This is on MINT (20.3???)... I get this distortion, and you can hear it in the video below if you want.... but I get this distortion every time I visit certain sites. Fedex and Yandex Translate seem to be some of the worst about it. Why does this happen? Can I stop it? Here is a video of this matter https://odysee.com/@ARTOFTHEREÆL:4/Why-this-distortion:3

I recently got a cheap PC which I'm using as a budget gaming PC, everything is going great so far, except for the fan that is located in the power supply, the one it has is making a loud bearing noise and I disassembled it to add some lubricant to it but it is still making noise. I ordered a new fan from Noctua which has the same specs as the one on the power supply but the only problem is the connector, both fans have a 4 pin connector but the one on the PSU is like a CRJ Micro 4 pin connector, totally smaller than the one on the new fan and the new one doesn't fit... I was wondering if it'd be ok to just cut the old fan connector and solder it to the new fan? have you guys done this before? will it be ok? Thank you

Recording of the noise, edited to be as noticeable as possible. Notice the kind of rhythmic noises behind the ambient fan noise. Could this be coil whine, maybe a faulty fan? I am not sure. None of the fans seem to be hitting anything. I suspect from listening that the noise might be coming from the graphics card. This is also suggested by the fact that the noise is more noticeable the more load is on the GPU. The noise is pretty loud and noticeable IRL but it was difficult to record. This has been going on for some weeks(?) and I don't remember hearing this noise before that. What could be causing this? Should I be worried? Thank you in advance!!

Hi, I'm using this usb microphone since propably around 2 years ago: https://www.thomann.de/de/the_tbone_sc450_usb.htm Last weekend my friends told me that they started to hear a unusual static microphone noise. I investigated the issue and found out that the noise persisted indepently of the microphone input volume setting in windows. The "real" microphone noise only gets distinguishable to the "new" noise (at least to me) at around 80% volume. Below this threshold there is no difference: The noise is the same at 20% as it is at 60%. Even if I mute the mic completely inside of windows with the icon next to the slider the noise persists. The noise only goes away if I entirely deactivate or uninstall the device in windows or unplug the USB-cable. Has anybody ever encountered a similar problem and/ or knows some "advanced" troubleshooting techniques or possibly even a solution? I obviously already tried the usual stuff: Unplugged and replugged Mic, searched for driver updates, restarted PC etc. To me this seems like a software problem since its independent of the windows mute switch (which leads me to the opinion that buying a new mic might not resolve the issue), but I'm not sure. Feel free to prove me wrong Thank you in advance. Jojomatik

Hello, so yesterday I have changed my GPU and I don't know if this actually matters but afterwards my headphones or speakers make constant noise and when I play some audio from pc that noise ramps up that it's actually louder than the playback audio. I've tried couple of things. Clean install of drivers - sound & graphic I've tried to plug in old graphics card Clean install of windows. I've tried to plug the pc directly to the wall (I have another pc but connected to different wall plug) So far the noise is still there. So if anyone have some idea what could be causing it and how can I fix it I would be really thankful. Recently I was wondering about buying some decent DAC so if that's the solution, that wouldn't be the end of the world. So I could finally justify it to myself Thanks again to anyone

I bought the EVGA Super nova 850 GS (silent series) on may, 2017. This power supply originally don't make any kind of noise's and it goes unnoticed so I never had a problem with it. But the last 3 months they started making squeals that gradually get worse making it very annoying and sometimes the noise stops. What can I do to make the power supply fan work silently again as before? I know that i still have warranty time but I do not have any proof of purchase since I bought it from a business dedicated to bringing things from Amazon for me and it has been more than a year since that business closed so I lost contact with them. PD. If i can do something to fix it. Please tell me how i will do it for my self.

Hi Like many people during this unusual time I've recently bought a webcam to keep in touch with people, both for work and maybe a virtual pint. I opted for a logitech brio stream 4k. This is something i would have never have bought in normal times, but fancied buying a needless gadget in uncertain times. I've installed logitech capture and have used skype and zoom (not sure about long term security of latter) and every source seems noisy and often soft. I've turned on every light in the house or made sure that i have as much natural light as possible but every image looks like a low grade phone. I've fiddled with every setting in capture and nothing seems to make that much of a difference. Now, I'm a hifi guy, spent way too much over the years on speakers, amps, fancy dancey cables etc, I know in the grand scheme of things £200 is nothing in the world of cameras: you'd probably pay that for a screw in some fancy gimble, but i'd expect as least as good an image as that from my iphone. Please will some of you lovely people give me some advice to get the best out of this piece of...?

