I am currently debating about either going with the Intel X series of KabbyLake or the AMD Threadripper. I have always gone with Intel. So it is really a hard debate for me!!! Can't wait to see what your thoughts are!

Hey folks Since the Ryzen lineup got announced, have I been wanting to upgrade my old rig: i5 2xxk (Cant remember the excact number) R9 380X sapphire nitro edition some 24gigs of ddr3 RAM I'm buying: Ryzen 1700 16g of DDR4 Ram The new gigabyte b350 MB A new SSD with 250 something However... I am in doubt regarding which monitor i want. I want something bigger than 24 inches. I want the design of a "sleek" Samsung Monitor. I dont need a 4k monitor. However if my new rig can handle 1440p then i want that. I would be happy if it could have over 100htz and 1 or 4ms in response. Freesync would obviously also be optimal since its an AMD rig I am in doubt because of the new VEGA card. Ofcourse i want one. But it sounded like Samsung is making a new monitor designed for VEGA cards with Freesync 2.0 if thats true, would it be smarter to wait for the announcement or are the new upgrades not that noticable? I might be buying the new rig without the VEGA card. Should i just buy a big 27/32 inches curved Samsung monitor? wait for the new lineup of monitors or do you have some other brand of monitors that would be fine? I would prefer a Samsung monitor since they have great build quality and a somewhat simple metallic design. I love to game but i do not want a ROG/Predator annihilator big laser show monitor. Kind regards Joakim

Hello! I have put together a list of parts for a new computer that I will be building soon and would love if anyone could maybe tweak or give their thoughts and opinions on parts that I have chosen. Thank you :^) https://pcpartpicker.com/user/Burntmuffinz/saved/N9pt6h - (PcPartPicker.com is where I made my list and I tried checking the parts myself just in case to see if it was all compatible and from what I found it seemed to work fine 1. Budget & Location- I would prefer to stay fairly close to around $2000 USD (U.S. location obviously). 2. Aim- I am mostly looking to use this computer for playing the latest games such as Destiny 2, PUBG, Nier Automata, and heavily modding older games such as Skyrim, Fallout 4, and so on. 3. Monitors- Currently, I use a BENQ XL2420Z (discontinued http://www.benq.us/product/monitor/xl2420z) and I will be using this monitor on my new build as I planned on using a display port cable to take advantage of the monitors 144Hz refresh rate but that seems to be causing issues for some people on other forums so I may switch to a 144Hz Asus monitor in the future. (Will not be using more than one monitor in the future). 4. Peripherals- I have a ROCCAT ISKU keyboard and some weird Team Scorpion mouse??? and I would prefer to upgrade to the keyboard and mouse included in my parts list buy it is not that big of a deal I guess. I will also need Microsoft Windows 10 Home OEM 64-bit. 5.Why are you upgrading- I am choosing to upgrade because my current computer is rocking some questionable parts and is roughly 6 years old and it's time to start looking for an upgrade. (All of my drivers and other things are updated currently but I would just love to upgrade at this point thanks). I don't exactly know if I had to exactly type this all out like this but the read me thing said I did so I thought I might as well :^). Also one other thing this is the first time I have put together a list on my own and plan on building it myself as for the computer I am using as of now is a pre-built overpriced mistake I made a long time ago. -----sry for it being so long :^)-----

What would be your preference between the two units for an overclocked, 6-8 core pc? Just looking for opinions.

This is ny first time building a pc, and i was thinking of buying a Gaming rig this Christmas. I’m sick of my trashy Gaming APU Prebuilt pc so i thought i’d step it up a notch and build it myself, and have room for upgradability. So i sold my old pc and gathered up to 650 to get a mid tier gaming rig that i can also use for my school work. Assembling it shouldn’t really be a problem since i have YT. Here is a link to the parts list, however i still need to find a cheap ddr4 8gb memory or 2 4gb. I’d like this to reach at least 60fps on overwatch , 40ish on PubG i am willing to lower some settings but i’d like a 1080p experience mostly. And maybe be able to hit close to 60fps on some Call Of duty/ FPS games. Tell me if any parts are bad/ i should swap out. Thanks! Also i own a 2TB HDD that i’m gonna use in this build so i wont need one pc build: https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/user/MinkHD/saved/jZz6XL

