Hi, I'm building my first ever pc. I've spent some time doing reaserch but I'm still not sure if I did everything right and If that pc build is the best option for my budget, wchich is under £700. I am asking you to check it and give me some advice for cheap improvments or better alternatives. •Gtx 1050ti •Amd ryzen 5 1400 •Msi B350 Gaming pro •Kingston HyperX 2133mghz (2x4) •WD blue 1tb •Kingston UV400 ssd 120gb •Corsair VS450 •AeroCool 300 Thanks a lot.

Okay, I just put together this PC, didn't really know what I was doing, but would really want someone's opinion with this before I actually buy the parts. https://pcpartpicker.com/list/9JGKCy That's the link.

I'd like to play with csgo players who are also looking for a friend to play with and not bothered about experience levels. No trashtalking, screaming, etc. Just chill... I'm silver II, very noob I'm 19 (and not talkative..) Doesn't matter where you're from or how old you are but please, be a bit mature.. Just friends, no romantic feelings or whatsoever. Steam Profile thanks ~ I lag most of the time tho due to slow wifi :[ I sometimes can only play at midnight..

Hello I need to upgrade my computer I was thinking to just buy a new graphic card instead of buying a new computer but I don't know if it's worth it with the spec I have. And the graphic card I was thinking of buying is gtx 2070. What do you recommend guys? ---- Cpu i7-4770K motherboard: Asus Maximus VI Formula ram: 16gb ---- sorry for my English.

I've found a few 1080's used from 370-400... Is it worth it or should I spend the extra 100 on a rtx 2070?

Will they work? I just need 8GB of ram for most games and decent storage space.

Hello guys , can you please Tell me where does this cable goes , in with one of this slots, thanks ! It is a cable with one wire and 3 holes to plug it in something , sorry i don’t know how to call it , lol , it’s from the cpu cooler
-
My cooler master mwe 750 gold came with a single CPU ATX cable it has 3 (4 if you decouple the 4+4) plugs instead of 2 I know one goes to the psu but I want to make sure the this is a compatibility thing and not like my mother board is supposed to have another header. It is the X570 AORUS elite wifi and only has a single 8 pin CPU header. I just want to make sure it will not be too much power for the header or something. If the photo is not clear the (4+4) come out of the 8 pin Do I just plug in the 8 pin (it fits perfectly) and hide the additional (4+4)? Also if this is the wrong place sorry, I wasn't sure what exactly a cable question would be classified as.

