So, I've been building a new pc, but I'm not sure that everything will work, such as the RGB and the fans, AIO. If u wanted to know I'm going to play games like Forza, 2K, COD and GTAV, I'm also thinking of starting to stream and make videos, such as gaming. I have a 1440p monitor 144hz. I changed the prices, of the items because that's how much they cost in my country, so don't worry if u change some items and it goes a little bit over my budget of 1300€. I would like to use the case I put, because I just love how it looks, and it has 3 fans already installed. Part link - https://pcpartpicker.com/list/rqcHcb

I'm sorry if I'm repeating some old question, I'm new to this forum and PC building in general, and I've been obsessed with chasing the most optimal bang for the buck. As far as I understood from studying many benchmark tests, at least when it comes to gaming, GPU matters much more than the CPU. As in, you can run a new card with a much cheaper (older/less powerful) CPU with pretty small performance penalties, if any. For example, I found RTX 3060 would do pretty well paired with Ryzen 3500. To test CPU-GPU pairings, I used pc-builds.com's bottleneck calculator to make sure it wouldn't surpass 10%. However, I've often heard it being advised to pick a more powerful CPU so in ~4 years you might upgrade to a more powerful GPU without having to buy new CPU/Motherboard. Essentially, you're paying forward for an upgrade. But is it worth it instead of selling old and buying new GPU+CPU+Motherboard? I've thought of some pros and cons to buying an overpowered CPU: PROs: Cons: + Beefier CPU is better for other productivity applications - I mostly use my PC to game, so extra performance would just be left on the table + Don't have to deal with potential hardware market tribulations - Some new features like PCIe Gen5, etc. may be available, while you're stuck with older stuff Here I decided to make a thought experiment based on data that I can find online. Let's say in 2019 (4 yrs ago) I bought a budget mid-range card GTX 1660, and in 2023 I decided to sell it and buy RTX 3060, a card in roughly the same financial niche. Here are 2 hypothetical cases: 1) I bought Ryzen 3 1200 + M/brd. It was a reasonable CPU for the card at the time, but not very future-proof. I then sold CPU+M/brd along with the GPU and bought one better suited for RTX 3060, Ryzen 5 5500 2) I splurged on Ryzen 2600X + M/brd and kept them, just upgrading the GPU. According to pc-builds.com's bottleneck calculator, 26% of this CPU will not be utilized with GTX 1660, but when you upgrade to RTX 3060, it's just 2.6%. Let's try to figure out the price (old prices researched by amazon listing charts from camelcamelcamel.com, current used prices are from ebay). 1) In 2019, Ryzen 3 1200 cost ~$100 retail, now it goes on ebay for about $45. New Ryzen 5 5500 costs ~$128. So buying one CPU, then selling and buying a new one costs $100 + $128 - $45 = $183 2) In early 2019, Ryzen 2600X cost ~$190 retail. As for the motherboard, if my research is correct, B450M chipset would support Ryzen 1200, 2600X and 5500 all the same, and also that more advanced chipset would not improve performance all that much, so no point comparing the prices. This might be different if I was comparing thing in 2024 (5 years later), as things like PCIe Gen5 with DirectStorage would be an important feature for performance. So, with both scenarios I ended up spending roughly the same amount of money ($7 is well within my margin of error). BUT! What about the inflation? It's been wild lately, so let's adjust $190@2019 for 2023: it's whopping $217! This might not be a representative case just like 2021 GPU price apocalypse is not representative of the GPU market, both are affected by a black swan event (COVID). Basically, what I'm getting at is if you're just after gaming, it's probably not worth trying to anticipate a GPU upgrade and just go with whatever is the most optimal CPU for it right now. I'm still not sure of my math though, it's a very complicated topic for me.

Budget (including currency): No limit, but the less, the better (around 3-4k at max). I'm hailing from Brazil, so prices are high and in $BRL Country: Brazil Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Everything, from gaming to streaming, music production (hobby), possibly video editing in the future. Other details: Here is my current setup: My original plan was to sell the CPU and GPU and go for a RX 6700xt + Ryzen 7 5700-5800xt combo, as I mainly want to increase the graphical capability of my setup (after seeing a yellow-glowing-eyed captain in COD WW2 campaign, completely ruining my immersion lol). Currently running a dual 75hz monitor setup, but aiming to get a 144hz one in the future. Considering this option, I would need to upgrade my power supply which led me to think if it was worth doing it or getting a new setup completely. Also, unsure if I need faster RAMs ('cause Ryzen), but would definitely like to go for 32GB at least. The second issue that I have is, being the crazy lunatic I am, I'm planning on DIYing my own case, and given my experience with woodworking, it can be an option. But that comes with increased thermals, so I'm debating the cost of doing something myself and upgrading my cooling, or keeping the current case and cooling setup. As I mostly plan on running games on 1080p on ultra-high 60+ fps for a few years (at least until I get a 144hz monitor and require more frames), these gpu-cpu combo came to my mind, but I'm open for suggestions, tips, corrections on possible mistakes I've made, etc. PS: My whole system, brand new, would be evaluated at ~= R$6000,00 BRL. Selling a full system is easier than parts individually, and whatever I can sell will add to the budget. That means that A 6700xt brand new goes for 3500,00 - 3800,00 on average, but I can get an used one for 2k ish. Also, any recommendation is fine, I'll find the prices in my currency and let you known how accessible they are. Thanks in advance for the comments!