Hello, I have an audio setup consisting of Audient iD4 (it's an external usb audio interface) and a pair of jbl lsr305 connected to the interface with 2 xlr to 6.3mm jack balanced cables. When I open up most of the games (especially with uncapped framerate and higher settings) I hear a humming, buzzing noise (sometimes it's really loud in menus), probably because of gpu load (my gpu doesn't have a backplate, it's an RX 580 msi armor). The speaker and the pc are both powered in the same power strip, and I only have 1 wall socket available (I'm in Italy so it's an EU socket). The weird part is that I don't hear any noise with headphones connected to my audio interface. Asking for a solution. Thanks in advance!

Hello everyone! I'm writing here looking for some advices and wisdom! Recently I was gifted this case, the Thermaltake View 71 TG, a majestic and way-out-of-my-league case. Before this gift I never asked myself what I wanted the interior of my case look like or "is my PC silent enough?". These two questions came from one obvious reason (see-through TG glass everywhere) and one not so obvious one: the included Riing 14 non-PWM fans are pretty loud to my taste (according to the internet, not only mine)! So, I would like to ask you a few questions: which fans should I stick into it and where? since I'm not necesserely into RGB, should I and would it be a "lost opportunity" if I didn't? asdIn order to reduce the noise produced by the case I tried buying and installing a Noctua NF-P14s redux fan (900 fixed RPM rated for 13.2 dB(A)) replacing the rear exhaust fan, but I am not satisfied at all since I didn't notice the expected drop in noise production. So, I started thinking what to do and here comes the real questions: should I install more PWM fans and set them a lowest speed? Airflow should be kind of good and maybe this way I might achieve almost true silence? am I being too picky with the noise produced by the Noctua fan? So, am I missing something? I don't know if I sent the message of what dilemma is "excruciating" me, feel free to ask me anything else. In advance, thank you for your help!

So as the title says I have some noise coming from my AIO and im pretty sure its air bubbles cause the sound completely disappears when I lay the case down on it's side. I've mounted the radiator in the front with the tubes at the bottom. Whats the best way to remove the air bubbles? I've tried placing a book under the case so it kinda tilted, but after 4 hours the noise from the air bubbles is still there.

Hello, I recently had some EM interference problem with my audio interface so I decided to plug it in a usb 3.0 hub and plug the audio interface into it, that resolved like 70% of the audio crackling and noise that I was hearing (not 100% cause the hub is usb powered). The problem I have now is that the audio cuts off after about 1 min or so, I though it may be the usb hub getting shut off from windows for power management but seems to not be the case after disabling auto shut off from device manager. Thanks in advance for any advice.

Hi, everyone, I'm new here and I'm looking for some help for this problem with my graphic card. I purchased it one year ago (in march), and everything was fine till a couple of months ago (december probably), I started to hear a weird noise (like a vacuum) it started when I was watching a movie, I wasn't even playing at that moment, and after a few minutes it stopped; the thing is I don't know what I'm doing to cause the noise; so, after that, the noise started to sound from time to time, when I was playing, when I was watching a movie, when I was using Word, when I was doing anything... it doesn't have a patron, and the worst thing is I don't know what I have to do to stop it. Till a couple of weeks ago, it used to start and then ended after a few minutes, but now it just starts and never ends to sound, it's really unbearable. I know that it's the graphic card because I disconnected it from the motherboard and the noise stopped. Just in case I tried to disconnect the other part of hardware, I checked that the fans were not loose and that there were no cables out there making contact, and, in conclusion, it's, without a doubt, the graphic card. I tried to clean it and change it the thermal grease and it works... for a couple of days, after that, the noise started again, my second try was to change it from PCIe port, but again it just works for a few weeks. I tried to contact with gigabyte's support, but they never answered me and I'm tired of this noise; I can't even watch a movie without using the headset. BTW, my graphic hasn't been overclocked, and here is a video with the noise. graphich_card_noise.mp4

Hi all, I purchased some Noctua AF-F12 120mm Chromax black fans for case cooling, and am on the whole very pleased with them, however I am having a noise problem with one of them. I use 3 for a 360mm rad and 2 for a 240mm rad, and those are all quiet enough under load. The fans on the 360mm rad are mounted sideways (Lian Li O11D) as exhaust, with the hubs pointed "inside" the case, sideways. The top two are mounted as intakes on the 240mm rad pulling air down into the case with the hubs pointing "outside" the case, "right side up." Those are all fine and quiet under load as I would expect. However, on the bottom of the case, I have one more mounted as an intake, with the hub pointing "outside," "upside down" pulling air into the case. This fan is much, much louder under load than the other five and it really sounds like motor noise. Is this common? Is there something about inverting the Noctua fans that has an effect on their bearings and their performance? Will this harm the fan bearing long-term? I have attached a photo of my build for reference. The fan in question is the one on the bottom of the case. Thank you for all your help!

