I've been helping a buddy fix his PC issues for about 2 weeks now, and despite all of my tech knowledge and additional troubleshooting, we cannot seem to crack the case. BACKGROUND The PC is relatively new, bought new from Origin PC. It worked great for some time, and only recently started freezing. We did a fresh OS install after various very consistent issues (BSOD constantly, fixes not working, etc), hoping that would resolve the issues - no luck. We were getting DPC WATCHDOG VIOLATION errors on our BSOD, so we very much thought it to be an external drive, but those have been removed and freezing persists (though not sure if it's the watchdog violation due to no BSOD). We've replaced a dated mouse and headset, removed those drives from the equation, still no luck. Bold = changed after this post was made Fresh OS install (Windows 10, from the Origin flash drive) BIOS updated to latest version, from a nearly 2 year old version. All drivers completely up to date SSDs have been checked using Samsung Magician software Origin software provided for troubleshooting, testing CPU, GPU, RAM, etc - all passed with no errors SFC Disabling unused audio output devices Checked Windows Event Viewer various times (nothing critical or seemingly related until AFTER the freeze) Checked Windows task scheduler for leads pertaining to the time range of freezes (see below) Disabled Wifi adaptor (wired ethernet, so unused - modem / router is Comcast latest default, same as mine) And More™! Despite the above, we're still encountering a HARD freeze (no BSOD even after minutes) every 2-3 days on average. Oddly enough, the freezes are happening between 4-9AM, roughly, but nothing concrete. I thought it might be X hours after no use, but that isn't lining up either. User does not have PC sleep EVER, displays don't even turn off, so no sleep / hibernation related issues, at least on an OS level (could a device be nodding out after 8~ hours of no use?). SPECS Case: Corsair 5000X Processors: AMD Ryzen 9 5950X 16-Core 3.4GHz (4.9GHz Max Boost) Motherboard: Gigabyte X570 AORUS Elite WiFi Memory: 64GB CORSAIR VENGEANCE RGB PRO 3200MHz (2x32GB) System Cooling: CORSAIR H100i PRO XT RGB System Fans: ORIGIN PC Maximum Fan Kit Graphics Cards: NVIDIA 8GB GeForce RTX 3070 Operating System: MS Windows 10 Home Operating System Drive: 1TB Samsung 970 EVO Plus NVMe M.2 RAID : No RAID Hard Drive: 500GB Samsung 860 EVO Series Power Supply: CORSAIR RM850 SERIES PLUS GOLD PSU Power Supply WHAT NOW? So the PC hard froze at 5AM, as well as 8AM today, after 2.5 days of no freezing (this seems to the cycle after all the above updates), heavy use (gaming, work, on 24/7). I strongly feel this 5-8AM range is some sort of lead, but I don't want to get hung up on it. The WATCHDOG VIOLATION error isn't showing up anymore since there's no BSOD, so I'm not sure if that has been corrected, or persisting in a different state. Any leads great appreciated, and with any luck, we'll fix this up and I'll learn something new! UPDATES The PC crashed at 5AM, and 8AM today - the second crash while in use, in the middle of typing. This rules out periods of inactivity being an issue. See final post, ISSUE ERESOLVED! DxDiag-Tass-0523.txt

She hasn't played in a while, but trying to login, Origin said it couldn't find the account. She also disappeared from my friends list. She never bought a game, but she had a big library because of the On The House program. We contacted support and they said they couldn't do anything about it. She still had the welcome email but they said it didn't help.