I've built my PC for about 4-5 years now and I do clean it every half a year(I know I'm lazy) Here's my build:https://pcpartpicker.com/user/Atumcor/saved/ZCXQD3 Recently my PC fans are starting to get pretty loud, so I think getting bigger and better fans and I might consider changing out my stock CPU cooler that's been there for a long time. I'm looking at those 2 fans: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00KF7O58G/ref=ewc_pr_img_1?smid=A1Z5H6ZGWCMTNX&psc=1 https://www.amazon.com/quiet-Wings-high-Speed-BL083-Cooling/dp/B07MJQJX6T/ref=sr_1_3?keywords=be%2Bquiet%2B140%2Bmm%2Bfan&qid=1678134366&sprefix=be%2Bquiet!%2B140%2Bmm%2Caps%2C91&sr=8-3&th=1 Also I heard this one is good as well: https://www.amazon.com/quiet-Silent-high-Speed-Premium-Cooling/dp/B0B744J87R/ref=sr_1_4?keywords=be%2Bquiet%2B140%2Bmm%2Bfan&qid=1678134366&sprefix=be%2Bquiet!%2B140%2Bmm%2Caps%2C91&sr=8-4&th=1 Can someone explain to me why the last one is so much more expensive compare to the first 2? I'm consider getting 4 fans to change out all the fans I currently have, my budget is around 60–70 bucks and I'm willing to spend a little more to keep my pc quiet. Any suggestions? Other choices of fans? Thanks a lot anyway.

Budget (including currency): 175£ / 200€ Country: Denmark Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: AAA, FPS and MOBA Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): I need a cooler for my i7-13700k cpu. It can be a bit more expensive or a bit cheaper than the budget but i would like to keep the price as low as possible. The cooler doesn't need to be some fancy rgb show but it would be a nice bonus. I want it to fit in my case (corsair 4000D Airflow black), be fairly silent and have good airflow. I am only planing to enable XMP on the cpu (no hardcore overclocking). I also need some fans that can go along with the build (Budget not included). I've been considering: Noctua NH-D15 chromax.black Corsair icue h150i elite capellix NZXT Kraken X73 But i want to know if there's a better option for my pc. The pc build: cpu - i7-13700k Motherboard - Gigabyte z790 gaming x ax Ram - G.Skill Trident z5 Neo 32 GB (2 x 16 GB) DDR5-6000 CL36 Storage - Kingston Fury Renegade 2 TB M.2 PCIe 4.0 GPU - XFX Speedster MERC310 AMD Radeon RX 7900 XTX Case - Corsair 4000D Airflow (Black) PSU - Gigabyte P1000GM

Budget (including currency): 900 USD (for everything, including peripherals and monitor) Country: US Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Only gaming, FPS and racing games Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): I will need a keyboard, mouse, monitor. This will be my first PC, and I hope to buy it soon. Hoping to get a 1080p 165hz monitor. I would like it to be future-proof, and I think I picked some future-proof parts. I don’t really know which case to buy, so if you have any recommendations please leave them. I want it to look nice, but I’m not going to spend any money on things like RGB or cable extensions. CPU: ryzen 5 5500 Motherboard: MSI pro b550-VC GPU: gigabyte rx 6500 OC RAM: neo forza mars 16gb (what speed should I go with?) storage: needs to be at least 1tb, M.2 SSD PSU: thermaltake smart bx1 650w (is this too much?) Where should I buy the parts from? I’d be willing to pay a little extra for faster shipping.

I like mini itx and i like minimalism so i chose formd t1 if u have better options suggest it! I am also thinking of taking 7700/x over 5800x3d incase ill take an upgrade in 3 years but idk. And ive been thinking of taking amd 6900 xt instead of rtx 3080 because of amd amd combo. My budget is flexible and the less the better but i hope to build a pc for like next 4 years and can overpay a lil. Also suggest me some monitors please!

