It is connected on x16 pci of course Thank you all for reading and for your help!!

My motherboard Intel DQ77MK is an mATX board with the listed specs below: • 16x slot, 1x slot (Covered by 2-slot GPU), PCI slot & an x4 slot with a x16 cutout slot. • CPU: Xeon E3-1230 V2 • RAM: 32GB 1600MHz (4x8GB) • GPU: Zotac GTX 1650 4GB GDDR6 I've currently made a light-medium gaming/server/media PC which I can then re-purpose its uses down the line into a decent server/media PC once I build a main gaming PC. I've bought a brand new sealed PCI Medion MD 5044 TV Tuner intended for Windows XP and below from eBay thinking that I could make use of the PCI slot on my motherboard but when I installed & hooked it all up, I turned on my PC and inserted the installation disc, the setup menu wouldn't load, which prevented me from installing some codecs or drivers or whatever it wanted to install. I checked the Windows update and luckily enough, Windows had found some drivers which I installed so it could be detected in Device Manager. Obviously I couldn't get the software from the CD's setup menu so I resorted to MediaPortal 1 & 2 to test and check if it would detect the TV Tuner & antenna but sadly it didn't and no 'scan for channels' button was seen. However, I tried downloading the software it came with manually by going into the folders as opposed to relying on the incompatible setup menu which i successfully installed 75% of the included software as well as the drivers (I think) but it still wouldn't load either in MediaPortal or with this Power VCR II software it came with. I lastly tried a Virtual machine on Windows XP but with no avail, however the setup menu worked and I installed everything, however it wouldn't get detected in Power VCR II or MediaPortal and I don't want to connect XP to the internet so my last resort has been to download sketchy third-party drivers hoping it might replace the 'old' ones but I haven't attempted that after I've scanned the third-party drivers and found some aggressive PUPs on there. I've been told Microsoft stopped support for PCI after Windows 8.1? Would anyone know what to do or how to even get this dying technology of a TV Tuner up and running? I'm thinking selling it whilst it was brand-new would've been worth more than spending time troubleshooting this.

Hello all, I am trying to find a PCIe x1 or PCI card with WiFi & Bluetooth without USB. I got the TP-Link AX3000 unaware it needed USB connection. If I give it an actual USB connection, then I lose USB ports (OEM mobo and can't change). Not ideal. Can anyone recommend a card that would fit my needs? (Or if there's such thing as an internal USB hub and it would work, then that might be okay... )

Hey! so im trying to set up my windows hotspot to play my oculus quest via air link. My only error is a weak signal from my hotspot. Even on my phone my windows hotspot has 1 bar of signal, the antenna is about 60cm away from me. I cant find anything online as google it only brings up weak signal issues between a router and a pc. Anyone got any ideas? Ive reinstalled drivers, reinstalled the antenna into the pci card... got no idea. Its an ax200 wifi card from Aorus, GC-WBAX200

Hello everyone! My house just got a two in one Wi-Fi router / modem that has 5g and Wi-Fi 6. I want to get a corresponding wifi/Bluetooth upgrade for my pc in the form of a pci/pci-e slot card as it’s rather old and only supports 2.4 ghz. Is there anything I should know before buying? Are there any potential compatibility issues with my PC? Do you all have recommendations for which one I should buy? Thanks in advance!

I recently acquired a RTX 3080 card from Gigabyte, one of their Vision OC cards and for the past 2 and a half hours I have been trying to put the card into my PC but I have not been having any luck. Can you guys tell me if I’m not applying enough force or is it my Motherboard or GPU? (My motherboard is a MSI Tomahawk B550 in a Corsair 4000D airflow case.)

I can't find a definitive answer online, so I'll ask here. I know that gpus for the past few years have been designed for PCI 4.0, but is there all that much of a difference if a gpu is ran on PCI 3.0? Will a gpu be weaker, slower at communicating with the rest of the computer, or is there no real difference? I'm wondering because I heard something about gpus not really using all of the potential bandwidth of 4.0 in the first place and now there's PCI 5.0.

