Im helping a cousin of mine overseas to upgrade his PC and i could use some help regarding GPU reccomendations as his current build is quite old. Budget: MYR 500 (roughly a $USD 105 at time of post) Current Build: CPU: Intel Core i5 4440 GPU: GTX 1050 2GB RAM: 18GB ddr3 1333mhz (4GB-4GB-2GB-8GB) MOBO: Intel c226 motherboard Storage: 128ssd (most prolly upgrading it to 256) 500gb HDD Case: HP Z230 (will be changing soon) PSU: 450-500w Notes: He plans on upgrading to either 11th Gen intel i5/i7 or a Ryzen 5 1600 in the near future Im buying the GPU in Malaysia so it would be helpful if i get some reccomendations according to the specific market here. He plans on using it mostly for gaming I'm advising him to to go with AMD since his upgrade path on the AM4 platform would be more easier. Any help is much appreciated.

Budget: $2500 Disclaimer: English is not my first language. I'm a software engineer and video editor. I've been researching PC parts for the past few months, so I'm not 100% confident in my knowledge. So, I'm looking for the best CPU and GPU combo for this price. I'm looking at the 4080 to play RTX 1440p High Settings. The programs I'm building are CPU-intensive, so I went for a 14700k, which goes well with the 4080. I am also looking for fast Ram, so I picked up the G-Skill 7800 mhz CL36. I have picked up a good AIO, so I will be able to do some mild overclocking, but nothing over the top. I've been getting warnings that my RAM is not supported because the: "DDR5-7800 CL36 Memory operating voltage of 1.45 V exceeds the Intel Raptor Lake Refresh CPU recommended maximum of 1350 mv+5% (1417.5 mv). This memory module may run at a reduced clock rate to meet the 1350 mv voltage recommendation, or may require running at a voltage greater than the Intel recommended maximum." I also got a warning about my GPU being too big for the case, but I think it's fine. Are these warnings legit? Do you guys have any more recommendations for my part list? https://pcpartpicker.com/list/N8XNz6

Budget (including currency): 1000 USD can go over by max of 200 USD Country: USA Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Blender. AC7, DCS, Decently graphically intensive indie games, Minecraft, texturing software, and others. Other Details: Gonna be operating at 1440p 144hz, also deciding on a keychron mechanical keyboard with a seperate budget of max 110 USD, would like it at about 75% to 60%, or anything in the middle. What would be optimal between A, having a rig with a i5 13600k, and a 3060 8GB, with decent components, and 2 TB of storage, B, having a i5 12600k, cheaper components than A, having 1 TB of storage but having a 4070, or lasty, C, an i5 12600k, 360 8GB but having generally more expensive components and the same storage as A? Budget (including currency): 1500 USD (max) but hoping to stay around 1300 USD Country: US Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Overwatch 2, Baldurs Gate 3, Minecraft, Hoping to be able to play some triple A titles. Also used as a workstation for Solidworks, Autocad, Photoshop, some model rendering. Other details Build I'm looking at: PCPartPicker Part List: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/2jqyzf CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 7600 3.8 GHz 6-Core Processor ($229.00 @ Amazon) CPU Cooler: Deepcool AK400 66.47 CFM CPU Cooler ($34.99 @ Amazon) Motherboard: Gigabyte B650 AORUS ELITE AX ATX AM5 Motherboard ($229.99 @ Best Buy) Memory: G.Skill Flare X5 32 GB (2 x 16 GB) DDR5-6000 CL36 Memory ($136.00 @ Amazon) Storage: Kingston Fury Renegade 1 TB M.2-2280 PCIe 4.0 X4 NVME Solid State Drive ($99.99 @ Amazon) Video Card: XFX Speedster SWFT 309 Radeon RX 6700 XT 12 GB Video Card ($389.99 @ Amazon) Case: NZXT H510 Flow ATX Mid Tower Case (Currently out of stock but will wait for it to be in stock) Power Supply: Super Flower Leadex III Gold 750 W 80+ Gold Certified Fully Modular ATX Power Supply ($99.99 @ Newegg Sellers) Total: $1219.95 Have windows 10 OS taken care of. Aim: Planning a new build. Looking to game at 1080p well and 1440p decent (when I upgrade monitor). Manageable use of software, so I don't bang my head on the desk as I wait for things to load or render. I want this build to be able to be upgraded, as in a year or two, money won't be so tight. Also I am looking to overclock. Monitors: Currently have an Acer - Nitro XF273 Sbmiiprx 27" Full HD Monitor (HDMI), supports 1080p but will upgrade eventually. Not looking to have more than two monitors max in future. Peripherals: Peripherals are set for now, just basic cheap stuff that will manage for a little while. Why are you upgrading?: The current prebuilt I have is just too old to do anything, or to upgrade. I need something that can reasonably manage the work station software mentioned above, and hopefully run these games. Hoping to keep it cheap, but If I went overboard on anything or I need to get something better, I am open to suggestions. Won't need to be bought all at once. The build can wait reasonably a couple months. Consider me a Novice, any and all advice is helpful. Thanks in advance. -
Hi. I need help -- never built a PC before. I'm planning to buy a Lian Li Lancool 215 case for a new PC. It will house the Gigabyte B450M DS3H Motherboard I got from my friend's old PC. The case I'm eyeing for includes a fan hub where the included aRGB fans are connected. I looked at the case's manual, and from what I understood, one of the wires of the hub must be plugged in to the mobo's aRGB header, which (I think) would be a problem because the mobo only has an RGB header, not an aRGB one. I'm probably misunderstanding something. Please let me know what I should do.

