Hello, I built a system 4 days ago and it ran fine until I put my new thermal paste on it. Everything in the system powers on but it doesn't post, there's no paste on the board and everything is plugged in correctly and the system is exactly the same as it was when it worked but now it doesn't. Please help!

I've just built a ryzen system with 1600 , Asus prime x370 pro and gtx 1080. Everything lights up but it send no signal to the monitor. What should I do guys ?

I was shrinking my drive because I generously gave 40GB to C drive >_>. wanted to expand and it and while it was shrinking I had an unfortunate power cut now the drive doesn't show up in the file explorer but can see that space on disk management. I tried recovery tools and they seem to find my files but when I hit recover they ask me to open a directory which can hold the data and I don't have any....... I just want my drive back.

I got a computer for free because it was running vista with a sata 3 HDD and the guy said it was running slow. So I decided I was going to make it a PC for my office room since all I do in there is type with word, some excel, and web browsing. The PC was fine before but it was slow, so I had a SSD laying around and I removed the HDD cage and DVD cage from the computer since I wanted the computer to be very light and mobile and I was just gonna use some double sided tape to stick the SSD in. Well I install the SSD and install windows 10 and everything is fine. I shut down the computer then opened the case and I sprayed it out with canned air and I removed the CPU heatsink and reapplied some thermal paste since that the thermal paste was dried out and old, I used 91% rubbing alcohol and applied some Arctic MX 4 thermal paste cause I have used it in many PC's I've built in the past. I screwed the heatsink back on and closed the case. When I plugged everything back in, the PC turns on but now the monitor shows no display. I tested my VGA cable and monitor on another PC and they work fine. I moved the ram to different spots and tried using only one stick of ram, I removed the cmos battery, unplugged everything from the mobo and replugged it, made sure everything was connected tightly. Everything. I removed the cpu to see if I might have bent some pins on it but everything seems fine. The PC only has one output port and it's VGA. Any help would be appreciated, thanks! For the past couple days i've had the problem of installing Win 10 on my pc and then updating from 'check for updates' and my pc wont be able to boot after i restart to install the updates. I'm not sure what specs to include for this issue so let me know what you need to know.

Hi everyone! I'm having a little problem in here and was hoping to get some help from you guys so here is the issue: I've just bought a new PC about two weeks ago, which specs are the following: - Ryzen 1600 w/stock cooler. - ASUS Prime B350 Plus. - 2 x 8GB Vengeance RGB DDR4 3000MHz Memory Kit (CMR16GX4M2C3000C15) - ASUS Strix GTX 1080 Oc 8Gb - Corsair CX850M 850W 80 Plus Bronce. - Corsair Crystal 460X RGB. - Windows 10 Pro 64-Bits. I installed everything, windows, drivers, steam and downloaded some games and the pc worked flawlessly but, when I tried to get the RAM to 2933 Mhz I couldn't as that specific MB didn't support my kit for those speeds. I contact the vendor, explain everything and manage to get the MB to be changed to the ASUS Prime X370 Pro which had my RAM kit in the QVL and effectively let me get the RAM to those speeds. Here is when the magic started to happen. All of the sudden and completely random (most of the times while gaming) the PC started to "reboot" and freeze, showing a black screen with "No signal" on it, the GPU RGB goes white and despite the whole system being on and running that sign won't go away and I have to do a hard reset to the system in order to use it again. I got the RAM to stock speeds @ 2133 Mhz and despite letting me play for longer this still happens from time to time. Updated BIOS to latest (V0805) and all other drivers are up to date also but this keeps happening. I've tried to replicate the problem by running aida64, Unigine Heaven and superposition and no luck at all. The CPU temps at idle stay at 32 C and when I stress it with aida64 they get to 66/67 C, GPU temps get to 70 C with fans running at 50/60% when on load (temps seems fine for me but better let you guys know them for sure). Yesterday I've read on a forum that installing MSI Afterburner and setting "keep current constant" might do the trick and so far so good but I only managed to test it for a couple of hours and I didn't try to get the RAMs back to 2933 again (I'm gonna be doing this when as soon as I get back home from work today). Anywho, I would love to get some help from you guys on what may be causing this issue as the system should be fine running at full load with RAM @2933Mhz.

