  1. Visual Basic Excel Bug

    So I downloaded this Excel thingy that generates reports for my students. I modified the file around to adjust it for myself. The funny thing is that the program stopped working properly for some reason even though I didn't touch the code. I was hoping you could help me out. I modified some stuff in excel, but I don't see anything that is interfering with the code. The modified one is the one with all the mexican names. ¡VIVA MÉXICO! 2. So I decided to build my first PC since I am now able to purchase one. https://pcpartpicker.com/list/6x7HXH this is my current set up but it says there is a problem: "The motherboard M.2 slot #1 shares bandwidth with a SATA 6.0 Gb/s port. When the M.2 slot is populated, one SATA 6.0 Gb/s port is disabled." I'm not really sure how to fix this and get the most out of my system. My budget is roughly $3000-3200 including 2 monitors. My main goal for this build is mainly Gaming at HD or Ultra HD such as Far Cry 3, Crysis 2, CoD, League of Legends, and skyrim. I would like to connect 3 (4 once I upgrade later on) monitors all together. Windows 10 will be my operating system. Any help and advice is appreciated
  3. I have 3 builds that I am looking at. Just wanted some peoples thoughts on which one is the best. Option 1: Prebuilt system from MSY http://www.msy.com.au/viconline/mspec-gaming-pc/20266-mspec-infinity-gaming-system-amd-edition.html Option 2: PC Partpicker build guide https://au.pcpartpicker.com/guide/xDNnTW/gaming-streaming-and-editing-build Option three: This thing https://au.pcpartpicker.com/list/CZyZhq I need this pc mostly for multimedia purposes, although I would like to start playing more games. Ideally I want to be able to run 3D rendering programs smoothly, edit large premiere pro/after effects files and play games like PUBG with good frame rate on highish settings. My budget is about 2.5k AUD but isn't set in stone. Please let me know if you need any more info.

  8. This is basically my first gaming build or any other build tbh. It's basically the first PC I'll be getting. No it's not like don't know anything about 'em, I have been using an ultra book for 5 years or so, anyways I've been waiting for this a long time! So hey fellas! This is my first post here too (sorry if I sound like a excited 12 year old girl, but I am pretty excited!) I did all the research alone and chose the parts without anyone telling me about 'em. In the end thought to myself I just can't go with everything without consulting with other people you know? I hate to admit that most of the people around me are too.. let's say primitive. To them a 1200$ PC is just unimaginable and most of them use 150-200$ PC (yeah I ain't kidding). So you can guess how difficult it is for me to get all these parts that I want. Even amazon doesn't ship to where I am. I have to use third party companies that were just recently launched to bring items from USA. Yes, which means for the support of the products I'll be getting next to none I guess. Either way it's a bargain I'm willing to take. Let's just get on with. Here's my build's permalink - https://pcpartpicker.com/list/RszqCy Okay I'll be commenting on the different parts and why I chose them now; The CPU - First all I always try not to be a Bandwagon. I understand people choosing the same thing because it's good not just because everyone is buying it. I believe if it's going to be something that I'm gonna own for myself, gonna make with my own hands and most of all gonna use my money to buy something? It has to be something out of the ordinary. Ryzen has broken records and it has long since broken my sleep and made a point saying *I'm here to stay*. So yeap, I know it's childish yeap :3 CPU Cooler - First of all I don't like things that will keep me on the edge and one day fail and I'd be in deep sh*t for it. I idolize the phrase "Plug & Play". Also for budget reasons I choose the CR R1 and also because it looks badass unlike the ugly a** Noctua meh. The Mobo - I know most of you might say "If you're towards a budget set up why go for a x370?" Well, it's obvious that in future I'd like to upgrade and use two cards with Nvidia SLI. I did at first go for the B350 edition but to me it was only 20$ difference so, I basically went "Why not?" and decided on the x370. RAM - Well.. I don't know. WHAT RAM SHOULD I GET FOR MY RYZEN 5!? I simply got the answer from reddit *A ram with higher Mhz*. Is that all I need? Odd and pricey argh (source - https://community.amd.com/community/gaming/blog/2017/03/14/tips-for-building-a-better-amd-ryzen-system) SSD m.2 - Yeah. Buying a 1000+$ Rig why compromise on speed? That's what I thought when I chose it that is SSHD - I already have a SSD then why also a SSHD you ask? Well I was going to buy WD 1TB Black but then I realized the difference was only 10$. So it hit me, *Why not?