Hey everyone, I have been watching LTT for a few months now, and I wanted to engage in the forum a little bit to see what's what. Therefore, to start off my new found forum status, I would like to ask some questions about gaming computers. I have been saving and saving up for a gaming computer with little to no compromise on the performance, however, after my money saving efforts I am now in a position where I have a choice to make. As it stands right now, I am able to build a computer with decent specs, but my problem is that if I wait a little longer then I can get a computer with even better specs. Now everybody has their own opinions on the kind of hardware they prefer, and they are entitled to those opinions, however, I am not looking for recommendations on specific hardware, I just want to ask one question; would rather build a computer with zero compromise and run the games you want to play at 4k at 120FPS or would you rather build a computer that can run 1440p at 120FPS on most Triple A titles? The reason I am asking this is because I have seen to many people build/buy a computer that they regret certain aspects about later, and my problem is that I don't want to be in a position where I regret or wish I would have waited later down the line. I am not the most knowledgeable when it comes to computer hardware, and I am looking to switch my primary gaming platform from console to PC for various reasons, therefore, I will be looking for hardware recommendations later on when I decide what I truly want to end up with at the end of the day. Thank you Sincerely, Mr_Aston177

I am going to buy a new computer and I have looked into building one myself or buying a pre-built one. I don't know much about parts but my budget is 2500, and I am trying to get both an i9-9900k and a 2080 ti. I also played around with the cyber power configuration, but I don't know much about it. In short, my question is what computer I should buy to get maximum gaming performance with 2500 dollars. Links to computers I have looked at: https://pcpartpicker.com/guide/8B6MnQ/glorious-intel-gamingstreaming-build I wasn't able to make a link but here is the name - Cyberpower: Gamer Infinity RX Ultra 300 Gaming PC

So I am planning on taking my ram G.SKILL TridentZ RGB Series 16GB x2 from my AMD build and putting it into my nuka cola intel build. Now when I had originally built my system, I matched what my friend got for his build. Now I've been eyeing this ram: G.SKILL Trident Z Neo (For AMD Ryzen) x2 My Main question is there honestly a major significance between CAS 14 TO CAS 16.....like the speed would be the same....but I can't for the live of me figure out the extra 90 buck difference? Both sets will be 32GB since I do run editing and CAD software.

My package ? just arrive! Ok , almost got everything now just waiting for the other packages to arrive. But I do have a question, do I need a headphone while doing the bios or setting the pc after the build?( don’t have the headphone right now sort of money in that for now)

Hello! I am quite new to forums like this, so I did not think of looking through the forums before I posted my original post a couple of days ago. Since then I discovered a “template” to post here, so here I go again. 1. Budget & Location I live in Norway and have a budget of around 14 000-15000 NOK (1500US$) for the computer and around 6000 NOK (500-600$) for the monitor. I understand that it is difficult to give specific advice given my location, but general advice is much appreciated. 2. Aim The main aim for this build is gaming. More specific, I want to play a mix between FPS, MOBA, RPG and the whole bunch. AAA titles and such. 3. Monitors I plan to run two monitors. I have a BENQ XL2411T from way back, but I want to add a monitor, preferably around 27 inch IPS 1440p 144Hz and lowest possible ms. Maybe adding a third monitor in the future. 4. Peripherals I need to buy Windows 10, but I have seen dirt cheap codes from G2A and such. I have a QPAD MK85 keyboard and an Ace Edge 3200 mouse, both work for now. Might pick up some new peripherals during black friday/week. 5. Why are you upgrading? I am upgrading since the 970m gpu in my laptop Asus Rog Strix GL502VT died, so I am now using this laptop with the dedicated gpu deactivated. And I also wanted a solid gaming rig that can run most games at full specs and in 1440p. Components Cpu: Ryzen 5 3600 - 2149 kr (240$) Gpu: Gigabyte RTX 2070 Super - 5900kr (660$) Motherboard: MSI B450 Tomahawk Max 1190NOK (133$) or Aorus X570 Elite 2300NOK (257$) M2: Intel 660p 1 TB 1100NOK (123$) Ram: Corsair Vengeance LPX 3200Mhz 2x8 900NOK (100$) or Teamforce Vulcan Red 3200Mhz 2x8 1060NOK (120$) Psu: NZXT E 650w - 1100NOK (123$) Cabinet: Cooler Master H500 - 1100NOK (123$) Monitor: PG279Q 6000kr (670$) Does this look like an ok+ setup? I do have some questions. Motherboard: Are there any advantages for a future casual gamer like me to go for a X570 instead of a B450? I am new to the pc building game and much less tech savvy than I thought, so I struggle with seeing all the pros and cons. Ram: In short, what kind of ram should I get and does it matter what brand I choose for this ryzen build, as long as it’s 3200Mhz+ and 2x8gb? Psu: I was told I could just choose one from the tiers list here on the forum. It is not the cheapest from tier A+, but its far from the most expensive. The cheapest is about 10$ less. Should I go for another psu? Monitor: Do you have any suggestions? 600$for a monitor is kinda expensive, but I know not to cheap out on the very thing I am going to look at quite a lot. I have read that it is kinda like entering the lottery when it comes to buying monitors considering BLB, glow and such. The LG27GL850 looks nice, but it isn’t available here for another 2 months or so. And lastly, do I need to buy extra cables? Or do they come with the psu? For some reason I can't remove the bold font