What if I connected two of the SATA ports on my motherboard with a SATA cable? Would stuff break? Probably.

i thought i'd put it in the motherboard discussion because i think that might be the problem. The problem started when i used a program to uninstall my nvidia display drivers and i was in the process of installing a new card (MSI 970 gaming 4g) to replace my old card (gt 705) and when i put the graphics card in it would turn on, all fans would go full speed then turn off after 3-4 seconds so i was told to take the cmos battery out to reset the bios so i did that and put the card back in and when i turned it on and the fans would just go full speed again with no input signal at all. and for some reason whenever i clicked the power button the fans would go back to a normal speed but if i clicked it again they would go full speed. i've tried onboard graphics and there was no display at all either. Will provide more details if needed. Computer is an HP Pavillion 500-509c with an evga 500w, Thanks all

So after a while, when i leave my pc and come back, it only shows a black screen, and also i have it set up so that when its not in use, the fans are off. When this blackscreen encounter happpens, the fans are spinning. And i can do nothing but turn down the computer manually. Then it works fine, what is this random blackscreen freeze? Anyone know? I cant find anything in event viewer.

I've cleared the CMOS, swapped out memory, dropped down to one stick of mem, and vice versa. I've checked all my connection, checked my monitor, tried the on board hdmi, and removing the video card. I'm at a loss for getting this thing to post. Any ideas? Thanks. Edit: board is not installed in the case yet. Additionally, stock CPU fan and video card fan both spin, no beeps from mobo.

Hi all, My brother is looking for a new headset with a mic and without any noise cancelling or sound dampening. This is because he otherwise is going to scream to hard when playing games and stuff I've done some research but there aren't many headphones these days that don't have noise cancelling. So I thought maybe people on here have some ideas? Thanks in advance!

Hello, I have reseted my BIOS and my computer can't find any headphones plugged in. I've plugged in 3 different headphones and the results are the same. What I've done so far: - I've installed NVIDIA and Realtek drivers - I've checked if they are updated - I've run troubleshooting and it says that I didn't connect my headphones - I've checked and both front and rear audio panels don't work - I've updated my Windows I don't have a recovery/restore point I can use and I don't want to reinstall my Windows unless it's my last option. Hi I have no POST on my new pc I've tested the Graphics card and PSU. I've Reset my CMOS and remplaced my CMOS battery. I've tried differents cards none worked but worked on the others systems. Asus aura seems to work on the rgb strip (full loop of color) and the Motherboard. The fans of the gpu stop after a bit (it's a semi passive cooling). I've changed the RAMS places didn't work even without ram at all. The cpu fan spin and modulate his speed. I'm using the box as a test bench like with the others Motherboard that work. The problem is that my onboard networkcard is capping my internet speed in some applications. But it isn't capped at one speed. For example Firefox gets 130Mbit, Bethesda launcher 170Mbit and steam for some reason all 225Mbit download. My laptop is capable to get in every application full speed though. the networkspeed is 225Mbit down and 20Mbit up. However the cable does provide the full speed with no issues on my laptop. I'm using two cables with a coupler in between. The cable from the router to the coupler is a CAT5e and the second one is a CAT6. The coupler is capable of delivering the full speed. The cablelength is 35 meters. everything seems fine without the coupler. I tried diffrent ones but nothing solved the issue. trying to force the card accepting gigabit didn't work either. At this point i don't know what should i do next. Perhaps somebody can help me.

Hey Guyz.. Sorry for my bad english.. i have a r9 380 4gb saphire model.. which is running on every system except mine.. i have i5 4790 with 8 gb ram and a 500w psu.. i purchased it 3 days ago and when i bought it it was running fine whole night.. but after that night i tried everything but it is not giving me a display.. the on board intel hd is working and giving me display and through that i found that my gpu is not showing in the task manager.. i clear the cmos and unistall the drivers through ddu.. an hour ago i requested my friend to bring a gpu which is quite old 1 gb ddr3 card.. don't know the name of that card.. but it give me display without any issue.. now my concern is that do i need a better psu? my current psu is antec 500w and i also try to replace it with great wall 500w.. it stil give no display.. fans and all things are working but i am not getting display.. if someone can confirm me that so i will buy a new powersupply.. and also wanted to mention that i tried my card on a different system which has thermal take 650w psu and it worked there without any issue.. but the person wasn't giving me his psu for checking.. that's why i wanted to make sure is it a psu which is making issues?