Hello, I'm planning to build my first PC instead of going with a prebuilt. I'm planning to pull the trigger during this week/next week, but would still prefer to have other people who have an idea of what they are doing to do a sanity and compatibility check on the setup I'm going for! A little background about me: I'm an university student on his 5th semester in Computer Science. The new PC is in no way needed for what I'm doing in my studies, for that my Laptop is more than enough. It has a I5-7200U and a Geforce 940MX. The thing is, I do own another prebuilt ACER, i5-3450 and a geforce 620 or something like that. And since my laptop is slightly better than my desktop, I haven't turned it on in a long time, and I've been using my laptop for gaming, which is killing it's battery... But even so, my gaming experience on that laptop isn't that great. The titles I try to play in a regular basis, it can handle them only barely (KSP or GTA 5), others, like Cities Skylines, it lacks the performance and is way too frustrating to enjoy, and other beefier titles that it can't even run (Project Cars). Thus, I actually need a better PC badly. Unfortunately, there is nothing that I can salvage from my current desktop, so a whole new system it has to be^^' For the last whole year I've been thinking about what I would like from my system and I ended up with the few next points: a) A system based around a ryzen 5 3600 and a radeon RX 5700 XT. That is at a price point that I'm comfortable with and anything that is any stronger starts getting into overkill territory^^' b) A quiet setup (Yeah, there will be lots of parts from Be Quiet!) c) Tempered Glass + RGB. Addressable on top of that, that can be controlled by the motherboard. 1. Budget & Location I'm from Luxemburg (middle of europe) and the currency here is the Euro. My location actually has a huge impact on the retailers I can choose from, as there is none in the country(that I know of) which sells PC parts, and even amazon is pretty often a pain with delivering to my country... in the end, I found this business that ships here, so I'll be getting all parts from there. As for budget, I'm pretty flexible, 3k being a value I simply cannot go over, and preferring to stay under 2K euros. 2. Aim The main aim of this system is gaming. The bare minimum I would like, is to be able to play GTA 5 at 60 FPS at high to very high graphical settings on a 1080 or 1440 panel(more about that on the next point). Being able to record my gameplay is a great plus, mostly because I'm starting to casually speedrun GTA. Other games I play/would like to play: KSP(single thread cpu heavy), Cities Skylines(multithread cpu heavy), Project Cars (GPU intensive?), minecraft (*shrug*). As for my studies, there is nothing in particular that I would need from this system. I do plan on try my hands on Overclocking this system, even though, I doubt I'll be able to push it far, mostly because of thermals. 3. Monitors Right now I own only a 1080p@60Hz panel. I do not plan to buy anything new right now, mostly because I'm waiting to have a better idea of what I actually would need. But most probably, I might go for a ultra wide, curved, high refresh rate, 1440p monitor during the next year. Right now, my current monitor is used as a secondary display for my laptop, which is highly helpfull while programming. But my current desk does not allow to have 2 separate monitors. 4. Peripherals For peripherals, I won't need anything at all. The keyboard, mouse and headset i own aren't great, but good enough for now. As for an OS, I need to check if I still get a free key for a Windows 10 pro for free as a student benefit. (This might have changed recently) In the end, I came up with this part list. I'm going through my thoughts for each part. CPU Ryzen 5 3600: Good overall cpu for its price. High core count, which is great for game capture and some titles. Clock speeds aren't great, but it should be more than enough most of the time. In the end, the question is, is this cpu a bottleneck to a radeon RX 5700 XT? From my research, the answer seems to be no, but would still prefer someone else's opinion. CPU Cooler Dark Rock Pro 4: Huge. Ram clearance needs always to be checked. And I gave up on RGB RAM, as it would hide most of it anyway, unless I would move a fan to the back side of the tower. At 250W TDP it is more than overkill for a 65W TDP cpu. I'm banking mostly on the fact that this tower will already make a good job cooling the cpu while the fans are at low rpm. Noise levels are here my biggest concern. I would prefer to avoid AIO's here.(More points of failure, possibly more noise even when cpu at lower temperature because of pump) Motherboard Asus ROG Strix X570-F Gaming vs Asus ROG Strix X470-F Gaming: Here, the main source I used to make a choice for a board partner, was a rant video about motherboards made by BuildZoid. It was about x470 (as the x570 didn't exist yet). In summary, I got from it: MSI, great VRM cooling, lacks an interesting overclocking ability/setting. Gigabyte, very bad VRM cooling, if any at all, great bios. Asus, bad cooling on high-end boards, pretty cheap on VRM phases(thus, less reliable power delivery to cpu). What made me ultimately choose asus over the other was aura RGB, and it's ability to sync with compatible RGB peripherals. And I chose the x470-f gaming specifically because if was the cheapest asus board with aRGB headers(Something I would like badly). When Ryzen 3000der cpu's became a thing, The question arised about going for a x570 or not. I decided to go for it mostly because of two reasons: I cannot risk getting a x470 whose bios does not support ryzen 3000er cpu's. I won't have any way to flash another bios by my own, I don't know anyone who owns an ryzen near me. And furthermore, the x570 has better VRM and VRM cooling, which is more likely to handle the CPU. Having PCIE 4.0 was never a real selling point for me anyway, even less so considering the NVME storage I plan to use, as it could force whole motherboard to use just PCIE 3.0 protocols. Memory I'm planning to go for 2 x 8 Gb at 3200Mhz CL16. Because of the cooler, I gave up on RGB memory. In the end, the exact brand of ram used doesn't matter to me (I just like the look of trident Z RGB, but well, it will be hidden). I picked the ones above because they are way cheaper than other kits, and the only difference I can find, is on their timing. Finally, on Ryzen's Memory Compatibility List , i couldn't find this specific kit. Is that a problem or can I ignore that? Storage There isn't much to comment on the HDD. 2T, 7200 rpm, 256mb cache, seems to be good for it's price. For the NVME there are still some open questions though. From what I understood, using any device that is compatible with PCIE 3.0, will force all lanes into PCIE 3.0 protocols, and, even though this NVME just uses 4 lanes, it will still force GPU to use only half of the 16 lanes that the GPU could have used instead. The first question is then, considering those two points, would that bottleneck an RX 5700 XT? If yes, what are my solutions that are not going for a Sata SSD? Finally, I'm going for a 1TB NVME mostly to be able to have both windows and ubuntu on it, and on top of that, some of my most played games. (very bad experience dual booting on my laptop, as it has just 120 on it's SSD + 1T HHD. Storage on SSD is always a problem) GPU I would prefer a RX 5700 XT. Going for a 2070 seems to be a bit of a waste, mostly because I doubt that I will be able to make good use of it's performance. The exact card in question doesn't matter that much to me. I'll just avoid any blower design like the pest, as they are very ineffective, and overheating becomes a real problem on those cards. I chose the the Saphire Pulse since I've read only good things about that card. Case The Dark Base 900 rev.2 might be the second biggest sink of my money that gives no performance at all(right after everything related to RGB). And on top of that, taking into account a video done by Gamer Nexus concerning noise levels of a high airflow case vs a noise dampening case, a high airflow case with bequiet fans is the better option. But even so, while I was trying to create part lists under a strict budget, I would always try to force this specific case into it, making the rest of the build somewhat underwhelming. (This case in a 900€ Budget build? Totally not worth it!) In the end, I'm so fixated on that case that I fear that, if I settle down for a cheaper case, I'll just end up still buying the 900 six months later, and thus the money spent on the cheaper case would be wasted. The main reasons why I would like this case is: Style and Size. I do like the look of the one with the silver accents and the fact that it is huge (I might even been underestimating how big that it is...) Other features of that case are for the most part secondary, even though I do like the possibility to invert the case and the ability to expand storage (that goes well with motherboard and PSU). I am aware that airflow is an issue on BeQuiets cases. I just don't know if the airflow issue is big enough to impair the CPU's and GPU's that I'm picking. PSU Dark Power Pro 11 650 W: Here I avoided cheaping out. 650W seems to be way more than enough to power everything, also when overclocking. Maybe even 500W should be enough. Better power conversion and longevity of components are the biggest reasons why I'm ready to pay a premium here. The PSU, together with the case, might become two things I won't need to upgrade ever again, even in over a decade, even more so if I do not cheap out here. It helps too that it powers up to 8 sata storage drives, the exact same number of ports that the motherboard has. As for RGB, that will be the main focus of the Phanteks halo rings. I do like the crazy look of the bequiet fans when they are lighted by the aRGB halo rings. I might buy some aRGB strips down the line, and I'll be getting aura compatible aRGB peripherals. Pure RGB puke^^' As for the extra fans, I'm planing to replace the two at the front with the high rpm variants, and put 2 at the top and one on the bottom of the case. Anyway, thank you very much for reading this far! I'm open for any input, remarks and criticism^^ I actually need them badly to avoid making decisions that I would regret the moment I would get my system^^' Servus, Estti379

