as you guys can see my ram is always at 3.2 and above in usage even in idol. I have corsair 16 GB ram stick (8gb x 2 ) which are at 3200mhz. Now my problem is that first of all it is always using 3.2 GB and more even at idol and only 10.8 is available for use so for my 16 GB kit I am only using 10.8gb or less . can you guys tell what should I do b'coz my friend's pc is only using 2.8gb of ram and that too its showing 2.8/16.0GB and you can see on left side under memory its showing only 3.2/13.9GB . I am really confused 1261219609_TaskManager2021-10-2400-12-40.mp4

I recently purchased a pre-built pc from Cyberpower PC, from day 1, been having issues...the monitor kept losing signal then at one point, it would also randomly freeze, the keyboard and mouse would hang indefinitely and then it would reboot. After troubleshooting and research, i tried removing 1 of the ram sticks, thinking the other might be bad...it worked flawlessly for 3 days so i tried using the other stick of ram, and to my surprise, it, too worked flawlessly. I then tried switching the ram slots, thinking 1 was bad but its also working. Its an Asus Tuf Gaming motherboard( the X570-Plus (Wi-fi) and its the SPECTRIX D60G ram which im actually not seeing on the motherboard's list of approved ram. Could this be why only 1 stick works but with 2, i get all those issues? Its not the CPU or GPU, i ran benchmarks on those and they run flawlessly with no overheating etc ( the cpu is a ryzen 9 5900x and the gpu is the tuf gaming rtx 3090)

Budget (not including GPU for obv reasons): 800€ Country: Italy, EU (yes, I'm specifying it, I'm dumb) Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: All Assassin's Creed franchise games, except the newer ones; CS:GO for sure, and maybe the latest CODs such as MW2019 but I'm the kind of person low graphic and 60 fps are good enough for. No streaming (very nice 3 megabit wifi I have at home). Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): Long personal introduction (if you want, skip to the next paragraph): Understand me: I had never had the opportunity to "game" because my dad has been into macs since I wasn't even born, so I had only macs in my house. I've been playing a little bit of Minecraft for the last 5 years on my Early 2015 Mac Book Air 11", so... not great. This year things are different, even in my head, so I'm looking for a low-decent pc, both for university and games. Without knowing pretty much anything about PCs, I've done a ton of research, watched Linus videos, and spent time looking for AMD CPUs and motherboards when I make up my mind and decided first to go with an integrated graphics card and after GPU shortage will be over I'll probably buy an RTX 2060. Here's the list: https://it.pcpartpicker.com/list/Jz6yGq Feel free to adit to edit any of its components. Also, I did not include: motherboard monitor mouse and keyboard 'cause I'm clueless so every advice is welcome.

CPU: Ryzen 5 5600x MOBO: B550M Pro Vdh Wifi PSU: EVGA B5 650W Ram: T-force Vulcan Z DDR4 16 gb Case: ICUE 220t RBG GPU: probably going to buy a used 2070 on eBay welcome to any suggestions or tips!

Hello ! I'm having difficulty choosing a motherboard for an build I'm planning for my 5900x and 3080ti There are 2 mobos im thinking of . one is asrock B550 taichi and second is msi b550 unify-X which one do you think is better i do not care about the price that much and both of them on close price so please let me know which one will work great! the only thing i hate about msi unify-x is that there is only one picex16 slot that can lost big GPU on it.And for asrock b550 taichi i heard they set their SOC Voltage to 1.2 to fix their ram XMP problem and im worried if that is too high for daily use(i use my computer at least 7 hours per day..) Also if anyone owns the board im thinking of to buy please let me know how is working so far! Any mobo recommend is welcome!!(i was also thinking asus b550-F and A BUT i saw A LOT OF REVIEW SAYING THAT THEIR BOARD HAVING INTERNET LAN PROBLEM WHICH IS I225V CHIPSET i also know taichi use same chipset for lan) Thank you!

