Hello, So I've had my RTX 3090 for almost two years now, and since then, I've seen a lot of performance issues compared to my RTX 2080 TI. For example, when playing Ark Survival, ill see random 30 to 40 fps drips. This could be the game itself, but I've had many other experiences like this in Deep Rock Galactic, City Skylines, and a lot of older games like Call of Duty World At War. I thought it was just because it's a newer card, and it has some driver issues to work out. Though it's been long enough to where I think it's on my end or just a faulty card. Any advice would be apricated. Thank You The rest of my PC specs here. Ram- G.Skill-3600, 32gb Motherboard-ASRock Z390 Steel Legend CPU- I9 9900K Storage-SSD 970 EVO Pulse storage-SSD 850 EVO.

Just recently installed Ubuntu to get into Linux but ran into a problem of it being slow, apps taking time to open and videos dropping framerate down to like 10fps. I also noticed that my CPU 2 core is basically always at 100% or is jumping up and down like a monkey while other cores don't go above 10% and there is no process using over 10% of the CPU. What can be the problem and can I fix it?

pc build Solid Minecraft, Forza Horizon 5, and Virtual Machine PC
techElliott posted a topic in PC Gaming
I want to build a PC that can give me good frame rates and RTX Support in Minecraft and Forza Horizon 5. I want an Intel CPU and Nvidia GPU. I also want to do some PHP programming and run VMs on a linux environment. I think an Intel 12700K and a Nvidia RTX 3050 with 32GB of ram would be fine for what I want to do. I want to game in 1080p at 120Hz and I am fine with DDR4 Ram. I think that the integrated graphics in the 12700K would be fine for me in a VM. If anyone has suggestions on what I should get feel free to let me know, I am in no hurry. FYI I am running a Dell OptiPlex 9020 with 32 GB of ram to play minecraft. techElliott- 2 replies

So after noticing some graphics errors with my PC I decided to uninstall my current Radeon drivers and see if that would solve my issues. I booted up ddu and when I went to wipe them I noticed I had Nvidia drivers along with Intel drivers on my machine. I had previously removed my Nvidia drivers and the Intel drivers although I've never used any Intel components in my machine. Long story short even after wiping my ssd and using DDU multiple timee they're still there and I'm still having graphics errors. Could it be my ssd? I'm planning on getting a new GPU for my existing setup. I used to have a 1050ti but after a damaged display port, the display began to glitch. I do some light gaming, but I mainly use the pc for training ML models. Hence, looking for a decent GPU that would be compatible with the pc. Might also upgrade the RAM. Current setup: gigabyte h110m-h Core i5-7400 MSI GTX 1050ti 4gb Corsair 8gb dd4 2400 Corsair vs550 power supply I have a mid tower case Potential upgrades Gigabyte RTX 3060 Gaming Add 8gb ddr4 I'd like suggestions for the GPU and other changes in the same price range. Edit: i live in Hong Kong.

Hi, Despite the high price, I have decided to upgrade to 4080 founders edition (from gtx 970), will be running it on ultrawide 1440p, a bit of an overkill but honestly can't reason a better option for the long run. coming to the topic, this card is efficient but still I want to lower power limit to 80 to 90% and not lower, (just using power limit slider with afterburner and not messing with voltage) So far I have seen it wouldn't harm anything but If you guys know any reason not to do it, that will be appreciated, concerned about power as I'm in Europe with a power crisis and even if there is small reason not to limit i'll just leave it as it is and move on. Thanks for reading.

So I've had this laptop for about a few years now and it has a GTX1050. But when I go to update the graphics drivers it brings up an error saying that drivers failed to update, I think the drivers may be corrupted. Also I can't restore the drivers to a previous version because my laptop "had to be factory reset" to fix some other issues, or at least that's what a teacher at my school said would fix everything but it didn't fix everything, and I also lost some files and game saves. What do I do to fix my graphics drivers?

Hey everyone So I've been noticing lower fps in games and slightly more stutter. I have been busy with work so haven't had much time to throw myself into single player games. Mostly been playing csgo and LoL. I was wondering why the other day I got lower FPS in csgo roughly 150ish with a GTX 1070 and i7-8700. Today I check MSI afterburner and it seems that my core clock and memory clock are stuck. The memory clock doesn't ever go pas 810Mhz but majority of the time sits at 405Mhz. I wonder if this card is "dead". Anyway if anyone has any ideas why this would randomly happen let me know ! My 3060 will arrive tomorrow but still pretty bummed to find out about the 1070 Thanks in advance !

