Budget (including currency): Unspecified; ~$2500-3000 Country: US Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: 75% Gaming, Web surfing, hobbyist writing and minor database management I've clipped a snapshot of my current intended parts list; I've already acquired the case and GPU. Now, time to be a person again. Hey everyone! New to the LTT Forums, been a subscriber to the YT channel for a few years now. I built my first PC back in early 2016 and it is WELL overdue for, in my case, a new build to jump into a set of hardware that's capable of handling these newer games. I'm posting to garner some feedback on my currently planned build; I'm the type to do tons of individual research where and how I can, BUT, still being a relative novice in the more detailed aspects of the PC world, I beseech you guys and gals for your input. My budget is left vague because I'm not opposed to spending decent chunks of money on my hobbies so long as the money is spent for a purpose. My theme, as is likely obvious, is a sort of snow white with black accent sort of build. Without writing a novel about why I chose what parts, all I can think to say now is this: what would you recommend I change, and why? Or did I do a decent enough job already? Thanks in advance for the feedback, and happy gaming! EDIT: Sorry, forgot to mention - I run multi-monitor setups; minimum of two, and I believe I'm going to be adding a third later on. Not sure if it changes anything, but I remember reading to mention it.

Hi there, I want to buy myself a pc for around 1500 Euros. I searched quite a long time and had some months to get some info's and then put it together on PCPARTPICKER. I also want it to be a bit future prove that's why i chose ddr5 and i already have the PSU. I would like to play games like War Thunder, Cyberpunk 2077 and other power hungry games... Video editing is also a thing i might want to do so yea... The link for the Part list is here : https://pcpartpicker.com/list/LT67k9 . I really hope the build is good but never the less thanks in advance for help. Hope my English wasn't that bad it's not my mother language. Have a great day Herbs

Budget (including currency): Rupees 1,70,000 (~$2000) Country: India Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Assassin's Creed games after Valhalla, Cities Skylines I & II (When Released) Playing and Recording Gameplay, New Far Cry Releases, CoD, Adobe Illustrator, After Effects, Chrome Tabs (135 are open right now), I plan to add a 2nd 1440P monitor in future. Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): Existing Parts: 1 x 27" 2K Monitor Gigabyte G27Q Mouse & Keyboard Needed: Wifi 6/6E receiver (I think motherboards have that now a days) 1 TB SSD 2 TB HDD 64 GB RAM Windows 11 Pro Required Resolution and Refresh Rate: 1440P & 120-144 Hz Upgrading From: Acer Predator Helios 500 (i9 8950HK, Geforce GTX 1070, 48 GB RAM, 1 TB SSD, 2 TB HDD) Why Upgrading: I have used Acer Predator Helios 500 for 4 years now as my work and entertainment computer. It worked fine until now. Recently I repasted it. GPU temps have gotten 10 degrees less but CPU temps are wildly fluctuating and it shutdowns if I play AC games after overheating. I suspect that one of the screws is not putting enough pressure on the CPU. Also I am going to buy a laptop suitable for carrying around with good battery backup for my business purpose. So I decided to get a PC that I can work and play video games on in my home office. When Buying: In April 2023. Within a Month. No water cooling if possible. Remember that room temperatures are higher in India.

Budget (including currency): $2800 Country: USA Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Val, apex, fortnite, cod, diablo, r6, and some light CAD for school Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): 1440p monitor needs to be in budget and the gpu has already been purchased, hence the $1120 price. Also, it needs to be a matx case since I will have limited space. There's no atx 3.0 psu because I will be using custom cable mod extensions. Hey, I'm looking to a buy an ATX 3 psu with PCIe 5 connectors for 40 series GPUs and some time after buying a series 40 GPU (I currently have a 3070Ti). Would I be able to connect my 3070Ti to the new psu with PCIE 5 connectors or should I buy and adapter ? If I do need an adapter I would be happy to know how it's called.

Hello, I’m working on my first build, and I’m struggling to get my Asus prime z790-A WiFi motherboard to align with all of the standoffs on the Lian Li o11d evo case. The built in IO shield will look like it’s in the right spot for the hole on the case, but just seems too big to let the board go quite far enough to the left to screw in properly. I’ve seen other completed builds with this board and case, and I know the o11d evo supports ATX, so it should fit, but I can’t figure out what I’m missing. If anyone’s worked with this case and/or board before and can give me any advice I’d appreciate it

I could explain in vivid detail exactly why and how I'm in this situation, but to sum it up I want to know if I can use 8gbr (temporarily) with newer computer components like an i5-11400F and a 2070 Super or should I go get the ram first and then do the rest?

