  1. Hello SO im making a new pc and here are my parts im going to use it for streaming recording and other stuff CPU: Intel i7 6700k GPU: Evga GTX 1080 HHD/SSD: 1x 255gb Samsung ssd, 1x 500gb samsung ssd, 1x 3 tb Segate PSU: Evga 600W Ram: 32gb Heres the pc part picker: https://nz.pcpartpicker.com/list/ Thanks!
  2. Hey, I made an earlier post about this build but this is a more refined list with a few updated parts compared to my last list. I would like to get some feedback about the build and if it would be worth the money. Parts list PCPartPicker part list: http://pcpartpicker.com/list/gLYYXH CPU: Intel Core i7-6700K 4.0GHz Quad-Core Processor CPU Cooler: Corsair H100i v2 70.7 CFM Liquid CPU Cooler Motherboard: Asus Z170-DELUXE ATX LGA1151 Memory: Corsair Vengeance LPX 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR4-3200 Memory Storage: Samsung 850 EVO-Series 500GB 2.5" Solid State Drive Storage: Western Digital BLACK SERIES 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive Video Card: EVGA GeForce GTX 1070 8GB SC Gaming ACX 3.0 Video Card (Superclocked) Case: Corsair 750D ATX Full Tower Case Power Supply: Cooler Master 750W 80+ Gold Certified Fully-Modular ATX Power Supply Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 Home Full - USB 32/64-bit Case Fan: Corsair CO-9050016-BLED 52.2 CFM 120mm Fans Case Fan: Corsair SP120 57.2 CFM 120mm Fan Total: $1789.15 My main uses for this device will be... Adobe Photoshop (working with quad HD possibly 4k Photography) Artrage Beamng.drive (Highest settings at 60fps) Subnautica (Highest settings at 60fps) Mafia 3 (Highest Settings) Gears Of War 4 (Highest Settings) Grand Theft Auto 5 (highest settings at 60fps) No Man's Sky (highest settings at 60fps) VR (Oculus rift/HTC vive in the future) Obviously I won't be using it for much. My biggest concern as far as CPU and GPU is for Beamng.drive, No Man's Sky, and Photoshop. I'm just trying to get the best performance without spending hellish amounts. Let me know what you think. Is this overkill or am I hitting all the right points. I am totally open to suggestions. Thanks.
  3. Hey y'all I'm a bit new to the whole LTT forum community so I think this is where my question/discussion belongs. I'm in the process of making a new computer rig for myself, some of this might be a tad overkill but like, what is 2k17 without RGB windows and overkill right? So, I'll list my computer parts, custom water cooling parts and that stuff. Now my question will be: Would this fit together? Will I get bottlenecks? Parts: Fractal Design Define S Black Window NZXT HUE+ Advanced PC Lightning BitFenix Alchemy 2.0 PSU Cable Kit, Blue / Black Asus STRIX Z270F GAMING, ATX, S1151, 4xDDR4 Intel I7 7700K 4,2GHZ Asus GeForce GTX 1080 Ti, 11GB, Strix OC Corsair HX1200 New, 1200, 80+ PLATINUM, Modulair Corsair Vengeance RGB 32GB(2x16GB) 3200MHZ x2 Samsung SSD 960 Pro 2TB, M.2 (Boot drive) Samsung SSD 850 Pro 500GB M.2 (Games and important stuff) Seagate Barracuda 4tb (Mass storage) Water cooling parts (All from EK waterblocks manufacturer): EK-CoolStream SE 240 (Slim Dual) EK-CoolStream PE 360 (Triple) EK-XTOP Revo D5 PWM EK-RES X3 250 RGB (Because, 2k17=RGB) EK-Supremacy EVO-Nickel EK-FC1080 GTX Ti STRIX - Nickel EK-FC1080 GTX Ti Strix Backplate - Black EK-CryoFuel Navy Blue Concentrate 100 mL x2 EK-ATX Bridging Plug (24 pin) (Testing purposes) EK-Cable Y-Splitter 3-Fan PWM (10cm) (For the triple rad fans) EK-Cable Y-Splitter 2-Fan PWM (10cm) (For the dual rad fans) EK-HD Tube D.I.Y. Picture of my current idea for the water to flow: https://imgur.com/a/cbiIM ( Yes I am aware I have no fans yet, because I have NO idea of which to get tbh :/)
  4. So long story short I've decided to build an extreme high end AMD Threadripper system, and have begun buying parts bit by bit to achieve this goal. This will be my first ever PC build, and I want to make it as balls to the walls as is humanly possible. And since I am (obviously) A glutton for punishment, I put together a partslist for this monster so that you may all revel in my lack of ability to manage money. Also it should go without saying that if any of you can point me to a place where I can buy/ sell me any parts for cheap that would be greatly appreciated. 6. It seems overkill but he is a doctor running multiple intensive programs at once. I also want to do light gaming when I go to his house. https://pcpartpicker.com/user/JdogBaconMan/saved/BQmHxr
  7. I am currently looking at this: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01MAW2294/?tag=10beasts-20&th=1 Are there any options that are easier to find in Norway, preferable to the borderline of overkill to the point were its barely legal! ^3^ Edit: The concrete is fire proof and very good at blocking wifi.
