Decided to make a brand new pc that can run a QNIX monitor at the overclocked 120hz, randomly decided to slap a titanfall theme on, painting with plasti dip on the case, mobo, graphics card and ssd. Not sure whether to order the sleeved cables from ensourced or moddiy Wondering what the best way to mask off the right areas to spray paint the case, planning to print off a template, putting double sided masking tape, cutting it out and spray painting in layers Album here: Type|Item|Price :----|:----|:---- **CPU** | [intel Core i5-4690K 3.5GHz Quad-Core Processor](http://ca.pcpartpicker.com/part/intel-cpu-bx80646i54690k) | $258.32 @ TigerDirect Canada **CPU Cooler** | [Corsair H100i 77.0 CFM Liquid CPU Cooler](http://ca.pcpartpicker.com/part/corsair-cpu-cooler-h100i) | $117.26 @ DirectCanada **Motherboard** | [MSI Z97S SLI Krait Edition ATX LGA1150 Motherboard](http://ca.pcpartpicker.com/part/msi-motherboard-z97sslikraitedition) | $158.50 @ Vuugo **Memory** | [Kingston Fury White Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1866 Memory](http://ca.pcpartpicker.com/part/kingston-memory-hx318c10fwk28) | $89.99 @ Canada Computers **Storage** | [Crucial MX100 256GB 2.5" Solid State Drive](http://ca.pcpartpicker.com/part/crucial-internal-hard-drive-ct256mx100ssd1) | $127.98 @ DirectCanada **Storage** | [seagate Barracuda 2TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive](http://ca.pcpartpicker.com/part/seagate-internal-hard-drive-st2000dm001) | $84.98 @ DirectCanada **Video Card** | [EVGA GeForce GTX 980 4GB ACX 2.0 Video Card](http://ca.pcpartpicker.com/part/evga-video-card-04gp42981kr) | $646.98 @ Newegg Canada **Case** | [NZXT H440 (White/Black) ATX Mid Tower Case](http://ca.pcpartpicker.com/part/nzxt-case-cah440ww1) | $139.98 @ Newegg Canada **Power Supply** | [EVGA SuperNOVA NEX 650W 80+ Gold Certified Fully-Modular ATX Power Supply](http://ca.pcpartpicker.com/part/evga-power-supply-120g10650xr) | $74.99 @ NCIX **Operating System** | [Microsoft Windows 8.1 (OEM) (64-bit)](http://ca.pcpartpicker.com/part/microsoft-os-wn700615) | $109.99 @ Canada Computers **Case Fan** | [Corsair Air Series AF120 Quiet Edition 39.9 CFM 120mm Fan](http://ca.pcpartpicker.com/part/corsair-case-fan-co9050001ww) | $19.99 @ Memory Express **Case Fan** | [Corsair Air Series SP120 Quiet Edition (2-Pack) 37.9 CFM 120mm Fans](http://ca.pcpartpicker.com/part/corsair-case-fan-co9050006ww) | $34.98 @ Amazon Canada **Headphones** | [Kingston HyperX Cloud Pro Headset](http://ca.pcpartpicker.com/part/kingston-headphones-khxh3clwr) | $67.99 @ Canada Computers **Other**| Qnix Monitor| $297.66 | | **Total** | Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available | $2229.59 | Generated by PCPartPicker 2015-02-05 13:56 EST-0500 |

Introduction and Purpose- No pics yet but coming soon once I get all my parts.Saturday maybe. The purpose is to MAX out Minecraft in 4K with 523 Mods.It is ment to go superkill. This is purely minecraft machine and nothing else. Parts List- Not going to upload pics yet but there coming- CPU:Intel Core i5-4590 Quad Core @ 3.3GHz Minercraft is CPU bound for the most part but when adding mods such as shaders it can get graphically intense.Overall an i5 is overkill because the recommended specs is a i3.The 4590 will destroy minecraft no matter how many mods. CPU Cooler:Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO No stock cooling on ANY build I will ever do. Period. Memory:(4x4)(DDR3-2133)G.Skill Ripjaws Series 16GB Overkill.Solid Ram.Period Again. Storage:Samsung 850 Pro 120GB/2TB Seagate Barracuda 2TB The SSD for saving core/jar files for minecraft and the 2TB for other stuff like mods. GPU:Saphire Radeon R9-295X2....Just joking its a 280 Dual X And again Overkill and great for OpenGL 2.2 Dirext X-11 and 12 when 12 comes out.Should be able to handle shades just fine. Case:NZXT S340 Simple and Minecraft modable PSU:Seasonic GII2 620W Full Modular It works Pics coming this Saturday! @Enderman