Budget (around 1600 USD, max 1700 USD (OS not included)) Country: Denmark (Above Germany, below Sweden and Norway) Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: 1440p, high refresh rate gaming, YouTube watching/web browsing, some video recording/editing and emulation. (basically, any and everything (mostly gaming)) Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): I have tried making a list by looking at reviews, but I am not sure if I have chosen good components. I recently got my hands on a Dell Precision T1700 Server, with a Intel Xeon E3-1245 v3 CPU and 24 GB of RAM (8*2 + 4*2). I was looking to make this into a functional computer, that would be second to my main laptop that I use. Since it’s a desktop, I hoped to get more mileage out of Eng Applications like ORCad and Revit/Inventor, as well as game (I usually play simpler games and indie games like MineCraft, but occasionally play Civilization VI and Cities Skylines-type games that are based on simulations - running games like GTA would be a plus too). 1. What recommendations would you make to upgrade the tower? My thoughts are looking into (in order): GPU, RAM, PSU (the power supply is 290 W, though I assume a lot of this computer’s power connectors may be proprietary, because Dell? 2. Are windows keys stored in the server? If so, does it activate upon installing windows on the machine? 3. Are those sticks of memory a good idea ie. Should I run it at 16 GB? 4. Anything else I should know? (The reason this server is no longer in use is because ‘no bootable device found’, which I assume is as easy as installing an SSD I haveand reinstalling windows?)

Budget (including currency): £1300 Country: United Kingdom (Scotland) Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Editing 4K drone and GoPro footage, Gaming, Media Storage, Simulations (Starting Mechanical Engineering at uni) Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): The build I have linked has an AIO on the list I know I don’t need that and probably won’t buy at the near term but I would really like to go for a very clean white ascetic with this build, it’s also very important that I have plenty of storage for all my media as I currently have over 4TB of media stored on just one external hard drive which I very much would like to fix as soon as possible so I would also like plenty of space for storage expansion with this build and therefore a hard-drive cage and space to mount Sata drives is necessary. If possible as well I would like this build to be as quiet as possible as it will be on a desk in my room where I sleep and as future proof as possible as I won’t have much money for any upgrades in the near future. I would really like some help on ways I can save money any more suitable parts for what I need out of this system and any recommendations. Also with my current laptop it’s basically impossible for me to edit let alone view the drone photography I shoot due to it only having 8GB of ram so I need at least 16GB or more comfortably 32GB but I’ve been looking at prices and I can get a 16GB DDR5 kit for the same price as a 32GB DDR4 kit of ram so wonder which is best generally for this build and for editing specifically. Plan on using one higher refresh rate monitor maybe 145HZ and one cheaper low refresh rate second monitor as having two monitors makes life a lot easier for editing I find personally. Though really I don’t know anything about monitors and have no clue what would be best for me. I’ve got a mouse, headphones, mic and most peripherals except for a good keyboard only have an e-waste keyboard that my dad gave me to use from his old job. I currently though don’t have any monitors as I’ve just been borrowing my dads monitor when he’s not using it. I am upgrading from a 2016 mac book air so almost anything will be quite the upgrade. Gaming wise I’m upgrading from a original Xbox One, I think it’s one of the first batch of Xbox One’s made and I’ve got a day one controller for the xbox. Thank you for any help or suggestions you can give me I would really appreciate that and hope I’m not asking to many questions or overwhelming anyone. https://newegg.io/3f6c3f4 Built this on Newegg and have not been able to find some of the same part on Pc Part Picker and the Graphics Card was much cheaper on Newegg at the time of me making this list

I would like to play at 1440p, 144-160 Hz, I wouldn't like the PC and peripherals to be more than 2000, the components that are still there please don't switch it maybe the cooler and some peripherals (don't switch out the pc components), but I would still like it to be aesthetically pleasing without it being more than 2-3k (the whole pc including peripherals). Thank you to whoever would like to comment and fix my mess.

Hello fine ladies and gents. I'm currently looking to upgrade my system with some substantial changes, it's been a while since my last build/upgrade I would appreciate suggestions on what to change, add or remove. In regards to certain component I would like to keep future proofing in mind. Budget (including currency): 1100 EUR (for remaining components) Country: The Netherlands Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: I currently have a lot of games that I cant really run smoothly, I would like to be able to run these, some examples include Civilization VI, GTA 5, Red Dead Redemption 2, Dying Light 2, Borderlands 3, Spiderman: Miles Morales and preferably upcoming release as well (like say Spiderman 2) Other details I would like to play my games on 1440p, 120fps, high/ultra settings. A lot of the parts for my build I already have, the CPU and GPU are my biggest uncertainties as a lot seems to have changed in regards to those over the past couple of years. https://pcpartpicker.com/list/f27qC6 Notes for the parts: CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 5800X3D - This is one of the main areas where I don't really know what is good anymore, the 5800X3D was recommended to me by a friend. Cooler: be quiet! Pure Rock 2 Black - Tried to find a not too pricey cooler which fits in my existing case. Motherboard: MSI X470 GAMING PLUS ATX AM4 - This board I already own and use in my current system, I would like to reuse it since its not that old and I bought it with the intention of upgrading in the future. RAM: Corsair Vengeance LPX 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) DDR4-3200 CL16 Memory - These sticks I already have, although feedback would still be welcome. Storage: Samsung 980 Pro 2 TB M.2-2280 - Already have this component sitting in a drawer, waiting to be installed. GPU: XFX Speedster MERC 319 CORE Radeon RX 6800 XT 16 GB - Another component I don't really know much about anymore it seems, any and all help would be appreciated. Case: NZXT S340 Elite - I already use this case and would like to reuse it since it was a present and it seems to be in fine condition. PSU: Corsair RM850x (2021) 850 W 80+ Gold- lowest priced 80+ Gold - Managed to snag this from a friend who decided building a PC wasn't for him after all. Case Fans: be quiet! Silent Wings 2, 120mm - I have two Silent Wings in my current build which I plan to reuse as well as two standard case fans that came with the NZXT S340 Elite. Peripherals: I own a 1080p monitor which I only use for video watching and side tasks. For my main monitor I'm using a 144hz 1440p Iiyama display which I'm quite content with, but I've never been able to utilize fully. The build would thus ideally be able to power both displays and have the capacity to run the games I mentioned preferably on high settings, 120 fps and 1440p resolution. I hope I have given enough information to be able to help me. Thanks in advance for looking over it!