*. GPU - Okay EVGA is the one to go for I know everyone in Reddit seems to idolize them I too would've gone for the same but didn't because Amazon is still selling the 1070s without any thermal padding and as I have mentioned above that I will not be getting any support most likely and thus I chose not to take a risk and just go for something that's reputable and reliable and the answer was Zotac. (BTW I really hate the yellow accent like wtf mate?) Case - Will this really be a question? I simply saw a review of it and fell in, love haven't looked the other way since. (source - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=moJbyLbyGFA) PSU - Because jonnyguru said so. Although I did calculate on the coolermasters watt calculator page and I had a recommendation of 550W. So when Checking amazon I noticed that the price for the 550W was 79.99, for the 650W was 135$ and very oddly enough for the 750W it was only 89.99$ and by now you know how I chose it :3 yeap "Why not?". Will this effect my PC or will this 10$ be a good investment? I have plans for upgrading my rig in the far future with whatever I start with. Monitor - This monitor is weirdly overpriced in Amazon for some reason. Luckily after I snooped around the retail shops here I found the exact same monitor but at only 160$ compared to Amazon that's 60$ less! Case Fans - I'll be adding Dual Thermaltake CL-F048-PL14RE-A RIING 140mm Red LED HSP on the top side for exhaust, I included this here because pcpartpicker.com doesn't seem to have them in their list and this unique cheap yet cool 120mm fan for the rear exhaust (source - https://www.amazon.com/Asiahorse-Eclipse-MIRAGE-Cooling-Compute/dp/B06XYTD6T6/ref=sr_1_sc_1?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1508099818&sr=1-1-spell&keywords=asianhorse%2Bpwm%2B120mm&th=1) As you can see even thought it's a budget friendly approach I'm not willing to sacrifice performance any time that being said I'd really love to squeeze some extra cash out of this so that I'd be still able to buy a headphone or invest in a cooler desk for this beast~ Well that kind of wraps up everything I wanted to say and comment on. I hope people will have the patience to read through 'em and help me out, for that I'll really appreciate it TIA :')
  9. I had a question regarding whether or not the Ryzen 3 1200 is able to handle my tasks. This build is mainly for school, and light gaming. My budget is around 500-600 USD. My tasks are usually just normal web use, occasional gaming, and occasional light room edits. Games I usually play are Maplestory, CSGO, Overwatch, League, and I usually only purchase 1 Triple A title a year. Heres, my list for parts. Not sure if it's good enough https://pcpartpicker.com/list/rXB8pb Also, I was planning on purchasing this from Bestbuy originally, just want your input on this well. https://www.bestbuy.com/site/cyberpowerpc-gamer-ultra-desktop-amd-ryzen-5-1400-8gb-memory-amd-radeon-rx-580-1tb-hard-drive-black/5833100.p?skuId=5833100
  10. So guys here is the basic jist, I have yet another system coming up. Now to be fairly honest I'm probably not building this at all until volta, that's the most likely way I am going with this. However, I have a number of watercooling concerns I want to address. For the first 3 months I am only going to be cooling the cpu in a custom loop and later adding the gpu as I quite like the look of AIB coolers, but I will eventually take the leap with that too. I wanted you guys to take a look at this parts list, I can assume its probably absolutely terrible and some of you are probably laughing incredibly hard. However I have never so much as touched watercooling before and I'm jumping right in at the deep end. (The case I am going to be using is the CM H500P) My main questions are: Are these parts compatible? I want to use red aurora coolant, opinions? Mounting, I have no idea how to mount any of these, or if mounts are included etc. How many fittings would I need? I just slapped on what ever really. I'm using the ROG board that comes with the mono-block, so no need to advise me to get a CPU block unless the rog one is terrible then please do so? I've heard you need to clean and flush all the parts first? how would I do this? The reservoir says the top should only be used as a fill port, does that mean I can not use it as an inlet? what are the problems with that? Finally advise me on if my mounting order/path is possible if/and/or needs to be corrected The mounting order is as follows. First I want the pump just next to the motherboard, probably about 6cm from the sata ports, underneath it the pump, and the radiator at the top of the case. How would I manage this? Oh and of course the bay reservoir would be fitted in the 5.25" bay, but I'm not sure if I'm going ahead with that 100% yet all depends on your guys advice.
  11. Free Windows 10 Edu on new build?

    Hello, I'm a new member, also a noob at building PCs. But I've decided to finally build my first PC. I had a question regarding Windows 10 Education. I qualify for a free copy of it thanks to my University. But I'm not sure if I can use that free copy and use it as an OS for my new build. However, If I could, do you guys happen to know how I can use the free copy and install it into my new build? Thanks!