Here are my current specs: GTX 1060 Gigabye AORUS B450 M 2x8 GB Kingston hyperX Fury 3200 MHZ Samsung 970 evo plus and some cheap af PSU that i dont care about lol For my new build im planning on keeping the same Motherboard, RAM and SSD Heres a link to the current build: https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/list/rvtnFg (including the parts i currently have in this pc) Are there any recomendations / upgrades i can make to this build while keeping the CPU AMD and the GPU Nvidia? I'm also curious if there are any compatability issues i should be aware of as im planning on buying the CPU right now but if anyone knows any alternatives that will be cheaper for christmas sale then please say so (same with the gpu) Any help is appreciated Thanks (edited because i forgot to add the PSU to the pc part picker link)

Hi all, I am having trouble installing a new graphics card, it appears to be a driver/windows issue. I purchased a 3070 off eBay - I am aware of the risks but it seems to be almost mint in box so I had no obvious reason for concern- to replace my 2070 super. I foolishly deleted my existing drivers and forgot to have new ones at the ready. After correctly seating and cabling the card, I turned on and got a no signal error. This was probably not an installation issue given that the card clearly turned on, including lights and heating up. After reseating several times I went on to the built in graphics (I'm running a 10700k), and apart from the lack of the GPU in device manager and the issue I will get onto shortly and of course only using onboard graphics, the PC is working fine. Having realised my error I downloaded the latest drivers: but this is where things get weird. I am told the 22H2 windows ( I'm running windows 10 though I'm told this is a big issue on windows 11) is broken, and this may be the cause of the Nvidia installer (and GFE) telling me I had incompatible windows and incompatible hardware. The relevant graphics adapter did not appear in device manger. The odd thing is that this is probably not a hardware issue as when I reinstalled my old card, I kept having the same issues, lack of compatibility, not on device manager etc. I don't know if it's relevant, or how to fix it, but while my windows if definitely 64 bit, the DirectX diagnostic tool says my display mode is 32 bit. I have tried thoroughly to look for a solution to this issue but having found that nothing that worked. If anyone could shed some light on this that would be appreciated.

Hey there, I have a problem with my monitor/TV setup on my PC and it would be great if someone is able to help me with it. My setup: 3 Monitors and 1 TV connected to my PC (the TV is in another room), the TV is a LG C9 Windows 10 x64 Nvidia RTX 3090 When I enable the TV in the Nvidia Display Settings and my PC doesn't output to the displays (from going to sleep or starting the PC), I can not get an output on any of my monitors without turning on the TV first. I can interact with the PC, resume playing videos or logging in, but I won't get an image. This only happens if the TV is off, if any of my other monitors are off, I still get an image on the screen. What I would like to have is, that while the TV is in standby, my monitors will output an image. And if possible that also while the TV is in standby that Windows doesn't handle it as an active Display, meaning I can't move my curser on it, put programs on it, etc. Does someone know how to do that or if that is even possible?

Parts CPU: AMD Ryzen 9 7900x MOBO: Gigabyte B650I Aorus Ultra GPU: EVGA RTX 3080 Hydro Copper 10 GB (With PCIE 4.0 Riser Cable. PSU: Corsair SF750 RAM: 2x16 gb G.Skill Flare X5 DDR5 I am trying to get a new build up and running but I'm having trouble with my GPU. Boot takes much longer than when I have only integrated graphics plugged in. I have not been able to get a display from my GPU yet. Using only integrated graphics, I see that the GPU is listed as Disabled in Device Manager (Code 43). Upon installing Nvidia drivers my pc auto rebooted to complete the installation. This took a very long time and then notified me that the drivers failed to install. I turned off all firewalls and attempted to reboot my system to try installing the drivers again. While restarting, Windows gave me this error "DRIVER POWER STATE ERROR"." The PC then force shut down and rebooted. EVGA said the 30 series do not work well with PCIE cables and I should try the card without it but that is not doable in the sff case I am using. Should I test the card on another mobo? Is the card faulty? Has anyone else run into this issue?

Summary Reviewers have published their benchmarking results featuring NVIDIA’s most powerful mobile GPUs to date; the 4090 and 4080 Laptop GPU. Today we will be looking at a review by Hardware Unboxed/TechSpot, which focuses primarily on the 4090 Laptop GPU itself and not actually reviewing the whole laptop. Quotes My thoughts I think this 4090 Laptop GPU is an incredible piece of engineering, providing near 4070 Ti Desktop performance or 3090/3090 Ti Desktop performance in a mobile platform. I agree though with Tim on many of his negatives. One thing he points out is building out even a standard 4090/13900k desktop PC on PCPartPicker without choosing the most price to performance parts comes out to about $3500. That's the same price as the cheapest laptop with a 4090 Laptop GPU. There's of course additionally the misleading branding. While this is common currently in the Laptop space, it doesn't necessarily make it right. Using an M at the end (signifying Mobile) and bringing that back makes more sense. This card has only 60% of the CUDA cores seen in the desktop 4090 card, which is very important to consider (calling it a 4090 when it's closer in specs to a desktop 4080). Another thing Tim mentions regarding the reasoning behind the 4090 nomenclature is to bring price parity with OEMs with similar desktop configurations. A buyer who hasn't done all their due diligence might see a desktop 4090 with an i9 and laptop 4090 with an i9 both for $3500, thinking they are the same; except with the laptop you get a screen and it's portable. Lastly, and most importantly pointed out is the power target. Where this 4090 Laptop GPU exists in both 80W and 150W configurations. Obviously, the 80W will be substantially slower. If you see reviews of the 4090 and it's the 150W version, then you purchase a laptop with the 80W version; you might be left disappointed when it's performing 30% slower than compared to the benchmarks you saw. This is why a more logical and practical naming scheme should have been established originally. I'm looking for some advice. I currently have an Asus nvidia geforce RTX 3060 single fan in my asus rog strix and wanted to change it to an Asus nvidia RTX 3060 V2 OC dual fan. Or what would be an upgrade options that would be around the $450 mark? There is not a lot of room in the case for anything much larger than a dual fan card. Is there any benefit in doing this? I only game on this PC and it's mostly MMORPGs with the occasional skyrim, halo or for honor session. Also would my Asus gold 750w power supply be enough? I have a lot of rgb peripherals and added a water cooler. Or should I upgrade to the Asus 850 platinum? Thanks in advance for any help or advise. Side note. Working on cable management.