I purchased a RTX 2080S Hybrid and often I can hear the noise of water trickling. It is very audible, last for a few seconds, but comes and goes. It doesn't matter if I am gaming or my PC is Idling it will make that noise every.. about 10min or so. I have the rad positioned at the back of the case as exhaust. Does orientation of the tubes coming out the top or bottom matter? To clarify if you looked at my setup the radiator is vertical with the tubes coming out the top. Should I rotate it so that the tubes are at the bottom? Does the orientation matter? And does the water trickling noise even matter?

Recently I bought a coolermaster ML360 AIO and 3 MF120R Fans to act as additional chassis fans. When the ML360 fans are spinning at above 50% speed it generates a lot of noise it almost sounds like a shaver. I have tried to reseat both the radiator and the fans but they still make that noise. I have tried attaching different numbers of fans and it still makes that noise regardless of position. This video demonstrates the noise the ML360 AIO creates https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ED4xVWvUbu8 Afterwards I tried replacing the fans that came with the AIO with the MF120R fans. These performed slightly better but are still quite noisy. They produce a low humming noise that can be heard from across the room and comes and goes whenever they are working above 50% speed. I am not sure if this is normal or not but the humming is very jarring when my fans fluctuate from 50%-70% workload and the noise keeps changing. Below 50% workload the fans begin to create a rattling sound. My old Cooler Master Nepton 240M was never this noisy no matter what speed the fans were on. This video demonstrates the noise the MF120R fans create , you may have to turn up the volume for this one as it is a low humming noise that comes and goes https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nNDh8rqswbs and https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TcQW79d4-Kw Are these normal for the fans and the radiator or did I get a bad AIO? Should I look to RMA the AIO as well as the chassis fan?

Hi I just bought a Seagate Skyhawk 4tb (ST4000VX007) second hand. It is working great and passing every test perfectly (i've used hard disk sentinel, seatools, userbenchmark). But whenever it copies or writes it makes noises that i can hear from 15 feet away. I think i'm hearing every head movement. I also have a seagate barracuda 2tb but it doesn't make any kind of audible noise like ever. The seller claims that he didn't pay attention to the hard noise and doesn't know if it was like this from start or not. HDSentinel: this is how it sounds: MOV_0075-cut.mp3 Do you think i should be worried? Is it going to fail? Or these kinds of noises are normal for skyhawks?

I upgraded from an Enthoo EVOLV ITX to a meshify C and replaced my fans. New build is with a Meshify C, ML140 RGB on radiator intake, ML120 RGB rear exhaust and Phanteks Ph-f140mp top exhaust. When I'm web browsing or watching a show the fans can cycle repeatedly between two speeds. Either speed is fine but the ramping is annoying. Can I use some software to monitor and control fan speed? Currently I used the Asus fan tune in the BIOS settings.

Hi everyone! I have a small but very annoying problem. It's about my new graphics card. (RTX 2060 8GB GigaByte) The problem show up when playing. I also noticed that the sound appears at the rotation of fans between 1500-1900rpm. For example, when I play Warzone I have 1800rpm + so at the beginning there is an annoying sound, then it disappears. At The Division 2, the turns are exactly 1500-1800rpm. Then the card makes the most sounds. One more fact. If I put the computer flat, the sounds stop completely. Below i attached picture of my PC build, and video. (wooden stick make sound quieter, looks weird and stupid but its works). Any advice? Solutions? Fans GPU.mov

Hi all, Long time LTT viewer/forum reader, first time posting - apologies if i'm posting where i shouldn't be. Okay, so i recently bought a second hand, but 1.5year old 1080Ti. Its not a super-dooper one, its the Gigabyte Gaming OC 11G. It seems to work really well, the visuals and FPS are just unbelievable compared to my old 660Ti. Its's still in an older system (i7 - 3770k) until the rest of the parts arrive. Of course i wanted to test it out right away, i couldn't help myself. I loaded up TimeSpy etc and the scores are fine. But when i head into something like Borderlands 3 or The Witcher, the GPU heads directly to 80+ degrees C, sits there and the fans go wild. Are these games particularly demanding on GPUs and therefore the workload for the GPU is expected or are there problems here? Airflow in the case is pretty poor currently, that's why my new rig should suit it way better - better air, more space etc. I'm just trying to work out my expectations i guess, as reviews never ever mention that on mid-higher end cards that they basically take off under any kind of load. I feel like its pretty noisy, or at least a lot noisier than i'd expected. I know my 1080Ti isn't top spec at all - but jsut wondering about other peoples experiences with these issues. Is this why people with higher end cards end up custom water cooling? Is that a quieter/better solution?