  12. Hi all! Go team Linus! PC building noob here, but one with ample ambition. Pls help a fellow out! So, I have a budget of <3K USD for my first-ever-time build. If anyone out here could help me navigate this clusterfuck of an info field of endless options, I would be really most grateful. First, allow me to bore you with some TLDR bs. (feel free to skip this part) So, in summary: Use-cases: (n.b.: case 2 can be used with all other cases, 3 - with all but 1st one, 1, 4 and 5 will never run with each other) AAA Gaming @ [planning to get a 1440p ultrawide] (I am currently sporting a BENQ XL2730 Freesync monitor: I know, I know, I was hyped about Vega too) Heavy web browsing and watching a ton of YT, Netflix, Twitch and the likes MacOS on VM Adobe Ps/Ai/Id, a bit of 3D design Video encoding probably as well every now and then. Desired build features: Quiet & cool operation (I’ve had a longstanding watercooling fetish for years, but I’m not certain I have it in me to make a custom loop this first time I ever build a PC. AIO packages seem more promising) 32GB RAM (I’m not sure if I will ever need 64GB or even 32GB for my aforementioned use cases within the lifespan of the hardware, feel free to advise me on that) 1080ti 11Gb for graphics with an open exhaust config I do want the Samsung 960 EVO 500GB M.2 SSD (hence, need an M.2 NVME-compatible slot on mobo) Also, I would like to have a spare PCIe x16 hub for a second 1080ti in SLI when time comes. (in mb 1-2 years’ time) Major support for USB 3.1, type C and if Intel, Thunderbolt 3 Well, aesthetics are a big factor too, so RGB is also a plus, cause I expect my PC to rest on top of my table (not just to show off, but also cause central heating runs all below my work desk for like half of every year), so it better look badass. I would like a predominantly blue - dark blue palette on the future system. My experience: I put an aftermarket M.2 Sata SSD on an adapter into my Mac recently and that’s about as much computer hardware tech fixing experience as I’ve had. Nevertheless, I feel pretty comfortable with the whole concept and am able to follow instructions to the letter. (Big LEGO fans will get me). I am also very friendly with the IT dpt at my company, so they should be able to give me some tools, general unobtrusive guidance and fix some noob mistakes as I'm building this thing. What I don’t need Much storage. Aside from the 500GB M.2 SSD I would only get maybe 1TB internal HDD tops. I’ve got extra storage now Any other peripherals. Here’s a build I assembled on PCPP based around Ryzen 7 1800X. I assume it would be plenty good enough for all of the aforementioned use-cases, but I am mainly wondering about two things: 1) Is it really worth getting a CoffeeLake I7 and an Intel-based build vs the Ryzen one? Thunderbolt support is not enough of a selling point for me here, but extra budget probably would be 2) Is there a way to make my build cheaper without perceptively sacrificing performance in the use tasks above? I do have $3K to spare, but you know, it always feels better to stay under rather than float on top of the budget Some more questions: 1) Is the 960 EVO (not PRO) I chose an NVME SSD? 2) [Mentioned above] Is 32GB RAM too much for me? I've been sitting at 8GB for a long time, so I might be too emotional with my pick 3) Is it worth making a custom watercooling loop with a 1080ti Poseidon f/ex for better performance and/or OC and/or money savings? 4) Will my PCPP hardware fit in the case I selected? I am respectful to every opinion and I am very detail-oriented, so don’t hesitate to throw too much info out there at me. I like that shit Thank you all in advance for taking your time reading this and maybe helping me as well. I really appreciate and respect what this community has been able to achieve.

  14. Rack Mount Idea?

    ~~~~~~~~~~SOLVED~~~~~~~~~~
  15. A couple days ago i pulled the trigger on an Acer XG270HU (27" 1440p 144hz TN) upgrading from an old Samsung SyncMaster 2333HD (23?" 1080p 60hz). I'm currently using both monitors, unfortunately i think my build is somewhat under-powered to use the monitor i bought. With the new monitor Rainbow six looks great and i don't see any problems, but pubg only looks good provided i limit myself to crawling (sneakySnake), if i move around too quickly i get screen tearing. OS: Windows 10 CPU: Intel i5-4690k @ 3.50GHz Cooler: Corsair H100i Mother Board: Asus Z97-AR Ram: Evga 16G 2400 DDR3 Graphics Card: Gigabyte GTX 970 G1 Power: Corsair RM750 When i built my computer, about two years ago, a friend recommended i get certain parts to be overclock friendly. When he explained overclocking to me it sounded like a good idea so i got the parts he recommended. When i built my PC i never went through the flaming hoops (overclocking the cpu and gpu). Now it seems like i have to get every little bit out of my machine. Im hoping someone can recommend me some software to use for monitoring CPU / GPU temperature and usage levels. I am also not sure i understand how stress testing works; both the program(s) to use and if i am able to use that same program for the CPU and the GPU or if ill need to load two different programs. And lastly i was carious about the pro's and cons of going directly into Bios to overclock or using another program to do it. I know the list is long but i am largely ignorant of the finer details of computers and would prefer not to brick my machine, id like it to last at least another year. Thank you for any and all help. P.S My apologies to the mod's if this post isn't in the right place.