  8. I know that this production PC is probably 'old hat' at this point, but is it just me or does anyone know if there are benchmarks out for the awesome looking 8pack Orion X PC? This item comes at a monster premium of over £25K (without optional extras), I suppose it is no surprise that there is little performance data about this machine anywhere on the inter-pipe. I'm just curious, but wouldn't it be completely awesome if the Linus Tech team managed to get their hands on one of these bad boys and see just how over powered it actually is? Would be really interesting to see just how well it handles the usual modicum of day to day computing and gaming tasks, does any one have any ideas about how you would go about pushing this thing to its limits? if this is possible please can Linus review one of these, https://www.overclockers.co.uk/8pack-orionx-dual-pc-extreme-overclocked-pc-intel-core-i7-6950x-and-intel-core-i7-7700k-fs-006-8p.html?sAction=rating#votecontainer Tfist out,

  10. So I've done some crazy upgrades over the years but ones in a blue moon one comes around that knocks me on my ass. A customer came in and ordered an ASUS Strix GTX1080ti, EVGA 600 Watt PSU and a new case (Corsair 200R) with the intent to have use move his old P8P67-M Pro Motherboard, 8GBs of DDR3-10600 and balling i5-2400 into. As an aside he also had a failing HDD full of Viruses that we had to clone then clean to get working... WTF? That's over $1,000 of Hardware plus the Labor charge he's paying for the work... The word Bottleneck is REAL with this one wholly balls!!! He said he's going to try out some VR stuff and his tech friend told him he needed a better GPU so he went with the best. When we told him he should upgrade his whole system and get a new CPU, Motherboard and RAM he said he wasn't allowed to spend any more. If he had an i5-2500k with good cooling to OC the balls off of it he'd still be choking the 1080ti...

  13. I thinking to use a i5-7500 and Gtx 1060 with a Asus b250f ROG Strix Gaming Motherboard, So, is b250f Strix motherboard a overkill for i5 7500 and Asus Gtx 1060 3gb Dual.
  14. I am prepared to buy either a gtx 1070 or 1080. I own a 1440p 60 hz monitor with no plan to upgrade the monitor. Should I buy a 1070 and save some money or buy a 1080 and get the extra longevity as games become increasingly demanding. My goal would be to get high/ultra detail on AAA for the next 3 years. Thoughts?
  15. Dear LTT forum. I just recieved a call from a friend, whos boss is looking into an editing PC, since his speced out mac doesn't do the job. He wants to be able to edit 6K raw footage as smoothly and as fast as possible. I don't know much about high end tear of PC components, that's why I'm writing this post. 1. Budget & Location He's location is in Austria/Germany. So please use German PCPP. As far as for the budget, he isn't really concerned about the money. When my friend asked me, what do I think PC will cost, I said probably around 10 000€. Is this too low or too much? But really. He doesn't care for the money (as strange as it is). 2. Aim As I previously stated, he wants to be able to edit 6K raw footage in real life if possible, if not, as fast as it gets. 3. Monitors For now he is asking only for PC, without monitors. He'll just probably buy bunch of high end 4,6 or even 8K monitors. 4. Peripherals Not needed (same reason as for monitor) 5. Why are you upgrading? His speced out mac couldn't handle editing 6K footage. I know it's seems weird and fake, but it's not. I could just go to PCPP and chosen the most expensive configuration, but that doesn't guarantee the best performance. That's why I need your help. Thanks in advance. EDIT: I totally forgot. Since he bought tons of lacie drives with thunderbolt, is there any way that you could use that drives on this pc? Is there any PCI extension thunderbolt cards?