Project Piano - Day 1: What is planned? (Lots of text) I recently upgraded my rig with an Asus GTX 970. Surprised of that beautiful black backplate, I thought about color matching my whole rig in a white/black themed build. Most of the system is black, from my cpu's cooler, the fans all the way to my motherboard's pcb. Just some little details, like some heatsinks and cables don't fit in the scheme. Yeah, "details". Cables, no problem. I looked for some white sleeved extensions, costs: Around 25$ + shipping, no big deal. Next on, heatsinks. I looked around on the internet and found a lot of people who painted their RAM heatsinks. Since mine are red, I thought I should do that as well. I got myself some spray paint, tried it out, just too see how the color looked. It was a beautiful white. Perfect, I thought to myself, let's try that out on an old motherboard's heatsink. It was some old partly broken Asus mATX board that I neither could sell, because partly broken, and I hopefully never would be needed to use again, since I have a new motherboard. So, I took off the heatsink, covered the bottom to make sure no paint comes on the contact area and started painting. First mistake. I didn't use sandpaper at all. Luckily, I kinda knew the first try would be a failure, so I only painted half of the heatsink. Second mistake. As I was finished, I decided to never try this again. I totally suck at painting stuff. I should have known this in the first place So I thought about letting it get painting by someone who knows how to do painting 'n stuff. I found a handful of paintshops for cars in my area. I'm gonna go there in the next days and ask, how much such a paint job would cost and wether they would paint this in the first place. Further, I wrote some modders I know and asked them how much they would charge for this. It's a lot of money, almost enough to buy a new motherboard, but I still didn't find a motherboard for my socket in a white/black theme. And I think by now, I want to get this mod thing done, I want an unique build. How does my build even look? I guess I should list the specs at first: CPU: Intel i7 3770k @ 4.0 Ghz, sometimes more, if I feel like GPU: Asus GTX 970 @ 1.5 Ghz Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-Z77X-D3H Case: Corsair 540 Air Cooler: BeQuiet! Dark Rock Advanced Fans: Some BeQuiet! fans Comment: Sorry for those ugly photos. I suck not only in painting things, but also in taking photos Current state of the build Currently I'm looking for people able to paint my motherboard's heatsinks. Depending on how much they charge, I will either let them paint the RAM as well, or just sell my RAM on ebay and buy new, white RAM. I looked around today and found some pretty beautiful RAM, even though it took a lot of time. Not much choice on white RAM, apparently not very popular. That's it for now. I will make some phone calls on monday and post the results here

Hi Guys This will be my first post on the forum i have been lurking around for awhile now but never had anything to really start a thread on. I hope this isn't too boring but i thought i might as well show that even if you are having hard times you can still build a decent rig. This is my first build. I have long been a PC user and enthusiast, but i have up to this point have never had the money and time and opportunity to build my own PC. This project was started as a i7 Gaming PC, I then had a problem with money and had a very limited budget. The idea behind it was a PC i could upgrade over time as i gained more money. The experience of building this PC was a starting block for my more ambitious project that i will be starting soon. An x99 build custom water cooled and custom case build. This is to be financed by my father in lieu of the last few years birthday and Christmas presents. This is the original parts list: http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/user/technocaveman/saved/zg8zK8 And this is what i eventually ended up with: http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/user/technocaveman/saved/WbV2FT It actually cost me a lot less than that as i got all of the parts on sale on black Friday and the GPU i got secondhand at CEX about 3 months back. As you can see i had a radical change due to unforeseen circumstances almost all of the money i had put aside had disappeared. Now i have had this rig for almost 3 weeks and had it running properly for less than 1. I am currently running Ubuntu 14.04 LTS, and SparkyLinux Gameover on 2 separate USB keys. a ADATA 32gb and a Flash Voyager 64gb. this is working really well so far. I will update with the build process at a later date when i have a chance to move it to my room in the case. I am currently running it in the case with the back side panel open as i don't have time to deal with all the cable routing and such. When i have finished constructing my desk/storage area where it will be permanently installed i will rebuild it with all pictures and a thourough build log. All questions are welcome. But please don't be offended if it takes me awhile to reply as i am currently working massively hard and do not spend much time online at the moment. Signing off for now Technocaveman