  16. Greetings LTT!
  17. Help with my first pc build
    Hi friends from LTT I'm new to the "pc" world, I was mostly a console "peasant" (insert pc master race joke) because I didn't want to take the risk of buying/making my own pc, thanks to all the information that Linus and the team gave me through the YouTube channels, I decided to start my project, obviously with nice components and all that good stuff (including RGB). I started this project since may by comparing parts, watching what was good and a lot of amazon and newegg research, I bought my pieces and carefully put it together and it worked.. but not as expected. pc parts: https://pcpartpicker.com/user/cris399/saved/MWD8K8 Everything is working perfectly but as you can tell by the title, i didn't came here to show you my pc -----------video to see the problem, please watch before reading my second part---------- -----------video to see the problem, please watch before reading my second part---------- First: when I turn on my pc, the rgb in the motherboard turns on, It is supposed to work like that? second: the power on button isn't working, I don't know where it goes Third: pc starting from the usb 2.0 port (yes, If you saw the video you'll understand) And that's basically it, I really need help with this, I don't know if it was "obvious" because as I said, This is my first pc building Any kind of help will be appreciated thanks Edit: I know it doesn't have agraphics card (it will arrive soon) but I don't think it has something to interfere in the principal problem
  18. I'm looking to build a pc that i can play league with, budget will be £200-£300 and i need someone to help my through the whole process D:
  19. Hi, I'm new to PC building and I am coming from a PS4 console to PC, I have tried to learn by watching Youtube videos but I am struggling to find all the right parts does anyone think the below is any good or can anyone see any mistakes with what I may buy? CPU - INTEL I5 6600K, MOBO - ASUS Z170 GAMING PRO GPU - MSI GTX 1060 GPU OR A 1070 CPU COOLER - COOLER MASTER HYPER 212X CASE - NZXT S340 BLACK POWER SUPPLY - UNKNOWN RAM - UNKNOWN KEYBOARD - CORSAIR K95 PLATINUM CURRENT TV - 32INCH SONY BRAVIA KDL-32RD433 CURRENT MOUSE - RAZER DEATH ADDER CHROMA Does anyone have any advice in regards to this E.G do they work together or would anyone recommend anything different? Does anyone also recommend a decent 32inch monitor for this build? I'm used to a and do not want to have to get used to a smaller screen even if it is much better. I mainly just want to game at 1080P i'm not currently bothered about 4K and would rather focus more on high FPS at 1080P or maybe 1440P when/if I get a high end monitor. My budget is between £800 - £1200 excluding peripherals I will try to buy most things around Christmas time in the hopes I may find better deals. *I understand the GPU can't use SLI not certian if I would actually need/want two. Thanks in advance!
  20. Hi, im a Hobbyist that would like to setup a server in his basement. Is it theoretically possible to set up ubuntu server to simultaniously work as NAS and Operrating system (4 users) ? And if that is possible, how difficult would it be to add other applications (Host,...) ? Id also like to note that I 1.) am a total Linux noob (no experience in bash, shell, ...) and 2.) am from germany, so i may get some words wrong thanks for helping
  21. Cant reach maximum refresh rate anymore
I did research and some speculated that its a feautre for low input lag. i want to turn it off but dont know what its called. I have a 2k 144hz monitor and i have played at 144hz at 2k on the monitor before. i just want to make use of 144hz screen were i can. on benchmarkers same thing. help
  23. Sound Questions
    Hello, I am a sound noob in terms of hardware other than gaming headsets. I want to amp it up and have better audio for music and gaming. I was wondering what I should look for? An external DAC or an internal card or something else. I have a budget of ~$200 less is preferred. I was looking at ASUS and Creative Sound as potential choices for example: Sound BlasterX G5 Sound Blaster Zx Sound BlasterX AE-5 STRIX RAID PRO I am planning to pair this with a Logitech G433 as my gaming headset and am looking for a decent set of audiophile head phones and have no budget for this yet but suggestions are welcome! Thanks!
