Hi, I am having some bad performance issues with rocket league. I am running on Windows 11 (Fully updated), all drivers are up to date (motherboard flashed to the latest BIOS). Specs: Wired Xbox One Controller i3 9100f 16Gb ddr4 3200mhz corsair lpx vengence RAM WD Blue SN550 1Tb Seagate Barracuda 1Tb XFX Rx 570 Corsair CX550M MSI B365M PRO-VH Intel stock CPU Cooler 2 fans (1 exhaust, 1 intake) 144hz monitor Some of the problems I'm facing are frame stuttering/skipping (on any fps cap, I also don't have a freesync compatible monitor). Menus are jumpy and not smooth (freeze for a second or two). When joining a game or on kickoffs, I will be on high ping for about 30 seconds. Randomly on any given day/time, I will experience input delay and a sluggish feeling (this is commonly dubbed the heavy car bug, but it isn't that.) The heavy car bug can be overcome by beating the placebo. For some weird reason restarting my pc helps the issue - but it will arise again (at a random time.) After I lag in game the performance drops drastically, my game doesn’t feel smooth with really bad input delay. I have tried turning off all display overlays (discord, game bar, Spotify, overlay, any others.) I have installed the epic games version - no luck there. If I run the game without discord, Spotify, bakkesmod, it runs okay, with fewer performance issues. But it's not that the CPU over throttles or high temps because I have manually troubleshooted all of this. This problem has been around for 8 months now, and it has got to the point where I have no motivation to play the game. I was pushing for SSL in 1s and 2s, but now there seems like there's no point. I am only going to be screwed over by performance issues. However, the part that puzzles me is that rocket league is the only game where I have ever had any problems. This ranges from Xbox days (ping issues) and currently on a pc that can and should run rocket league effortlessly. This is where I start to believe I am suffering from one of the worst placebos ever. Why is it only rocket league? Is it my Xbox controller, as that is the only thing that technically differentiates it from any other game? I am lost. For months I have tried to fix the issues. I am considering upgrading my computer but don't want to waste money pointlessly. My PC can perfectly run games like Fortnite, GTA, valornat, F1, Minecraft. It also seems like all of my friends with pre-builts can run their games without any issues. The more and more I search, I find that people who built their computers have similar issues to this. I could also list plenty of other problems I face with rocket league performance, but I genuinely have lost count. Someone, please help me. I am seriously considering cashing out £1000+ on upgrades or a sh\*tty pre-built.

well the title says it all i have bought a 3080ti and i only had problems with it till now the card sometimes draws around 400 watts when running a benchmark and sometimes only 200 watts this low wattage can sometimes be fixed by restarting windows but it doesn't work all the time i already reinstalled a clean windows version, the switch on the card is on P Mode and i have selected "prefer maximum performance" in nvidia settings the psu is completly new and has 1000w (i know a bit overkill) is this just an error i did and can fix or is something wrong with the card (the transistor noise is extremly loud when it will only draw around 200 watts on 100% gpu usage) sry for my bad english and thanks in advance

So i wanted to get forza horizon 5 , but I see it needs minimum win10 1909... i don't have that (i have 1803) and I also read they're serious about that, there's no known workaround to make it work with older versions. Ok, then I checked on my laptop (its too weak to run it, but i thought I'd check anyway) and that is on 1903... Now you'd think just update, right, but i can't, i already tried on desktop and laptop, it makes both basically unusable...on desktop it just feels sluggish, but also about halves my fps in games (tried several, even 1903 does that on my desktop) and on my laptop there goes nothing, sound stops working, explorer is slow as hell, games run at 1fps, i also completely loose full rgb monitor support, but that's the least of the problems I suppose... I'm just wondering (triggered by this weird fh5 requirement) what does winver 1903/09 different than say 1803??? There must be some big under the hood changes? Desktop specs in profile, laptop is i5 7200u 8gb ddr4 940mx 2tb hdd (and everything runs well on 1903, except the karman sound, which has been lost in an earlier update, the sw is installed, its just not working) So the 2 machines are completely different, but both have massive issues with winver 1909... Just curious, and a bit disappointed i can't play fh5 on either system... Edit: so the only things I'm seeing that seem important with 1909 are "virtual desktop" "sandbox" and "core optimization"...? doesn't really make sense any of this would have such an effect... yet something does.