Hey guys, So I just built my new rig and I'm pretty happy with it, I'm just trying to learn about overclocking my GPU for the first time. These are my current settings and my Time Spy score with the OC, everything is stable but I wanted to get your advice on if I'm doing anything unnecessary or missing out on some performance with these settings. I'm running the MSI GTX 1600Ti Armor https://gyazo.com/2e830fc68c3303437fa0a90342bda65d https://gyazo.com/f939a0556064434bb516931e9e4d9be2 https://gyazo.com/3eb1d3d62b012f7fb7ed6e6e9dae86fd Cheers.

Alright so I've been doing a lot of research and I heard someone list specs two weeks ago and it was the first time I understood what he was saying! But one thing I don't understand is motherboard connectors. I want a connector for wifi, but I just don't get it. I saw the Techquickie about it and I still don't get it. Can someone explain as simple as possible? Or link a video that goes through it well? Also, are sound cards connectors? I don't get that either. Help me lol

Hi, My name is Manu, I'm 16 from India... First of all let me tell you since I was 10 I have always been a console gamer...(i'm sorry... ), But after playing witcher 3 on my friends PC and experiencing the difference I came to realise why everybody says that pc is better than console for gaming. But then again I live in India where prices of pc components are way higher compared to US ( I have to almost pay $1100 in India to make this pc but it would cost only $700 in the US). I will mostly be doing 1080p gaming and some school work. Please have look at my list and give your opinion. Also I am looking a case, if you could recommend one. http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/list/PfsFsJ Thanks, Manu

I am looking to build a small gaming desktop for use in univesity, supplemented by a chromebook for classes. I'm looking at a price range of up to 1.3k CAD (~1k USD). So first off, here is my parts list right now: http://ca.pcpartpicker.com/list/KxcZcc So I want a micro atx or mini itx case to be portable as I will be alternating between work terms and study terms in my program. Is a mini ITX rig viable in the price range I'm looking at? Also I have no idea whether these parts will actually fit in the case I have selected. In addition to my questions about the case, if you have any suggestions about parts then I'm all ears (one thing is that I have opted to go with just a 500gb SSD as I can use a spare HDD I have lying around from my old rig). Thanks you so much!

So I'm getting ready for my first PC build! Yay very exciting and whatever. Here's the build: http://pcpartpicker.com/list/PhWDjc Is anything bottlenecking (is that how you use the term lol)? I'll be doing some gaming on sort of demanding titles like Far Cry and Fallout. I'll also be doing some light video editing for YouTube commentaries. And just normal browsing on YouTube, chacking emails, and whatever. I'm getting Windows 10 from Kinguin so it's not on there. But how is it? Is everything okay? It pretty much fits my budget perfectly but I can go just a LITTLE BIT over. Will it be ok? Also, I know there's no HDD, but my case doesn't have a place for optical drives and I'm pretty set on having that case soooo.....

