  1. Old: asrock b550 phantom gaming 4 New: MSI MAG B550 TOMAHAWK AM4 AMD AMD Ryzen™ 5 4500 6-Core nVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 Silicon Power Value Gaming DDR4 RAM 16GB (2x8GB) Apevia ATX-PR800W This computer is brand new, I got all the parts 7 days ago from today and everything was working fine. I was in the middle of playing and the screen freezes and goes to diagnostics, I turned it off and when I tried to turn it back on it wouldn’t display or post. It’s not the graphics card we tested on a different pc and it’s not the motherboard because I returned the asrock and got the msi one. The MSI one displayed for a sec but we missed bios and turned it off only for vga led to turn on. Same problem I had on the first board. The first board which the initial crash happened on first lit up on VGA and after hours of trouble shooting it went to boot. We tried with one ram, reset the cmos, tried hdmi on the first board. We moved everything over to the new board and same problem VGA. Pretty bummed out, we’re gonna try to trouble shoot again tomorrow but it’s not the gpu or mobo, I doubt it’s the cpu because it’s brand new and worked fine. Maybe it’s the psu but everything lights up all the fans spin and rgbs light up. Any help would be really appreciated.
  2. Hey, seems I'm making one of these again... I have an ASUS x570-E Gaming board. Yesterday I used the PC normally, without issues. Today it refused to start. It wasn't even willing to post, just threw a 1F error. Removed the CMOS battery, shorted the reset pins, took the graphics card out and put an old r7 250 in, but none of these helped. I checked the site, there was a new BIOS released 3 days ago, figured I'll install that through BIOS Flashback, maybe there was something important in it. Now I'm getting a 22 code, which seems RAM related. So I tried different sticks in different slots, tried with only 1 stick, tried without ram, nothing. This borad feels like a brittle POS. It took me almost 2 weeks to troubleshoot all the issues it had back when I put it in. It's barely been 2 month and it's started again. Full specs: Ryzen 9 5950x 4x8GB G.Skill Trident Z INNO3d RTX 4090 EVGA 1000GT 80+ Gold Alpenföhn 360AIO for the CPU. Any Ideas on what I could do with this garbage other than throwing it out?
  3. Hi there After not using my PC for 5 days it randomly shut off after about 1 hour of use. Now, when I turn on my PSU, the motherboard's RGB will turn on as normal. When I press the power button, it'll light up and stay lit indefinitely. The fans spin up for about a second, however immediately turn off again. None of the POST LEDs light up. It doesn't fully power off after, either. It's basically fully powered off except for the power button light stays lit and the button doesn't do anything upon pressing the button until I turn the PSU off and on. In addition, on the same evening, I might have broken some of my RAM. I was really sleep deprived and tried to test if the RAM was the problem. After that, I haven't attempted anything further. The system is about a year old: CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 5600X Motherboard: ASUS PRIME X570-PRO RAM: CORSAIR VENGEANCE RGB PRO SL (DDR4, 3600MHz, CL18, 4x16GB) GPU: GIGABYTE GeForce RTX 3080 VISION OC 10G Case: CORSAIR 4000D AIRFLOW Storage: 1TB Samsung 980 Pro, 2TB Samsung 980 Pro PSU: CORSAIR RM750x (750 Watt, 80+ Gold) Cooling: CORSAIR iCue H150i ELITE CAPELLIX Operating System: Windows 10 Pro 64 Bit If you need more details that will help solve this issue, I'll gladly provide. Edit 1: Whenever i pressed the power button my PSU would click once and then click again when I shut down my PC. I noticed that now the PSU clicks twice in quick succession. I reset the BIOS.