So, let me start off by saying that I am not the most computer technical person in the world and that this is my first attempt at building a computer. I was referred to pcpartpicker.com by a friend who helped me put together my future build. I have always been a console gamer. Windows 95 and Windows 2000 (Yes I know not consoles, but those are the computers I remember.) PS2, Xbox 360, PS3. My grandma still has the Windows 95 computer, I think, LOL. For right now my build is on-hold because I am in the middle of buying my first house and that house is worth more than a computer to me right now. Closing is on April 3rd and I am scared as hell/excited.This is a big step for me. After things settle down and I have a budget worked out, I will continue ordering parts on this build. Right now the only thing I have is Corsair C70 Vengence Case (White). My budget would be around $750.00 I do need a monitor, keyboard and mouse. I also want experiment with overclocking on this build. My build is purely for gaming along with web-browsing and Microsoft Office stuff. I do want to try writing code and know a little to do just that.Um, sorry to give you my life story on here, but it needed to happen I guess. Hopefully y'all can help me out with things that I need to switch around when I do order the parts. It may not happen until May. Who knows what will be out by then? Thank you very much in advance. Below is what I have so far. PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant CPU: Intel Core i5-4430 3.0GHz Quad-Core Processor ($179.99 @ Amazon) Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-Z87X-UD4H ATX LGA1150 Motherboard Memory: Corsair Vengeance 8GB (4 x 2GB) DDR3-1600 Memory Storage: Western Digital Caviar Black 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive ($91.44 @ OutletPC) Video Card: EVGA GeForce GTX 660 2GB Video Card Case: Corsair Vengeance C70 (White) ATX Mid Tower Case ($109.99 @ Amazon) Power Supply: Corsair 760W 80+ Platinum Certified Fully-Modular ATX Power Supply ($139.99 @ Amazon) Monitor: Asus VS248H-P 24.0" Monitor ($169.99 @ Amazon) Total: $691.40 Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available Generated by PCPartPicker 2015-03-05 09:42 EST-0500

