Hello people! I have a little question regarding economy/city building simulators. So in a game such as Cities Skylines, the city is real-time simulated by the computer. All the data that is being simulated is written to a save file, when the game is saved. Now, imagine one would make an in-browser, multi-player economy simulator. So basically, you run the nation from an in browser interface. Different people make accounts, and trade with each other. That way, you basically get a multi-player economy simulator. Now I have some questions on how to go about and do this. - I can't use Javascript to simulate the economy, because you can easily cheat via inspect element. Basically, client side simulating seems like a bad idea. - If I would simulate all economies on the back-end (server-side), that would mean, depending on the amount and size of economies, I need huge servers to do the simulations. - I can, to some extent, decrease the amount of things that have to be simulated in real-time. Just a little example: Bad idea: An entity has to pay a loan. The server updates the database every second, telling how much money is paid, and and how much money is left to pay, and due to which date. Obviously updating a huge database every second with data is a terrible idea. Good idea: The database tells how much money has to be paid in total, due to which date, how much money per time unit is being paid, ... When information about the loan is needed, the amount of money already paid will be calculated when request using the current date, and the information in the database. So, I hope you understand my thought process. I'm not struggling with the programming aspect, just with the architecture, which is a pretty important thing. This is my first serious project, I don't expect it to be easy, or have a good end result. But I'm just making this because I want to try. Any ideas, help or suggestions on how to limit the amount of simulating done by the server, or how the do safe client side simulating. Or just help on the architecture would be nice. Hii, Guy need help around here >< i m trying to record game sound like game ending or op music that was great. So i can copy that music file (MP3 Format Sound .mp3) to my phone. So i search for google and i find out to use Audacity® - http://audacityteam.org/ But after record and i try to play that music the sound was not exactly same with original. If i use (Bandicam) - a screen recorder with audio and the music was Nice & perfect ! But i just need a music file .mp3 not a video ='( So any1 here can solve my problem? Problem - Need to record My PC sound like youtube/gaming music/etc.. Not microphone sound Sorry bad english :wacko: :wacko: :wacko:

Hi there. I am having trouble on playing heroes of the storm, I get this stutter effect, like not smooth at all but the fps counter is at flickering 60-59 constant, so there is no actual fps drop althought there is, it happens after minion spawn, and is ammplified when there are battles, it happens on training ai too, but not in try mode. here is the forum post: http://eu.battle.net/heroes/en/forum/topic/17288699994?page=1#0 Blizzard live support could not help, they checked my dxdiag and msinfo to find no issue, everything that I was told did not help, it happens regardless of in game settings, out of game settings/nvidia settings, regardless of components which are far more copable of running it, regardless of anything really, temp, formatted many times, antivirus, background processes, you name it. I am asking for this issue for more than a year now. No one has ever found the cause. Connection was found to be okay. Contacted ISP, everything is okay. My specs: Gtx 980 Mobo: dell precision t3600 Cpu: intel xeon e5-1620 3.6ghz. Ram: 8gb. 4x2gb sticks. Thanks

Is anybody else trying it out? I'm still downloading it at the moment. to anyone who wants to try it out(not sure if you need an email invite though, cause I had one) https://rsvp.battleborn.com/ to anyone who hasn't heard of battleborn and to anyone who says it's a copy of overwatch; I don't care this game's trailer even came out first and will even launch sooner so just go away. This game was made by the guys who made borderlands so I'm pretty sure they didn't copy it from anyone and I'm sure they made this game with their own mark of humor and style like the previous games we saw from them. edit: just finished the download will play for few matches. played a SINGLE story cooperative match. It took too long to have a proper team through matchmaking since people kept on diconnecting. This was the Coop story mode though so will try and see the Versus mode later on. First impressions(Coop Storymode): The matchmaking takes too long too many people disconnect and at times even on a full team the game just won't start. There is no way to communicate with matched people easily(Coop storymode) you need a proper voice communication since this game is a really fast paced game. Typing won't cut it. For example I was the only player on my team who had a mic on. Literally we were just running around uncoordinated just shooting anything that moves. Just like MOBA's you'd need knowledge and training to master each char. This game is even more unforgiving than MOBA's it's so fast paced that sitting around trying to decide which upgrade/skill to take will either kill you or your entire team. I also think that I was the only one upgrading my skills since I was the only one who had really high damge by the end of it. I think my teammates were just shooting anything picking up anything and going anywhere. will try versus mode later-on *just tried versus mode, and it somehow turned into another coop storymode without us even knowing. wtf