  4. Hello everyone, currently having an issue with a build I am assembling for a friend. On first power on the computer turned on and fans spun up but after 10 minutes of waiting it would not post. I powered it off and figured it needed a bios update to run the 5600X, so I used an Athlon 200GE I have for doing bios updates and testing on AM4 motherboards. It booted right up and posted in the bios without issue with the Athlon, I also noticed that the RGB lights came on right away when it started posting, which it didn't do with the 5600X installed, I did the bios update and reinstalled the 5600X back into the system. It again powered up with fans spinning(no RGB lights again) but no post or display, but then after about 5 minutes and me just about to power it down again(thinking the CPU was bad), the RGB lights came on and it posted with the 5600X. I figured maybe some weird bios settings refresh or something because it did have me reset the FTPM when it finally posted. I powered the system down and back on a couple of times to make sure it wasn't a fluke and then installed Windows. After installing and setting up Windows I turned the computer off and on, restarted it, let it go to sleep, the whole nine just making sure it didn't have that abnormally long post again. It didn't. I then went into bios to enable XMP on the memory. It enabled and the system restarted, going into the same post issue as before, I waited 10 minutes and nothing. Ended up having to reset the CMOS to get it to post again, and again it took 5 to 6 minutes of no RGB lights and display to finally light up and post. I did some more testing, in Windows. Once powered on the system will shut down, restart, and cold boot from being off for several hours no problem. However, the second I leave the system powered off and unplugged from the wall for more than 10 minutes(or try to enable XMP) it goes back to taking 5-6 minutes for it to finally post and display. I have never seen this before. Full specs(all parts are brand new): Ryzen 5 5600X 32GB(2x16GB) 3600mhz T-Force Vulcan Z DDR4 Memory Gigabyte B450m DS3h WiFi Rev: 1.2 MSI Ventus 3X GeForce RTX 3060ti Corsair RM750e 80+ Gold PSU Lian Li Liancool 205m Mesh Case Troubleshooting steps I have tried: Replaced CPU with another brand new 5600X I keep in stock (same issue) Tried two other kits of Ram, one that was on the QVL list (same issue) strangely the other ram kits do allow XMP to be enabled without it taking forever to post again regardless it still does it after a 10 minute power cycle Tried a different PSU (Same issue) Tried system outside of case on test bench (same issue) At this point I think the motherboard is just bad, he bought the parts and I told him to go with a better board originally before he purchased them, but he went with this one because of the price. I might just need to have him return it and get a different one. As it's the only thing I don't have another one to test it with. It's just such a weird issue I have never encountered before and I've tested everything else.
  5. English isn't my native language so sorry for this I need help with my pc that doesn't boot anymore after I used DDU to unistall de gpu drivers and take off the gpu (gtx 1080) and give it to its owner, now, that I wanted to start my pc it doesn't boot anymore, it lights up the VGA led and the debug code sometimes shows "A0 and A4" (I have an aorus ultra z590) I tried to take off the ssd and hdd, I tried to clear de CMOS, retire the CMOS battery and nothing happend, still the same, I'm out of ideas... I hope someone can help me with this and thank you Edit: I borrow a gpu from a friend, re-enabled integrated onboard graphics, everything working again, maybe aorus no more, just problems since y change mobo...