Ok so i made an account at creative market, and so far it looks good however i cant seem to get passed the tax info page, since you need to have that submitted to sell products its kind've important it wont let me submit the infor because one of the fields "isnt" filled in, its asking me to fill in the 'printed name' field on the last part of the form but it is filled in

here are the lists: https://pcpartpicker.com/user/dav1dn0/saved/#view=Z8HCJx I would like opinions on the lists I have and not other builds (but if you have both then please do share them). my budget is around 650 dollars. the main use of the pc will be gaming and my most played game is minecraft.

I'm looking to upgrade to a x99 platform, trying to keep the costs down until I can upgrade more later. With that said I've found a gigabyte x99 ud4 for 73$ seems pretty ridiculously cheap. Does anyone have any experience with this board that can attest to its reliability, or ability to OC? The board is assumed working. From reputable retailer.

Happy Christmas! https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/list/w3HV2R "why does this plonker have a i7 6700k in a h110 mobo?" It's cheaper than i7 6700 (non-k) at CeX. Second Hand Parts (from CeX) - i7 6700k (£205) - 2 sticks of ram (£50) - Sandisk Extreme Pro SSD (£90) Everything else from CCL/Amazon what do you think? is it compatible? is it peng?

Hi! so I am planing out a future build and just wanted to know what you think about it. it is for computer animation and modelling as well as heavy gaming so it had to be a all round beast of a computer. price is no issue with this computer so if there is a part you think would work better then feel free to let me know! here is the part picker list https://ca.pcpartpicker.com/user/TArthur99/saved/F9b23C EDIT: new parts list https://ca.pcpartpicker.com/list/9srwD8 decided against the Titan X, I don't think the price is worth the marginally better performance. I could get two 1080s for the price of one pascal Titan X

Okay so I've decided I want to downscale my PC to Mini-ITX form-factor. I've been doing research on the parts and have finally come up with a selection that I am happy with. I just need you guys out there to validate what I have chosen. This is the part selection... CPU: Intel Xeon E3-1230 V3 3.3GHz Quad-Core Processor (Purchased For £205.80) CPU Cooler: Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO 82.9 CFM Sleeve Bearing CPU Cooler (Purchased For £25.95) MOBO: ASRock H97M-ITX/AC Mini ITX LGA1150 Motherboard (£89.99 @ Amazon UK) RAM: Kingston Savage 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR3-1600 Memory (Purchased For £108.03) Storage: Kingston SSDNow V300 Series 240GB 2.5" Solid State Drive (Purchased For £74.19) Storage: Western Digital Caviar Blue 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive (Purchased For £40.99) Video Card: MSI GeForce GTX 980 4GB Twin Frozr Video Card (Purchased For £388.97) Case: Fractal Design Core 500 Mini ITX Desktop Case (£45.46 @ Amazon UK) Power Supply: Corsair RM 850W 80+ Gold Certified Fully-Modular ATX Power Supply (Purchased For £99.95) Optical Drive: LG GH24NSD1 DVD/CD Writer (£15.86 @ Amazon UK) Case Fan: Noctua NF-F12 PWM 55.0 CFM 120mm Fan (£15.48 @ Ebuyer) Case Fan: Noctua NF-F12 PWM 55.0 CFM 120mm Fan (£15.48 @ Ebuyer) Case Fan: Noctua NF-A14 ULN 140mm Fan (£19.26 @ Amazon UK) Case Fan: Noctua NF-A14 ULN 140mm Fan (£19.26 @ Amazon UK) Case Fan: Noctua NF-A14 ULN 140mm Fan (£19.26 @ Amazon UK) Other: LG 22M47VQ 22" LED Monitor (£96.99) Other: LG 22M47VQ 22" LED Monitor (£96.99) Total: £1351.96 Total (Not Yet Purchased): £434.03 For the new parts, I cannot spend over £450. I'm spending £200 on new monitors (I need them for my photography), I want premium fans for both my case and the CM Hyper 212 EVO that I already own. I'm restricted on the MOBO as this is basically all I can find without gambling on Ebay (which I am definitely am not doing). The case looks like the best option for me with the design being small enough for me when I'm either travelling or going to LAN parties. The optical drive is a luxury because I want to start using disks as an inefficient and outdated was of keeping my memories. So yeah. Any help is appreciated. Also... I'm not selling my whole system to build a new one. This is what I'm allowed to do. Thanks, Callum

