  1. 1. Budget & Location Maximum budget: INR 1,500,000 (USD 23500) Location: Calcutta, India 2. Aim To make an extremely fast working/rendering machine that works with 3D animation, CGI, VFX and Video editing workflow while also being able to work with game engines like UE4 and play games. 3. Monitors 3x 1080p IPS/VA Monitors, 1x Professional 4K/UHD monitor, 1 graphic tablet (wont be always on) 4. Peripherals Nothing fancy here, just a backlit chiclet keyboard (chiclet keys are preferred as they minimize my typing error due to long fingers), a regular mouse and a wacom cintiq 13. 5. Why are you upgrading? Because my rig is getting old, a combination of 2013 consumer flagship devices, its already 4 years old. It's nowhere near slow but I would like to seriously gain some major speed in my work. 6. Suggestion I'd love suggestions and your opinion on how I can better spend my money or if I can save some as well.
  2. So im planning on building an almost whole new system with coffee lake and its hopefully sexy i7 with 6 cores. I would preferably like to buy all at once but im not the best to hold on to money in the long run (just a bad habit). I am curious on what people think i should do.
  3. Hello every one, i'v decided to do the case for my PC in wood i'v got lichy, jackfrut and others at home a lot of them but i don't have any case to create a model for it. Do you have any software for me to use in order to design the case ? I wan't to try something like the 750D airflow edition or 900D from corsair. where can i get free software for this and plans for the components and test if everythings fits inside the case ? Thanks in advance
  4. Hello, I want to build a new productivity/gaming PC for multipurpose use. Here are some specifications for what I want. Budget & Location 1000$ US currency Aim Video editing, 3D Cad, medium performance gaming, some rendering. Monitors I only plan on 1 1080p monitor for now but would like to have the option to add more later. Peripherals Keyboard (Mechanical prefered). Windows 10 standard, 1080p monitor, cheap speakers. Why am I upgrading? Would like more memory because I like to multitask with more than one program. CAD and other demanding programs run very slowly sometimes even though I have updated drivers and installed Java. Want to start music production and a youtube channel Preferred Case Something simple and clean. Maybe with a glass side panel too. Thankyou!
  5. Planning to build 1080-1440p gaming pc for £700-600, What's the best for this price?
  6. I'm building a rendering pc on a budget of 600$ and I'm going on used market. My build for now is 2 xeon x5650 with supermicro X8DTL-3F mobo 24gb of ddr3 1333 ram EVGA 80+ gold full modular 750wats power supply and I do not know what I should get to cool these cpus. And do I need a graphics card? I'm working with keyshot, autocad, solidworks.
  7. Hello pros! This is going to be my first build and I've done tons of research for weeks. The case I choose is Defign Mini C cuz it fits in a boarding suitcase and I need this portability; I don't play too much GPU demanding games and 1060 is insanely expensive right now so I guess 1050 Ti is currently enough for me; I really hope this system can be as quiet as possible so as you can see, I picked lots of Noctua stuff; Will this be a reasonable build? 8. looking to turn this build into a 3 monitor setup is there anything you would change or any possible problems, for example, having a 3fan 1080 https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/list/dZ9HPs
  9. I've been watching LTT for some time now, getting addicted to building my own PC so finally started planning on building my first PC. Even though it's my first build, I'm actually building it for my brother. So me and my brother were both in the U.S. Marines, when I would come back from deployment he would have to deploy like a month later so never got a chance to really game together after we joined. Now that he's out and I'm in the Reserves now, we actually live right next door to each other (I rent out one half of a duplex and he rents out the other). I remember back in the day playing computer games with my brother (Like 2moons and Cabal online days), and I've kind of missed it. So I decided to build a computer for my brother. We both live in California, USA. I had a budget of about 700$, been planning out the build for a little while and well today is his birthday so I'm going to end up buying it very soon (plus going to a little LAN party at my buddies house and hopefully now he can come too). The planned build: CPU - Intel i3 6100 GPU - Asus Strix GTX 1050ti MOBO - Asus Z170 Pro Gaming (full ATX) Cooler - Corsair H55 PSU - EVGA 450 Full Modular RAM - 8 gigs Crucial Balistix DDR4 2400 Storage - 1TB HDD Case - Corsair - Spec 2 (Red) Drive - LG UH12NS40 https://pcpartpicker.com/list/XXB9HN I would've loved to go all out on his build but sadly I couldn't, he couldn't afford to help pitch in for it and I couldn't go to much further then 700$ USD maybe 100$ more but that's about it. I just missed gaming with him and that's as far as I can go right now. Any help and feed back on the build, what should I look out for when doing my first build, any input on peripherals to get, any good guides on first time boot up that's very dummie proof?
