I am looking to build new computer specifically for gaming but not 4K and this is what I was thinking on getting. Like I mentioned before this computer will be used mainly for gaming with the occasional use of Photoshop. I will be running games like WOW, SMITE, LOL but I wanted to see if it would run games like Batman Arkham knight or other high-end games on max at 1080p. Any feedback or recommendation will be greatly appreciated. Hi guys, Still planning my build. Hopefully it will happen in the Summer; I'm planning on doing a watercooled system but I want to sort out my colour scheme first and I wanted some suggestions. I'm planning on buying one of the H440 with the black as the base colour and plasti-dipping the accents white (like a white case but inverted colour scheme). Anyway these are the specs: I7-4970k (I cba to wait for skylake unless it comes out during the Summer) Asus Sabertooth Z97 Mark S Avexir Core Series 16GB (the one which matches the sabranco camo) GTX 780ti /980/ 980ti HOF Watercooling wise I was hoping for 2 x 360mm but I think I will just got for a 240mm and 360mm. I'm planning on doing my fans like this (credit to AMD Lover and his Vanilla Ice build) http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/148568-vanilla-ice-750d-in-progress/page-8 This got me considering a Blue and White themed build or maybe the same style i was going for before but with blue coolant instead of the milky white one. Would love to hear your opinions Here are some similar builds I got inspiration from: http://www.avexir.com/casemodding/case-modding-30.html http://www.avexir.com/casemodding/case-modding-41.html Change of plan, I don't see any point in upgrading so i'm going to stick with my i7-3770k and my Asus z77 P8z77-v Deluxe however I will upgrade my gpu for a 770. I'm going with a predominantly white/blue theme with a bit of black. Do you guys think there is any point upgrading? (All i use it for is gaming mainly)

Hey Guys, I'm building a new computer that I plan on buying in a month from now. I would need some feedback on what I should change or what's wrong with my build. My budget is around 2000$ with the monitor included. CPU: Intel Core i5 4690K GPU: EVGA GeForce GTX 960 Superclocked ACX 2.0 + 4GB GDDR5 Motherboard: ASUS Z97-PRO (Wi-Fi AC) SSD: Sandisk Extreme Pro 240gb or Samsung 850 Pro 256gb Hard Drive HDD: Western Digital Black 1TB Power Supply: Corsair Professional Series Modular HX850 or Corsair HX850i DVD Player/Burner: LG (WH16NS40) Liquid CPU Cooler: Corsair Hydro Series H80i GT or Corsair Hydro Series H100i --- Which fan would be the best for this Liquid CPU Cooler Fans: Corsair Air Series AF140 or Corsair Air Series AF120 Depends what I need for the case Monitor: BenQ RL2455HM 60hz or BENQ XL2411Z 144hz Case: Corsair Carbide Series SPEC-02 Red LED or Corsair Carbide Series 400R Mid Tower Case So if you guys have any suggestions or anything to say about my new build, feel free to leave a comment. Thanks, Alex