1. Budget & Location U.S. under $2,000 excluding GPU 2. Aim 50% Video/Audio editing, 2D CAD, 50% Gaming 3. Monitors 2 monitors. 1 @ time of build then adding another one later. won't run them any higher than 1440p. High refresh rates (over 100mhz) 4. Peripherals I have my preferred peripherals already picked out. Running windows 10 5. Why are you upgrading? old PC specs: MOBO: ASUS Maximus IV Gene-Z Processor: I5 - 2500k RAM: Corsair Vengeance Blue 16 GB DDR3 SDRAM 1600mhz PSU: Can't remeber brand, 750w Gold certified. Non modular. SSD/HDD: Intel 530 240GB ssd, 1TB western digital blue series HDD GPU: Asus Strix 1060 6GB OC Case: Cooler Master HAF ATX Mid Tower Case (Black) New Build: MOBO: GIGABYTE X570 AORUS Elite Processor: Ryzen 7 3700X, AIO: NZXT Kraken X62 280mm RAM: G.SKILL TridentZ RGB Series 32GB 3200mhz PSU: Corsair HXi Series, HX850i, 850 Watt,Platinum Certified, Fully Modular SSD: Samsung 960 PRO 1TB SSD PCIe NVMe M.2 (Boot drive), Samsung SSD 860 EVO 1TB 2.5 Inch SATA III x2 (mass storage) GPU: Asus Strix 2070 8GB OC Case: CORSAIR Carbide 270R Mid-Tower Case The main goal of this new build would be a system that can handle anything i can throw at it without hesitation. I do some pretty basic 2D CAD for work, nothing too demanding there. I'm currently becoming very interested in character and level design for animation and video games, but not even close to a novice level on this. I currently edit video and audio for youtube/ podcasts and the rendering times are getting to be horribly long on my current PC. I game a lot when i can and want a PC that can handle most games on high or ultra settings in 1440p. Just wondering if this build is way off for my needs or am i closer than i think?

Hello, Im currently in a little dilemma. I plan on doing another build for my girlfriends son and giving him my old 1800x. I only game and do recording/highlights, would a 3600 make sense, or would I be better of with a 3700x. I plan on gaming on 1440p 144hz/ I use a 1080Ti. Edit: I dont do much streaming. Maybe once in awhile.

Hi people in the LTT forum! I'm hobby photographer who likes to do alot of stuff under low ligth conditions. especially when it comes to shooting the milkyway, i get into some trouble. im shooting with Canon 80D, a solid DSLR but it has a cropped Sensor. i know the lens is very if not more important for doing such things but still, most videos/vlogger/tutorials tell me that cropped sensor just arent as good in low ligt as a Full frame sensor. Especially when bumping up the ISO above 3200, the 80D starts to look kinda crappy. Does anyone have expierence shooting stars or low light in generall with the 6D mark II Does it make sense to sell the 80D to get a 6D mark II, wich according to reviews shouldbe really good in low light conditions.

