oneplus 9 how to turn off blurred screen when opening a message bubble. I can't find anything about how to stop it happening

Hey guys, I'm struggling to find a good replacement for my old Xiaomi Mi Max 3. I'm currently using a Xiaomi Mi 11 something or other, and while I like it, I miss the screen size of the old Mi Max 3. They have discontinued that series but I'm hoping to find a new phone that's similar in some ways: - Relatively cheap (under $800 AUD or so, I'm lenient) - Large screen - Higher refresh rate (90hz+) - Decent speakers would be nice, I don't use headphones in bed - Good battery life (Mi Max had 5500 mAh, so around there) - Something with a bit of a lifespan, I'll use it for at least 3 years - Android (I'm used to MiUI but any android will do, not a fan of iPhones) I don't care about the camera at all, and I won't do any gaming or heavy use whatsoever. I only use my phone to scroll instragram and watch shows in bed, and listen to music. Hopefully there are people out there who appreciate a good phablet and have some suggestions for me to check out. Thanks in advance for the help!

My iPhone 6S from 2015 got seven major versions of iOS from iOS 9 to iOS 15, and still, to this day 8 years later, regularly receives security updates from Apple. The same is true for my iPad Air 2. Which Android phones have great long-term software support? I’m asking about phones that has a great track record historically, so Google’s claims about 7 years of updates in the future doesn’t count since Mr. Pichai breaks promises more rapidly than cheeseburgers are consumed at McDonald’s.

I currently have a Samsung Galaxy A20, and I absolutely despise it, but due to circumstances beyond my control ive been forced to have a smartphone the last few years. But next year ill finally have the freedom to chose for myself so I have been looking for phones that actually suit the minimal amount of features I want. I have been looking at ones like the Nokia 110, but the 4G version, which is the only one that really has a hope of working in North America beyond a year, still for some reason has a Camera, Internet, GPS, and plenty of other things which I absolutely do not want. I had thought of just opening it up and ripping the hardware required for those functions out, but lack the requite tools and skill. Is there anything ive perhaps missed? and why aren't there truly basic phones available outside of Europe? Only if i had the money to buy a bunch of SDR's to setup my own 2G cell network, then i could just use one from 20 years ago.

Hello guys, I'm in the market for a new phone and I have a two phones in mind, the S21 FE 5G or the S20 FE, any thoughts which phone I should get? Thanks in advance.

Right now, I'm in the middle of choosing my new phone. I was going to buy Asus Zenfone 8, but then I noticed that this phone has less than a year of updates left. How important are software updates now? I know they were a pretty big deal before because Android had more changes between earlier versions, but how is it now? Are they that important? Should it impact my choice of a new phone?

I'm looking to replace my Xiaomi Mi A2 Lite, after some research these 2 (Redmi Note 10 Pro 128/6GB and Samsung A52 128/6GB) seem like the best choice for my budget. The price difference is around 50 euros (the A52 being more expensive) and both seem to be great phones overall, but each having it's pluses over the other. My pros and cons of the phones: Note 10 Pro: Pros: - Bigger battery (5020mah vs 4500mah) - Bigger camera sensor (108mpx vs 64mpx and better more realistic color tones than A52) - *Top placed 3.5mm jack (vs bottom) - Maybe the side/button fingerprint scanner (vs the under screen one, but A2 Lite has it on the rear so haven't used the other - one thing I got from tests is it unlocks faster than A52) - Dual SIM plus dedicated SD card slot (I use the SD card slot and having an open second SIM slot is nice, but not a deal breaker alone) - IR blaster - *Supposedly better display (both are Super AMOLED and besides 120hz on Note 10 Pro vs 90hz on A52 I've heard/read that Note 10 Pro's screen looks better and is also brighter (max 1200nits vs max 800nits on paper but also from real usage by the reviews)) - Slightly faster CPU? In comparison tests it doesn't seem to be any difference or slight at best - *Supposedly better quality and also louder speakers? - 33W fast charger - *Cheaper! Cons: - *Unstable MIUI? There's always some negative experiences for everything but I've noticed a lot of complaints on MIUI especially around 12.5 and 13 (I'm on Android One so I never used MIUI) - *Less update support on Xiaomi in general compared to Samsung, the Note 10 Pro being last years model it says on Xiaomi's site that it'll get updates until 2024. or about up to Android 13 and MIUI 14 - *No OIS - Slightly bigger than A52 (not a huge difference but still - not a deal breaker) A52: Pros: - *Better camera software and OIS (most tests show the A52 making just slightly better pictures and videos with better stabilized videos and photos especially noticeable in night photos and recording, only downside are cooler almost blue-ish tones compared to Note 10 Pro's more realistic tones) - *Cleaner and more stable OS? (No adds or other bloatware like MIUI, but I don't know how much or if it's even a problem on MIUI) - IP67 rating (vs IP53 on Note 10 Pro, probably not the most important but still nice) - *Longer update support (it says the A52 should get updates to Android 14 and a year of security updates after that) - Smaller than Note 10 Pro Cons: - *Smaller battery - Slower fingerprint sensor - *Bottom placed 3.5mm jack - No dedicated SD card slot (probably not a deal breaker now, but it's nice to have) - *More expensive - 25W charger (I also read that the 25W charger doesn't come with the A52, is that true?) What are your opinions or experience with either of these phones? And I decided to go with last year's models due to this year's models we downgraded (Note 11 Pro having heating problems, weaker CPU and no 4K recording on the stock camera app all with a higher price and the A53 reviews are negative on the CPU but they also removed the 3.5mm on it so that's a deal breaker) and the almost 3rd option would be the A52S 5G but it's another 50 euros up from A52 which is going quite far from my planned budget and I'm not sure if a faster CPU and 120hz is worth it (mobile gaming isn't relevant for me, anything I'd play makes no difference on any of these 3). Thanks in advance!