Budget (including currency): ~400 euros Country: Greece Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: VR, 1080p High settings for all games Greetings! I need all the info I can from you, give me as many ideas and suggestions about what GPU to get! Here are my current specs: CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 2600 Six Core RAM: 2x8 (16GB RAM) Motherboard: B450 Aorus Pro GPU: RX480 4GB PSU: VS550 Everything so far feels great, RX480 is an AMAZING card that I managed to got for cheap back when it was famous. However I want to go to the next level by buying a new card, maybe RX 6600 or RTX 3060? Both seem to be on the same price, but I don't know about their comparison! Any other cards I should definitely check out? I am not into 4k gaming etc, I want my 1080p 60hz screen to play all games smoothly on high settings and later on I want to buy a VR headset. Furthermore, when commenting, please let me know if anything might "bottleneck" later on with that GPU (perhaps I should buy new PSU with more Watts after buying the new gpu?) Thank you and happy new year!

Budget: 750€ Country: Latvia I'm going to use this pc build for gaming only for games like Beam NG, COD, RDR2, War Thunder and GTAV. I'm hopping to play games at 1080p 60fps+ at max or high settings for most games. I am planning to get these parts in a span of 3 months, starting in 2023. I want to know if I can make this build any better for the price or maybe make it cheaper if it can. Thanks. https://pcpartpicker.com/list/ZdXgcb

Budget (including currency): 10000DKK (Budget does not include the RTX 3080) Country: Denmark Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Revit, Inventor, Streaming CPU intensive games Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): Already own a GTX 1070, I'll reuse it for my build and plan on upgrading to an RTX 3080 later when I have the money for it. Intending to run CPU based rhythm based games at 240Hz 1080p (already own the monitor) Here's what I have (Prebuilt from 2018, some things are unknown, like psu n motherboard) ASUS VG279QM 280Hz 1080p (i run it at 240 though, there's literally no point in going any higher since i can't run games on that high of a framerate anyways) Acer Predator XB271H A, 144Hz, 1080p i5 8400 GTX 1070 2x8GB DDR4 2666Mhz 1TB HDD Terrible CPU cooling =[ Here's what I plan on upgrading to (All links go to reputable Danish websites with Danish prices) ASUS VG279QM 280Hz 1080p Acer Predator XB271H A, 144Hz, 1080p 5000D Corsair ATX tower case i7 13700kf Noctua NH-D15 2TB Kingston SSD NV2 M.2 2280 PCIe 4.0 NVME [R3500/W2800] Cooler Master V Series V850 Gold - 850 watt PSU GTX 1070 (RTX 3080 at a later stage) 2x16GB DDR5 5600Mhz ASUS PRIME Z790-P Motherboard Thermal Grizzly Kryonaut Here's a few questions: Does my motherboard and CPU support ddr5 5600mhz ram? Does this look like a CPU heavy build? I'm looking for high single core performance, and don't really need a lot of cores, but rather less cores with more power. Is this a good pick with that in mind? Is the PSU good enough for an RTX 3080? Would that whole thing even fit in that case? Are the two fans that come with the case enough for now? When I get the RTX 3080, will I need to buy more fans? If yes, which should I get? Please tell me if these parts are compatible with each other, or if theres any tweaks you think I should make. I'm new to all this stuff and watched a few guides but posting here just to make sure that this all works out. Thanks so much in advance!!!!

