Hey guys, the main components in this problem are: Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO Asus Z170-P ATX LGA1151 Corsair SPEC-03 White ATX Mid Tower Case I only have 3 4-pin-connectors on the mainboard. The CPU-Fan is connected properly on the mainboard. The case has 3 fans, each of them has a 3-pin. Currently i can only use 2 of 3 case fans because the mainboard has only 2 connectors for case fans. The fan speed of all 3 fans are automatically controlled by the mainboard. My Question is: How can plug in the remaining case fan? I want it to be controlled by the mainboard. Can you recommend some products? Pls halp

Hey guys! I just got a lil' problem and friend told me to come on here. 2 years ago, I got this machine from ibuypower, as I was too lazy to build it. However, I came to change the graphics card today(MSi GTX970 Gaming) and upgrade it to a new one (MSI Gaming X 8G 1070). Installation went fine, as I had check for compatibility and power consumption... except for one detail. I need a 6-pin and a 8-pin and currently have two 6-pin conectors... My psu has no other connectors except for a 4 pin connector... I would love to know if changing my PSU is the only solution I have... I can,t put the 970 back in because I promised to sell it to a friend and would rather trash the whole system than go back on my word... Here is supplementary info conecerning the system itself: Mobo: AsRock 97 Anniversary Ram: 16GB CPU: i7-4790k I also joined some picture of the system(Including the psu for any who should need it) Thanks a bunch NetCancer PS: Time is not of the essence, as i have two-screen setup running on the lastest MSI Phantom. That means i can wait for new parts to arrive or people to find more extravagant solutions.

Hello Every time i insert a motherboard i always get stuck when trying to insert it into the io shield they are always in the way. I feel like I need a thorough explanation on how to insert a motherboard correctly so I dont have to spend like 5-10 minutes doing that. My computer won't turn on, I tried to use a faulty and risky PSU I got a new one BTW, and the computer's fans, power LEDs, beeps etc., and after I unplugged it, NOTHING worked, no front panel configs, removing RAM, and even replacing the power cord, never worked, help? Hi all. I bought a brand 'new' motherboard yesterday, and when I opened the box to check to see if all the pins were in alignment, one wasnt.. just my luck. I don't think it was too bad to begin with, but I've managed to push it back into place almost, I was wondering if people could tell me if this looks fine? I have an Kaby Lake I7, and I dont want to blow it up when I turn on my motherboard for the first time.

I want to add a second graphics card to my gaming rig (2 gamers, 1 CPU!). My Corsair HX650 PSU has two 8-pin PCI-E ports on it, but the first graphics card that I have (EVGA GeForce GTX 670) has two 6-pin ports and the second graphics card that I want (ASUS GeForce GTX 1080) has one 6-pin port. Is it safe to split one of my 8-pin PCI-E ports on my PSU into two 6-pin plugs for the first graphics card and directly use the second 8-pin port on my PSU for the 8-pin port on the second graphics card? I bought a nice braided USB-C cable, and I noticed that it has many more pins than the charging cable my Nexus 6P came with. Old cable: New cable: Does this equate to a difference in potential data transfer speeds and/or power delivery? What's the reason for this?

I picked up a Razer blade stealth 2016 off of Craigslist (not the smartest I know) and I noticed that a few of the m.2 socket pins are bent pretty severely. Due to this I have little to no options in repair. Does anyone know any options or methods of repair? That's for the read.

Just want to avoid damaging anything. I received my MSI Z270 Xpower Titanium board today. its quite the looker. The board has a 8+4pin CPU connector and a 6pin PCIe Connector. My power supply don't have anything specifically labeled for Pcie- just a GPU cable would match to it. I only have 1 GPU, do I need to use this? and I only have 2 cables with 4+4pins for CPU. is it ok to use both cables to fill them? -
I need a little advice here on what to do. Nicked three of the pins with my fingernail while removing CPU. The aforementioned fingernail has since been cut.

I had just built a new system and I forgot to order screws for my riser. So i let it sit in the case for about a week. I had just received the screws and I went back to my pc to shut it down. Well of course I had no video. So I opened the case and saw this! (Picture below)

I am about 95% done with my first ever PC build. I have an ASUS GTX 1080 STRIX plugged into my motherboard. It has an eight and a six pin female connector. Do I need to use both of these? My PSU came with 4 6+2 pins for the PCIE slots. Do I use one on the 8 pin and then use the second one and only use the 6 pins and not plug in the other two? In the box, they gave me a male 8 pin to two female 6 pin adapters. what do I do with this? My manual doesn't really say.