I am having issues launching games and modifying program files on my computer. I can run Discord, Steam, Origin, and Epic game clients, but cannot launch any games associated to them. All of them give me the "[insert name here] has stopped responding" error message. I have tried to uninstall applications to try to see if I have a misbehaving app, and the uninstall clients all stop responding, and has also given me this error with trying to use the "Reset this PC" in the windows recovery menu. I am unsure of what is causing the issue. I rolled back a recent windows update which didn't help; ran the sfc scan tool in command prompt which fixed some files which fixed some corrupted files, but not the root cause of my problems; and did a deep scan of my computer for viruses and malware using AVG. I also tried to download another anti-malware (malwarebytes) to try and fix this and even the installer gives me the same error. I am at a loss, any help please? I have included images of some of the apps that have run into this error. Hey guys, I'm having a problem with Origin. And what infuriates me most is, is that this problem only affects 2 of my games that require Origin (Star Wars Battlefront 2 and Dead Space 3 respectively). The rest of the games I have that requires Origin to work, works without problems. These 2 games REFUSE to boot/start and to add insult to injury, sometimes via some miracle the games work but then the next time I try to play the game, once again the games refuse to boot... I don't know what I should do anymore. Keep in mind, that I launch all of them from Steam and not Origin itself. What could I do to solve this? Things I've tried: Reinstalling the games Verifying game files Running the EXEs with admin rights Deleting specific things like deleting shader caches, etc and verifying the game files afterwards. Thanks in advance for the help! Kind Regards PrimeSteak

I moved titanfall2 from my external drive to my internal game drive today. I had stored it on the external drive months ago as backup. After verifying the game files I can't seem to launch the game. The orange "Play" button is gone and instead I get "Details" button and clicking on it does not produce any option to launch the game. I can't even download the game via the client, that option is gone too. What the hell is going on? My pc froze a few times during game files (Windows 10 go fuck yourself). So I had to sign out of Windows. I want to play this Legendary shooter, man.

Hello there, I recently decided to give Geforce Now a try. And i'm mostly happy with how games works, you get some input lag but its playable, especially with more "sightseeing" or "non rapid-response" type of games. What i'm not so glad about, is lack of support. I have linux PC now (along side the Windows laptop) and more than a houndred non-steam games. And gues what? You don't have official support for GFN on linux and most of the games is supported only via steam. You can have for example Witcher 3 bought on GOG, which won't work on Geforce Now while steam version is supported. Same with Tomb Rider or Divinity original sin I & II, metro, etc. If you're tech savy enough, you can make some of those hings work. It's not the same as official support thou and it's no thans to Nvidia. There are some threads devoted to those topics on Nvidia forum: About Linux: https://www.nvidia.com/en-us/geforce/forums/gfn-general-chat/20/303146/geforce-now-on-linux/ About "multistore" support: https://www.nvidia.com/en-us/geforce/forums/user/762738/432128/gog-origin-uplay-and-other-non-steam-game-versions/ I ask You for opinion and support. Leaving your imput on those threads may help to get some attention. I'm not counting on raid or anything ... but it would be kind of awesome.

In case you weren't aware, which I'm guessing you weren't, Titanfall 2 (by far my favorite FPS game - hence my PFP) is on sale for $5 on Origin right now, as opposed to the normal $20 price tag. It's already totally worth the money at full price, but for $5 it's an absolute steal. You can pick it up on origin here, or get a redeemable code off of Amazon for the same price. It's definitely worth checking out if you haven't had the chance. The timing of the game's release was a bit unfortunate, with it mostly flying under the radar due to it being released at the same time as Battlefield 1. However, even 4 years after release, the game still has a very dedicated fanbase, and you can typically queue into a match in less than 30 seconds. The gameplay is fast and exhilarating, and even when you lose it's still very fun. The community is very nice, and I've never come across a single toxic player in a game. In addition to extremely fun multiplayer modes, the game has an amazing (albeit a bit short) campaign. I would actually recommend playing through the campaign in its entirety before even touching the multiplayer side of things. It will help you get used to the different gameplay mechanics. If you ignore this and decide not to get the game while it's on sale, then whatever. I tried my best. But if you're the least bit interested, or are wanting a new, fun FPS experience, give the game a shot. It's only $5. After all, who doesn't like wallrunning and piloting giant mech robots. I'll see you in a match sometime soon hopefully!