Hello people, I’ve been assisting my friend with planning their first rig and we have come up with a plan on pcpartpicker. I can only offer so much advice on my own and thought I should open up for other opinions. https://au.pcpartpicker.com/list/yZVcDq They already have the graphics card from another friend so we didnt think we should upgrade any more from there but all others parts could be swapped if there are better options for around the same price. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks in advance Edit: I have told them to get 2x 8GB ram sticks

Budget (including currency): Around £2,000 Country: UK Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: All sorts of games Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): Hi all Would be very grateful for some advice on my first PC build. I've set out my proposed build below and had a few Qs before I hit the "Buy" button! Apologies for the questions - very thankful if you could answer even answer 1 or some! CPU** | [Intel Core i7-13700K 3.4 GHz 16-Core Processor] CPU Cooler** | [Noctua NH-D15 chromax.black 82.52 CFM CPU Cooler] Motherboard** | [Gigabyte Z790 AORUS ELITE AX ATX LGA1700 Motherboard] Memory** | [Kingston FURY Beast 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) DDR5-6000 CL40 Memory] Storage** | [Kingston NV2 2 TB M.2-2280 PCIe 4.0 X4 NVME Solid State Drive] Video Card** | [Gainward Phantom Reunion GeForce RTX 4070 Ti 12 GB Video Card] Case** | [Fractal Design Torrent ATX Mid Tower Case] Power Supply** | [be quiet! Straight Power 11 1200 W 80+ Platinum Certified Fully Modular ATX Power Supply] Q1. Is the PSU good? I've heard good things from various tier lists but would be keen to know if anyone has any qualms with it. Q2. Has anyone tried to fit the NH-D15 to my z790 motherboard? I'm getting a note on pcparkpicker that the cooler may require a separately available mounting adapter to fit the motherboard. Q3. I intend to run games at around 1080-1440p and pretty high settings. I'm most interested in keeping temps low and increasing longevity. I'm a little concerned my build might be overkill and just get too hot and burn through too much power without me needing it. I know I can undervolt the cpu/gpu but I'm wondering if there's perhaps gpu/cpu software which could ensure the hardware isn't overworking unnecessarily? So if I'm running a 1080p game, surely a 4070 Ti could handle it at sub-70 degree temps and without needing some super performance mode? I've considered liquid cooling for temps too but decided not to go for it for various reasons. Q4. Does the audio quality offered by a motherboard really matter? I'm thinking of FPS games like COD/Tarkov/etc - I'll eventually want a top tier headset to get the best sound advantage but don't want to be bottlenecked by a motherboard investment I made early on. Q5. I'm spending a lot on the GPU so I wanted to make sure I'm getting a good one. The Gainward 4070 Ti is the cheapest but I'm wondering if there's any downsides to not getting, say, an ASUS one? I couldn't find anything online in respect of 4000 series GPUs on this so any thoughts are welcome! Thanks again

Hey everyone! I'm fresh here and bring my first PC build along. I'd be glad if someone can help me with my remaining questions and/or validate my build. Thanks in advance! Budget (including currency): 3.000 € - 3.500 € Country: Germany Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: I'll use it mainly for gaming and learning 3D modeling, but also for web development. Any recommendations for a specific PSU? RAM: I'm looking for a 64GB kit with 6.000Mhz since I read that that'd be good for an AMD CPU. Anything else to consider here? Storage: I'm not sure whether a 2TB M.2 SSD will be enough. Should I get another SSD or would you recommend a HDD instead? Cooling: Since my CPU came with a cooler and the case already has okayish coolers: do I need additional coolers?

Budget (including currency): 2850.23 (USD) Country: USA Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: The Division 2, Hitman 3, Darktide, VR Titles (i.e Half Life: Alyx) Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): Upgrading from a MSI GS75 Stealth Gaming Laptop that has a Intel Core i7-10875H, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060 a intel. Recently My boyfriends PC has been Overheating a bit, we managed to fix it my propping it up to allow airflow, but we both realized he needed a proper PC. So i decided to take initiative and (as a first time PC builder) research on the kind of experience would be idle. My boyfriend wanted a 4k resolution, 240 Hz Refresh rate but i convinced him to go 2k resolution and a 144-170 Hz refresh rate as i have had a much better gaming experience. So as of now this is what I've come up with. Id like an opinion on it since this is my first time properly building a PC. We chose not to do water cooling as i didn't trust myself, and my boyfriend doesn't trust himself to do any sort of water cooling. So we both are going for all of the airflow possible. Also the smaller NVME SSD is for the operating system I'm hoping to get an suggestion on, and the bigger 2 TB NVME is for him to put games and other files one. Any and all tips on how to improve and even save money is greatly appreciated, more so in what operating system he should go with and what kind of monitor we should go with that is within 27". Any and all help suggestions to perhaps improve or make cheaper is very helpful! Thank you! P.S I'm jealous he gets to buy this beast while I'm stuck with my RX 580 and Ryzen 5 3600, but that's for another post when i choose to upgrade soon. Love you babe if you see this <3