Warning: TL;DR at the end. Hi guys! First of all I want to tank everyone for helping me these weeks with my component selection for my next build. After a lot of work and almost burning my brain to ashes I have come across the next 3 possible builds, all of them are around 1500-1600 dollars. I will give a brief preambule of each build and ask for your opinion in which would be the best one. Note: This is only the Core PC, other things such as HDD, fans, keyboard, monitor, etc I will add later. So let's get started! First of all the propuse of my PC is JUST GAMING, pure gaming, nothing more than gaming, I'm a frecuent player of games like WoW and LoL (my favorites in the world) BUT I'm planning on leaving my console rutine and start playing serious graphic demanding PC games. I like Assassin's Creed, Call of Duty, Batman, and intend on playing games like Tom Raider and Shadow of Mordor. About the monitor, my intention is to buy a 4K one with Free-Sync or G-Sync, whichever is cheaper (so take that into account when looking at the GPU's), I have always had a standard 1680x1050 21" Samsung monitor so I don't know what things like 144hz, IPS panels, etc feel like, I'm blinded on that side (you know, like Blind Side, blinded on a side, get it? ok ... ) Oh! Another thing I want for my PC is to be enthusiast grade, you know, like powerful components and gaming finishes, etc. First of all, things that all builds share: PSU: EVGA Supernova G2 1000W PSU 80+ gold.- Ok so this might look like a little bit overkill in 2 of the builds but the reasons I went with this is because it only costs 140 dollars and is jonnyGURU certified, which makes it a great deal, I have heard from you a lot of good things about EVGA PSU's, so this seems a good choice, also I want growing room to do 2-way SLI and with the 10 year warranty, it will last through several system upgrades. CPU Cooler: Corsair Hydro Series H100i GTX.- The previous H100i has gotten tons of good reviews and thumbs up from all the PC enthusiast comunity around the world, so its succesor, the GTX version makes a lot of sense to me, still have to wait for serious reviews about the cuality and shipping conditions of the unit but I already have my eye on it. Also I'm not going with the H110i GT Because I don't know if it will fit my case (I have a brand new Corsair C70) also, it is out of the market and a lot more expensive, I wanted to keep this build under 1600 dollars. Storage: Samsung 850 EVO Series 250gb.- This SSD has speed and great performance on its side and it is not THAT expensive, for 115 dollars this makes a lot of sense to me and promises to keep my PC fed with storage for the first 1 or 2 months. I'm not adding a HDD now becuase of the 1600 budget limit I self-imposed. Now for each Build! Intel z97 gtx980 - 1,595 dollars http://pcpartpicker.com/p/KPbzsY This z97 build focuses on powerful gaming, the i7 4790k promises to keep competitive in gaming for the next few generations and overclocks like mad (as far as I have read). i5 is not an option for me, though it will be perfect for today, it won't last for tomorrow, saving 100 dollars is not worth having to change processor in the next 2 years... The MOBO is overkill, absolutely, but it is ASUS, it is ROG and it is pretty, nuff said, also the great sound and overclocking features make it worth the 210 dollar premium price (In my humble opinion). The RAM... well it is RAM and it is cheap, end of the story. 16gb is also future proveness and stays within my budget. Now the most important part, the GPU.- well, as far as Nvidia Single GPU Cards, it doesn't get much better than this, This baby will run every game I can hope for and if in the future it stops being enough I can just throw another one in and... What dooes Linus says? Call it a day? I think so... Intel z97 r9 295x2 - 1,670 dollars http://pcpartpicker.com/p/v6czsY Exact same build as the previous one, z97-i7 based. But the big difference here: GPU: AMD Radeon r9 295x2.-As far as reviews, benchmarks and specs tell, this is the most powerful gaming video card on the market. I just freaking love it and the best part: it only costs 630 dollars on newegg!! Price is only 15% higher than the 980 but it will absolutely destroy it in any games that scale with SLI. The thing I like most about this GPU is how exotic it is, a truly enthusiast grade product. What do you think guys? Should I go full overkill and get a beautiful and powerful card just for the sake of PC enthusiast gaming? Intel x99 gtx 970 - 1,542 dollars http://pcpartpicker.com/p/FzmpJx Now things change quite a bit. This build features the brand new x99 Intel platform. I went with the i7 5820k because it is all you can get for less than 400 dollars on this platform. The reasoning behind this is pure future proveness, a 6core-12thread CPU promises to stay within the game for at least 5years (which is the period of time I intend this build to last without any strong modifications or upgrades), It overclocks well as the reviews say but the horrible downside is that it only features 28 pci-e lanes, so no dual x16 SLI or CrossFire. The motherboard is the least expensive x99 from Asus (I'm only choosing ASUS MOBO's because I'm married with the new BIOS). RAM is still RAM even though it is DDR4 so 16gb will be enough for now. And now the GPU: Nvidia GeForce GTX 970.- All the budget when to the CPU upgrade so little was left for the graphics card (which doesn't make a lot of sense since a gaming PC should take focus on the GPU). But still, the 970 offers great performance for its price and even after the whole wrong specification thing from Nvidia it is still a great card for a great price, also 2 of them in the future promise several FPS increase in games... yes? YES?!?! So that is all folks, I will stop writing before you get tired and close this tab. Thanks for reading and helping! Remember the whole thing about this post is which PC project you like more and why! TL;DR: Build 1:http://pcpartpicker.com/p/KPbzsY Build 2:http://pcpartpicker.com/p/v6czsY Build 3:http://pcpartpicker.com/p/FzmpJx Which one you like most and why? Thanks! P.S. Sorry for bad english, it is not my main language.

My bros. friend needs a pc. Before you talk about a case or a discrete GPU, the case will be from my bros. old pc. We are using a powerful APU for graphics. Any way to make it cheaper, better, more efficient? Nothing over $350. I'd like it to be about $250-$300. http://pcpartpicker.com/user/TheCoolClub/saved/#view=MXRRsY Thanx Scrubs.