Hey Y'all, I am building my first pc in 10 years (My budget is around 2000$, but if I really want to I can keep saving about 250$ per month and get a more expensive build if that would actually be worth it), and after getting advice from a friend, advice from this forum, and doing a lot of personal research I ended up with this build planned (This build will be for gaming and my work as a web developer), PCPartPicker Part List Type Item Price CPU AMD Ryzen 5 3600 3.6 GHz 6-Core Processor $194.79 @ OutletPC Motherboard Asus ROG Strix X570-E Gaming ATX AM4 Motherboard $324.39 @ OutletPC Memory OLOy WarHawk RGB 32 GB (2 x 16 GB) DDR4-3200 Memory Purchased For $139.41 Storage Intel 660p Series 1.02 TB M.2-2280 NVME Solid State Drive Purchased For $91.15 Video Card PowerColor Radeon RX 5700 XT 8 GB Red Devil Video Card Case Deepcool MATREXX 50 ATX Mid Tower Case Purchased For $64.34 Power Supply Corsair RMx (2018) 650 W 80+ Gold Certified Fully Modular ATX Power Supply $119.98 @ Newegg Monitor Dell S2719DGF 27.0" 2560x1440 155 Hz Monitor Purchased For $289.56 Monitor AOC 24V2H 23.8" 1920x1080 75 Hz Monitor Purchased For $129.77 Monitor AOC 24V2H 23.8" 1920x1080 75 Hz Monitor $119.99 @ B&H Keyboard Alienware AW768 Wired Gaming Keyboard $79.99 @ Best Buy Mouse Redragon Perdition Wired Laser Mouse $25.49 @ Amazon Prices include shipping, taxes, rebates, and discounts Total (before mail-in rebates) $1618.86 Mail-in rebates -$40.00 Total $1578.86 Generated by PCPartPicker 2019-09-11 14:47 EDT-0400 I have already started buying some parts as they go on sale, and I am planning on finishing this build by around black friday/christmas. What do y'all think of the build and do you have any suggestions for it? Some notes, I know I could get a b450 mobo for much cheaper, but honestly I don't want to have to deal with a bios flash, and I know that the ASUS TUF x570 exists and is 130$ cheaper than the strix x570-e that I am thinking of getting but when looking through the reviews it seemed like the x570-e has better built in wifi, and I really like the look of it. That said I am open to other mobo suggestions.