  6. Hi all, I've got an older system that I'm trying to work on (In a test bench right now), but whenever I put 2 (even 1) of my 4 sticks of ram into slots B1 and B2, the PC doesn't post no matter what. I've tried multiple sticks, multiple kits, etc. and none seem to work. A1 and A2 work perfectly, and I've tried the ram in another PC with a P5K Deluxe motherboard, and all seem to work too. I'm entirely lost on how to fix this issue. I did bend one pin back into position on the motherboard however, and I'm not entirely sure if that's what's causing this issue in the first place. I've put a picture of the 775 pinout, and a red circle on which pin it was. Specs: Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 (Stock Intel cooler) Asus P5K-E 4x2gb Kingston KVR667D2N5/2G DDR2-667 (On QVL list for this motherboard) Radeon HD 6750 Corsair HX620w The other computer I have (That works) is running: Intel Core 2 Quad Q9300 (Stock Intel Cooler) Asus P5k Deluxe 4x2gb Kingston KVR667D2N5/2G DDR2-667 (Again, on QVL list) Radeon HD 5770 Corsair AX850
  7. My build: i7-9700k gigabyte aorus z390 master zotac rtx 2060 cooler master 650W 80 plus gold My pc has been running absolutely fine for 3.5 years. But after updating my gpu driver recently the pc got completely frozen. Even power or reset button wasn't working. I had to unplug and re-plug to restart the computer. It ran fine for a couple of hours. When I left to do something else for around half an hour, after coming back I though my pc was in sleep mode as usual. But when I pressed power button I just heard a click sound from psu and pc didn't even post. No fans were spinning. The ram rgb lit up after a while and nothing else happened. Upon further pressing power button nothing else happened. When I turned off and on psu switch and pressed power button again, I heard the same click and the same thing happened. When I took out the GPU the pc started normally. None of my friends own a desktop so I can't check with another gpu or system. I took my pc to a local repair shop and they checked with a low power gpu (didn't need pcie power cable), the pc again turned on fine. They didn't have a power supply suitable for checking my GPU so I brought it back home. Now I want to take my gpu or psu to the shop I bought it from. It's not possible to take the whole pc due to some issues. Sadly gpu warranty period is over but PSU still has warranty left. So if the gpu is actually dead I'll have to get another one. But I'm unsure which one is causing the problem and which one to take. Please help me figure out what to do at this point. I saved up for years to build my pc. If I end up replacing the gpu, I'll have to settle for a gtx1650 or rx6400 since gpu prices has increased in my area and my budget decreased. So I kinda hope the psu is causing the problem. It really breaks my heart when I think about the whole ordeal. I wish better pc parts were available at similar price or same parts at a cheaper price after a few years but that is not the case.
  8. Hey, I've built my first PC, but I'm having some problems. I've assembled the computer, but I can't seem to get the motherboard to post into BIOS. My monitor only displays a black screen (I do have the HDMI plugged into the GPU). Two LED lights (out of four) trigger, with two lighting up: "Boot" and "VGA" and the "DRAM" and "CPU" ones not triggering. Here are my specs: Motherboard: ASROCK H670 PG Riptide CPU: Intel Core i3-12100F CPU Cooler: Scythe Mugen 5 Rev. C GPU: XFX Speedster SWFT309 AMD 6700 XT RAM: Kingston Fury RAM 32 GB GDDR4 3200 Mhz (4x8 GB sticks) PSU: Corsair RM850 850 W PSU 80 Plus Gold Storage: Western Digital m.2 2280 250 GB NVme (OS drive. I also have a 1 TB m.2 Nvme as well from WD.) Chassis: Lian Li Lancool 216 Things I've done to troubleshoot (that I've seen on this forum and others) leading up to this post. I've: Reseated the GPU three times Reseated the CPU three times Used one stick of RAM in each of the four Dimm slots, then powered on. quintuple checked the PSU Connectors are all installed correctly. One final note, since I've been doing research on what could be causing these issues. My PSU does make one small crackle sound when trying to boot. It's not constant, and only happens once. All fans seem to spin so long as the power is being delivered. Any help would be great.