This is my first water cooling build. I figured i would go all out if i was going to do it. Learned a ton during this build, that is for sure. Without your youtube channel and many other personalities (like Jayz 2 cents, PCJunkie Mods) i would not have been inspired to become an enthusiast water cooler, even though im a beginner through you all I have learned enough to get me by.

Hi everyone. I'll just start this thread to show what i have in mind. It's a scratch case build, that already have some goals to be anchieved: 1 - Be minimalist; 2 - Have M-ATX max size; 3 - Can hold a max of 1080mm radiator space Possible case dimensions: 42cm(H) x 29cm(W) x 39cm(D) This case will be separated in 3 chambers: 1 - The main chamber, where the mobo will be; 2 - The bottom chamber, where the PSU and cables will be; 3 - The side chamber, where the 1080mm radiator will be. This case can be all acrylic made, since it must be minimalist, but it's not close to another materials that you can suggest. I'm going to design and rendering this case in Solidworks, but since i'm a noob with this CAD software, for now here is a paint scratch that i made: This project do not have a deadline, so no rush with it. Comments, suggestions and tips are welcome, especially if it is to teach me how to use the program solidworks

I am new to this community! I am here today for some help and advice, not really to show off . I have recently ordered this build. I am wondering if i will experience any issues with particular parts (mostly the cpu, so called bottlenecking ) and I am wondering what i should look to do in the future in-order to improve the build. (I am not thinking of looks, more as performance. I couldn't care what my pc looks like as long as it performs.) Specifications: CPU: AMD Fx 8320 - 8 core - OC@4ghz (should i OC more?) GPU: Asus R9 290 - Direct Cu II OC 4gb Motherboard: Msi 970 Gaming Memory: 32GB Corsair Vengeance DDR3 Ram (little bit over-kill i know.) I am not looking to game at 4k or anything however i am just wondering if i will experience performance issues on 1080p/1440p on games like GTA V, CSGO, Arma 3 + 2. I also am going to order a 144ms monitor - any recommendations? - Thanks

I would like to know if this is a good build for maxing out games like The Witcher 3, BF4, and GTA V on 1080p at 60 FPS. I will probably be overclocking both the CPU and GPU, and I will upgrade multiple components in the future. The build costs around $1050, and my maximum budget is about $1125-$1150 Here is the PCPartPicker link, and the components are listed below if the link doesn't work: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/gZz6f7 Case: Corsair 200R ATX Mid Tower Case CPU: Intel Core i5-4690K 3.5GHz Quad-Core Processor Graphics Card: MSI GeForce GTX 970 4GB Twin Frozr V Video Card Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-Z97X-GAMING 7 ATX LGA1150 Motherboard Memory: Kingston HyperX Fury Black 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1866 Memory Hard Drive: Western Digital Caviar Blue 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive Power Supply: Antec Neo Eco 620W 80+ Bronze Certified ATX Power Supply CPU Cooler: Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO 82.9 CFM Sleeve Bearing CPU Cooler Case Fan: Corsair Air Series AF140 Quiet Edition 67.8 CFM 140mm Fan Optical Drive: Samsung SH-224DB/RSBS DVD/CD Writer Operating System: Microsoft Windows 8.1 OEM (64-bit)

I am looking for a cheap gaming PC build that can run the newest games, such as The Witcher 3, Battlefield 4, and Grand Theft Auto V, on at least high settings (preferably better than high, but OK if it can't get to very high), at 1080p and 60 FPS on one 1080p 60Hz Monitor. I would like the best performance for price components, if possible. My maximum budget is around $875-$950 with the monitor, OS, and maybe peripherals included. I don't mind if it is loud, but I somewhat care about exterior design and practicality, and I would like it to last at least 1 1/2 to 2 years. This is the current build that I have, and I want to either reduce the price while keeping similar performance, or just completely overhaul it based on people's suggestions: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/FTfd7P I would get this build, but it is just a bit out of my budget range, so if anyone could find a way to reduce the price and keep the performance that I am going for, it would be much appreciated. Thanks! Excuse me if I sound dumb with my questions, as I am new to PC building.