I'm a first-time builder looking for advice and opinions on the parts I've chosen. I'm currently working on building a desktop PC that will primarily be used for gaming, live-streaming, and video editing. I want to be able to live-stream at 1080p at 60fps while making full use of programs, and plan to edit video footage starting at 1080p but potentially moving up in resolution in the future to as much as 4k. I also want to have the capability to do 3D modeling and design work in the future, as that's something I have interest in doing. I have two old office-type 1080p monitors at the moment, but I'd like to upgrade one of them in the future to a higher-refresh 1440p or above monitor. My total budget for this build is about $1,300 USD; this is about the highest I can justify going at the moment. My ideal aesthetic is monochrome black and white with few highlights. I believe I've covered everything I'll need below, but if there may be cables or items I haven't considered. I'm really just looking to make sure everything I have will go together well and work before I buy. As I don't yet have the experience to know a lot of this stuff on my own, I'm hoping to find help here. If anyone has revisions they think would be more optimal for my core parts or information I might not know, please let me know! Any help would be appreciated. ? Here's what I have so far (pcpartpicker list here): For my CPU, I've chosen the Ryzen 7 3700X. From my research, it seems to provide more than enough power for anything I'd regularly throw at it while still having enough in reserve for multitasking and running future programs. It's a recent and very well-rounded chip that lies at the threshold of my budget. CPU: Ryzen 7 3700X (~$300 US) For my CPU cooler, I chose one that got fair ratings for the price point and matches a black and white aesthetic. I think it should be able to handle the 3700X's 65 watt TDP. ARCTIC Freezer 34 eSports DUO CPU Cooler (~$50 US) I wanted a graphics card that would be able to handle most loads very well but not destroy my bank account. For a moderate price and good looking specs on paper, I chose to get a variant of the GTX 1660 Super. GPU: Asus GeForce GTX 1660 SUPER 6 GB DUAL EVO OC (~$240 US) I figure 16 GB of DDR4 RAM should be enough for now, and that's an easy upgrade if I ever feel I need 32. I've picked out a well-priced kit with a sleek look. The only thing that gives me slight pause is the lack of reviews for this product, so any opinions on this choice would be appreciated. Crucial Ballistix 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) DDR4-3600 Memory (~$95 US) Since I'm going into content creation, I know I'll have to work with a lot of large programs and heavy files. I've chosen a 500GB Samsung 970 Evo M.2 NVME drive to act as a boot drive and to store programs and frequented files. I'm also going to add a large hard drive for storing files I'm not currently working on. I'll add extra storage and backup drives if my plans work as intended, but can't afford to purchase them now. Samsung 970 Evo 500 GB M.2-2280 NVME Solid State Drive (~$90 US) Seagate BarraCuda 4 TB 3.5" 5400RPM Internal Hard Drive (~$90 US) Knowing what I want to put on it, I chose my motherboard. I'm not very experienced at picking these, but I wanted to choose one with future upgrades in mind. Due to that, I thought it would be best to go with an X570 board. I also wanted one with a mostly black and white aesthetic and without too much RGB or colored highlighting. I thought that this Asus board would fit well. Asus PRIME X570-P ATX AM4 Motherboard (~$145 US) Since I'd found myself favoring a black and white clean aesthetic, I wanted my case to conform to that as well. I also wanted one with solid airflow and sleek design that could make a statement but not be obnoxious whilst sitting on my desk. The Fractal Design Meshify C in white ticked all of those boxes. Fractal Design Meshify C ATX Mid Tower Case (~$90 US) As for my power supply, I wanted something at least semi-modular but not too pricey, since my build was beginning to stress the budget I had set forth. I chose this one, which seemed to be a good deal, but I'm not sure how ideal it is for this build. I think this is the one item I'm most likely to change out if a better option is found. EVGA BQ 750 W 80+ Bronze Certified Semi-modular ATX Power Supply (~$85 US) Add on a Windows 10 key (~$100 US) and a tube of Thermal Grizzly Kryonaut (~$8 US). In total, the build is looking to cost me approximately $1,282 before any sales tax. This is right about the threshold of my budget, and I don't think I can justify going any further at the moment without good reason. With that said, please don't hesitate to tell me if there's anything I'm missing here. Also, please let me know if there are any obvious ways to save money that I may have missed. I'll shop around for bargains once my parts list is finalized. Cheers!