It's getting close to the summer, so I'm doing a $1500 build. Although I can probably go out of budget for around 100-200 Here's the list: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/CqLKzf I'm doing the build mainly for gaming, content watching and potentially productivity on the side. Any ideas? A lot of choices I made are based on my last build, here:https://pcpartpicker.com/list/P3PQ4s I'm giving that one away because I'm just that nice. Mainly, I'm wondering whether I've spent too much on the mother board and power supply. I'm uncertain whether I should go with AMD, I just liked it because it's good value, although I'm not so certain about that anymore. I'm kind of out of the loop As well as I'm uncertian whether I should wait for 4070 to come out. Anyways, thanks a lot for looking it thus far.

Budget (including currency): 1500-2000 CHF Country: Switzerland/France Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: triple A games (catching up with the titles from last few years) genre action-adventure, RPG, open-world games (i.e. Horizon, God of War, Assassin's Creed, the Witcher 3, Cyberpunk) capability for VR gaming (steam VR, Oculus Quest 2) Other details That's my first fresh build (transitioning from old laptop) While looking for components I've grown fond of white aesthetics and sapphire theme (blue dragon saphira from C.Paolini books, small sentimental value for me) I wanted to finalize it in next few months so Q2/Q3 2023 I would prefer to shop at Digitec, cause it's a bit cheaper with swiss tax Upgradability in mind, because I think it will be my long time setup, but I was still a bit unsure about going B650 with AM5 and DDR5 mostly because of high entry price. So I stick with AM4 and DDR4 in my proposed build. But with good arguments and proposition I could change my mind. One of my proposed builds in PCPartPicker after some research https://pcpartpicker.com/list/9MDHC6 Listed build ( with my alternative options and my comments) GPU - 500CHF - Sapphire NITRO+ AMD Radeon RX 6700 XT (Friend is selling his GPU, used for 1 year in mining, still have 3 year additional warranty. It was my inspiration to start the build.) PSU - 130CHF - EVGA SuperNOVA 750 G5 (bought from the same friend and the same condition as GPU) CPU - AMD Ryzen 7 5800X or 5 5600X (Those were my first picks) Motherboard - ASUS ROG B550 A gaming or MSI B550-A PRO (just a cheap and sufficient choices) RAM - Kingston Fury RGB SE 2x16GB/3600 or Fury RGB SE 2x8GB/3600 or G.Skill Ripjaws V 2x8GB/3600 (I was looking at ranges around 100CHF, and I can't lie the SE has nice aesthetics) Cooling - DarkFlash Tech DX240 V2 or DeepCool AS500 Plus (AIO vs air, white version for both) Storage - SSD 1TB Crucial P3 Plus and HDD 1TB WD Blue 7200rpm Network card - TP-Link Archer T5E Case - Enemax Marbleshell MS30 WH or Oversteel Azurite WH (Enemax fits the aesthetics with almost dragon scale look, but Oversteel seems like better option for cooling with front panel mesh and two magnetic filters, and it still has a logo which reminds me of Silksong) Display - AOC Q27G2E/BK (looked like decent and cost efficient option, just one for now, will expand the setup later) Total cost : ~ 1650 CHF I'm open for suggestions and alternatives components for most of the parts (maybe except GPU). I would appreciate any feedback, especially critics! Thanks for help

Good day, everyone I am a complete rookie who has finally saved enough money to build a baller desktop computer (in hopes to future-proof for at least half a decade). I am using a z790 motherboard, intel i9-13900KS cpu, 2 m.2 SSDs, 32GB teamforce ddr5 ram, msi rtx 4090 suprim x gpu and plan to water cool them both with 3 radiators and multiple fans. For now, I will be connecting the desktop to my TV since this fool is now too broke to buy anything else (yup, I hear you!). Hence, may I humbly request for your guidance as more experience PC-builders, as to what PSU might be the best to aquire for such a build? My initial gut feeling was around 1500 - 1600W with atx 3.0 (which I belive natively supports 12VHPWR for rtx 40 series gpu) but I am unable to find a good psu with those specifications? Please help this foolish amateur to build a needlessly expensive PC by suggesting a good PSU with enough headroom even after accounting for all the components and peripherals, just in case!