Hello all! pretty straightforward question, hopefully easy~~ So way way back in the day I built a full-size e-atx WC beast on my moms dime (I was like 16). Say the least 2x Intel xeons (MP models of course). Now I do remember specifically with that case, there were 3 outlets for WC’ing lines complete with the, uhm, rubber things. You know, like your routing wires thru ur case… oh grommets? Yeah like 1/2 inch holes in the back of the case with rubber grommets. recently I built my daughter a pc, now she has a thermaltake View 71. In that, I also noticed it has the same thing in back. now I have my own build, in a (don’t laugh) Lian Li O11 Dynamic XL / white. Only reason I got it is bc, well it’s white, and I saw some pics of people that had uh… seperate loops? Forgive me I forget the term. Basically they had 2 loops feeding a distro plate for said case and it looked really sweet. The top loop was one color and the bottom another. In the distro plate you could see “both worlds” utilizing the plate. ANYWAYS back to it. I was surprised to see my case does not have WC outlets. Sure ok it is a “full” tower / ATX, live and learn I guess. is there anyplace I can order a pci bracket for g1/4 fittings? Or perhaps one that would work with these huge quick disconnects I have? These QD’s are NOT g 1/4 - in fact I have no idea, deff way larger than my tubing is. Oh here it is Alphacool 17370 Eiszapfen HF... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01HQ8JUVI?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share being old school like me, there are many reasons I’d like to run lines outside my case. Other than shoving them through a vacant pci, a clean look would be nice lol. also, I should mention - and no I’m not advertising. Can anybody or has anybody found something like this on Amazon? why Amazon? Why don’t I order one off idk, performancepcs.com or awesomecustomstuff.com? simple answer, our Amazon warehouse is no further than the nearest Walmart (not advertising again, walnut just happens to be the only supermarket in town). And of course, returns are easy. I could have a bracket tomorrow versus 3 weeks from now with some other site. again, not advertising! It’s a convenience factor, there isn’t exactly a micro center or other hardcore PC warehouse around - otherwise I’d be there daily… and probably super broke! TLDR; where can I find a pci bracket with g1/4 outlets? What would I even search for cause I can find em on google just not Amazon. NOT AN ADVERTISEMENT Any help would be awesome. Thanks guys n girls n however you identify (weird times we live in)

Hi, recently I updated some of my PC components (motherboard, cpu, ram, cooler), and did a fresh windows install, the issue is that windows does not show any of my PCI devices, currently I have a 1060 gpu and a tp-link wifi adaptor. What's even more weird is that I can see and connect to wireless networks, and that strange since as I mention the card itself doesn't show in the device manager. Also, I tried installing both the gpu and wifi drivers, but none can be installed because the setups indicate that "it couldn't find the device". I already tried windows, chipset and even bios updates, neither of those worked to solve the problem. Motherboard: Asus Prime B560M-A CPU: Intel I5-11400 RAM: Kingston Fury Beast 8gb DDR4 3200MHz (x2) SSD Sata: ADATA SU650 250gb SSD Sata: WD Blue 1tb HDD 3.5: Toshiba 7200rpm 2tb PSU: Gigabyte P650B 80 Plus Bronze 650w GPU: Gygabyte Windforce OC GTX 1060 3gb GDDR5 Wifi: Tp-Link TL-WN781ND Hope you can help me, Thanks.

Heya, I've originally posted this question on a different forum but did not get a solution. I hope I'm not breaking any rules by just copy pasting my own question but a quick search did not suggest anything in that direction. As written in the original post below the problem just solved itself at some point and since I don't particularly care about this VM I just accepted it. It worked again for fourish weeks before I noticed today that the VM would not boot. Again. Same symptoms as last time. I did look up the two device ids but nothing of interest turned up. Anyway, here is my original question I posted four weeks ago: I've been using a Western Digital SN750 1TB SSD for about half a year and it used to work just fine (and does again now). Earlier today the Windows VM I had installed on it would no longer start. I investigated the issue and found the following: The drive did not show up in the host machine's UEFI (it did before this happened) Running lspci on the host did still list the drive The pci device id changed (how is that even possible???) It used to be 15b7:5006 and changed to 15b7:5002 I am passing the SSD through to the VM using its bus and slot number, which did not change, but the VM could not access the drive I did not find anything in journalctl, SMART doesn't report anything either I tried to troubleshoot the problem and it apparently fixed itself after some reboots. The drive does not hold any valuable data, everything stored on it can be replaced quite easily, but I'd still like to know what's up with the drive. Should I replace it or was it just my server doing messing up? And I'd really like an answer to 3) aren't vendor and device id supposed to be static? How can they change? Looking forward to your ideas, thanks