First let me start of by saying this will be my very first "From the ground up" computer build. I have always loved gaming and PC gaming has aways had a special place in my heath. I own an XBOX One for the exclusive games like Forza. I also own several Nintendo handhelds (including the new 3DS XL) and have always been a Pokemon fan. But I LOVE sim (-ish) games such as Forza, Flight Gear, Assetto Corsa (and yes even Minecraft!) I'm Dutch but prefer English speaking Media (For example all my devices have been set to English language because most Dutch descriptions ether make something difficult to understand or just make it sound plain stupid). I have basically always used a mac with a bootcamp thing to play games. (with a Mac Blackwidow 2013 and razer ouroborus) About a half a year ago I decided that: "it had been a good run with my Mac" and that is was time for a more gaming orientated system. Especially with DirectX 12 coming. I have Modded, upgraded and taken apart several computers in the past. I also have quite some experience in the software department. Lets get on to the computer build: I have made a list on the german part picker website: http://de.pcpartpicker.com/p/n7dY7P I am open for suggestions. I like the more simplistic and toned down look Apple computers have so this is why I decided to go with a Black - Gray/Silver color combination instead of the more common "gammerly" looks with lots of colors and edgy looking design. Hell, this thing has the sit next to me for like the next 2 years so it better look sleek and have some decent quality. I plan to upgrade my pc down the line probably the first upgrade will be adding some Noctua fans and a Noctua CPU cooler as I (and some of my friends) have had Great experiences with these coolers. The next thing I am planning to upgrade down the line is the Ram bumping it up to 16 GB than maybe adding another SSD and later a better CPU or GPU. This is one of the reasons I chose the Corsair case over a case like the Cooler Master 690 III (Windowed) Because the case has clamps rather than thumb screws this just seems more elegant to me. I'm Still in the financing and planning phase but I think I'll start building in about 2 months. (I find feel and quality of products very important, this is also one of the reasons I love mechanical keyboards) I chose the Intel i5 4690K but I am still doubting if I should upgrade to an i7 or not. I chose the Asus motherboard because I can upgrade my ram later on and i think it looks nice. I have also heard great things in terms of reliability about Asus I'm a bit confused as what motherboard to chose. Should I go with the cheaper: MSI Z97S SLI Krait or the Asus I currently have in the build? I chose the ram because I like the way the heat sinks make the ram look so sleek and it's not that expensive. (and lets be honest I could go with faster ram but as Linus has proven it doesn't affect games that much) I chose the SSD and HDD combo because I want quick startup and have some games on the SSD whilst still having some storage and not costing a fortune. I chose the Sandisk because in my understanding its the best price to performance you can get. and the WD Caviar Blue because I find this drive to be the most reliable. I chose the Asus Strix 970 because I want to game on it and I do not plan on running in SLI and I like the look of it. I chose the NZXT s340 because I hate plastic and love the minimalistic look of the case and I do not really need drive bays I chose the Corsair power supply because I heard great things about Corsair supplies and like their simple black design. (I MIGHT SWITCH TO AN EVGA ONE I'M NOT SURE YET!) I chose the Asus monitor Because it has low response time whilst looking quite good and at a reasonable price. I originally wanted a Ultra-widescreen Monitor but backed off after seeing response times, refresh rates and prices.(a am currently using a 27 inch monitor and its great for emersion and productivity. but they are pretty expensive and to avoid spending even more I went with an 1080p monitor and I may upgrade down the line to something like a ASUS Rog 1440p 27 -inch thing.) I chose a Corsair K65 keyboard because I want a mechanical cherry keyboard with cherry switches and RGB lighting. The LUA coding thing is going to be pretty awesome as well. (I can overcome the current horrible software) I chose a Logitech mouse because I like the look, ergonomics, performance, button layout, price and quality of Logitech. I also decided to get me a bungee and a mouse mat I decided to nam the computer Axon because I jugged it to be a fitting name. I am very open to suggestions and debate and will update this post once I have made progress Currently I'm planning to do the build in 4 parts Part 1: Buying the monitor and getting my space ready Part 2: Getting PC components (Except for HDD and the CPU Cooler) Part 3: Buy Peripherals and Headset Part 4: Buy Extra's like the Cooler, A few Noctua Fans and A HDD. (Maybe the Thrustamster TM 28, Thrustmaster T3PH Pro Pedals and the Thrustmaster TH8A Shifter.)

