Hello! I'm looking for a solution for my incredibly first world problem. I have two phones, one of them is my private and that has an LG GWatch Urbane Connected to it. However i need something for my work phone. I have a kind of phase at my workplace where i need to know almost instantly if i recieve a new email or calendar invite. Therefore i need a device that does nothing else but vibrates and displays lights (preferably with a comfigurable rgb led for each type of notificaton.) and does not have any other function at all. Or if it has than it can be turned off or easily ignored. Thanks in Advance

I think the standard windows 10 notifications are a bit dull. I just stumbled upon this video: , and this guy has some custom notifications going on. I searched around a bit, but I haven't been able to find anything similar. Do you know about any software for this? //Vemund Kremund

Sorry if this is in the wrong subsection. I didn't know if this was a suggestion or what? On the notification settings, why can't you toggle receive desktop notifications when you receive a message or someone was added into the message? https://imgur.com/jlMdRao Is this to cut down on spam or what because I don't have the forum opened 24/7 and this would be helpful.

Hey guys so I've been having an issue with my samsung s6 for the past 2 or 3 weeks where all my notifications don't seem to be working correctly ( I should note this issue is only with apps i have downloaded not with apps that already came with my phone so i receive text messages and calls just fine) When my screen is on sometimes notifications will show up at the top of my screen but disappear after half a second apps include email, group me, facebook etc. then when i pull down my notification trey there's nothing there none of my notifications are on the notification trey (except txt and phone calls). Also when my phone is off in my pocket and i happen to receive a notification from some app i get a very light vibration from my phone (its the only way I've been able to know that i have a notification) of course when i check my lock screen there's nothing there (when there really is). Here are the solutions i have tried so far 1. Check and see if my notifications are turned on (yes they are) 2. Update samsung push notification (its up to date) 3. Make sure wifi is always on during sleep mode (it is) 4. Uninstall and reinstall apps that don't give me my notifications ( did that) 5. Restarted phone (of course i did that) 6. Is sync turned on? (it is) 7. Is everything up to date? (it is) I'm trying to avoid having to reset my phone because i have a lot of stuff on it at the moment (well not a lot of stuff, more like a small amount of important stuff and accounts that will a huge hassle to redo) If anyone could help or has any more suggestions i could try it would really be help full. Thank you.

Hey guys, I've been through some grief trying to get these emails back into my inbox, I've hopefully found the solution and thought I would fish for additional insight or comments. I know Linus has complained about this in the past about you'll get less emails if you're less "engaged" in a subbed channel...I don't know if this is true since I haven't personally seen an instance of that (one exception below), but I pretty much watch every video I'm subbed to, including LTT. The one small exception is a gradeAunderA video criticizing runway fashion -- I'm subbed to a few "uppity" runway model fashion channels so Google probably figured I don't want to hear criticism about it -- regardless I still found the video hilarious. Now, for youtube live events (like exciting spacex webcasts or boring white house press briefings), try going into your notifications preferences on youtube, scroll down (and expand any controls) -- if you see "A YouTube Live Event is starting soon....resume", then click "resume." If you don't see this option, then I'm assuming you have that enabled by default. On twitch, in my case my twitch account is linked to a yahoo address and then forwarded to my gmail. Turns out the problem is that yahoo now considers these twitch notifications to be "spam" and will NOT forwarded them to external addresses like gmail (via pop3/imap.) I logged into my yahoo account manually and found a bunch of legit twitch notifications in the spam folder, marked them as "not spam" and then additionally added the sender address (I forgot the exact name, it's something like no-reply@twitch.tv or something) to my yahoo address book -- that theoretically forces yahoo to treat these as "important" inbox emails and will then forward them on to any external address you have setup your yahoo mail account settings. Hope this guide was informative. Comments appreciated.

First off: i7 6700k 1080 founders 730W power supply 32gb DDR4 ram Drivers all updated So no matter what game i play (mainly overwatch), whenever i get a notification from teamspeak(someone sending a link), a skype message, a steam message in the overlay, my antivirus reminding me that they want my money, my frames per second drop from about 120 to around 90. I'm using a 144Hz G-sync monitor so you'd think that it wouldnt matter that much. It's not the nice kind of 90 fps though, thats just what the counter says. It will actually display about 10-15 fps for 4-5 seconds or till i open up the new message or close the antivirus pop-up. I had this problem too with my old hardware, thats why i upgraded it so maybe it'd stop. I'm 99% sure that this is a software issue, did i mess up somewhere? is there a setting somewhere in windows / my drivers that give priority to notifications instead of games? none of my friends seem to have this problem.

