Hey guys, I'm a little confused with the level of noise of my system ... it sounds like a small vacuum cleaner and I just can't identify the source of that noise <_< . This is what I've tested: - I unplugged the CPU fan (Scythe Katana) ... noise still there - I unplugged all the other fans ... noise still there - I replaced my 400 W power supply with a BE QUIET power supply (BQ L8-400W) ... noise still there - I moved the whole system over to a new case (be quiet silent base 800) with 3 really quiet fans, optimized airflow and sound-damping ... noise still there - I removed the GPU fan ... noise still there - I unplugged the DVD-R Drive ... noise still there - I replaced the HDD (WD - 1TB) with an SSHD (Seagate - 1TB) ... noise still there I just don't get what causes this noise?! Like I said, it sound like some kind of vacuum cleaner or like a really annoying fan. Do you have any ideas? I guess it's something pretty obvious but I'm just to stupid to see/hear it . P.S.: I attached a screenshot of the basic information on my hardware to this post.

I recently bought a 2TB WD Black HDD and I'm finding it frustratingly loud: the ticking and/or grinding which occurs while writing and sometimes while reading. Does anyone have this drive in a case that makes it quiet? The problem isn't case vibration, though that does occur when doing a drive test. The other option I've found is a product like this. Anyone have any experience with them? I might need a new case anyway, as my (old, old) current case doesn't have any fans blowing directly on the 5.25" bays which this drive silencer might require to keep the drive inside cool. I'm in Australia which might affect what's available. Thanks in advance for any advice!

I'm going stay in a hotel for a few weeks and will be in the same room as my parents so my mechanical keyboard noises will be there. My mom says she'll break the keyboard if it annoys her, I love Blue switches but they're far to loud. I need something quieter than Brown switches. What do you guys recommend?

Hi! I'm looking for a decent power supply with low noise and 750 wattage which would be enough for my new GPU. I'm currently looking at Corsair's cs750m, but i heard that it tends to start making a humming noise after usage. Should i buy this or look for another one?

Hi all I have Seasonic M12II-620 620W and I just got my 8320 and Gigabyte R9 290 Windforce. And under load the PSU gets really really loud. I don't know, because even 600W is recommended for 290 and we know how it is with "recommended". So did anyone have this issue or it is just because it's too much for that PSU and I have to deal with it. And I also tried to put my hand behind the PSU where the air blows out and the air was relatively cool. And it gets really loud even on Civ Beyond Earth. And if there is nothing to do about it, is there any way to reduce the noise? Thanks

I bought a new pc a few month ago. Last day, it started to produce noise, i believe the noise is coming from the CPU cooling fan(Antec 1250). As its a new pc, there are now much dust in it. Plz give me so suggestion for solving the problem, the pc is killing my ear.

So just now my graphics card (At least I think its my graphics card) started making a squealing noise. The noise sounds like an electrical-ish squeal.... or something like that? It's definitely not the fan, just checked that (first time i've ever stopped any fan with my finger and i feel terrible about it!) When I load a game or a video up, the squeal changes pitch very uniformly... like ____----""""---""____ (higher is higher note haha) I'm not too worried because my GTX 970 is on delivery so that should be here in the next few days What the hell could it be?

I usually sit quite close to my computer and I currently have headset microphone (Plantronics 780 gamescom) ATM but I have been having complaints about my background fan noise. I have a water cooler H100i Corsair and 3 regular thermal take fans, any suggestions for a microphone that is good for this environment. I have tried to turn down the audio in the control panel and it has to be low enough where you cannot hear me for it not to pick up the fan noise really loud. I have also tried to reduce the fan speeds but it doesnt make too much of a difference. I also cannot just sit further away from my computer since its set up in a way where there inst enough space for it anywhere else and I dont have any wall ports anywhere. I have been searching and I want a microphone which inst any higher than 150$. The blue yeti looks really appealing but any suggestions would be appreciated.