I have seen IMCustoms's "Project Ultima". It inspired me to do something DIY of my own. So a couple weeks ago.. while it was mining Ziftrcoin(It gets like 1 usd cent worth of ziftrcoin's after a few days of mining..) soda spilt on it. So I guessed it was done for... So like "anyone" would do, I put the power cord that had a few sticky spots on the end due to the soda, I plugged it into the PSU.. But it made a pop sound.. so I unplugged it before trying to power it on. So I don't know if its fried.. but for the heck of it, I tore it down, got mobo out(I tried taking the cpu out sideways.. and when I loosened the retention arm, it kinda slipped from it.. and I see bent pins.. but its exactly half the socket.. so Idk if its meant to be bent). After I did that, I got the cpu, heatsink, HDD, ect ect. accidentally broke one of the antenna cords to connect to its intel centrino wireless n card. Idk if it is fried.. so I decided after all things considered.. I would try my own project, and I have only built my own pc(worked on some before), you can see the specs in my signature. I'm going to do a small, smallll form factor case. I also smashed into this idea after seeing people liking a different small case, and after I rewatched his Gigabyte Brix I5G760 review . I haven't decided if I will sacrifice a bit of size for support for full size PCI, or just low profile. It will take a SFX form factor PSU, and it will take a mini itx motherboard. The PSU will go on the top, and the case length and width will barly be bigger then the motherboard itself. There is 2 things right now that poses a issue. I don't have a mini itx motherboard and I don't have a SFX form factor PSU. I have made models about 2 weeks ago, I don't think it will be blue, this is just very rough for the basic Idea. It may be dead from detail, but the PSU will be at top, it will square around the mobo, and maybe few other features. Also, it will be a lga 1155 board because that computer I tore down had a pentium g.. I need to look back(Oh wait.. someone changed it to pentium 4 in google docs.. it was some sandy bridge pentium.. I had it in the list of ziftrcoin stats....)It was sandybridge, 2nd gen. So taking the gamble that it will work. Well this is ganna be a kickoff.. except I also don't have a CPU cooler.... oh wait I do The stalk one I pulled. BTW, THe computer was a dell inspiron 660s. So here is the final specs. Update 6/23/2015 So the parts have been kind of stabilized a bit. The R5 230 got fried in the time, got lost, didn't work when tested. That 660s that got soda on it? I tested it tonight after months, it actually works. Just that the OS was corrupted bad on the driver(was like that before the incident , reinstalling windows anyways). I will use 8gb of ram, 4gb of AMD Entertainment series ram, and 4gb of ram that came with the computer, the AMD ram is currently in my gaming pc, it was pulled from the computer, but now I will put it back in once it comes time. The CPU works, and all the main components, except the antenna.. because I kind of cut one of the cords on accident shortly after the soda incident.. Ok, the 500gb blue works, I will just reinstall windows on it, but if its a storage issue, I will just use a laptop drive(I HAVE ALOT) for it, which would probs end up being a 250gb of 320gb WD Scorpio blue(I have 2x 320gb's from 2 twin laptops, and the 250gb from a different laptop). So that is stabilized. The motherboard form factor is a tiny bit custom, so rather then it being a complete square, it may be slightly even rectangular, but just a bit. Here is the reason, it is to save money on the motherboard. The motherboard from the PC works too, with the socket, and everything. I will use that, and it has a slot for a wifi card(the type found in laptops, not usb or pci-e). I will just use a antenna from a laptop, and strap it to the case. So Last of all I will just need to figure out the PSU. The psu from the 660s works, but it is really meant for just the 660s. It has the shortest motherboard power connector ever, most connections aren't long, and the psu is planned to be mount in the top for my plans. I may(if I can afford it, since I need to order something another item too.) get just some psu extensions to save plenty of money. It won't be a small box psu like I wanted, its a rectangular psu. But it will work. The thing that I need to order, besides the extensions, is the cpu cooler for my personal gaming pc. Small story, my HYPER T4 cooler came in, I had to break my cooler off, like a lot had too..(stupid intel cooler) So the T4 wouldn't go on, it is meant too, but it kept on slipping off, others on newegg reported this.. but I didn't think it was too bad, the starts weren't bad. After that, the only cooler I had was from the 660s... It was built mostly for that mobo, and the fan had a weird shape. I had to push the built in long screws barly through the mobo as hard as I could, and put a metal nub on it, that came with the t4... I had a fan that fit the dell cooler, so I put it on, but since it had a weird mount shape, I was only able to screw in 2(the dell cooler had the weird mounting parts, not the fan). I will put that back in the mobo I will be using for the pc, this is when I get a new stock cooler, or something hardly better, for my gaming pc. Specs: The Mini-One(case) 8gb of dell memory(4gb Dell stock ddr3 ram) And 4gb of Amd entertainment series 1600mhz ram.) Second gen pentium. A mini itx motherboard(Dell Inspiron 660s mobo) A SFX psu(Dell inspiron 660s psu with extensions.) A 500gb WD caviar blue. Win 8.1 64 bit(reinstall, came with win 8 when I got the 660s, and relicensing it should be easy, since its to essentially the same system I'm relicensing it too. Inspiron 660s default cooler. Well, this is Ghetto! I will post a very rough picture of the model for the basic idea, and the color most likely won't be blue .