So I found this cool board and it looks like a custom part. There is no manufacturer information or part number anywhere. My question is: what is this connector? Is it PCI? I can't seem to find a very good comparison of PCI to PCIe but the pins are so much bigger than PCIe and the number of them doesn't match anything I've found online so far either. It's definitely the coolest add-in card I've ever found so I'd like to at least know what it is.

Hello. I have a pretty big pc case and I want it to look a bit more filled up. One way I want to do this is by putting a really cool accessory in my left over x16 PCI slot. Please don’t tell me a GPU because that’s not what I’m asking for. I’m looking for a cool accessory. Hope you guys understand and thank you.

Hey Guys. So i have some Problems with my Custom Build PC. For info its my First one i ever done and the Windows 10 Pro Install on this Machine is fresh from an USB-Stick, so no old Clutter. So before you begin reading, i done goofed. I figured the PCI shit out ^^ Missing CHipset driver, that i thought i had installed. But i leave this Thred open, because of the BSOD problem. I don't know if the Chipset stuff fixed this aswell. So basically i have two accuring Problems. One of them is the BSOD that pops up at a new Boot, say at the Moring when istart my PC and the second one is that in my Device Manager there are Four unkown PCI-Devices and they all don't have any Informations on them. and I won't let the feeling go, that these two Problems are attached to eachother. ??? So i started Googeling the Heck out of it and followed the Steps in several Tutorials. I let Malwarebytes search my whole Pc for over 3 Hours, nothing. I prompted the 'scannow' or whats it called Command in the Administrator Shell, that said it repaired some stuff, but the BSOD still comes up from now and then. I Checked the RAM, both Sticks are there and are recognized from the System. I checked all Drivers, nothing. Then I used DDU in Safemode and Killed my Nvidia Drivers and reinstalled them fresh. I don't know if this fixed the BSOD but the fur unknown PCI-Devices are still listed as 'unknown'. Also when i press the 'Upgrade Driver' Button in the Properties for the JonDoe Drivers, it wont find anything. Is here someone whou an help me with these two Problems ? Thanks in advance! ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- My System: Windows 10 Pro Mobo: Tuf Gaming x570-Pro Gaming wifi Ryzen 9 3900X 2x16 Sticks of 3200 DDR4 Kingston Ram msi Ventus x3 OC RTX 3090 1x Kingston A2000 NVME 1TB 1x Samsung 860 QVO 1TB SATA 1x Samsung 850 PRO 512GB SATA 1x WD 1TB Harddrive SATA ARCTIC 280 AIO for the CPU

hey guys im working on a bit of a weird project. i've been messing with a dell d610 latitude. upgraded the ram looking into a HDD caddy to install a SSD. ive also been looking into linux to see what i could do with it. linux mint seems to be the best option. anyways im now looking into getting a D/Dock Expansion Station (M8538). https://www.ebay.com/p/130822119 my question is; what gpu should i install into it. if any Dell Latitude veterans could help me out, that would be awesome. i know it needs to be half height and of course a PCI gpu not PCIE gpu. but trying to find anything useful is driving me nuts. thanks as always

I have a dual boot Windows + macOS (Hackintosh) system, as well as two GPUs: a GTX 660 Ti over 16x PCIe 3.0, and a GT 730 over 4x PCIe 2.0. macOS doesn't play nicely with the 660 Ti, and I'd rather not switch around display cables whenever I want to switch OSes. If I keep my displays connected to the 730, and configure games to use the 660 Ti, will I be bottlenecked?