As I'm sure many of you are aware, notifications and automatic updates to upgrade to Windows 10 have been plaguing the pc world for the past year. A live weather broadcast was interrupted, countless people have had data loss or system bricking on update, and Microsoft has still not fixed this issue. Finally though Microsoft says they will begin razing out the notifications and auto updates starting July 27. I do find it irritating however that they are only removing the notifications because of they're removal of the free upgrade; offering a free upgrade and pestering users with notifications is two totally separate things, and Microsoft should have treated them as such. "for now Microsoft is saying the notifications will end on July 29th." source- http://www.theverge.com/2016/5/6/11606392/microsoft-windows-10-upgrade-notification-going-away

In the old version of the forum there was an option to clear your notification list. I used that feature a lot because when following a thread you tend to get a lot of notifications and i like to keep things tidy. Over the course of the last few weeks i have been trying to find the clear button for the notifications but could not find it. So the question is: is there still an option to clear the notification list or has that functionality been removed?

Hello internets, So I recently came into possession of an original Galaxy Gear, and have been using it with my Galaxy S6. My problem is that so far, I only seem to be able to get SMS notifications, no Gmail, Facebook, or the many other third party apps that I have selected for notifications in the Gear Manager App. I've searched high and low all over for a solution to this problem, and having come up very empty, am now turning to the forum. Does anyone have any idea? The watch is running the latest firmware possible (checked in Gear Manager) and the settings in the Manager are all what they should be. Cheers in advance.

I noticed that on any post that I make, that I don't receive any notifications whenever someone post something to my post. Why is that? Also, whats the difference between notify me of updates and notify immediately.

Lights, Smartwatch, Action: Android Wear notifications come to Pebble (Release Notes) Pebble will have the possibility to replay and act on notifications from the watch. Also pebble users will be able to be part of the beta by joining the testing group.

You can now use the Android Wear notifications on Pebble with a new fimware update. You can now answer text messages with emoticons and stuff. Heres the post on their blog: https://blog.getpebble.com/2014/12/16/ad-23/ Here are two videos showing off the new functionality:

Is there a way to move where these pop up? I have a strange arrangement where I have my aux screen set as the main monitor which is off to the right with my taskbar on my actual main monitor which is to the front (the taskbar on the aux monitor only has what's on that monitor on it). The desktop notifications pop up in the bottom right corner of the aux monitor so unless I'm looking at least towards the right side of my main monitor I'll completely miss em and since I use Pushbullet to receive and send texts via PC, it's annoying. Can this be done?

Sorry to bother you guys but i hadn't checked the LTT for two days and now i find out there is a massive amount of notifications (4,253) so i want to know if there's any way to filter the Antec giveaway's or just deleting everything, i've over 90 pages and it's insane to do it this way.

Hey everyone! So for about a week now I've been getting these notifications on my phone for facebook. All it says is facebook and when i go there, there is nothing there. 2 of my friends are getting the same thing. Does anyone know what it's about?
-
Just a suggestion - it might be a good idea to group notifications for replies to the same thread into one. This would be more convenient than receiving 100 notifications because loads of people replied to a popular thread Also, is it possible to have a scrolling notification bar so that we don't need to click "view all notifications"? Again, just a suggestion

Looking for a Chrome version instead? linusforsell has the perfect addon for you, and it's even official! Don't feel like reading through the entire post? Download the addon This addon will not work with the current or any future builds of Firefox, and that will not be changing. This extension is now completely end of life. Features: Near instant updates when you get a forum notification or PM Updates when Linus or Luke go live on Twitch, or when a video is uploaded to the LinusTechTips, TechQuickie or Channel Superfun YouTube channels Extensive customisation options - you can disable almost anything Supported Applications: Firefox 36+. Other *fox forks (such as Waterfox) should work, but I only test using Firefox (mostly Nightly and Developer Editions). E10S (electrolysis, process separation) should be fully supported by the addon. Download the addon