  16. Hej, so i have recently started thinking of my new setups monitors, i want a nice setup where i could use AMD's Eyefinity for a wider screen. i was thinking of buying three 1920x1080 monitors and putting em in eyefinity. but then i was thinking about the 2560x1080 monitors. so the thing was with the 2560x1080 that i could make a perfectly curved setup with little borders between. I'll just list the cons and pros of both setups i have come up with. 1920x1080x3 Cons: can't make a perfect curve of them, will be a hard angle. Diagonal at 21.5" height is about 25 cm (~10") Pros: 1ms response is 130 euros. refresh rate 75Hz 2560x1080x3 Cons: lowest Response time was 4ms at the price of 500 euros... 5ms cheapest is 400 euros, without curved screen i could get a 5ms for 244 euros Different power input on the screen, hard to get hands on. (this is a problem due to my cat, he likes him some of that wire from the PC) Pros: Diagonal at 29" Height is about 35 cm (~13.75") Ultra thin edge help me choose the perfect monitor set up, thank you in advance. PS. I'm from a quite isolated country when it comes to online component buying, so no newegg or amazon sales will help me reduce the price. Editto: If you're worried about the hard ware. then worry no more, it a beast i can tell you, it could handle the 3 monitors with ease.
  17. Hello everyone, im building my first pc and ive choosen my gpu: MSI R7 370 armor 2x. https://www.msi.com/Graphics-card/R7-370-2GD5T-OC.html#hero-overview Im kinda new to pc, had not own a working setup for since 2010. I dont really understand monitor and gpu compatibilty. I own this LG L1753S http://www.lg.com/au/it-monitors/lg-L1753S-SF-monitor monitor from my no longer working setup. my question is, is this gpu overkill for the monitor? am i just wasting money on the gpu? Btw if it is an overkill, Im probably going to buy a new monitor, so can anyone help me understand what i need to know when buying a new monitor? thanks a detailed answer is very much appreciated

  20. Hello guys! 23. what if Linus made an overkill water cooling setup with like 4 480mm radiators, a 400mm reservoir, and a Maximus XI Formula all to cool just a Core i3 8350K running integrated graphics.

  25. This Build is just an idea but let me decompose it: ***CLICK HERE FOR : PC part picker Page *** ----Specs:---- -it has the AMD TR 3970x (32c @ 3.7Ghz) Inside the socket of an "Asus Zenith II Extreme" MoBo Paired with 256 GB of ram (DDR4-3200) and TWO Titan RTX (24GB) All cooled with a Corsair HyperX water-cooling (2* 480 Rads in the front, 1*420 rad in the top & 2* LL120 exhaust fans (all fans are LL *** RGB from Corsair)) Inside the Beautiful Corsair 1000D ----Storage:---- 1* Intel Optane 905P (1.5TB) for the system, Apps & Games & the Always used Videos and templates (Intros, Music and sound effects, PNGs and all kind of stuff you will use frequently through all your videos) 4* Seagate IronWolf 16TB (hooked to the SYBA 8 port Raid card to configure them in raid 10 for a total of 32 TB of Archival Storage) 2*Samsung Evo 860 PRO 4TB (in software raid0) 4* Corsair MP600 2TB inside the Asus Hyper M.2 PICe expansion card (for scratch and Media for the active Projects giving 8TB at 15GB/s speed for up to about 8 hours of 8k red footage (red code 5:1 24fps 8k full format)). ----MORE AIO:---- 1*Gigabyte GC-titan Ridge thunderbolt 3 PICe card( for extra connectivity and more functionality eg: hooking up a ProDisplay XDR) ----PSU:---- All powered By a 1600W corsair 80+ Titanium PSU ----WHO THE FUCK IS IT FOR---- It is basically speaking for no one, it just an overkill idea that can handle editing the highest quality footage, Gaming at the highest fps and Ultra settings And combining all what can PCs do in a single Machine ----SOME COMMENTS---- -I didn't use any of the five m.2 slots on the MoBo since the PCI lanes will already be occupied with all of the expansion cards and the GPUs. ----THE DREAM WORKFLOW---- -after shooting a lot of none-sense footage on the RED 8k CCam u come back home to offload all the footage in the Samsung Evo SSDs while that happens in the background you play some random game after that when u decide to finally edit you copy all of your needed footage into the insanely fast raid0 m.2 drives and start editing hopefully with no limitation or bottlenecks (a very good CPU, GPU hardware acceleration, very fast storage and enough ram) u export all the files then put'em in the SSDs if u will need them soon or dump then in the HHDs for storage (not forever if u will use this much storage eventually you will have a storage server with high capacity which can eliminate all of the HDDs and their raid card) finally, you will enjoy great HDR 10-bit videos on the apple ProDisplay XDR hooked to the thunderbolt3 card. then off to sleep and rewind all... pretty crazy ideas, Maybe Linus will think to test this build... hopefully EDIT (YES I'm A Asus , Samsung and Corsair Fan Boy)