Budget (including currency): $2000USD max (already own 3080ti) Country: USA Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Mostly gaming, but I'm a tinkerer so I occasionally do video editing, audio mastering, coding, a little bit of everything, but I want them FPS. Other details: Seeking advice from the community and/or LTT staff... I own a 3080 ti that's currently in my unraid machine being passed through to a VM... but shocker, I'm just tired of running a VM as my main machine, it's great in some aspects, but the little issues I'm constantly fighting has led to less gaming. I'm planning a build in the next few months, and I'm looking for advice on the CPU. I'm leaning towards a 5800x3d, but I'm really torn with the new CPU's that just dropped from red and blue. I'm running a 1440p Ultrawide at 120fps... I don't want to build in too much of a CPU bottleneck right out of the gate, but I also don't want to blow $2000 and have no upgrade path on the AM4... Sigh... I'm open to both intel and AMD. I'd like DDR5, but I don't like DDR5 pricing. TLDR: I own a 3080ti and want to build a great bang for the buck system that's not bottlenecked at the CPU. Thanks in advance.

Budget (including currency): $749.84 Country: United States Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Gaming Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): I haven't built a new pc in ten years and my ten year old computer is reaching it's limits such as RTX 3080s and beyond require 850 W PSU and modern motherboards are DDR4. I want to game in 1440p because I play games on a 2160 x 1440, 27 inch gaming monitor as my primary, I want to avoid bottlenecking, and some newer games such as Cyberpunk 2077, my ten year old gaming computer can run it as long as the game's graphics settings are set to low. I have attached a screenshot of old computer's components as well as the future planned computer's list of components.

I am upgrading my computer to a ryzen 7 5800x from a ryzen 7 3700x. I have already upgraded GPU to a ASUS TUF Gaming RTX 3090 OC from an ASUS ROG STRIX RTX 3070 OC. I am trying to keep the computer within my tempature tolerance of 10C to 50C Temps on every part. I am not sure how to keep the hardware within these tolerances. Here is an image of the current setup. I have yet to remove the RGB from the GPU. Requirements: No louder than 108 DB No more than 709 USD NO RGB No AC powered fans Must keep the CPU and GPU tempatures between 10C and 50C at max and idle load. Must keep GPU from Thermal cycling. (ie keep the GPU at same temperature as GPU idle via heating while computer is turned off). Must prevent thermal spikes.

Hi all, as title says, planning a new watercooled build. Currently have a 3800XT and a 3080 12GB (FTW3 Ultra to be overclocked) cooled by a single 30mm thick 360 rad. Definitely not buying another GPU for a while, may upgrade CPU in 6 months to a year. Planning to use the Hyte Y60 for this, with the following rad config: Side intake (60mm thick 240 rad or 45mm thick 280 rad) top exhaust (currently used 360 rad) rear 120mm intake/exhaust. My main question is to do with the side intake. Is it worth it to use a 60mm thick 240mm rad instead of the 45mm thick 280? Not sure if the extra thickness at this point would be worth the extra space. Would push & pull fans make the thicker rad more effective? Dealing with ambient temps around 25C max. Curious to hear thoughts on whether this kind of rad config would be enough for the GPU overclocked and PBO on the CPU. Thanks in advance!