Hello LinusTechTippers, Second time builder, so here's the story. I wanted to apply Thermal Grizzly's Kryonaut paste on my 6700K instead of the standard AIO paste that comes with waterblocks. Since the Kryonaut paste is a bit "muddy" and tend to be drier than other pastes, some of it spilled over the IHS onto the clasp. So the perfectionist that I am sometimes removed the CPU without any hassle and tried carefully to clean it off, untill some of my microfiber cloth got stuck in some of the pins, I untucked it very slowly but after closer inspection I might be shi**ing my pants slightly. I will provide you pictures, and hope that my pins don't bend. In the worst case please help me, or let me know if I securely can place my CPU back in. Board used: ASUS Z170 Deluxe Fingers crossed.

HELP!!! So a while back I made a home entertainment pc and just recently it got very slow, to the point where it would just freeze. I didn't think anything of it but then it just stoped working, the fans spin up for the CPU and video card and the LED lights up in the front but no video output. So I decided to take it apart and check if one of the components are unplugged or damaged and I checked everything and they seem fine until I got to my CPU... the socket itself seems fine but the CPU has some of the pads burnt, I've used everything at stock speeds haven't overclocked and I've never had a problem with thermals.. what could have happened? So I referenced my manual and I know where to put the pins but I would like to know which side the power switch connectors go into, the negative and positive connectors. Because there's no positive or negative indicators on the manual like they are on the actual connectors. Power switch positive and negative not labeled here

Hi, so I have this problem, I am building a new pc , with X570 pro ASUS prime and 3700x Ryzen , psu is Be quiet 11 650w. for some reason when i connect just the 8 pins on the cpu slots Bios wont work , but when I extreme OC it , Bios boots. Any thoughts ?

My friend gave me his asus gtx780ti with a nxt cracken on it to replace my gtx 780. It's not a giant upgrade, but it's free. the only problem is that since the original fan shroud melted itself (no joke) the cracken water cooler is all I can use, but I don't have enough fan headers in my external GPU box to drive it (oh yeah, forgot to mention that I'm running all of this in my akitio node eGPU box for my spectre x360 laptop). Since the only fan header in the akitio node is a 2 pin header, and I'm now going to be asking it to run the radiator fan, the VRM fan, and the pump, I figured it would be better to figure out the fan pinouts on the motherboard and use those instead, if I can. The original cooler had two fans on it, so asking it to run the radiator and VRM fans shouldn't be too much, and then I can connect the pump to the 2pin gpu box header. So does anyone know the pinouts? I've tried google searching it but all I get is ads and links to places that sell graphics cards. Here's a picture to help

So I am trying to revive a ASUS ROG STRIX Z270H gaming motherboard. 3 pins were bent. I have been struggling to even have this thing to post. I purchased a BIOS speaker as im running out of ideas. non of the fans will run, it is an absolute dead nothingness from any LEDs other than the standby light next to my male fPannel pins and my rgb lighting. so the board is getting power, there is just no response from jumping it or using a switch. There is one thing im never able to get a straight answer from and that is, there doesnt appear to be a jumper on my CMOS pins. More ideas would be great

I have basic knowledge and I’m pretty sure this is the reason in my system everything turns on but it’s saying there’s no dp signal. I had to take it out to install a new fan on my rad and I took it out aggressively I think.

I recently received a motherboard that I ordered from Newegg. It is an Asus ROG Strix Z390-E. It came with bent socket pins and Newegg will not repair it or take it back. I have already ruled out returning it to Asus. How can I fix these pins, and are they even needed for my I9-9900K?

Hey guys! So I did my first own build 1.5 years ago, and had this Asus motherboard which had a LED strip that wasn't recognized by Aura, right from the beginning. I've tried absolutely everything, and nothing worked. I was too lazy until now, to RMA it as it had a 3 years warranty. Well, jokes on me, the official asus repair service denied repairing it, saying that it got physically damaged, and there are several bent pins on it, therefore my warranty is voided. What the heck? Motherboard was working fine for 1.5 years, no overheating, no issues at all, and now they won't even fix the led strip because of this. My question is, is it really possible, that when I inserted the CPU, or took it out, some of the socket pins got bent? I really can't believe it, since system was working fine, even on OC mode. When I installed the CPU I put it in some kind of frame, which was supposed to help me insert the CPU in the socket, and when I locked it down with the lever, it was kind of hard to push it down, but since I never installed a CPU before, I thought thats how it should be. However my new motherboard did not have that frame, and it was much easier to lock it down. The warranty guy from the shop called me saying that he didn't even see the bent pins at first, had to call his colleague to show him where is the issue. So yea...Guess I have to sell it like this. Asus never again...first broken monitor, now this.