So I'm planning to build my first PC and here are the specs I've chosen. I'd like an opinion on what I could change, or is this good? I can go 100 or 200 euros up if needed (for a well worthy upgrade/change, or something practical). I built a pc for my friend and shipped it to Japan from Uinted States, when it arrived it does not boot at all, the fans are not spinning for both the cpu cooler and system fans but the motherboard on board rgb is lit up, the RAM is non-RGB Before shipping i made some tests: a. overclocked it at 3.8Ghz stable b. run some cinebench R15 at oc and it was stable c. I ran prime95 for 30 minutes and it was stable d. I ran Aida64 for 30minutes and it was stable e. I played games Overwatch and PUBG for 5 hours everyday for a week with good fps and no problems f. Windows 10 pro and put the power management settings to high performance system specs for reference: a. ryzen 5 1600 b. deepcool gammaxx 400 cpu cooler c. 16gb ddr4 3000 (non-rgb RAMs) d. asus tuf b450m pro gaming e. 500gb samsung 860 evo f. 1tb hdd g. 600w evga psu (80 certified) h. MSI RX580 4gb i. thermaltake versa h17 (non tg) j. 2 intake 120mm fans and 1 exhaust 120mm fan at the back my friend made some basic troubleshooting and still failed to boot here are the troubleshooting done: a. re seated the power cables on the motherboard, specifically the cpu power and the 24pin motherboard power, and storage power cables b. re seated the RAM sticks and tested each by just plugging one by one the RAM sticks to test boot c. cleared the cmos d. changed the cmos battery e. shorted the front panel pins' power switch f. tested the psu via paperclip test and the psu was working fine since my friend does not have extra spare parts to test on his system, we suspected that the either the cpu or motherboard has failed based on the tests made.. I am wondering if theres any more tests needed to be checked or should my friend send it to a professional to check it? (my friend is not pc enthusiast and just followed the guides i showed him from youtube and some other websites for basic troubleshooting) Thanks for the help!

Hi, I need advice since I want to upgrade my PC. This system is mostly going to be used for game development, design and digital art (Unity, Unreal Engine 4, Adobe Creative Suite, Blender, Fl Studio) and I'll also game a little on it (mostly Bf5 and Escape from Tarkov). I already have an X99 motherboard and I'd like not to change it. Currently, I have a Xeon e5-2609v3 but the clock speed is very slow and there isn't HyperThreading. What's a good CPU for my needs? Thanks.

Hey everyone we are looking to build a $1600- $1750 pc in the Lian-li 011 case. We can go a little above or below that price point but would like to stick fairly close to it. We are looking to put in a minimum of the 2070 super, 3 - 120mm case fans probably from cool master, and must have an i7 9700-9900k or amd 3700x-3900x. We are also looking to add an aio with three fans we currently are looking at the coolmaster ML360R aio. If we can add custom cables that would be awesome as well.

First I know the title sounds stupid, but let me explain. Where I work one of my coworkers got one for free, but he cannot sell it nor gift it. However he is willing to give it to any coworker that wants to build a PC, because he is not gonna use it anyway. So I want to build a gaming PC with it. I can spend about $500 in the whole thing (tower only, no peripherals). Also I want to know if it is worth building it or building one with a different processor(one I buy) is better. Note: I already have some HDDs, so only a SSD would be necessary

About to Start my First PC Build, HELP APPRECIATED!
CraigK posted a topic in New Builds and Planning
I'm getting ready to build my first PC in the next few weeks/month. I'm still finalizing what exactly I want to do, I would love any advice you could give me! PC PartPicker List I've so far I've decided on going for: Ryzen 5 3600 X570 Motherboard with WIFI (haven't decided on which one yet, don't want to have to worry about any possible BIOS updates with older boards.) M.2 Boot Drive (I already have a 500GB WD Blue SSD in my 2011 MacBook Pro that I'm planning on adding into this) 16gb of dual-channel 3600 mhz RAM (Not sure if worth the jump from 3200). I already had a monitor that I used for Xbox Gaming so I'm going to use that, keyboard, mouse, and Power Supply were Amazon Prime Day deals. Originally I was going to go for an ITX build because I rather something smaller and that would fit on my desk. Unfortunately, I was limited to only one X570 motherboard option so now I'm debating of just doing an ATX build because of the increase in options. The only issue I have with this is that I don't want something super huge just sitting on my desk, I like simple and clean design (I have a MacBook Pro as my daily driver for school), and that's why I'm still unsure whether I want to go for ATX or ITX, and what case I should go for. I'm looking to spend around $1600.00 CAD all in (Tax included, Quebec is 14.975%), and I'd rather stick with having stuff shipped from Canadian stores because I don't want to worry with having to deal with Duties. ANY AND ALL HELP IS GREATLY APPRECIATED! -
Hi, I am building a PC for Deep Learning purpose and need suggestions for CPU and Motherboard for NVIDIA Quadro GV100. I am confused between Xeon, Threadripper and Epyc. Current spec in mind: Xeon W-3175X with ROG Dominus Extreme P.S should I go for RDIMMs?