I've followed Linus' personal rig for awhile now and have always been interested in running a thunderbolt connection to a different room, but never personally saw any use in it for me. However, now that I've got a 3080ti in my rig and I'm in my own office (instead of just in the middle of my living room) the heat in my room becomes so unbearable I have to keep the door open almost all the time. The noise isn't too nice either. So while driving home from a 14hr road trip I just wondered if I should take the plunge and do the same thing. Just throw my rig into a server chassis like the Silverstone RM42-502, grab a server rack of some sort, have the server rack in the living room and just run a thunderbolt connection to it. Problem is there's multiple things stopping me from taking the plunge: 1. My maximus x hero doesn't support thunderbolt, therefor I'd need to upgrade my cpu, ram, and motherboard (I've been waiting for awhile to do it, and I still don't think now is the time to do so. Plus I don't need the added cost of essentially an entire computer upgrade). 2. I run a triple monitor setup and finding a dock that supports my 2 1080p monitors and my 1440p monitor are a little tricky for me to find. -Plus I'm upgrading to the new G8 soon, so I want to make sure thunderbolt 4 can even handle 4k 240hz with my additional 1080p monitors. -I think I remember Linus saying it's just using display stream compression anyways, so it wouldn't matter. Not sure though. 3. I'm debating the possibility of just running optical DP, HDMI, and an optical USB 3.1 extender for a hub on my desk. -I'm not even sure if I need to run optical at all. It's less than 30ft, so I don't know if it's totally necessary anyways. I was just concerned about bandwidth/signal loss. Any guidance would be awesome. Thanks!

Budget (including currency): 1000€ (around this price) Country: Portugal I want to buy from this store in my country: PCDiga I found this one online: https://www.pcdiga.com/computador-desktop-pcdiga-gaming-gml-gi510lc2-powered-by-gigabyte My old PC broke and keeps shutting down from overheating, it's old and I need an upgrade anyway. I just want to know if the price is worth it for what I am getting and if the parts match or if there will be bottlenecking. Thanks in advance!

Budget (including currency): 50k INR at most. Country: India (INR) Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Web Development, Adobe Illustrator, Figma, NodeJS Server Development. (Win 11) Desired Display Output: 2x 1080p (secondary monitors) + 1x high refresh rate 1440p / 4k (primary monitor) I have all the peripherals minus a primary monitor. This is not included in the budget. Hi, super excited to build a web-development PC for office. Please advice the best bang-for-buck while keeping future-proofing in mind. Here's what I have been thinking: Opt. 1: 12100k with no dGPU Opt. 2: 3300x + GT1030 Opt. 3: 12100F + GT1030 Opt. 4: Ryzen 4650G > Please ignore these options if they don't make sense. Idk how will I connect 3 monitors without a dGPU. 16 GB RAM will be sufficient for now. DDR4 or DDR5? (I am not a monster, I open at most 5 tabs of chrome at a time) Suggestion for a motherboard & PSU? Case suggestions? For storage: Going with intel gives me the option to use Optane. I don't need much storage. I'll prefer speed over capacity. 2.5G LAN will be a nice to have. Not necessary at all. Will my workload benefit from more cores? Any full-stack developers? Thank you.

Hi guys. I'm moving countries and because of this I've decided to strip down my current build. Only shipping my RTX 2070 and memory, instead of shipping the whole PC. Should I keep my i7-8700 for another 1 to 2 years? Or should I upgrade to an AMD 5000 series. I'm also hoping to upgrade my GPU when prices go down in the next year or so. Any suggestions would be very much appreciated.

Budget (including currency): R11000 (ZAR) Country: South Africa Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Mid-range gaming and recording content as well as occasional streaming Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): I need everything from the case to whatever is in the case as well as a monitor, this is my first gaming pc so I'm not upgrading, I have my mouse and keyboard already, I know that I want an AMD Ryzen 5 CPU, I want a hybrid SSD/M.2 for speed and performance. Storage for HDD must be 1 Terabyte. As for graphics (NVIDIA or Radeon) I would like something that is worth its money, looking at my budget I need something that gives me great graphics but also is kept inside of my budget. And the case, as long as it holds everything properly with no spacing problems, and has a glass panel I'll take it. Everything that I left out is what I need help on, if someone can make a list for me meeting my requirements, giving me what I need to fill in the gaps in this article with the sites linked to buy it, as well as the pricing for each component and is heading under my budget I will highly appreciate it. Alternatively I would have just jumped on some sort of pc building site that gives me everything, but I want the community's opinion on what is truly the best to get. Please give me as many options as you can since I am quite a picky person.