My PC was underperforming and the reason why is not something I expected. tl;dr: (But I recommend reading everything anyway) Basically, my GPU was running on PCIe x2 speeds even though it was seated in an x16 slot and no other hardware limiting it. The only reason I discovered this was because I noticed this small detail in GPU-Z. I noticed that I wasn't getting the performance that I was used to. My PC has trouble performing like expected ever since I got it, but this time it was really noticeable. In Red Dead Redemption 2 where I usually get above 60 fps at all times and often in the 70s, I was struggling to reach 50. In Planet Coaster, at a reasonably small park where I used to get in the 80s now had trouble reaching even 30. This was the worst case. Generally every game felt more sluggish than I was used to. I tried so much like thinking my in-game setting were reset and trying to tinker with them again, reinstalling drivers and changing settings in Windows... I even did a clean install of Windows entirely and it didn't fix anything. It's this little line in GPU-Z that gave away the issue. While it detected that the card was slotted in an x16 slot, the card was running at x2 which is shown after the @ sign that in the case of this picture is back at x16 since I fixed it. It's possible that the card runs at x2 to save power when not under load but mine was constantly at x2 even under the most heavy loads I could put it in. I decided to reseat the GPU and while I was at it, try to clean out any dust with a PC duster. Sure enough in GPU-Z it stated that I was running at x16 speeds again and guess what.. All my games run perfectly fine again. Way smoother, way faster. Maybe even faster than before. What completely blows me away is how an issue like this can drastically worsen your performance, yet there is not a single sign that there is an underlying problem. I also never heard of this happening before. Only when using software or other means to see what speeds your PCIe slot is running at, would you stumble upon it. An average user would not discover this at all. With average I mean someone that doesn't really know that much about a computer. People on this sub would probably have a way higher chance of discovering this.

Are there any resources which list measurements and reviews of commonly available high performance storage devices? My computer's coming up on 6 years old and I'd like to plan some upgrades but I can't find a reliable aggregator of PCIe 3/4,0 storage device reviews / measurements. Without some kind of list, I've no idea how to start looking for a reliable, high performance storage drive NVMe is so plentiful these days!

Hey everyone, some time ago I notice my PC overperforming some days. Yes, it performs better some days than others in particular my GPU. I've been looking in forums for some reason for it to happen without success, no similar case. No updates or config changes between tests, just a restart. By the way, the performance changes upon restarting or putting my PC in a sleep state, that's all it takes. Specs: -Ryzen 7 5800X 4.65GHZ@1.235V -MSI B550 Tomahawk -2x8GB G.Skill Trident Z 3600MHz CL18 -Sapphire RX 6700 XT Nitro+ I tested my setup performance using FurMark (the first tool I used and got aware of this situation), NiceHash and Rise of the Tomb Rider. Radeon Software profile for NiceHash is 90% clock and 90% voltage The rest of the time I run my GPU at 100% clock speed and 96% voltage Expected Performance: FurMark Score: https://gpuscore.top/furmark/show.php?id=463848 Overperforming GPU: FurMark Score: https://gpuscore.top/furmark/show.php?id=463771 I ran both tests the same day, just a restart in between. I guess it happens 1 out of 5 system boots. Why is it happening?

