So, roughly 2 years ago I built my first PC. Here's the PC Part Picker List. Now, there's nothing WRONG with my PC. She runs like a dream, considering I built her from scratch after just a month or so of research and came from a background of only using Macs. However, I've found that the choices I made for this PC aren't exactly the best. I move my PC more than I anticipated, and the case I chose is simply too big to move around as often as I do. Long story short, I want to downsize my case. This wouldn't be that big of an issue if I wasn't insanely picky, aesthetically, and if I hadn't gotten a freakin' Cooler Master V8 GTS CPU cooler. Don't get me wrong - I LOVE how it looks and works. I wanted my rig to be themed red/white/black, and I loved how badass the cooler looked. However, now that I'm trying to downsize, preferably to something mid-tower sized, it's becoming more of a hindrance than anything else. The biggest issue I have is that I live somewhere that doesn't have a lot of stores that sell PC components. I can't simply go into a store and test for myself if my cooler will clear, and so I have to be 100% sure before I order one. I have one local Fry's, and that's it. Now, the cases I'm bouncing around atm are the NZXT S340, S340 Elite, InWin 303 and Phanteks P400. My parameters are: a white case, side panel window, and that it weighs less / is smaller than my current Storm Stryker. ( HWD 23.80" x 9.80" x 22.80" ; 30.20 lbs. ) I'd also not like to break the bank by buying another $150 case - I'm hoping to sell my old case to help offset any costs, but I'm still trying to not spend an arm and a leg, especially since I'll have to buy new fans, since my current Storm Stryker came with fans. My local Fry's supposedly has the InWin 303 in stock, so I'm going to check it out today. But it's also a bit heavier than I would like, so it isn't my first choice. (Plus, the blue lighting on the front would kinda clash with my preferred color scheme.) So, am I just royally screwed unless I give up my beasty cooler? It's been fine for my needs, and I'd rather not get rid of it, but if I have to then of course I will. I've read mixed reviews about the clearance of these cases. For example, this review claims that they could fit into the S340 a cooler that, with fans attached, measures 170mm where mine is ''only'' 167mm. I was hoping maybe people who own these cases could tell me first-hand experiences with height issues? Or maybe there are other cases you'd recommend? Or you can just tell me to suck it up and get a smaller cooler -- perhaps even go for a liquid CPU cooler. Just, keep it civil, okay?

In theory would a tower pc case make a good heatsync for a cpu? What kind of issues or advantages would such a setup have if any?

Hi I'm planning on starting a mod soon, and I'm scourcing the required materials. I saw in the second part of the fallout bomb pc build, luke used a cable that I have been looking for. It's like a pc power cable extention cord, but with a panel mount on one end. Coud any of you help me find something like that? Sincerely D.L.

I wanted a small case without a window that looks very neat and premium. As I couldn't find such a thing and i had a little time to spend, I thought why not build one myself. Wood is very easy to work with (you can just glue everything together), looks amazing and isn't too expensive. I really like the looks of the dark wood combined with matte metal. Here are some pictures: nearly finished case first design on the left, later design on the right (sketchup) final design interieur layout, gpu not shown for better visibility. the cables come out the top. Both the top panel and the rear panel are removable. The first for accessing all the I/O ports on the motherboard / GPU, the latter for maintenance. Moving on with some pictures of the building process: front I/O cutouts with recesses (made with a dremel), for (top to bottom): headphone jack, microphone jack, 2x USB3.0, vandal on / off switch bottom panel with cutout and recess for the SFX power supply. It draws air from the buttom and exhausts it out of the left side. Motherboard tray mounted to the side panel. The two rails were used from an old case, mounted to an aluminum sheet. All of the inside was coated with a layer of graphite "paint" and earthed (EMI protection) Thats the top panel with the motherboard cutout. On the top theres the reset switch and the HDD LED (not visible from the front) and a fan grill. Thats the finished build from the back. The back panel holds on with 2 magnets to the metal brackets. The fan was mounted on the CPU heatsink in pull, so that there's no problem exhausting the air out of the back (since there are no more fans). A plastic shroud prevents the hot PSU air from circulating inside the case. The SSD is mounted with velcro underneath all of those cables. The PSU is (kind of ghetto-) mounted so that it's decoupled from the case, since wood would amplify and vibrations. There are dust filters on all the intake perforated metal shields (bottom) The system is extremely quiet (inaudible for me over the very quiet hissing of my speakers). Max CPU temps registered are 57 degrees celsius after prime 95 small FTT's stress test (BIOS setting:silent, stock CPU cooler fan). The wood used is 18mm thick acacia glued wood. The motherboard cutout panel is a 3ish mm MDF panel. Side lengths of the sqare base is 300mm (outer), height is 375mm (without the feet). The feet are round matte lian li case stands. Specs: -i5-7500 (relying on iGPU so far, but there would be space for a mini edition GPU) -AsRock Z270M-ITX/ac motherboard -Thermalright True Spirit 140 Power CPU cooler with stock fan -8GB of corsair valueselect DDR4-2133 MHz RAm -Corsair SF450 SFX modular PSU -500GB Samsung 850 evo 2.5" SSD I'm fully aware that the specs are nothing special and it's not suitable for gaming. Well guess what, i wont be gaming on it, i wanted a quiet, stylish office / media / browsing the web kind of pc. If i would want to play some games i can add something like a 1050ti later. I know as well that a Z motherboard is kind of useless with a non-K SKU CPU, it was the only decent available here... This thread will be updated if you have any questions or requests for more details, more pics or whatever. Note that I'm not a native speakers and there may be some mistakes in this post but meh... I've tried