  10. I'm basically planning a $1500 computer setup. Basically meaning it includes the monitor, keyboard, mouse, etc. Its is going to be built inside the Enthoo Mini XL, and will eventually be installing the Itx Ugrade Kit into it along with a Power Splitter. The build(s) I'm planning are Initial PC or gaming part and will be eventually installing the Server Upgrade, as I call it. The main questions I'm asking is, as do a lot of people, "Is it worth it?" The initial build Is going to be for gaming, as I said, so I DO want to overclock, is that even possible? And another question is, is the server expansion ill be installing into the same case going to be good enough to be able to host like a heavily modded Minecraft server, a Modded Ark: Survival Evolved, or some higherish end servers? Because as you can assume I'm planning to run the Game Servers on the server upgrade and play them on the Initial pc. Most comments, suggestions, recommendations, etc are appreciated.
  11. 1: Budget & Location I live in Houston, TX and would like to spend no more than $1500 USD for this build. If a new monitor could be included as described below, that would be awesome. I'm willing to expand on the budget as needed to include a good quality monitor that is likely to last as long as what I'm currently running. I can buy all the parts this week or wait as needed on some things like the new monitor if it seems better to do so. 2&3: The purpose of my build I want to be able to play games released within the last 2 years with high graphical settings (not necessarily ultra everything) on a monitor with a higher resolution than 1900x1080. My desktop currently runs two Asus vh236h monitors and I think I would like to replace them with a larger single monitor (32"?) with a higher resolution, better black levels, without compromising on input lag times. It's more important to me to have higher performance than very minute details, but I'm at the point where I can't even compromise image quality for performance anymore on my current setup. I'd like to not have to overclock unless it is a common practice on a particular processor and known to be stable. 4: Peripherals and reused components I'll need a monitor, motherboard, cpu, ram, gpu, and ssd. On the fence about a new case, which now that I think about it has more to do with whether or not the new graphics card will be longer than the 560ti that just barely squeezes in there now. Reusing my keyboard, optical drive, and OS. No need for wireless functionality. I have lots of extra spinning drive storage available in my current computer, but the only SSD is in the laptop and I'd like to keep it there. I have a nice mechanical keyboard and don't necessarily see a real need to replace my long-lived Deathadder mouse. I'm still using an even older Diamondback and Copperhead for work and travel after replacing worn-out switches since they are just so comfortable. Although the P180 case is still presentable and certainly usable, I'm missing interior parts like extra plastic drive rails. If there is a way to get replacement components from Antec on the cheap, I'll consider reusing the case, especially if there aren't really good options for a new case that delivers the same level of sound deadening that won't eat up a bunch of the budget. 5: Background on why I'm upgrading I've been more or less using the same setup for quite a few years now. My desktop is an E8500 running 4gb of DDR2 ram, 560ti, with spinning WD black storage. This has served me well ever since I originally had a 9800GX2 in there around 2009. It's housed in an Antec P180 case, with the original Antec Titan case now taking up space in the garage. In 2012, I purchased an Asus N56V on craigslist and installed an SSD as primary storage with the 7200rpm disc now sitting in the optical drive slot. This laptop performed admirably for me, and I was happy to see that MGSV played really well for me. Unfortunately, neither system can handle Witcher 3, which is the latest PC game I'd like to play. Thanks for your time and consideration, and I'll reply to any comments as quickly as possible.
  12. I am planning on building my first pc later this year and once that is done i would like to purchase cable mod cables soon after once i replentish my savings. my question is how do i know how long to make the cables/once i have my pc fully built how do i measure for new cables? thanks for any help.
  13. So I figured it's been a while since I got my first rig and I'm looking to do some major upgrading. Problem I'm having is what to upgrade to. I want to go X299, but all the dislike it's getting, idk. Might consider sticking with x99. I want advice please. I'm still leaning towards X299 even with the backlash. I know early adoption is a bad idea, but x99's upgrade path is pretty much done with now because of x299. But then there's Coffee Lake coming out in 2018... plus Nvidia's 11(or 20) series volta GPUs.... I would still like to upgrade my CPU though, even if people suggest wait for 11(20) series. Limits: CPU - Intel Only - X99 or X299 or suggest waiting for coffee lake GPU - Nvidia Only - 1080 TI only too please, though, feel free to suggest Titan XP if you want. If you do suggest Titan XP, please include water cooling supplies for it. Or you can suggest waiting for 11(20) series volta. NO HHD or SSD needed unless you suggest a completely new build, and even then it only needs to be 250 for a Win 10 install Purpose: I've never done OCing, but I plan on OCing any chip to at least 3.8, if not 4.0... maybe, still kind of deciding on that. 14. Trying to upgrade pc from OEM case and motherboard but can afford to buy all the pieces at once. Linus talks about "Future proof" items that generally stay from build to build, PSU, Case. Heatsink. I currently have a nice PSU, 650w Bronze ThermalTake Smart, but my case, mobo, and heatsink are all proprietary and crappy. Which budget case and heatsink would you say are more "future proof" than others, by that I mean they are not likely to become unusable and are compatible with most other parts on the market. I'm neither a size queen looking for micro mini builds or performance junkie, I just like clean, non-gamer aesthetic.