Hello guys! I've been hearing click noises coming from my PC for some time now, and I wonder, what could be causing them. It seems to be related with idle/load modes. What happens is that, mostly under load, from time to time, I hear a noticeable CLICK. It doesn't persist, its just a single click/tick noise, like if some case-gnome just flipped some switch or something. I wouldn't lie if I told You that good 8 out of ten of those clicks happen under load. Is it some rpm controller in a gpu that is responsible for that or what are Your ideas? The sound overall aint that big of a deal, as its not creepingly loud. I'm just curious. So, what do You guys think?

I built this rig 2 weeks ago and it worked like a charm, but since yesterday the PSU has been making this high pitched noise when playing games. I initially thought it was my GPU that was making noise, but found out it was my power supply. Not only is it making noise, but I noticed that my frame rate on games dropped, textures don't load as quick, and everything takes longer to render. I have a Gigabyte 970, which should max out every game I throw at it, but right now I get 30 FPS on Battlefield 4 on Ultra, when I usually get 100+. On Far Cry I usually have 80-90+ FPS, but now it occasionally drops to 30FPS. Is it a problem with my Power Supply, or is it a problem with my GPU?

so, i recently got a new graphics card for my computer. i decided to give my old one to my friend. i went to his house today to install it for him, installed it, for some reason it wouldn't display anything. i tried changing the bios to detect from pci/e and it still didnt work. but this isn't the issue. we ditched trying to put the card in, so i just took it out, plugged everything back in how it was, and now he's not getting sound. its just a bunch of static. we made sure everything was plugged in correctly, i plugged my phone into his speakers and played music, so it was not the speakers. i tried the headphone jack in the front of his computer and in the back, both didn't work. i did install a few graphics drivers previous to this issue to try to fix the gfx card issue, so i decided maybe those drivers had something to do with it, so i uninstalled them all, with no avail. i found that VGA plugs sometimes cause static/feedback to speakers? which we tried to fool around with but it didnt do anything. this never happened to him before so i don't know why it would now. He runs a basic Asus desktop that has no graphics card just the on-board one, same with his sound. I have tried going into control panel>sound to set the audio to its default and that didn't work either. could i have messed something up with the mobo somehow??

I'm planning on buying a Corsair 750D but I am still not sure about whether getting the Define R4 would be better. Is it possible to soundproof the 750D and is it worth it? By soundproofing I mean putting some soundproofing foam on the right side panel as it is completely blank and by worth it I mean will it make any difference to noise and cooling.

I had a XFX PSU that burnt a chip on my graphics card. Whenever I had focus on a game (game window), there would be a buzz noise coming from the speakers. I had to replace the PSU, motherboard and graphics card. It had been around 7 months with no issues (no buzzing noise) until last night. I discovered a buzz noise that is coming from the speakers and the PSU itself. Is this normal? If not, am I fucked? What should I do? Sell them? It is really hard to say when it started to happen but I think it was because I ran a somewhat beefy game (it was World of Warcraft Molten Core instance, with high/good settings [not ultra]). The game was lagging (graphically wise) a bit. On a side note: I can't believe a PSU from fucking China has better product quality than from Corsair. I had a Dell, almost everything was from China, and I never had any problems like these before. Unbelievable.

I just built my own pc and noticed that theres a buzzing sound comming from somwhere, so i looked around and googled a bit and foud its from my psu, some people told me to turn off the power saving mode, in my uifi bios there was no feature to turn it off and when i tried to do it on win directly it was like this - high preformace-blasting the buzzing sound, balanced- a bit of buzzing, and power saving- nothing. I dont want to run my pc on power saving, is there any way to fix this?

I wanted to know if the AX860i is a loud PSU, I am a quiet freak and wanted to know how the AX860i fairs Some people report weird fan problems, so can you please explain what those are too. Thanks!