Hey guys, How's it going? I'm going AMD in a few days. That means new motherboard, new processor, new everything except my ssd and hdd. (I'm giving my current build to my little brother as a birthday present) When I got my current build, I installed a lot of programs (like steam, origin, uplay, amazon games, minecraft, riot games) on D drive (1Tb HDD) instead of C (500Gb SSD) thinking that I would be able to do clean installs of windows on C drive without having to download all my programs again. However, now that I think about it I'm not sure that my programs are going to work right off the bat. Do you think that steam and other apps will launch without any compability problems? Or should I backup everything on an external drive using steam's backup and restore feature ?

I am not having a good time with customer support over at EA Help/Contact EA I have plenty of emails (+100) saying there has been a sign in from WEB in a spand of 6, 7 months... Hi Guys, Weird one, my girlfriend just bought sims4 and some expansions via Origin on her windows gaming laptop. She wants to install the sims on her macbook to, but when she goes to her libary and selects Sims, it says that origin acces is not available on mac. Okay fair enough, but she just wants to install the game, nothing special imo. I've added some screenshots so you guys have a visual. It'll be awesome if someone knows a fix or anything. Thanks in advance!

I've just spent 30 minutes re-securing my email and origin account. Changing codes on my 2FA, passwords for my email and origin. The reason: I got an email saying that Origin Access accepted my code for a one month sub. The only problem? I didn't do it. Ironically (read unsurprisingly), the link in the email to cancel OA doesn't let you cancel, only change subscription type and billing. So I started the long drawn and complicated process of trying to contact EA and make sure that if I was hacked, to cancel all subs and payments. Then all of a sudden, at the bottom of the page I was reading... instructions about your free month of OA. FFS, they could have said it was a free gift, now how the hell do I get back 30 minutes of my life, spent wasted trawling their crappy system trying to find WTF is going on.

Hello all, So I just freshly installed my pc and added a 1 TB SSD to my system. Now I want to install all my games on that 1 TB SSD D drive, but the question is where do I install the game launchers like Steam and Origin? Should I put those on the C drive and create a path to the 1 TB SSD D drive to install the games there or install the launchers as well on the 1 TB SSD D drive? Would one of the options have any benefit or does it not matter? Greetings, Relph

Hi! After installing a fresh batch of Pop!_OS on my desktop (specs below), I came to an issue with logging into Origin as it showed the "Online login is unavailable" bar after installing it on Lutris (newest version) (Wine is installed). I tried using updateorigin.sh through the Terminal, but didn't change the situation. (Other games seem to be running fine on Lutris and Steam) I tried searching the Pop!_OS subreddit along with a bit of googling, also no help. Help? ? PC Specs: i5-7500 @ 3.4 GHz, Quad-core MSI H110M PRO-D, BIOS up to date HyperX 8GB DDR4-2133 CL14-14-14 (Single module) (HX421C14FB/8) MSI GTX 1050 Ti OC 4GT Be Quiet! Pure Power 9 500W Transcend SSD230S 128GB WD Blue 1TB (HDD) OS: Pop!_OS 64-bit, Gnome version 3.32.2, drivers seem to be up to date.

Hey all! So I'm currently in the market for a second laptop. I already own a Lenovo Legion Y530 and it works well. However, I'm wanting something more powerful for my second machine. I was looking at the Origin EVO 16-S, but then I noticed that the Sager NP8966 NOTEBOOK uses the same Clevo chasis. The prices are ridiculously different, too. Base model price (at the time of writing): Sager: $1549 500gb SSd 16gb RAM (Dual Channel I think?) 144 hz 16.1" display Rtx 2060 9th gen i7 9750H Origin: $1824 240gb SSd 8gb RAM single Channel 144 hz 16.1" display Rtx 2060 9th gen it 9750H There is a pretty obvious Origin tax. Is there any reason on God's green earth that someone would pick Origin over Sager for that kind if a premium? (Customer service aside) I've owned a Sager laptop in the past and LOVED it. I'm fairly comfortable applying quality thermal paste and making sure everything on the inside of the laptop is plugged in properly (like WiFi cards, keyboard ribbons, etc) so that doesn't worry me. Also, I think it would be very interesting if LMG made a video on this topic in detail. I legit want to know if there's any value in paying a brand tax like this. Thanks!