I have noticed something very weird and I didn't find any explanation of why it happens, firstly the weird behavior is positive and it's as following: 1- Open explorer any folder and try to select multiple files by mouse you will find like the colored selection rectangle isn't smooth such as a game with low frames. 2- Download LDplayer which is android emulator and Turn it on. 3- Now try step 1 again, and baaaaam !!! dude I have 144hz monitor it's literally giving me the feeling of 144hz and everything became smooth. What is the explanation of this?! My Specs: intel i7 9700 and Nvidia GTX 1660 ti 16 GB RAM 256 SSD and 1 TB HDD

tl;dr: What is the best way to have a fresh windows install; build-in factory reset option or clean install with media creation tool? My PC always has had some weird software quirks but nothing too alarming. I recently upgraded to Windows 11 (I know... probably should have waited) and my gaming performance has dropped considerably. I do not have a Ryzen CPU but an i5-9500K (full specs below). When I try searching for performance differences between Windows 10 and 11 there shouldn't be too much difference, at least for me. I decided to wipe my system to remove any potential software issues. What is the safest and best way to do it? I'm thinking that a factory reset is less thorough than a clean install off of a USB stick. Specs: GPU: GIGABYTE GeForce RTX 2070 Super WINDFORCE OC 8G CPU: i5-9600k RAM: 16GB 2666 C-drive: Samsung 970 EVO plus, 250GB M.2 SSD Power Supply: GIGABYTE B700H Motherboard: AsRock Z390 Phantom Gaming 4 Case: Sharkoon VG6-W Red

So I've had my pc for about maybe 9 to 11 months, built it myself, and have been noticing frame drops on some games and where I've been able to see the most noticeable difference is Overwatch (ew I know). I run an rtx 2080 super 8gb vram, 16gb 3600mhz, ryzen 5 5600x, boot on m.2 ssd and extra sata ssd, and 1440p 144hz monitor. Now I'm able to run most of my games at max settings and I'm not too worried about running all my games at 144 fps, but when I play overwatch my settings are at max still at 1440p, display based fps and have never changed my settings and had no issues and I have an fps counter always on. Recently I've noticed that my frames are jumping all over the place from 154 (for some reason it goes that high on display based) to 70 to 100 and just keeps jumping up and down and very rarely has spasms of fps under 60. I've never seen any changes in other games because they don't have fps counters to see but I don't know my performance changed now even though my pc has had no issues before. Is there any explanation as to why my performance has gone down and ways to fix it?

Hi all of yous, hope you all have a great and healthy wellbeing. As the title stated, I just wanna share info about temperature issue regarding Zotac RTX 3060Ti GPU (Twin Edge OC model). I bought the card around 2021 August late, then after awhile I experience this rising in temperature real fast while playing heavy games like CP2077 and FFXV and also the fans are spinning too loud. Temperatures displayed at around 74-75 C while the hotspot temps at around 10 C above that (almost hit 90 C). After that, I looked at the power draw on OCCT, it stated around 200ish watt (WaW!!). After I do some research about it, there are also many who experienced the same. Most of them suggesting undervolting, etc. Some stated that is just fine as it is considering the particular GPU model which has not so "thicc-boy" heatsink and smaller fan size. Most of the people are using Afterburner to tweak the GPU but I don't know if most of us know that Zotac has it's own GPU tweaker called Firestorm. After some tweak here and there using Zotac's Firestorm, I able to achieve my desired fan curve which is not too loud and also achieved my desired temps but at the cost of FPS lost (which is fine by me coz I'm just a cozy gamer). Below is my settings using Firestorm, and also the result on Superposition benchmark. Hope this little info help for you who owned Zotac RTX 3060Ti Twin Edge OC LHR like me. Stay healthy and prosperous. Before temps: 75 C -- After temps: 70 C Before hotspot temps: 90 C -- After hotspot temps: 82 C Before watts: 200W -- After watts: 147W Average FPS lost: 10-15 FPS (Superposition benchmark)

Hello guys, I'm not much of a gamer but while I was playing BF2042 since it was beta, I noticed that the CPU has always +80% usage while GPU is ~10% max. here is a screenshot for you. https://imgur.com/0LN12Hy My integrated GPU works more than the actual GPU. I tried following some tutorials video and like this one:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_B8mFY-Ud0Y I set BF2042 with my GPU as preferred and did some other minor tweaks in the NVidia control panel but nothing seems to work. I have to say that my FPS are decent: ~60 FPS if not over. But the point is that the CPU goes over the recommended temperature and I'm quite worried in the long term performance. I tried disabling the integrated GPU in BIOS but I can't do that since there are no such options, so I did the most idiot thing... I tried disabling it by device manager but it doesn't seem to bother my GPU. Is it angry at something? Why is it always sulking like this? What have I done to you? oh dear GTX 1660 TI