I’m using a 1080p 60hz monitor for the time being. I’ve already posted to a forum asking about my PC specs and got some really helpful tips. I’m doing a final review before I buy any additional parts. Help and Input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Hey Guys. So I’ve been building my PC on and off for a couple of years. I started off by buying a GTX 1070 Ti, and a MSI H110M gaming motherboard (DDR4, LGA 1151). I already have a 500gb SSD lying around from a previous PC build, as well as a Terabyte HDD. I already have a cooling setup. All I have left is a Processor and RAM. My monitor is 1080p 60hz. The Processor I had in mind was an Intel Core i5 8400 (Lga 1151). And 8gb DDR4 RAM. This is the exact spec list : -Asus Turbo GTX 1070 Ti -MSI H110M Gaming Motherboard -Thermaltake Casing -Samsung 500gb SSD -Intel Core i5 8400 Processor -Corsair Vengeance LPX 1 x 8gb DDR4 RAM My question was if this PC would be able to run games such as Apex Legends at 1080p Max Settings with a stable framerate and minimal bottlenecking?

This is my first time building a PC. Followed tutorials on YouTube and the manuals. When I turn it on, all the fans and lights were on and everything looks fine, except there is no display/no signal/no post.. nothing. I'm pretty certain that I got all the cables connected correctly but I don't know why it's not posting. Could it be the motherboard? cpu? ram? I know this is a common issue and I've tried to look for the solutions on YouTube, but nothing seems to work.. I tried turning it on with the mobo outside the case, but still didn't work. At this point I'm completely clueless.. Note that I do not have a GPU and only have one stick of RAM. Wouldn't be a problem right? These are the components I'm using: CPU: Ryzen 5 2600 MOBO: Asrock B450M Steel Legend RAM: HyperX Fury 1x8GB 3200mhz PSU: Thermaltake litepower 550w CASE: Tecware Nexus M Please tell me what is wrong with it..

So I'm thinking of getting an upgrade to my current pc and I'm wondering if the new upgrade is justified. The specs are the following: -cpu from i3 7100 to i5 9400f (191.8€) The price is higher than the msrp but this is the lowest it gets (there are none used yet) -gpu from nvidia gtx 1050 to gtx 1070ti (280€) This one is used but let me know any other gpus that work : ) -ram 8gb ddr4 2400 mhz (not looking to upgrade right now) -storage 1tb hdd 7200rpm and adding a samsung 860 evo 500gb (80.5€) -motherboard from gigabyte h170 to gigabyte b360m (70€) -PSU psu is a 500W 80+ bronze one forgot which one it is ;-; Total is 625€ + mouse (111€-not sure if i should spend this much on a razer mamba elite) side notes: this pc is used primarily for gaming. this is the last time I upgrade this pc. Now for the questions.. : D Will the power supply hold up? Is it effective in terms of price/performance? Should I wait for ryzen? (I really dont think im going to get a better deal on a newer cpu + ryzen here always had higher prices than Intel) Should I get an xbo.... jk tysm any help would be appreciated

I just upgraded my motherboard to a msi mpg z390 pro carbon ac and my CPU to Intel i7 9700k. Also upgraded my CPU cooler as well. When I installed all parts into the case , my PC won't boot at all. There is no lights and no fans that run. I'm sure that the case switches are set up correctly and I know I didnt fry the board because there was no smell. Any ideas ?
