes to shut down, which is abnormal for it. i have dusted the system (without completely disassembling) in the past, I I updmgraded the dying HDD to a 750GB HDD (what I had available) I fear this is the end for my PS4 aside from light streaming and I’m wondering what other people’s thought are on it

So I decided I wanted to go back to my PS2 and play some older titles again during the quarantine period. I have one of the big boi PS2s, not a slim. Upon setting up my PS2, I had to do some dust removal, as its been a while since I've touched it. Most discs read without issue e.g. Gran Turismo 3, GTA San Andreas, Juiced, and other classic titles; however, my Gran Turismo 4 disc has issues. Although having minimal scratches, and being cleaned, the disc reads for about a second then stops. Is this an issue with the PS2 or with the disc? I would assume the PS2? Considering the disc is in really good condition. If anyone could help troubleshooting, or if someone knows the issue then a response would be very much appreciated. System Information: Console: SCPH-30003 R Browser: 1.20 CB Player: 1.20 PlayStation Driver: 1.10 DVD Player: 2.10E (This information may be useful for someone who knows more about the console than me, I don't really know).

This is my first post here, but am a long time viewer of LTT videos. That being said, I might be asking a dumb question here, but has anyone else experienced this issue? Everything about the application works except for when i actually launch a game. The controller connects, its starts to stream it, and as soon as the games intro sequences start before the title screen, everything just starts strobing, making it near impossible to play without risk of seizure or at least vomiting. I'm currently running an HP Ryzen 7 3700u with Vega graphics. Is there anyway to safely overclock the CPU or GPU to stop this from happening?