Didgy's Bitfenix Prodigy M mod I built this case a while ago. Started in october and finished it in about three weeks. I was planning on building a new computer, and I decided to build a small one. However, I had a few criterias my computer would have to fill: Support for: 240mm (2x120mm) radiator 2-way SLI or Crossfire Full-size graphics cards Full-size PSU Large window At least one 3,5" HDD At least one 2,5" SSD Preferably one 200mm fan or larger I saw the not-so-new Bitfenix Prodigy M. I've long liked the exterior looks of the Prodigy, and this case filled many of my criterias. However, there were a few things that I disliked about this case: Motherbord was flipped upside-down Front-panel was placed on the side-panel Didn't support SLI while using 240mm radiator Airflow went from top to bottom (Rather than the opposite which is more preferable temperature-wise) So, after carefully examining the case's outside and inside dimensions I bought the case and immediately started working on it. I'm not really planning on posting the not-so-many pictures I've taken while working on it unless some people would like some explanation as to how I did certain things. Anyway, here's a few pictures I took of the case a few months back. These are slightly outdated, although I have not done much since they were taken. I will list things done prior to the pictures, things done after and future plans below. Specs: Bitfenix Prodigy M ASUS Maximus VII GENE Intel Core i5-4690K overclocked to 4.2Ghz at 1.09V Corsair H100i Corsair Dominator Platinum 16GB 1866MHz 2 x ASUS GeForce GTX 970 STRIX Corsair AX850 Western Digital Black 1TB Corsair Force GS 240GB Corsair Link Commander Mini Corsair Link LED Lighting Strips 2 x Noctua NF-F12 PWM Noctua NF-A14 PWM 2 x Noctua NF-A6x25 FLX Bitfenix Spectre Pro 230mm Pictures: Things done prior to pictures: Flipped the motherboard-tray (And also the whole rear of the case) Moved front-panel from side-panel to the top of the case. Beside the radiator-fans Moved PSU onto front of the case. Used the PSU fan-mounts and screwed them together with the fronts fan mounts New windowed side-panel (Made by Bitfenix) Cut a piece out of old side-panel to fill gap where PSU used to be Used double-sided tape (Alot stacked on top of each other to make one thick piece) to place HDD and SSD on front-panel beneath PSU Placed small felt-pieces between GPUs to make better airflow for upper GPU and to stop upper GPU-fans from touching lower GPU. Bought some industrial 120mm fan grills from Ebay and painted them black with spraypaint. Things done after pictures: Flipped rear fan orientations to provide for better airflow (All lower fans for intake, all upper fans for exhaust) 3D-printed a black plastic frame to place around top fans. Courtesy of my friend Orgitrax (Who has his own Prodigy M-ATX mod, but somehow isn't bothered to publish it) Placed the last screw in the radiator. (The screwthreads are gone in one screwhole. Placed a screw there now but it's only for looks. Doesn't hold the radiator in any way) Future plans: Switch out felt-pieces for similiar ones in black rubber Switch out PSU for a Corsair AX860i Buy new individually sleeved white cables for that PSU Buy new 200mm fan from Noctua when released Buy a mPCIe-based M.2 SSD Buy new SLI-brigde. Possibly a nVidia or ASUS ROG one. Buy a Corsair Dominator Platinum Airflow module. (Because RAM-cooling is swag) Set up a custom watercooling with 3x120mm OR 2x120mm + 140mm radiators. Dual on top and one in the back. (This is not a priority at the time) I'm also tempted to mod room for a 2x140mm radiator on the top. This will most likely not fit if I'm doing the watercooling above. Buy 2 x Noctua NF-A6x25 PWM, better fan speeds control over my FLX ones. (The PWM wasn't released by the time I bought the FLXs) Cut out a square piece of the right side-panel to let the PSU exhaust out of the right side of the case. I'll fill the square piece with some black mesh. Find a new way to sleeve Front Panel Audio Connector. Already tried sleeving it with a heatshrink, but due to the size of connector compared to the cable, the heatshrink looks quite ugly when bending it the way I did in this mod. Possibly buy a new case to do the whole mod over again. The new Front Panel didn't turn out as pretty as I'd like. And there are a few things I'd like to have done differently. As of now, the project is somewhat put on hold as I'm going into the army in two months. However, I might do many of the things above when I come back. Hopefully, some kickass new hardware is out by then so I can pretty much upgrade the whole computer. I'll probably take some new pictures of how the case looks as of today in the near future. This is my first case mod ever. Actually my first attempt to cut steel ever. So if anything looks crappy, ugly or impractical, I'll use that as an excuse! Thanks for checking out my case! - Didgy PS: I'm new here!