Hi there! i bought a (prebuilt) custom pc just before i went to university back in 2012(ish) and it had a Nvidia GT 640 inside, which was cool I suppose, only wanted it for uni work and maybe a few steam games and LoL at the time, so it was perfect at the time (and cheap!) but now it's bit lacking when it comes to...you know...everything! I'm looking for a cheapish upgrade, and was thinking a GTX 780 Ti. It's now to play LoL still (im a sucker, i know) and maybe some CoD Warzone. I have 16GB of RAM, an AMD FX 4100 Quad Core which i think should (just) be able to handle those games. Any advice? Cheers.

what are the differences besides a higher clock speed? Is it worth buying the ultra over the regular? Can't I just overclock the regular to match the 1845Mhz of the ultra? Thank y'all in advance! EVGA GeForce RTX 2080 Super XC vs EVGA GeForce RTX 2080 Super XC ULTRA

Dear Community Is there a way to set up nvidia surround with 3 monitors where one of the monitors is connected to the Mainboard? I can run them all as seperated displays with no problems as I have activated IDG Multi-Monitor in the BIOS. The problem is that one of my displaycables is too short to reach the back of the graphicscard. I have already tried it with no additional tools and the display is not showing in the surround setup process. I could just buy a longer cable, but now I am just genuinly interrested if there is way in doing this. I have also tried HeliosDisplayManagement with no luck. (works if all monitors are connected with the graphicscard) Happy to hear from you, where there is hope, there is a way. Stay healthy

Need some assistance before i chuck my monitor out the window. Everything worked fine on my second monitor then today. NOTHING. The monitor powers on and displays no signal detected (I've tried swapping the cables and booting it up with just that monitor plugged in still have the same issue) Windows display settings and Nvidia settings detect the monitor but windows says it isn't active and Nvidia wont let me tick the box on setup multiple displays. Booted the pc up in safe mode... All pops up fine in 680x480 resolution and can access the monitor settings now. But still nothing when I load the pc back up normally! Main monitor ROG PG348q Second monitor XB280HK GPU 180TI Any help is much appreciated.

Yes I know this has been answered 100 million times but I’m coming here to get the most up-to-date information in 2020. over the past few months I’ve gotten all the parts to build my new PC on a Ryzen 5 3600 and MSI B450 Pro Carbon AC and 16GB of Trident Z 3200Mhz Ram. The last part I need is a new GPU and yes the prices right now are astronomical... I’m wondering what the best GPU for me would to run 1080p at 144 Hz? An RTX 2060 Super MSI Gaming X 8GB or an RTX 2070 MSI Gaming Z 8GB. I would also be willing to be the equivalents in ASUS and EVGA. I play games such as GTA 5, Modern Warfare, Cyberpunk 2077 (when it comes out). And other similar games

Hi! so one of my current PCs has a rather small microATX case with horrible airflow but I dont want to ditch the case, so would getting a video card with a blower/reference style cooler benefit me? Right now I have an Asus GTX 770 with the 3rd party DirectCU II cooler and when I play games like battlefield 4 or run minecraft with shaders, the GPU temps are around 80-83c, which is around reference temps but the other components in the case are getting quite toasty along with the card since the card exhausts the air back into the case which only has one 92mm exhaust fan.. Plus when the side panel is closed, I think the card is recycling the hot air that is stuck in the case. My question is that would it make more sense for me to trade my Asus GTX 770 card for a reference style GTX 770 to reduce down temps and stress on other components. here is the amount of clearance that my GTX 770 has to breath.

I really wanted to upgrade my Gtx 660ti to something that can play 1080p games for next 2 or so years. I have been doing research about amd rx480 and gtx 1060 , and looking what is more future ready than each other. And recently there have been some rumors about 1060ti and rx580 , so what are the advantage i am going to get if i decide to wait ? and also I am really confused with two options of nvidia and amd .