I'm 13 and making my first PC build and I understand most things now, after a lot of research. I'm still a bit in the dark about GPUs, but my main problem is MOBOs and PSUs. How do I pick a good one? Please explain what to look for. My budget WAS $500 until I found a GPU :(. So now I have no choice but to make it $700. The build is for light editing videos for YouTube and gaming things like Overwatch, Minecraft, the Far Cry Series, The Witcher, and Dark Souls. So how do I find and pick a MOBO and PSU? How do I make sure I don't bottleneck? What do I check for m8s? Keep in mind, a lot of people forget, I'm a complete NOOB and I don't know what you mean when you start throwing brands and numbers at me.

Hey, So as you can see in the title, I'm planning to buy my first real gaming rig, for the most part I've been using laptops, but I say no more to the cuts in performance that comes with such machines. The biggest problem I see in upgrading to full-fledged pc master race member is my lack of experience when it come to the hardware as I've only recently begone to seriously get into tech stuff. The main aim of my pc is good quality gaming and I mean, GOOD quality gaming. I'm also into streaming so it can be kept in mind when discussing this build. Now that we have that finished, let's get into the build: CPU: Intel Core I5-6600k GPU: Gigabyte GeForce GTX 1070 G1 Gaming RAM: Corsair Vengeance LPX DDR4 2x8GB 3000MHz Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-Z170-D3H CPU Cooling: SilentiumPC Fortis 3 HE1425 Power supply: SilentiumPC Vero M1 600W HD: Western Digital Caviar Blue 1TB Case: SilentiumPC Aquaris X70W Pure Black Drive: Asus 24F1MT Additionaly it comes with Gdata Internet Security for 1 year There's no OS included As you can probably guess it pre-built, the price for a kit like that is 5100 PLN, which is roughly 1325 USD (shipping included), so, there's a few things on which I'd like your opinion and advice: -The most important thing of all of them, do you think it's worth it, is a pre-built pc like that decent and how much better could I get if I build it myself -How can I improve it in case I decide to build it myself -Is GTX 1070 G1 Gaming good? I know that's a pretty stupid question, but what I mean is, how does it compare to some other GPUs like MSI GeForce GTX 970 Gaming or MSI GeForce GTX 1070 Gaming X and what's the main difference between them I'm probably gonna start off with using 1 1920x1080 monitor but I'm looking forward to using 2 in the future, apart from the pc itself I need to buy better keyboard and such but it's gonna be done over some time so my budget (which is about 5100 PLN, it may very a little in case there's something that can really up the performance) isn't including any of them, only the pc itself. Here's the link to the build (it's in polish but I believe you guys can manage) : https://www.morele.net/morele-sky-g5200-774305/ And here's a link to the site itself if you'd like to see other builds they have in case you could recommend some alternative: https://www.morele.net/komputery/komputery-pc/komputery-dla-graczy-672/,,,,,,,p,1,,/1/ I really apreaciate any help you guys can provide, because as you can see, I'm quite a noob lord. Please no haterino my asserino

This will hopefully be the LAST time I have to post about this, because I've been messing with this list a lot and I'm finally okay with the price. Here is my build: http://pcpartpicker.com/user/TyFilms/saved/dQpgsY I have finally let go of the $75 case and I would be fine with this case. I have also decided to not get the rx 480 because I'm 13 and I make money by selling a certain thing on Etsy for $20 each and I would have to sell one more. So yeah, I'm using this build for LIGHT video editing. By light I don't mean editing a freaking movie, I mean making YouTube commentaries, so I don't need a beast. And also, this build is for LOTS and LOTS of gaming. I know the rx 470 can handle it, but will anything bottleneck? And don't say anything about the hyper 212 evo, I hate when computers make sound so that's why it's there.

Can someone configure a couple cables for me? I am not exactly sure which ones will be correct and the right length. I want to pick the colors myself and I see the package deals are a few too many cables. My build is in my signature for specifics. I desire a new 24 pin motherboard cable and power cables for my gpu. They are in a Phanteks p400 case. My motherboard is pretty standard, I think, my gpu has two 8 pin power connectors and they are all connected to a 650 GS PSU. The two, well three, cables are all that stick out to me. For my GPU, should I buy two 8 pin pci express cables or two 8 pin EPS cables? What are the differences? Is there a solid standard length for mid towers that I should abide by? Should I actually measure the distance or just stick to CobleMod 'default' lengths for my 24pin connector?