I'm looking for some people that just started playing Elder Scrolls Online (around lv 10) and is in the Daggerfall alliance to play with. I just got the game, and I would like to find some friendly people to party up, and do questing, and just have a fun time. Must have Skype for voice communication. While I am on the subject, I find TESO to be a very fun game to play. The soundtrack, in my opinion, is excellent, and the animation is good for an MMORPG. Haven't really came across any huge glitches, or bugs.

i am a big flipside fan ever since my friend turned me on to csgo betting and i won my first match on flipside, however there performance at the current major is nothing if not perplexing. they manage to qualify for every major but every time fail to make it out of groups, its almost like there far better online than at lan (something made fairly evident by their match against mouzsports earlier in the tournament, mouz being a team they've contended well with online but got stamped by at lan). i dont know if im missing something but it really just doesn’t make much sense to me how a team can have the ability to beat a team in the seemingly random environment of online qualification, but then loose when everything is working properly at lan?

It's $146.80 for the ultimate edition. It only comes to you digitally so there's no cool box, art book, or a toy to treasure and enjoy. Since I thought of building my PC this year, I've decided to buy the game and get the premium edition in advance as a birthday gift to myself. The game comes out November and that's my birth month. But this is ridiculous... I can't believe companies have the balls to charge us with absurd prices for products that only exist in the virtual world. Because of this, I'll just get the game (regular edition) during Christmas time. I'm hoping the prices sink by then.

Hi, Right now I'm studying for my CompTIA A+ certification (901, 902) and to my understanding there is a performance portion of the test where you have to navigate to certain areas in the OS. For Windows 7 and 10 this isn't a problem since I own machines with those OSs on it and can practice as needed. However, I do not have Windows 8, 8.1, Mac OS X, or Linux. Is there anywhere I can get a Virtual Machine or a practice program for these operating systems? Better yet, are there any sites that allow you to practice navigating these OS's for the purpose of the A+ exam? I would prefer if I didn't have to download the OS and make a separate partition for it on my current machines. Thanks a ton. -
Hey, I'm using IP Webcam on my old Android phone and I'm trying to get it to work with Synology Service Station. I don't have the money to out and buy an IP webcam and it says it has to be a brand or something to work when I try to connect it to Synology Service Station. Any ides? Thanks! -
Ok first off this is a topic I know very little about, so basicly a noob. I am looking at making a game server for Rust. I want to use a differant machine that I already have lying around. I would like to make the server for legacy and have it online (once I am established) How easy is this? What software do I need (I know that I need "steamCMD") Can I run the server and the game from the same internet conection? Do I need to make changes to my standard "Virgin" router? I am sure I am forgetting to ask things but this will do. Please remember I am a complete noob as far as networking or anything internet goes. So use simple terms or please add meanings. I hope all this makes sence. And thanks in advance

Hey guys so I've recently been having a problem with my connection to the league of legends servers and some other servers. When I speed test to a server about the same distance away in Pennsylvania I get about 35 ping and 18.xx down which is really good considering we have 20 down speeds through our isp and I'm on wifi so I don't believe that the wifi or our network setup is the problem. When I speed test to any Chicago server I get between 140-180 ping which is what I'm getting on league of legends although it can actually be even higher sometimes. What is causing me to get such high ping? I'm pretty decent on computers, but my internet knowledge is limited so some help would be much appreciated.

If you're a Battlefield 2 fan, you probably are aware that Gamespy, the service which hosted Battlefield 2's multiplayer servers, shut down last year, and EA didn't make a new home for Battlefield 2's servers, instead retiring the game's online playability. This also marked the end of Battlefield 2's availability for sale from sources like Steam, and Origin. However, I've read reports that some people contacting Origin support and asking for a copy of Battlefield 2 have been given free Origin keys for the game, probably EA offloading its remaining stock. Yet Battlefield 2 lives on, including its online multiplayability, at this site: http://www.battlelog.co/ A team of fans have set up a nexus for Battlefield 2 servers, made possible by the server files for Battlefield 2 having been leaked long ago. And more than just provide places to play Battlefield 2 online, they've also created a custom installer of Battlefield 2 that includes everything needed to play the game, which can be downloaded from the website freely. I guess the principle of abandonware applies to the game now, since it is no longer being published, isn't for sale, and as EA have been giving away remaining keys through Origin. As can be seen, there is a limited number of servers, either ranked or unranked, that are populated, but hopefully awareness and the free game download will lead to a player-base that grows beyond what it is right now. In my opinion, it is still the best Battlefield made to-date, and one of the best FPS games ever made, and a unique gaming experience.