please read all details as i am fairly experienced and have likely already tried a run-of-the-mill troubleshooting suggestion that you may have off the top of your head. specs: R9 Fury X, water cooled i7-4790K CPU, 16GB DDR3 RAM, 144hz ASUS monitor. i have benchmarked this PC to hell and back and i know that in battlefield 1 on ultra, my fps never dips below the high 70's - low 80's at it's absolute worst. same exact benchmark with star wars battlefront 2. in battlefield v, the fps never dips below these same numbers on high settings. about a week ago i noticed some subtle issues with my gaming pc. battlefield v, battlefield 1, and star wars battlefront 2 were running dipping 15-20fps lower than usual, and sometimes in graphically busy areas, the fps seemed much lower than what was displayed on the counter (70-80 fps felt more like 40fps). i tried benchmarking GTA V to see if this was happening outside of origin games, and it was. GTA also felt choppier and was hitting 15-20 fps lower than usual in demanding areas. i have tried every possible software and hardware related fix, EVER. i have: rolled back AMD drivers to previous versions reinstalled graphics drivers with DDU formatted D drive where games were installed factory reset the entire PC updated mobo BIOS to the latest version air dusted all PC internals (got a lot of dust out, too) overclocked CPU by 15% made sure power settings were set to high performance here's a few strange things i noticed after some experimenting. the fps drops come and go. there have been 3 different times now where i thought i had finally fixed the issue. then the next day or a few hours later, the fps drops would return again. i tested my hardware on userbenchmark and all hardware scored a 90% or above. both CPU and GPU temps reported via MSI afterburner are excellent. GTA V runs fine after a fresh bootup. however, once BF1, BFV, or battlefront starts having fps issues, GTA also has fps loss upon trying the game afterwards. after shutting down the PC for about 10 minutes, GTA appears to run fine again. however, restarting the computer or shutting down and turning it back on again too quickly does not get rid of fps issues. i thought that the fps might be getting worse overtime during each gaming session, but that does not appear to be the case. after leaving GTA on for an hour after a fresh bootup, i came back to still find no fps issues. battlefront was also running butter smooth today, barely dipping below 100fps in a huge map on all high settings. however, upon turning the settings to ultra (my usual setting), the game freaked out and started hitting 50-60fps. this caused GTA's fps to decrease upon launching it after battlefront, and the problems would not reside until i shut the PC down for 10 minutes. i want to say it's a hardware issue but that wouldn't make sense. if hardware was damaged, the games would be performing terribly or not performing at all, instead of underperforming by 15-20fps like mine is. also, it shouldn't be performing fine sometimes and sometimes not, as i've described above. technology should be binary: it either works or it doesn't. however, i don't see how it could possibly be a software issue either, as i've rolled back and reinstalled graphics drivers before nuking the entire PC with a full factory reset (and even updated BIOS) which should solve any software conflicts. if it was an optimization issue specifically with the origin games, then why would it be causing fps loss in GTA, a steam game? i'm completely stumped. i've solved countless performance issues in the past but i actually don't see how this is even possible.

So i bought Need for speed undercover becuase i used to play it as a child on playstation 2. However this time on my computer. i bought a key cheap and got into origin and redeemed the key. I got the game and it was downloaded. I open it and was gonna make a name for my new game. I did that clicked on it and the loading screen froze. I did hear what sounded like a wind in the game but nothing loaded. The effects shown whilst the game loaded was not moving. And i couldnt do anything. I have a amd gpu and cpu if that matters. None of the things that i tried worked. So i wanted to see if anyone here knows how to fix it. I got a 64x system. And the gane is from 2008.

can't install any games because origin says click yes when uac pops up when downloading. no solutions work that are available online so i tried debugging it myself and it seems to be related to qtwebengineprocess. the debug file in origin says [0210/130112:WARNING:resource_bundle_qt.cpp(114)] locale_file_path.empty() for locale what can I do about this? I don't think its a file permission issue. the backend software cant communicate with my file directory.