I have all of my needed pc parts bought, except for the case. There are 3 cases i am considering. The phanteks enthoo pro, phanteks p400s tg, and the corsair 400c. All are around the same price. I am low on space right now, so consider that. I want the enthoo pro because it has 5.25" bays, it looks nice, and it comes with 2 big fans. I want the p400s tg for the tg window, the price, and the rgb. I want the 400c for the window and the looks. Which should i choose? I kind of want the 400c a bit less than the others, but im still considering it.

Hello Everyone, I am planning on building a PC and unfortunately I encountered a Problem . I have a PC Case (link given below) which supports 120mm radiator at stop and 240mm radiator at the side. I plan on using the Corsair H100i V2 (link given below). As this radiator wont fit on top part of PC. I will have to install it on the side. Unfortunately there are three RGB fans on the side of the PC Case which I really dont want to move to the top , so is there a way to mount the radiator on top on RGB fans so I dont have to move my rgb fans to the top . Help would be appreciated. I like 2 cases Cooler Master Case Pro 5 Mid Tower ATX Case & Corsair Carbide Series Air 740 Case. I am confused between these 2 cases. Please give your thoughts as this will help me to pick one over the other. Thanks

So I have a Carbide spec-2 from corsair, and it's served me fine till now and I got it a great price when I bought it, but it's got some issues so I'd like to get a new case and I was wondering if anybody knows of any gems that fit my needs what I need in the new case: -large-to full acrylic or tempered glass side panel (glass preferred) -280mm rad support for my AIO -spots for for two 140mm fans(on the rad), and four or more 120mm fans -ample cable management room -space somewhere for an SSD, at least one HDD, and my Hue+ -PSU shroud (entirely optional) -optical drive slot (might as well sue what I have) -easy to clean fan filters (also optional) -black/grey/red colors -MOST IMPORTANTLY as close to $100 US or less (can go over but eh, I have a budget lets stick to it) (also not sure if this should be in the new build/planning forum or the troubleshooting forum, idk)

Hi there all I have a question to ask I bought a second hand case that is in great condition, the previous owner told me that the only missing part is the front 360mm Dust filter. Since there is already a bezel covering the entire front of the case there's not a lot of dust that gets in there. However since I am planning on getting an AIO and considering putting the radiator either on top or in the front I would like to know if I should bother with buying an aftermarket dust filter. There are 3 currently on Amazon but I don't really know the difference between them. I added the links below Thanks for helping out https://www.amazon.com/DEMCiflex-Filter-Alphacool-Radiator-360mm/dp/B01IABYCGS/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1494509364&sr=8-1&keywords=360mm+dust+filter https://www.amazon.com/DEMCiflex-Filter-Alphacool-Radiator-360mm/dp/B01IABYG0K/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1494509364&sr=8-2&keywords=360mm+dust+filter https://www.amazon.com/DEMCiflex-Filter-Alphacool-Radiator-360mm/dp/B01IABY8KI/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1494509364&sr=8-3&keywords=360mm+dust+filter