Hello LTT I have got a problem. Whenever I play Dayz or another game which I maxed out graphics wise, something in my PC starts making a loud, annoying ratteling noise. I have stopped the fans of my CPU cooler, fans of the GPU and the case fans with my hand and the noise continued. The only option left is what I think is the PSU. I just can't understand why it only makes that noise when I set my setting on max or play certain games. Is it because the fan in the PSU ramps up to a certain speed? Anyhow, I have the Corsair CX750M PSU. Have any of you experienced the same problem? Thank you

I recently bought a new 750D since my old Antek 902 got beaten up really bad during a moving, and now I'm confronted with a mix of a constant low humming sound combined with a pulsating higher pitched humming sound resulting from my WD Caviar black and Samsung Spinpoint F3 apparently resonating in this case. When only plugging in one drive, the Samsung creates a low pulsating hum where the WD gives a constant low buzz ( both things which didn't happen in the 902 ). I've tried replacing either the WD black or the Samsung with a spare WD RED I had but in both cases the extreme resonance returns. I've tried repositioning them, putting the side panels looser or tighter ( the latter one making the noise worse ), but I can't seem to get rid of this resonance between the two drives. Are there any options which work with isolating the HDD's from the cages or even the cages from the case which don't involve putting them in special brackets in the 5.25" bay? Usually some small rubber washers between the bracket and the HDD are supposed to help but in my case the vibrations still reach the cages en resonance is present. Or is it possible that I happen to have two really bad vibrating drives ( the Samsung is about 4 years old, the WD black about 3 ) and only replacing both of them will stop the resonating, since I seem to be one of the only people having these kind of problems with the 750D. Hello all you great people, As of circa six months ago, I purchased a new computer, and as much as I was excited about the new specs, in terms of gaming improvement, I was even more so excited about the reduction of noise, since my PC at the time was very, very, loud. However my excitement was for naught, as it turns out this PC, albeit not as noisy as the old one, is still too loud, and often after having run for 8-10 hours, starts making "surging" noises, and vibrates my desk. This can sometimes be fixed by reaffirming the side panel of my case, or simply moving the case an inch, but it occurs quite often, at least once a day. Specs: Case: Corsair Graphite Series 600T Motherboard: ASUS Z87-A GPU: GeForce GTX 770, factory OC'd CPU: Intel i5 4670K, running at stock speed RAM: 8GB comprised of two sticks, running at 1600MHz Cooling: Corsair H80i, with stock fans HDD: 1x Kingston 120GB SSD for OS and 1x game, 2xSATA HDD 450GB/320GB, old, as in really old, 7200RPM The case also contains 2x140mm fans PSU: Corsair TX650W Preface: My PSU is about 4-6 years old, so it could be the culprit all along, but I have no way of making sure, and my SATA HDDs are even older. I have CorsairLINK, a software program, which lets you control your component/fan speeds, and the fans on my H80i are on "quiet mode", same with my GTX 770. The dial on top of the case, that controls the 140mm fans, is turned all the way down, so they too are running at lowest speeds. Speculations and eliminations: I've tried blocking the blades simultaneously on both the 140mm fans, and there is no change in sound. My brother has the same GPU as me, and you need a stethoscope to know his PC is running at all, so that can't be it. I (suspect), that there must be two culprits. Either it is my PSU, or it is my stock fans on the H80i. I don't know how much noise HDDs can make, but I suppose it could be them, they are after all, very old. I would appreciate if people who's systems also include an H80i could comment, pertaining to the noise of the stock fans. To mention my brother again, he has in his system, the H100i, but he uses Corsair AF120mm Quiet Edition High Airflow fans on his, and not the stock ones, so perhaps exchanging my stock fans will do the trick. Thank you for your time.

Hey, I want a microphone for skype, teamspeak, and recording youtube videos. I have around 100 dollars to spend, but there is one thing that is holding me back; my keyboard. I have a really loud keyboard (mechanical) and a somewhat loud pc, so I need a mic that is good at noise cancelling so people in skype etc. don't complain. I am also getting the Rode PSA1, so the mic is a bit above my keyboard. I was thinking of getting the Samson C03U with the SP01 shock mount, thoughts?