Hey guys, I'd like to know what just happened here. I have put in a new cpu and updated BIOS before that and now my computer turned off and on by itself a few times until I turned off the power button on back. Can anyone tell me what just happened? Hey there, My PC ran into problem after installing a new gtx 1060 6g card to my system. the problem is that my pc will fail to boot and run the bios and the os and very rarely it will power up just fine with no problems at all (after a lot of power switching) My PC did not had any problems before the new graphics card. Here is a vid of my pc failing to boot (there nothing showing on the screen) (fans, leds working) one time i got this (and as far as i know i didn't overclocked any of my hardware ) (my win10 os says i'm running at stock speeds) My specs: CPU: intel i7-2600 (non k) / motherboard: ga-p67a-d3-b3 (bios f3) / GPU: GeForce® GTX 1060 D5 6G (rev. 2.0) / RAM: hyperx fury DDR3 4gb x2 / HDD: wdc wd10ealx (1TB) /PSU: Antec VP550P 550W Windows 10 64bit. Heres a pic of one time i did manage to get the system running with the new gtx 1060: please help! :C

Just re-installed windows. everything looked normal until i put the Microsoft Edge shortcut in the trashcan. the background immediately went black. I went to look at the personalize settings and it'll only let me change the accent color of menus. it doesn't even have options to change the backdrop. I ensured that windows is activated. what the hell is going on? -

I believe it is something to do with the OS. I read that it could be an USB controller on the MB that is dead, no ports anywhere was working even with different USB hardware. I moved the drive over to a different computer and booted up there. Same thing there as well. I get to the windows login screen without any issues, but it simply won't register any clicks. The keyboard is working fine during bootup for UEFI and whatnot, but when Windows loads in, the lights go out from the mouse/keyboard and it doesn't respond. I have tried looking in UEFI for SecureBoot, but it doesn't seem to have the option. I can't log in to Windows to change it, obviously, nor can I hold shift while clicking restart/shutdown in the start screen. Any ideas? UPDATE #1: I read somewhere that two consecutive unexpected shutdowns within 2 minutes will trigger the Windows RE, which was one goal as I wanted to try Safemode from there. It worked and I got it to boot in to Safety Mode, but I still don't get to use anything USB after then getting to the login screen. UPDATE #2: Tested external hardware, USB extender plugged in PCIe, didn't work. Tested PS/2 converter for mouse, but doesn't register anything. Clear CMOS by unplugging for a while, even took out on-board battery. Let it stay, pressed power on a few times and re-plugged. Nothing.

My main rig died the other day and I am perplexed at what happened as well as what the issue could be. I booted my computer like normal and it got to the windows 10 default screen where you put in your password. I went to click on my account to type in my password and the animation it does to change from the wallpaper to the input box stuttered like a game going like 5 FPS. Then once it finally got to where you could input the password before I could the screen went blank and I lost video signal. The system did not shut off and looked like it was still running normally. I manually powered down the system and tried to reboot but could not get it to POST. I cleared the CMOS, reseated the RAM and GPU, I even removed my R5 1600 to check for any damage to the CPU put everything looked normal. I reseated the cooler and tried again to no avail. I noticed at this point that the debug lights are lit for DRAM and CPU. I don't have another B350 MOBO around to use to test the CPU but when I put my RAM into my working intel system it wouldn't boot and it's RAM debug light was on as well. I tested the GPU it works perfectly and appears to be unaffected as well as the boot SSD. I am at a loss at what to do at this point. Should I RMA everything? Some parts? All these components are less than a year old and I need this rig to do my video editing. Hi everyone, It is time for me to get a new case... My needs seem to be hard to meet due to a lack of well basic computer cases. I can find cases that suit my needs, but they all have crazy windows and colors flashing out of them. I need a full atx case that has good dust filters, NO Window on the side panel, room for cables in behind the mother board and lastly, room for a AIO water-cooler for my CPU (preferably 240mm rad clearance). This is a case for a professional environment and can not have any flashy LED or nonsense the that, just a frigging Basic PC case! Also one last point, it needs to be from Canada Computers or a computer store biased in the GTA, I know that this might seem odd and annoying to some people, but it is important to me to support local computer businesses and I do not want another NCIX situation to occur in my backyard. Lastly, the Case must be reasonably priced, under 150CAD Thanks for the help!