  15. Good evening community, I looking for a new computer for gaming and maybe a little bit for construction. My budget is round about 700 to 1000 euros. I would be very grateful, if you can help me to find the correct and best parts in this price area. I prefer the: AMD Ryzen 5 1600 with 6* 3,2 GHz and maybe a GTX 1060 6GB, which one is the best for the price? Or are there other comparable variants for less money? RAM of 16 GB Thank you for help!
  16. Looking to start/finish up a budget build. I want to know (since I am new to PC) how well this set up would work for ok video editing and minor gaming (Minecraft/ medium setting WAA titles) Starting with a Master Cooler Cosmos 1000 case (Will replace with a better looking one later) 1 Asus - STRIX B350-F GAMING ATX AM4 Motherboard 2 AMD Ryzen 5 1600 3.7GHz 3 GIGABYTE GTX 1050 Ti 4gb 4 power supply TBD 450-600W?? 5 WE 1tb Internal SATA Hard drive 6 8GB RAM TBD (Budget allowing better looking RAM) All running on WIN 10 64 bit. Questions, comments, and suggestions appreciated. I am looking for a max of 650-700 depending on how long it takes to get funds and updates on hardware depending on launch or sales of higher end equipment. What do you think? @Zando Bob @LoGiCalDrm ^thank you all who helped me decide to change up my strat!!!
  17. 1. Budget & Location In Canada, and the budget I want to hit is around $CAD 500, but I may go up to $CAD 700 to 600 I think to better accommodate more power and if I have no choice but to fork out some money, but if you guys can find a way to spend less money (such as going up to $400) the better! 2. Aim My aim for this build is to play current games (and potential future games) at the most highest settings, however I can also tolerate medium settings, or low settings or a mixture of different settings to play around with. But in general, I will try to aim for balance of quality and performance for the best bang for the buck, and will squeeze out what I can get. As for 3D editing and video editing things, I won't say that they are my top priority list right now, but a good hardware that can at least support those will be great! 3. Monitors As far I can have now is one, an 17" Acer AL716 monitor at a recommended screen resolution of 1280 × 1024. My house has two monitors, one at upstairs and downstairs, but the upstairs one is used sometimes by my parents to look at news and groceries, so I guess the Acer monitor is the one I will be using. In the question of if I want multiple monitors or not, as of now, I can only use the Acer monitor, and even if I have another monitor, I need to clean my desk again to accommodate for the extra monitor. So in short, for my plan for now only one monitor 4. Peripherals Maybe none, the Compaq keyboard that me and my cousin has from the old Windows 97 days I think still rocks adequately to this day, and my cousin uses it for gaming and working. As for mouse I don't think that I need one as of now, the Microsoft™ USB Intellimouse still works as fine, although the lack of more than 2 side buttons is irritating a little. Monitor...? I don't know man, although a internet person that is well known for his kindness in the Homestuck discord channel I was in at 12/04/2016 told me that should get a better monitor someday, and will give me some paypal money to spend on a new monitor, but as of now I have not a clue whether or not to get a new monitor. As for OS, I think Windows 10 will be great, my uncle has Windows 7 and 8 CD keys on his shelf, but I have no idea if he has a Windows 10 key or not. 5. Why are you upgrading? I need a new computer so I can able to play games at smooth frames without lag, I have two desktops computers which are relegated down to a Windows XP era, the desktop that I will be replacing is a Compaq Presario with a AMD Athlon XP 2200+ at 1.8 GHz. I do have a personal laptop: Toshiba C850 Satellite with a Intel i3-2328m with a Intel HD Graphics 3000. It can run some games well such as Call of Duty: World at War at the lowest everything (including resolution), and Gmod at default settings. However the fan seems to be in need of cleaning, as it spins fast then slows down, then speeds up for awhile; then slows down. etc. etc. Until it gets to the point that this message shows up: Warning: A problem with the cooling system has been detected. Please turn off the computer immediately, and return it for service. Then some games run at 45 to even to 60 fps. I've tried to clean the laptop myself, but the closest thing that i can able to do is getting the two joints of plastics separated, before my that ordered me to put it back in place. (Including kinda cracking some plastics when I tried to separate them.) So cleaning it is out of the question. And this laptop is falling behind other API's that current games are supporting, such as DX 11 and 12, and Vulcan, which means that it cannot able to run newer games because of the lack of support of my hardware, so these are the reasons why I am seeking for an upgrade. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- P.S. Which one should I have? A portable computer/laptop or a upgradable computer/laptop?