Posting here to mainly make sure i am not making a really dumb mistake, been a while since i built a system. Please do point out any small detail i am missing. Budget (including currency): 4000$ (canadian rubles XD) Country: Canada Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Main games are Apex, League. Been also been playing around with Blender and Unity. Only need a full tower, basically a system that will serve me another 5 years. CPU: AMD R9 7900X Cooler: Noctua NH-D12L (seems like everywhere i look this is good enough) Motherboard: ASRock B650 ( no idea what to look for in motherboard) RAM: DDR5 4000-5000 (depends on what is on sale at the time) GPU: RTX 4080 or AMD 7900XTX (still on the fence) CASE: (basically anything that fits things in/ No RGB) POWER: 1000W corsair ( think this is enough) Storage: 1 TB M.2 (nothing special here) + some disk storage probably, got some internal hard drive already

Budget (including currency): $1500 USD, maybe up to $1800 if it makes a huge difference Country: USA Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Deep Rock Galactic, Hell Let Loose, WRC 10, DIRT Rally 2.0, Tarkov, ArcGIS Pro, Photoshop, Lightroom Other details: I have two 1440p monitors. One monitor is for gaming and day to day use that is 144hz and officially Freesync compatible, and unofficially G-Sync compatible (MSI Optix MAG271CQR). The other is a wide-gamut, color accurate display for color-sensitive work (EIZO ColorEdge CX271). I have a mouse and keyboard. I have an audio interface (M-Track 2x2) and studio monitors (KRK Rokit 5) for music, and headphones for gaming. My current rig is the Asus ROG GU501GM laptop. I have a 500gb boot drive and a 2tb SSD for storage, and 32gb of RAM. I'd like my desktop to have the same or better for storage and RAM. I'm hoping to build a desktop that I'll be able to use for gaming and work (GIS/remote sensing stuff) for the next many years. I'd like to be able to run my games at 1440p at a decent framerate (not less than 60fps hopefully). I'd also like a good CPU that doesn't get hung up or stutter under really heavy loads in ArcGIS Pro, Lightroom, and Photoshop. I'd also like to have good I/O, with 4 or more USB-A ports, an HDMI, an anything else that'll make it future-proof/ easy to upgrade. Oh, and Bluetooth and WIFI as well. I don't care tooooo much about how it looks, I care much more about keeping the price down and getting good components, as well as retaining upgradability for the future. I'd rather spend an extra $100-$200 and be really happy with my build than regret not getting something that makes my life easier/better. I am definitely open to buying used equipment, but I realize that that's something I'll need to hunt for on my own. I'm just unsure of what to look for currently. Thank you so much for reading my post!

Budget (including currency): $2000 hard stop but 1500 is what I am aiming for Country: USA Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: COD, WoW, streaming games from my xbox or P5 to twitch, Battlefield PC etc Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): Plan: CPU: Plan to get the Ryzen 5 7600 when it comes out Saturday GPU: Aiming to get a used 3080 off ebay Power Supply: RM750x (have already purchased) Case: NZXT H5 Flow (have already purchased) Storage: 1tb NVME samsung pro 980 and 1 tb samsung pro ssd (already purchased)(well purchased the NVME, and the ssd is from a previous build) RAM: I need assistance here. 16gb has been the standard for so long but with DDR5, should I go for a 32gb kit instead? Also as far as speed goes, should I get a 5200, 5600, 6000? MotherBoard: I am lost here as far as getting a good value for my MB. I want a solid AM5 board that will allow for a decent upgrade path. Also part of the reason I decided to go AM5 over intel despite being able to build a cheaper rig with intel. I am currently upgrading from a Ryzen 5 2600x, 1070ti, 16gb ram 3200 kit, 650w cooler master psu, and a cooler master case. I have two 4k monitors which I run off of my 1070Ti. Any help would be greatly appreciated as I try to make a few decisions ahead of Saturday's launch of the 7600

So I am going to buy a new pc, but I'm not sure that I can use all my pc case ports. I want your help to get everything I can out of my pc and not have worthless ports. I want it to feel like a pre build and not have "stuff" that doesn't work. If u want to know, I am going to use this pc for gaming and a little bit of streaming/youtube. I would like to stick with intel because this will be my first pc build and I don't want to make it hard on my self. Please And Thank You https://pcpartpicker.com/list/Jk4fZw Budget: 800€ Country: Latvia