Budget (including currency): ~1000€ Country: Austria Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: videoediting (davinci resolve), digital art (krita with gaoman graphics tablet), photo editing (currently darktable), light gaming (witcher 3, would love to try cyberpunk 2077, maybe some fps shooters but non-competitive) and daily university work. my focus lies more on the videoediting. Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): building from scratch, I basically need everything (i. e. mouse, keyboard, monitor), but I have an additional ~200€ budget planned for the monitor. I would want to buy it in around a month. I've also been thinking about buying a rig without the graphics card due to current prices and upgrading it later. I would use the processors graphics chip or a cheap graphics card until then. resolution should bin min hd 1080p, or if possible for the price 1440p. refresh rate is not to important as long as there are no really obvious lags since the pc will mostly be used for creative work. Thanks in advance for the help I've been really lost in my research, not knowing what is really important for my purposes.

Hi everyone, I am new to PC building and since I got some parts for free I thought i give it a try. The parts list: MSI B450 A PRO MAX AMD Ryzen 5600x 2 x 16GB DDR4 3200MHz Ram Kingston 480GB SSD Rather old: GTX 460 HX 650W Corsair Compatibility wise it should work except i missed something. So i plugged everything in and gave it a try. All fans spinning lookin good i thought, so i plugged in monitor through hdmi (works with Laptop) but no signal no BIOS or stuff... My first thought was that something is wrong with the graphics card so i checked that and the 460 need two 6 pins pcie power cables. For that I used a Y cable 6 pin from power supply to 2x6 pin. May that cause an issue? Otherwise I am pretty lost Is there some way to find out what components could make troubles? I see only the LED for the CPU on the motherboard is on. Should the others also light up? Would love some tips on how to "debug" this Hope i didn't miss any important info. Best regards, Alex

Hey there, I became a member a few minutes ago, and this is my first time ever writing something here. I've been thinking about completely renovating my current PC build, which aged quite well. It's a 5-year-old system, having an Intel I5 7th Gen and a RTX 2060 (Strix Advanced Edition). Yes, I know it's a GPU bottleneck, but I realized it ay too late. After seeing how the tables turned between AMD and Intel, AMD having the multi-tasking and productivity advantage, I've decided to stay to that! But my knowledge in computers isn't that up-to-date. I used PCPARTPICKER's "System Builder" to see which items would be compatible with certain other parts, and which would not. I'm not really planning to change the current GPU, since the MSRP was quite high for some time, but it's slowly going back to how it was. So hey, who knows? I keep thinking to myself, when I look at the list: What kind of PSU should I have? Is my motherboard good enough for the CPU? Should I wait for the newest generation of Ryzen? Possibly even a different case? I would appreciate any kind of recommendation, advice or feedback when it comes to building this computer. Again, looking forward to hearing from what you guys are going to share with me! P.S.: I attached a screenshot of the System Builder (named "Capture (1)"), and a screenshot of my current system.

This is my first build and I have never planned a PC. I have a pretty good idea of my PC but I don't know what motherboard and monitor is good. So far this is what I came up with: https://ca.pcpartpicker.com/list/hvYfz7. I heard that there is a gpu shortage and the price of gpus are really high, so I decided to get a overclockable cpu with integrated graphics so that I could play Rocket League. I have Nintendo Switch anyways so I don't need a gpu immediately. I can connect my switch to my monitor. I also bought an aio cooler because I want to overclock it. I included a motherboard and monitor from websites online, but I'm not sure weather it is good. I want to get something good but don't want to buy something expensive. I would like if you if left about $200 for peripherals and other stuff. So I think that $1800 is what I am aiming just for the PC and the monitor. And the extra $200 can be spent on other stuff. Budget (including currency): $1500 to $2000 CAD ($1300 to $1700 USD) Country: Canada Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Gaming (Fortnite, Rocket League), Day to day use (Word, etc...)