Hello! So I bought a new gpu a few weeks back. EVGA 2060 KO ultra and the fans making a random noise every now and again. Video attached so people can hear it. I contacted them and they said... the noise is due to hybrid dynamic fan bearing and this is normal for fans running at low RPM. They said this isn’t a defect and is how the fans are designed. I feel like that’s a lot of garbage. They said I should do a custom fan curse etc to stop the issue. What’s everyone’s thoughts? Kinda sounds like someone is snoring hahahaha Posting this on a couple of pages to get everyone’s opinion Thanks and take care https://www.dropbox.com/s/53fweaqv40tiplo/Video 14-05-2020%2C 23 16 17.mov?dl=0

So I recently built my first computer and noticed a weird clicking every so often. It kinda sounds like a faulty hhd, but there isn't any in the system. Hi, everyone! Thanks in advance for your attention on my first ever post on the text version of the computer underwear YouTube channel. After installing a new graphics card (from an RX580 4GB to a RTX2070 Super, feels good!), I noticed an occasional ticking sound from (I'm pretty certain) my power supply, an EVGA G2 750W. I've attached a recording I took on my phone that captures the sound, the quality isn't great and since I held my phone right up to the back of the power supply you're also hearing a lot of air being moved, but I think the ticking sound comes through pretty clearly. I haven't noticed anything performance-wise that would lead me to be concerned, the new graphics card is great! However, since I also do a lot of work on my computer, and because I'm obviously anal retentive enough to make this post about it, the sound can be a little distracting when I'm really focusing and there's no other sound happening. It also goes in and out, and doesn't seem to be related to how hard the machine is working (I didn't notice it anymore playing Metro Exodus than I did just working on the desktop). I'm just always afraid of something being a sign of a greater problem, is it worth any further investigation? Thanks again for your time! PSU ticking sound.m4a

Around 5ish minutes after I shut down my desktop, there is a weird "click" noise, I think it's from the PSU but not 100% sure. When I turned off my pc tonight, it made what best could be described as a "clunk" noise, being louder and deeper than other ones I've noticed. Is this something I should be worried about? I will say that I had to wiggle in the plug a bit, can this damage the rest of it maybe) Case: cheap £25 Matx case, xigmatek Scorpio, do not recommend lol, crap airflow. OS: can this be a problem? Hi Everyone, First time posting here, unfortunately it’s for some bad news... I recently purchased and installed the Noctua DH-U12S Chromax Black on my new Build/PC. I was hoping that this would seriously reduce noise from my original cooler, the AMD wraith. Anyways I’m getting these really annoying high pitched sounds coming from my new cooler, I believe it’s the fan. Before anyone jumps to conclusions, I installed the whole thing according to Noctuas instructions (I.e. in push configuration). There’s no cables touching the fan blades and nothing obstructing the fan or cooling fins. I have even tried moving the fan a few mm away from the cooling fins as it could’ve potentially been causing harmonic vibrations or turbulence, but no success. Lastly, I already contacted Noctua support with the attached audio files. I will be sure to update this thread with their response. Anyways, in the meanwhile, I was just wondering if anyone had experienced similar issues? I’ve attached copies of my audio files, please let me know if you have any suggestions towards troubleshooting this. Note: All my case fans were turned off during these noise tests. Thanks!! ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- As promised, here's an update (2020-05-07): Took Noctua a while to get back to me, but they're sending me a replacement fan. Hi everyone! I just put together a new build (specs below) and I'm having some growing pains. When I'm using my headset (Razer Kraken), everything will work fine until I open up a game (lets say Destiny 2) and then I'll get this weird feedback/static noise in my headset. The noise can be heard over discord as well with people I'm in a call with. The headset has a single 3.5mm cable that I attach to splitter and put into my MB jacks on the back. It recognizes each end of my splitter as microphone and an audio out respectively and works over discord (though it is a bit quiet). So far I've tried using the front audio port, not using the splitter, restarting the computer, checked for updates to discord, the game in question at the time and my drivers, running game audio out of my speakers while still using the headset for discord (game sound went to speaker but the sound still appeared in the headset) and restarting to no avail. One thing of note is that when the game is minimized or behind say, a full screen google chrome window, the sound is diminished. It's definitely still present but not near as strong. When all sound is running through the speakers, there is no problem whatsoever. I'm really not sure what's going on here, any help would be appreciated.