  18. (Resolved) Alright, so here's the deal with me. (Basics of what my query is) First off: I have never built a PC, but I do have experience with electronic components. Generally I am an intelligent guy regarding computers, I have experience with coding and standards of PC components. But regardless, I understand pretty much all of the basics/even some complex portions of PC building. I have done pretty extensive research on parts/brands I have so far included in this build so far. I've weighed in price to performance, sweet-spots, future proofing, and basically all things I personally can think of. Nothing I chose is merely out of brand loyalty. Here's the list of what I have chosen in a setup that will cost about 1000 USD. (My budget) Note that this includes the PC as well as peripherals. https://pcpartpicker.com/user/IonicNova/saved/hyKqsY Now that all fo this BS explanation is out of the way: I'm looking for suggestions for alterations in my choices. I know in NO way my decisions are perfect and that they have some flaws in them, as I generally do not have any experience with building computers. If there are any alterations that someone thinks should be changed, I'll be happy to converse about it. Thanks & Cheers
  19. Hey everyone, A couple of days ago i posted a topic about my future build. I got some advice and changed the cpu cooler. Now i'm curious what other builds are possible for the same price. my budget is around €900,-, located in the netherlands, so use the german pcpartpicker. don't need any peripherals/ os or GPU. i'm planning on mainly gaming and programming for school. I'll take my GPU from the pc i use now. it is an 750ti. planning to buy a 1070 later in 2017. Thanks for showing me some builds and maybe chage up my whole pc idea. theme is black and red, but open to other theme's as well. TL;DR. make a pc around €900,-, german pcpartpicker. no GPU, OS or peripherals
  20. So this is my first PC build and after researching and checking compatibility/looking for good parts this is what I have come up with. The purpose of this post is mainly to double check the build because I want to make sure I don't have a major issue with my build before I pay for it. Also, this is my first build after all so if you have any tips for the actual build process that would be appreciated Thanks in advance. NOTE: At the time of writing some of these items are on sale and they may go up and down in price. Price before rebates: 646.74 I do have a few questions about some things I am paranoid about getting right for my first build: A: Generally, does the build look good? Or is there some super amazing ultra cheap price-performance graphics card that would better serve me. Basically is there anything that I can or should upgrade for my benefit (preferably for less or the same amount of money) B: does the motherboard look good, is there a better one for the same price? What about compatibility? Yes, I have checked compatibility with everything but I am paranoid and confirmation never hurts. C: Does the power supply fit my needs, this is another thing I am paranoid about because bad power supplies can destroy your whole system. Does it deliver enough wattage, I have checked this myself and I believe it does but I want to make sure. Is corsair trustworthy (I have heard they are +amazon reviews look good but want to double check). D: Do I need the wifi adapter that I have or does the motherboard come with wifi, the reason it's included is because I think I need it. This is something I have looked up and been unable to find an answer to (I am on a budget so $8 is actually significant). Thanks in advance for any answers.
  21. Hey guys, I own a Brix Pro for 2.5 years and I love it, they are powerfull, compact, power efficient BUTTTTTTTT, this thing is noisy, like a jet turbine and thermal throttles like there's no tomorow, I get like only 30%-50% of the max CPU and GPU performance, thanks to this guy: We're talking about a centrifugal cpu fan (the only fan used in the brix), thousands of RPM, almost 60dB of noise, and as little as 15CFM of airflow... Sooooo, as I'm sick of it for like 6 months now (I was a bit patient - and had no money laying arround), I decided to design myself a acrylic case, and stuff a 80mm fan inside (as I live in Brazil and my options are limited, my best options seems to be the Akasa AK-FN069, which make less than half the noise, and more than double the CFM. The plans are bellow and I want to know if you guys have anything to add. Thanks. Btw, I want to fix the hole thing with external screws for a more industrial look, like this: case.cdr Ps.: Sorry for the bad english!