I'm prototyping a smart dashcam that uses a phone motherboard. Would thermal paste/adhesive or a thermal pad be better solution considering the inadequate mounting pressure. It'll only be in a 3d printed case that holds the heatsink to the logic board.

Hello everyone, I have been an iPhone user for years but I am considering switching to android to change things up. I have recently noticed that no Samsung phone I can find has a native visual voicemail built into the phone app with a transcription like my iPhone. I would seriously consider switching if I could have that. Am I just not seeing something? I'm not in the least bit interested in a janky 3rd party app.

So I ordered a screen for my google pixel 3a on ebay. The screen on the left is the "new" screen but there is a small piece missing (probably cut out). The screen on the right is the original screen I removed but with the small piece included. As you can see, I circled the piece with red circles on each screen. I don't know the purpose of this small piece but I assume it has to do with grounding due to the fact after I had connected the screen to my phone for testing, it worked with no issues. If anyone can help me understand the purpose of this small component, please let me know. Thank you.

Hi there, I have the Samsung galaxy A52 5G.. The only problem is it didn't come with a charger.. Is it bad for my battery to charge it with a Travel adapter from samsung itself? I've read online most modern phones (Locks voltage or lower it to safe the battery, when another charger is used from Samsung etc..) I have a 15w Adaptive fast charger laying around from my old Samsung galaxy A50.. is the Samsung Galaxy A50 5G, supported for fast adaptive charging with 15-25w? I hope somebody can help me out!

Looking for a mid-range [About under 400€/470USD/590CAD/350£] Android phone. Hello, After my current phone Samsung A71 has experienced water/alcohol damage within a couple of months it started to be more and more unusable. (Note: Warranty won't cover anything.) I've decided to start looking for a new device, before this one is completely unusable. Before this phone I had a Xiaomi Redmi 5 Plus + with the increasing sales of Xiaomi phones I started looking from there. The two Xiaomi phones that caught my eye are: Mi 11 Lite 5G Poco F3 After reading more into the phones, MIUI and remembering my own experience I am being turned off from purchasing a Xiaomi phone due to people experiencing bugs with MIUI. I do not want to install custom ROMs also. This is why I am asking for help to look for another alternative, gain more information and maybe reconsider listed or other Xiaomi phones. --- I plan to use the phone to watch YouTube, browse Reddit & the Internet and other apps. I don't do much gaming on the phone, besides occasional casual mobile games that shouldn't really require a lot. Having an amazing camera doesn't really mater, but it is still good to have a camera that would take good photos from time to time. Since I use the phone a lot it would be nice if it lasted the whole day. Furthermore I want the phone to be **reliable** and not complicated to use. Also if you are recommending a phone you use please share your positive and negative experience with it as well. Thank you! --- Region: EU, Lithuania.

Looking for a new phone around $200 (250 is my max). Trying to find something slightly better than my old phone (Redmi note 7). -Performance is priority as well as a headphone jack and microSD. -It would be nice to have 5g as well but that might be difficult at this price point. -I'm looking for general recommendations so please don't ask me for specific sites as I'm not even sure yet. (tho if you know of good deals feel free to tell me!) -I plan on buying it out right, not as a carrier deal. I've tried searching on my own for awhile after a failed attempt at getting recommendations earlier but geez is shopping for phones difficult nowadays.

Sadly I'm starting to outgrow my Redmi note 7 (space wise) so once again I'm turning to LTT forum for some recommendations. I'm mainly looking for a phone under or slightly above $200 that can preform better than my current phone and has a slightly better camera (along with more than 64 gb storage). It would also be nice to find one with 5G but I'm very aware that's unlikely at this price point for now. I've thought about maybe the Redmi note 10 but I'm really on the fence about it so it'd be nice to have some other options with experience behind them.

Hey!! I am looking to buy a budget smartphone that I can take with me for mountain biking. Here are my main requirements: 1. Good Battery Life 2. "Rugged Design" (shouldn't shatter the moment I drop it, but also doesn't need to be those CAT phones rugged level. Also not a huge fan of slapping a case on my phone) 3. Preferably stock android, but that's not a huge priority 4. Budget is about US $500 5. Internationally unlocked, as I have to travel quite a bit I was leaning towards a Pixel 4a, or something similar. What would you guys think??

Summary As seen in the source video, with a recent update samsung might have started it's path towards some sort of hardware pairing that could make repairs harder? This pairing makes it harder to replace screen with fingerprint sensor, if replacing the fingerprint sensor the fingerprint might not work at all. Some might be due to calibration of the sensor too. While this could be a bug and just a temporary patch to a safety concern. It could be a sign of going down the path of apple's restrictions to repair. My thoughts This could be a future downside to the fingerprint sensor as a whole and needs more work around the fingerprint tech? or about samsung themselves. If they are going to start locking down components and pairing them to not be used with other components that are not paired, but is the same product. Sources