Pure Power 11 600W CM US 80 Plus Gold OS: Windows 10 Home (21H1), 64-bit https://www.userbenchmark.com/UserRun/46804215 Problem: I recently built a new PC (2 months ago) and its been extremely frustrating trying to figure out what is wrong with it, it can't seem to handle games like Dayz (30-40fps when turning) Escape from Tarkov (20-40fps when turning) 7 Days to Die (40fps when turning) The I haven't tested many other games, albeit for War Thunder, which I can run perfectly with 4x super sampling (4K) and highest settings, all while maintaining 90-100 fps. My main issue is that when I am playing DayZ for example, I will get 180+ frames, then as I turn, it drops down to 40 for a good 5 seconds. This trend repeats in all the other games really (except for War Thunder, so far). While playing, I'll notice that the GPU utilization hovers at 30% and the CPU at 20-40% (even when turning and the frames drop, and with 32gb of RAM I'm starting to think that it isn't a hardware issue. Temperatures are relatively low too, as you can see in the SS. This has really frustrated me as I just upgraded from a laptop with a 1050ti mobile GPU, only to find myself getting lower frames in many situations. I have tried for a while to fix this, the solutions I have tried: Replacing the GPU Increasing the RAM Reinstalling graphics drivers via DDU Disabling HPET Optimizing game settings via NVIDIA Control Panel Changing Power Mode to High Performance I recently did a M-Flash Please if anyone could help me out, this has made my life hell and I just need to figure it out. Thank You

So I had ordered a Clevo X170kM-G laptop from Sager, it had a RTX 3080, i7-11700k, and 32GB of DDR4 3200mhz. I ended up having to get a refund on it, and I ultimately got the EON17-X which is OriginPC's version of the same laptop. Only difference is I got the i9-11900k, but when I run the Time Spy benchmark it gets a way lower score then the i7-11700k. I can't seem to explain why this is... My i9 seems to have all cores functioning, and they all go up to their boost clock speeds as advertised. The score difference is strange. On the i7 version the overall score is 12,774 and the CPU score is 12,253. The i9 version from OriginPC is getting and overall score of 12,190 with a CPU score of 9,813 ... I am not sure why ... Is there some kind of common Nvidia setting or BIOS setting that triggers this? Both laptop even have the exact same BIOS, and the GPU scores are about equivalent with Sager's version only being marginally higher. Another strange issue, I am not sure if its related or not, but the Control Center 3.0 app for this machine seems to cause it to crash with clocking problems. I am not even sure why, overclocking is disabled in the BIOS but the app makes the entire laptop fail. However, without the app, and overclocking enabled, it crashes after a few seconds. It seems like even minor tweaks to the CPU clocks causes crashing. Edit: Interesting detail, my Sager's RAM was (16,384 MB Crucial Technology DDR4 @ 3,192 MHz) but Origin's is (16,384 MB Kingston DDR4 @ 2,926 MHz) The Kingston sticks are rated for 3200mhz ...

Hello everyone, My PC (the one from my signature) is getting 5 years old but is still enough to play CS:GO and League of Legends. Sometimes while I'm playing those games I feel some screen stuttering, when it happens I can see the FPS counter dropping real quick and then coming back to the normal/usual value. That usually happens in the middle of a gunfight (if CS:GO) or a team fight (if LoL). I've already tried changing: my peripherals, USB positions, internet conection (so it is not a latency issue), the HDMI cable, to clean up my PC, defrag HDD and optimize SSD (both games are installed on the SSD) and to clear cache and temporary files (that kind of stuff). Finally, none of that made the problem stop. So, it can only be 1. Both game's servers (But I don't think so) 2. My hardware

Hi I occasionally use handbrake for NVENC encoding and I noticed my GPU (1080Ti) usage was pretty low. Looking at TaskManager I can see that the GPU Video Encode is pinned to 50% and my CPU (3900X) is hovering around 30-40% usage. Is there a way to derestrict or adjust the software to allow its encoding to use 100% of the NVENC chip on my GPU? It should be able to do it it's not bottlenecked by any of the other components.