http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/p/gyhyZL Completely new at this and I'm a bit confused about.. well everything.. Am I better sticking with the EVGA brand GTX 970 or could I sub it for the cheaper zotac version ? Am I better off getting the i5 4590 or should I stick with the 4460 I chose originally ? (price difference is £9) I'll be buying additional storage later on in the year either another 256gb ssd with 1tb drive or simply just a 1tb drive ( I Won't be installing that much stuff just a few games and university work ) Will I get away with the 500w power supply or should I upgrade to a 600w ? I plan on over-clocking (once I find out how to do that) The motherboard is the bit I'm completely clueless on, I picked that one due to the 4 usb 3.0's and HDMI port. Not even sure if it'll work with the i5 haha ! Already bought a 24" asus screen, the wee cooler and the ram but not the rest... because i'm clueless !

<UPDATED 2> Greetings folks, I am looking for suggestions/recommendations on an inexpensive/quality/performance computer build that is geared towards film editing, graphic design and heavy gaming, and I do plan on overclocking. My budget is around $1800. This is not my first build; my previous was an AMD build which is about 4 years old. This time, I am planning on an Intel build. I have already picked the parts that I thought were the best for their price and performance, but since this is my first Intel build, I would like a second opinion. In the future, I plan on adding a custom water-cooled loop when I have more funds. Below is a list of parts from pcpartpicker.com 1 - http://pcpartpicker.com/user/watkinsc86/saved/H8pFf7 2 - http://pcpartpicker.com/user/watkinsc86/saved/pjmQzy ***(things are subjected to change)*** (1) Intel Core i7-5820K 3.3GHz 6-Core NZXT Kraken X61 106.1 CFM Liquid Asus X99-DELUXE ATX LGA2011-3 Crucial Ballistix Sport 16GB (4 x 4GB) DDR4-2400 Samsung 850 EVO-Series 120GB 2.5" SSD Western Digital Caviar Blue 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Gigabyte GeForce GTX 970 4GB WINDFORCE NZXT H440 (White/Black) ATX Mid Tower EVGA 750W ATX12V / EPS12V Microsoft Windows 7 (2) Intel Core i7-4790K 4.0GHz Quad-Core NZXT Kraken X61 106.1 CFM Liquid Asus MAXIMUS VII FORMULA ATX LGA1150 G.Skill Trident X Series 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR3-2400 Samsung 850 EVO-Series 120GB 2.5" SSD Western Digital BLACK SERIES 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Gigabyte GeForce GTX 970 4GB WINDFORCE NZXT H440 (Black/Red) ATX Mid Tower EVGA 850W ATX12V / EPS12V Microsoft Windows 7 In addition I need add Fans to this build recommendations If you were curious, I also included a list of my current build. Just wonder if this is a decent budget build http://au.pcpartpicker.com/p/WpDpNG This is my first attempt at this and figured this would be a good place to ask around for advice. I'm trying to keep it cheap and fast but I'm willing to pay up too $1000 and maybe a little over that. If anyone's got any suggestions or improvements feel free to edit the Pc Partpicker and leave the link below or tell me what to swap out for it

Enjoy the read, pictures and the amount of mistakes I've made. If you want a TL;DR, Switched from a Macbook Pro (non-Retina) & Playstation 3 to an Z97 build. Prolouge (Mid 2013-Late 2013) Corsair RMA (Early 2014) The Plan (Late 2014) In the end, I settled on an i7-4790k, GTX 980 and a Asus Maximus VII Hero. The Parts list (Late 2014) Upgrade Path (Early 2015) Picture Gallery I'd like to also take the chance to thank Raymond from Corsair, My original friends that convinced me to get into the PC world, Countless forum members for the help on my build plans and @LinusTech for his videos that I used to get reviews on everything, watching each video about a part I was considering multiple times. And a special shoutout to the people who, off the top of my head, have helped me a lot when it comes to my countless build plans. @Geekazoid , @XTankSlayerX and @Jerakl amount others. I'll update this space when I add to my build or do any modding. Feel free to comment on anything you think I should add as well as any grammatical errors I might have made. What better way to celebrate my #1337'th post