Can someone please help me plan my first build?
BurntIce06 posted a topic in New Builds and Planning
This is my first build and I have never planned a PC. I have a general idea of my PC but I don't know which parts to buy because I have a limited budget. So far this is what I came up with: https://ca.pcpartpicker.com/list/xHH8gt I heard that there is a gpu shortage and the price of gpus are really high, so I decided to get a overclockable cpu with integrated graphics so that I could play Rocket League. I have Nintendo Switch anyways so I don't need a gpu immediately. I can connect my switch to my monitor. I also bought an aio cooler because I want to overclock it. Also if you didn't notice, I am trying to go for white theme. So, I would like it if you could recommend me other white parts and some rgb. In my plan, I didn't include a monitor or a motherboard because I don't which one would work best and still be in my budget. can you please recommend some motherboards that would be compatible and monitors that are look good. I don't need anything crazy for the monitor. A 144hz monitor is more than enough for me. Also, can you tell me where I spent too much on one part and give me a different part that is more suitable. If you have an entirely new build that would suit my budgets, can you give me a link to it because I want to explore all my options. Edit: Is it possible to change to a slighly lower cpu and a include a decent gpu?? Would it be a good idea to downgrade to Intel Core i5-10600K 4.1 GHz 6-Core Processor so that I save a lot of money?? Budget (including currency): $1500 CAD ($1300 USD) Country: Canada Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Gaming (Fortnite, Rocket League), Day to day use (Word, etc...) -

Budget (including currency): USD1280 (SGD1700) Country: Singapore Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Photoshop (for print, large files), Final fantasy, light gaming, light video editing Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): Have an existing 4k monitor so that's settled. Upgrading from an old AF iMac. Replacing that old thing since it's just stopped working. Looking at the 12 core as a form of future-proofing - am I crazy? 3900x is the cheapest Ryzen 9 model in this market at USD600! This was the only RX 5700 graphics card I could find in market - its USD590! Where can I start to shave off the price?

Hello, I've never been on a site like this, and I barely know how to make a proper post on a forum because people scare me! But I figured I had no choice since I'm an Art major who finally after getting beaten and bruised for wanting to go to school have FINALLY got enough money to build my own PC...that and i'm not too smart on PC Build stuff lol My budget is starting at 500 and I wouldn't mind if it hits close to 700. I'm not sure if thats reasonable budget but I'd appreciate any info you have fam. 1. I live in the U.S where people still like to go outside and shop everything's normal 2. Aim My Aim is for Drawing, Mostly in Clip Art Studio and Blender's 2d drawing software| Music Design in FL Studio | 2D animation in Clip Art Studio| and Medium gaming(I believe the most heavy game I have in my Steam is Tales of Vesperia /Destiny 2/ Trials of Cold Steel. 3. Monitors I don't have a monitor but I am getting a 720 32 inch flat screen tomorrow, if I see a need to get a monitor I might, since I'll surely need accurate colours. 4. Peripherals So I just now found out you have to buy an OS when building a PC...oof. But yes I would need a OS, I have a keyboard and mouse already and if I need speakers then I might invest in some later on, but if there are recommendations I'd appreciate it fam : ) 5. Why are you upgrading? : ) I have a 128GB of storage on this laptop... 6. Please, No Dream Builds The only dream build I have is to have a decent computer : )

Budget (including currency): Between $1600 and $1700 (US) Country: USA Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Streaming and several overlays / background applications, Video and music editing, and games like: apex legends, overwatch, minecraft rtx, or any new game decently at 1080p Other details : Already have every other peripheral.Going to use between 2-3 monitors. Looking for a long lasting investment with some OC or easy upgrade capabilty for when extra performance may be needed. budget could be a little flexible but no more than +- $200 To clarify: First time building for a friend I'm helping remotely, so probably wont get into OC or anything too fancy right away. Going intel since can't find any amd cpu's rn. May swap to amd, should any good options appear. Gpu is hard to find, mostly hoping on new stock at microcenter, so any suggestions on a better option to look out for?