Hi all, Since building my PC in November last year there has been a slight stuttering issue with most games. Some games such as League of Legends have no stutter whatsoever, however most other games, from the original Far Cry, to more modern games such as Far Cry 5, Rogue Company, Call of Duty Cold War, etc... Have some form of stutter. At the moments of stutter, my framerate drops from 144 to anywhere between 130-90. However, using a gsync compatible monitor this should be no issue. At the moment of these frame drops none of my componentry is maxed out (including individuals CPU cores), my temperatures are within acceptable limits however my frame time spikes anywhere up to 130+ for 1-2 frames. This is what is making the game feel unstable. I ran stress tests on my components including prime95 and memtest which produced no instability; plus I receive expected results on 3d marks tests. Any idea what could be the problem?

Was building my first desktop when the whole graphics card issue surfaced … now that I’m stuck without one, how long can my components last? Considering that I have not remove them from their boxes. Also, over at my side, 1650s and 1660s are widely available but I don’t know if they can outperform my laptop with a 2060 super. My setup consists of a X570 Aorus Elite Wifi and Ryzen 5 5600x

Good morning/afternoon all, I just booted up one of the great games of my youth, Far Cry 1, to run it maxed out on my modern rig, to find it has a terrible stutter issue. I ran performance metrics through RivaTuner and found no component of my PC is even close to maxing out and am unaware what might be the issue. I tried running the game both on a regular monitor with vsync, and without vsync, and on a g-sync monitor however nothing has made a difference. I later downloaded the mod listed here https://community.pcgamingwiki.com/files/file/442-far-cry-amd64-64-bit-upgrade-patch/ due to having an AMD CPU, and I feel this made a slight improvement however nothing good enough to make the game enjoyable when playing. Due to the games 'age' is there anything I am missing? Thanks

I’m thinking of upgrading the ancient GTX 645 in my PC to a GTX 1660 but I was wondering whether getting a smaller or low-profile 1660 would mean worse performance than a bigger one, and if so then to what extent?

I am making plans to build put together a NAS vault desktop, using some older spare hardware lying around. I picked up a system without any storage, so I would need to fill this up. The board is in older Intel Z87, rocking a 4th Gen i5 CPU, a little overkill, but should be OK to start with. I plan to fill the machine up with large capacity HDD platter disks, aiming for 4-8TB for each drive, as I don't want to break the bank each time I purchase a small set. Knowing that it's best practice to keep your OS and Data separate, I would need a boot/OS drive. A low capacity SSD, aiming for roughly 128-256GB would be more than enough. I don't plan to using SSD caching drives at present, but its worth considering. Note: NVMe is not supported on the motherboard due to not having one. My question is in regards to the boot/OS drive. I can find a 240GB drive for A$40, while most other drives are around A$80. My guess for the low price is that it is missing a DRAM chip. I'm not sure if there is a way to check, as many vendors don't list/advertise in on their spec pages. My question is the performance impact and reliability of purchasing a DRAM-less SSD as a boot/OS drive. I'm likely to use FreeNAS, (but unRAID, could be on the cards) with a ZFS format across any storage pool drives. How much wear would be placed on the OS drive for a NAS system? Would it suffer from SSD thrashing as big data comes in? Do cache drives offload this work from the OS SSD? Do these OS drives manage the cluster indexes? As a side note, I don't plan to leave this NAS running 24/7. Its use case is primary archiving digital libraries and content, and a second tier back destination, between my long-term critical data on a portable HDD, and my on-demand server which runs NextCloud.