  22. Hey everyone, I'm planning to build a new pc, as most people are doing around here. I'm located in The Netherlands and going to buy all the parts from afuture.nl (cheapest site for pc components). I'm going to bring my GPU from my old build to my new one. (gtx 750ti, 1 year old). I dont need any peripherals/OS. My budget is around €900,-. I have 1 screen 1080 @75 Hz and planning to get another one in the future. My aim is daily useage and gaming. also a bit of coding and programming for my schoolprojects, that's why i have the 16GB of RAM. Also since I'm planning to go for more moniters and maybe a higher resolution, i opted for a 650w PSU so I can upgrade my GPU to a 1070. Upgrading to a new pc since all the pc's I had before were at least 8 years old and all given to me for free. the build I have in mind is this. (edited) Would like to not change the case. Theme is as most people black and red.
  23. Hey guys I am doing my first build ever. I have seen others build computers many times, and sell computers daily so i know a fair bit about them. I have gone to pcpartpicker and created a list which ill also write below. Please give me your thoughts/tips. Please note that I already bought the processor a little while back for a lot cheaper than retail and so it might be a bit overpowered/expensive but the build is based on that processor and I definitely did not spend anywhere close to its actual price. My budget is about $1500 CAD (+ tax lol). This rig will be used mostly for gaming, programming, and CAD tools. I want to be able to game in QHD at least. Oh and in case you didn't catch it, I'm in Canada Parts: CPU: Intel Core i7 6850K Bought Already (Not included in budget) CPU Cooler: Corsair H100i v2 Liquid CPU Cooler $125 Motherboard: Asus X99-A II ATX LGA2011-3 $310 Memory: Corsair Vengeance LPX 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR4-3000 Memory $120 Storage: Samsung 950 Pro 256GB SSD (OUT OF STOCK EVERYWHERE) $280 Video Card: Zotac GTX 1070 AMP! Extreme Edition $560 Case: Cooler Master MasterCase Pro 5 ATX Mid Tower Case $150 Power Supply: EVGA 750W G2 80+ Gold Certified Fully-Modular ATX Power Supply $136 Fans: Corsair SP120 x6 Mouse and Keyboard: Please recommend the best mechanical keyboard and a mouse thats cheap and great! (Total less than $150) https://ca.pcpartpicker.com/list/Q2W3NN Questions: How can I reduce the price of this build? Not including processor I want it to be about $1500 CAD. Currently its about $2000 CAD. Any parts that preform similar but cost less? Is my motherboard good? This is the cheapest well-rounded LGA2011-3 mobo that I could find. Anyone know if the Samsung 950 Pro SSD has been discontinued? Its out of stock in Canada wherever I can see it. Which iteration of the GTX 1070 is the best under $600CAD? So far, Ive found that the Zotac AMp! Extreme has the highest boost clock and VRAM speed. Anyone have this in their build? Is my PSU going to be perfect, overkill, or under-powered for this build? Is there a better cheaper one? Anyone have any good recommendations for nice LED case fans? Preferably something on the quieter side but not necessary. I do not have ethernet in my room and recently realized that MOBOs dont come with a wifi card built in. Should I invest in Powerline (House is about 8 yrs old) or a network card for wifi (I have good speeds)? Please recommend the best mechanical keyboard and a mouse that's cheap and great! (Total less than $150)

  25. Hello! My name is Govind Joshi, and I'm a 15 year old from Texas, USA. I was astonished by the desk PC build log, for it seemed like a very innovative idea! Therefore, I would like to recreate the project, with a few changes suited to my own needs. The 2 major changes are to the shape of the desk, and the lack of water cooling. I have attached the blueprints I created for this build, and I have just a few questions for you. How would I supply power to the fans on either side of the table? One thing to keep in mind is that I will be using the Silverstone Fan Hub. Secondly, is water cooling necessary for a custom build like this one? I am not going to overclock, and it'll just be an everyday use PC with gaming on the weekends. Also, I'm not familiar with using LED Strips; the only ones I found had to be plugged into the wall. I'm sure there are strips that plug into the motherboard itself, so do you have any recommendations? Lastly, Are there any big problems with my current plan? Feel free to point out anything you'd like! One final question I have, is that is it possible to get personal sponsorship from corporations for something like this? What is the process for applying for sponsorships? I know for a fact intel isn't gonna send me an i7 6950x, but I would like to at least try to approach these companies. I would be more than happy to "spread word" about the companies and their products, but the only people who will listen are maybe the 6 other tech nerds I know of from my school. Thank you for reading through this, and any reply will be greatly appreciated!