I tried fitting a second GPU and after I removed it I had the platic conector in my hand.... It seams like asus didnt built it well because I used no force to take the GPU out. All the wires are still there but they seem a little streched. For more infos just look at the pic or text me. I dont think it helps, but If you need them, here are some of my specs: Mainboard: TUF Gaming Z490-Plus CPU: i5-10600K GPU: TUF Gaming 3070 (Bought for 700€, I am a lucky guy hahaha) Case: PhanteksEclipse P600S RAM: 32GB G.Skill 3200 .... So im currently buying parts for my new pc and i already ordered my asus strix 3090 OC and was going to buy the intel i9 10900k cpu which only supports pci 3.0 but i just noticed that the i9 11900k that does 4.0 will be released the 30th this month So my question is the following Would it even be worth it going for the 11900k for the pci 4.0 when using a 3090 or is 3.0 fine? People says the 11900k is worse in gaming compared to the 10900k but i was wondering if using a 3090 which supports pci 4.0 would make a difference in gaming when actually utilizing the pci 4.0 instead of 3.0 and might get better frames than the 10900k because of using 4.0 instead of 3.0? any thoughts?

I recently got an M.2 the other day and I've noticed most games not performing right. After some testing and research, I've found that my PCI slot for my GPU is running in x8 instead of x16. I've done benchmarks with the m.2 in and out and notice a big frame rate loss in some games and stutters when I go from x8 and x16. Losing 900 points in Time Spy GPU and in Forza 4 losing around10% FPS and stutters, while some other games don't care like Tarkov. Most people online seem to think this won't make a difference but it really is for me and I don't know how to fix it. Even GN did a video and showed only a tiny performance hit but this is not the case for me. I tried putting the M.2 in the top slot on the mobo but it disabled 2 of the SATA ports. Also, note the games aren't even running off the m.2. How can I get my GPU to run in x16 with this m.2? OR maybe there is something the bios making the GPU run like shit at x8? So I have an MSI Z370 Gaming Plus Motherboard, which has no Bluetooth on board. However it has the following extension PCIx Ports: (1 x PCIe 3.0 x16 1 x PCIe 3.0 x16 (x4 mode) 4 x PCIe 3.0 x1) //one for the GPU). My requirement for the card is: Bluetooth 5.0(or higher), aptx (low latency) and a price under €50. I already searched trough Amazon, but only found ones with strange brand names like Ziyituod ? Any recommendations? oh and my highest priority is for audio b 5.0 and aptx

Hey, I just recently purchased a dell optiplex 7010 to work from home. However I also bought it to do some light audio editing. In order to use my audio interface I need to install a PCI FireWire card. Ideally I'd like both 400 and 800. The problem is that I'm not 100% sure if I'm getting the right card (and also if there's a cheaper one somewhere?) I believe from the research I've done that it needs to be low profile so that it powers from the port and it also needs the smaller bracket size. The card I've been looking at is here https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B002S53IG8/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_QrcvFbZBYNTDY but it looks like this could have a bracket that won't fit? Maybe I'm wrong though. I am also attaching a picture of the board too. Appreciate any help on this. Thanks!

https://www.amazon.co.uk/ADT-Link-External-Graphics-Thunderbolt-PCI-Express/dp/B07ZB5CS1R Hello, I'm in the market for a new laptop and fancy the XPS 2in1 because I'm a student and the keyboard/ screen/ track-pad reputation as well as the look and size are very appealing to me. That being said I'm also a gamer, so would like some gaming capability in a new laptop, especially an expensive one. Unfortunately they don't make GPU equipped versions of that laptop, but I have a plan. I already have a desktop GTX1070, and might as well use it if I'm going to be gaming on my laptop for any length of time (like a holiday or stopping over at the GF's house for example. My plan was to use the Thunderbolt 3 to PCI-E riser (linked above) along with a small power-supply to pair that with the xps, I was wondering if anyone knows of a better solution or any reason this outright wouldn't work. I have considered an external GPU dock (like the razer core) and as I understand it, they are just a similar solution to this but combined with the power supply in a single unit. The reason I am keen to avoid anything like that is that I am currently saving up for the XPS working during University down-time and want to put as much of my eventual budget as possible towards a higher-spec model, and all of the GPU docks I have seen are very expensive. If I can jank-diy a solution cheaper without cracking open my laptop like those m.2 based options, that would be fantastic. Cheers.