This is my first build and i just want to make sure it'll work for what I need. That said here are my needs; 1, To be able to play newer games like Fallout 4 at 1080p 60fps on at least High settings. 2, To be able to develop games (I.E. Unity, sound software, 3d modeling) Here are the specs: qHF6f7 If anyone could give their opinions on the build, I would really appreciate it. Note, I will eventually get an SSD but at the present time, I cannot afford one.

Here are some pictures from the build. I am getting Noctua fans for the front. Ordered them from amazon should be here on the 18th. Not sure if I am going to use the extra corsair ram fan or not. Tell me if I should and if I should put them on the drives or somewhere else. The drives are 4 2tb Seagate drives in RaidZ1. I also have a 240gb ssd for a high-speed in-house file server. It has these: G3258 8gb Ram Z97 AR Tell me what you think and anything I can add. Thanks! Will be posting more updates on an as-need and when I feel like it schedule.

Ok, so I will be building another PC which is hopefully going to be a beast for Gaming, was wondering if I can get some other peoples opinions on the specification and how well it will run high end pc games and maybe at the QHD resolution. Click HERE to view the parts. Thanks for the views and maybe it will change my mind about different parts.

Hello I recently sold my old build, and am planning out a new one. Because of the two twenty seven inch monitors on my desk, I have very limited space, and would like to do a mini ITX build in a CaseLabs Mercury s3 (with a pedestal) unless they make a pedestal for the Nova XM2. As of now (with bold indicating parts that have already been purchased), my part list is: CPU: Intel Core i7 4770k (picked it up from a friend for $150) Motherboard: Asus Maximus VI Impact (Newegg had an open box for $120, so I jumped on it) RAM: 8gb G.Skill Sniper 2400 mHz DDR3 (was on sale for $52) Case: CaseLabs Mercury S3 with Pedestal PSU: OCZ 1000w Fully Modular PSU (will find sleeved cables later, purchased from the same friend for $70) Drives: (2x) Samsung 840 Pro 128gb GPU: Undecided- not sure if I want to keep my 3gb 780 or sell it and get a 6gb edition or titan I plan on doing a loop with PETG tubing and two reservoirs, as well as two radiators in the pedestal. Everything, including the motherboard, RAM, CPU, and GPU will be water-cooled with nickel EK waterblocks. As far as colors go, I am thinking a black (don't feel like paying $20 for gunmetal) case with either red or blue coolant.

CPU:AMD FX 8350 CPU cooler: Arctic Freezer 7 (had to ghetto an extra fan on the other side of the heat sink due to high temps) MOBO: ASUS M5A78L-M USB 3 GPU: XFX R9 290 DD Edition HDD: 1 Tb sshd CASE: Zalman z11 plus RAM: 8 Gb crucial ballistic ram (2x4gb) PSU: 750w Arctic blue+ All for around £600 (including a few internal adapters and a keyboard and mouse). Good deal or not? (Edited no OC, as well as AMD generously giving me an upgrade due to LONG wait. upgrade in CPU cooler)

So about a year ago while over at a friends house I noticed he had an old Dell system buried under some junk in the basement. He noticed me looking at it and asked if I wanted it. What was my answer? F*** ya! I totally forgot to grab it when I left and it was not till 2 weeks ago that I obtained it. The system is all original from what I can tell and I even got the Logitech Wing-man joystick that they bought with it (not sure about the mouse) I mainly wanted it because of the monitor at the time for another project I have in the works but now I actually have a complete socket 370 system for all my Pentium IIIs and Celerons. I also got this slot style Pentium III ATX board, it seems to be almost the same one as was used in my Pentium II system, just a bit newer and the addition of an extra serial port. Ignore the C2D and thermal compound I will most likely put Windows 2000 on this system since it was designed for ME. What else should I use it for? tag @tmcclelland455