I was just watching NCIX's review of the portal turret case and as I was watching it suddenly hit me, WHY THE HECC IS LUKE NOT ALL OVER THIS? It made me think of how much I enjoy PC Case reviews from LTT. I understand that PC cases are not something that appeals to everybody and dat sick cash flow depends on having the most amount of people watching as possible but hear me out here, you cannot keep doing everything bigger and louder for ever. Even if LTT becomes world supreme overlords there are a finite number of resources in this planet. "Ok Linus but what about... THE GALAXY! when mankind becomes a multi-planet spices there will be no limit to how much LTT can grow, and everything the telescopes point to WILL BE DARK GREY, WHITE, AND ORANGE MUAHAHAHAHAH". Omg my mind can go places if i let it loose for too long. Anyways, my point is, when I first started watching LTT years ago I was drawn in by the LTTness and PC things that I did not know about. It is fun to see someone explaining something in depth, that you don't know about, that you may have no interest in, but when you see someone knowledgeable, with interesting opinions it is extremely interesting to hear about it. Well i think you all get the idea and the further I keep going the more unprofessional, and the more biased I will make myself sound so yeah guys that has been it for this week, thanks for watching the wan show NOOOOOOOOOOO I hate it when the wan show is cut short but I digress. Wow this post is all over the place, will I ever be able to stop typing, will my fingers fail under excessive strain from typing? tune back next week for another episode of NO, stop, someone help, I can;t stop typing this post, seriously, it just keeps coming "I didn't tell them don't come - Linus 2017" "I always finish - Linus 2017" Enough gosh... whoa... i.. i think.. that should be all.. NEXT PARAGRAPHHH YEAAHHH look at all this space down here ohhhh what shall we type hmewhmewhmew This was my sort of pitch for more PC case reviews, and NO LINUS I so not mean smallest pc case roundup, or anything like that. I mean Legit big FULL ATX towers 850D style or 900D the BIGGEST D. AAAAAAANNNYWAYYYYSSS not complaining about the content lately tho, it's not like there haven't been pc case videos, and how can I complain while were in the middle of a scrap yard wars release woot woot you guys keep doing what you're doing, WOW ETHAN GREAT WORKS KEEP UP, PROUD OF YOU. hopefully someone finds this incoherent rambling mess that i cannot seem to finish entertaining

Deciding between the two, specifications current for my build are on my profile. Prefer the case with better water cooling options

Current build as of now: CPU: Intel 4790K at 4.0 Ghz Cooler: Corsair H75 54.0 CFM LC Motherboard: ASRock Z97 Extreme4 ATX LGA 1150 RAM: DDR3 Crucial Ballistick Elite 16GB (2 x 8GB) at 1866 SSD: Crucial MX100 128GB 2.5 & Crucial MX100 240GB 2.5 HDD: Western Digital Caviar Black 2TB 3.5" 7200RPM GPU: MSI GeForce GTX 770 2GB TWIN FROZR Case: Inwin GT1 Black ATX Mid Tower Power Supply: Cooler Master V850 850W 80+ Gold Certified Fully-Modular ATX Disk Drive: Samsung SH-224DB/RSBS DVD/CD Writer OS: Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium SP1 OEM 64-bit Sound Card: Asus Xonar DSX 24-bit 192 KHz Monitors: Samsung S27C230B 27.0 & AOC E2425SWD 24.0 60Hz Keyboard: AZIO MGK1 Wired Gaming Keyboard Mouse: Redragon Perdition Wired Laser Mouse Headphones: Sennheiser HD 558 __________________________________________________ My main GPU question would have to be would be that am I actually upgrading anything from my GTX 770 to a original GTX Titan or GTX 690 or even a 780ti(EBay has a giant price drop for these GPU's currently)or should I just go with a 980ti just due to better overall newer hardware.(Want a card upgrade for a significant increase in video editing and photo editing, gaming increase doesn't need to be huge but probably wouldn't mind that). Regarding the case upgrade, was probably looking more towards a Fractal Design Define S related chassis for overall better rooming for cooling but would like to know if some comparable or even better than FD is available(Price isn't really an issue here)

Hi everyone. I'm asking you guys for an advice for PC modding criteria for judges. What would you suggest as criteria in which could competitors get points? At the end of October in Slovakia will be an event which organizers wants to implement competition in PC case modding and needs advice what criteria would be ideal to judge in that competition. I found this link with some criteria but I want to ask your opinion as well: https://images10.newegg.com/UploadFilesForNewegg/Promo/casemod/rules.htm Thanks for advice.

Any good tempered glass cases under £110 that anyone knows of, I'm looking at some Thermaltake stuff at the moment and interested in the Core P5 (I know its not TG) or the View 31 TG. (Don't suggest the NZXT S340 Elite, shockingly not a fan)

Hey guys I am looking for an atx pc case under 200 Euro. Could you recommend me a good case but a major factor for me is the design of the case i was looking at the corsair obsidian series 750D Airflow edition because of the led fans in the front. Could you recommend something similar. The lower the cost the better i have a pretty tight budget. Thx for all answers

I made my own PC Case, built out of wood. It took me about a week, please leave a comment about how I can improve it I'm not sure what to do with the sides, I originally wanted to paint them in light gray, but I'm not too sure about that anymore. I'll treat the inside like the front soon (just add some special oil, don't know the specific words in english but it's for wooden stairs and floor). Maybe I'll do that to the outside too instead of painting it gray. As I said, I'm not too sure about it anymore. And I'll definitly add speaker spikes (when they arrive, fk u DPD ) Link to my album:

Looking for a case where the motherboard is backwards so you have all the ports in the front.

I don't normally ask such open ended questions, but well... I want a new ATX case. With tempered glass. I have no idea where to start.