  9. I was hosting a minecraft server and playing on it at the same time when everything started to get a bit funky, my audio started getting very crunchy and my mouse wasn’t working right, it felt like it was on ice, so I restarted and when I did that I logged in and then it instantly blue screened with CLOCK_WATCHDOG_TIMEOUT it got stuck at 30% on the blue screen so I shut off my pc and now my motherboard has a red light next to cpu and im not getting any display out even though all the fans are spinning. Also my boot ssd was almost full (5gb left) and it started to back up the minecraft server a bit before this all started not sure if that’s relevant but thought it might be. specs: cpu: i5 12600kf gpu: gtx 1650 ram: 16gb ddr4 3000 2x8 Storage: boot- Samsung 980 500gb nvme ssd. 10. Hi Guys So I need some help and i have tried everything. I recently bought an Rx 6600 with a raidmax xt 550w psu, however there is no post. Gpu fan starts spinning and then stops. Ive tried reseating the ram, cleared the cmos. Removed the cmos battery. Reseating the gpu, replugging the 6+2 power connector. I did have a gt 630 in before and it worked. Any suggestions? My specs are Iq57m Lenovo Mb I7 860 14gb ddr3 ram Raidmax Xt 550w Rx 6600

I cant shutdown the pc via the powerbutton, i need to turn it off from the psu. I checked aswell that all cables are connected such as the gpu pins, cpu. things that i already did; - try other ram - try 1 stick of ram in each slot - buy new cpu - reset cmos - try another gpu - try another cable/ monitor - try another psu - try another motherboard edit: it seems that i get 3 beeps , i bought a speaker for that matter, but after replacing them, i get now no beeps but aswell no screen
  12. Hi there, this is my first post to this forum so I hope I'm doing it right. I have this broken 3090 I'm trying to fix so I put it in a system of mine, and now I've had CPU errors on the motherboard led indicators with no post and sometimes some bootlooping. I'm using an rog x570-f gaming mobo and my CPU is a Ryzen 9 3950X. This is all running on a 1000W PSU and also a 600W PSU for the 3090 as I don't have the cables currently to put the 3099 on the same psu as the rest of the system. Before people suggest, I've tried my old gpu (titan xp), on the same power supply and everything with no luck. Any ideas? Anything would be incredibly helpful
  13. I've been dealing with a very frustrating issue for months now. Applying any bios setting and restarting makes it not post anymore. It gets stuck on the DRAM+CPU debug LEDs. However clearing CMOS and booting without ever entering bios will post just fine into the OS and everything works as it should. At first I thought it would probably be the issue with the AMD AGESA update everyone was talking about so I decided to wait out the bios updates, but now that the updated bioses (in my case 1.18.AS03) are out I can confidently say: my problem persists :( It seems to be independent of bios versions as well no amount of down or upgrading the bios will change anything. I tried every bios version on the driver and support page for this motherboard. It used to work fine before. Never did any overclocking or anything in the bios out of the ordinary. Its not the first time I had issues with this build, see my other thread for more info on that. Is the mobo toast? cpu defective? - I have no idea where even to start. Does anyone know whats going on? My system: - Asrock B650E PG Riptide WiFi (new) - AMD Ryzen 7600x (new) - 2x Crucial DIMM 16GB, DDR5-4800 - NH-D15 (from previous build, known good and working) - Seasonic Prime TX-750 750W PSU (from previous build, known good and working) - GTX 770 (from pevious build)
  14. Hey all, I have an Intel i7 990x, MSI X58A-GD45, Samsung 8GB X2 RAM in dual channel configuration, a HIS IceQ X2 graphics card (R9 280), a Seagate Barracuda 1000GB HDD, and an ATNG ATM-600FB power supply. I can’t get it to post. It does power on however. I’ve tried 2 different, confirmed working monitors on the correct source through both HDMI and Display Port. I’ve swapped the graphics card out with 2 other confirmed working graphics cards (RX 6500XT, GT 710). I’ve swapped out the RAM for a single 4GB stick. I've confirmed the Ramos in the correct slots and/or configuration. I have reseated the CPU, all cables, RAM, graphics cards etc. Also, the HDD is a loaner from a system just so I could get it to post (I didn’t think I needed a drive for it just to post but I’m trying everything) it has Windows 10 on it though. I have also used the CMOS reset button on the back I/O and used the jumper to clear CMOS. Nothing has worked so far. The only thing I can think of is the power supply. I would swap it out but, the only other one I have is from ANOTHER system doing the same thing! The other system is my daily driver that started to no post recently, so I may end up needing help with that one too. But, for the time being, the 990X system is the one I’m focusing on atm. Any ideas?
  15. Hi, This system had a broken power supply and I have just installed a new one, and immediately I have a new error. The VGA light on the EZ Debug LED is illuminated. I have triple checked and made sure that all cables have been inserted properly. I have re seated the GPU countless times, I thoroughly cleaned the contacts on the GPU with 91% Isopropyl alcohol, and I have reset the CMOS. This computer was working just fine and now suddenly I have all these errors. I have no idea what to do now, the computer has been nonfunctional for just over four months and all I want to do is get back to gaming. My specs are below: -MSI B450 -A PRO MAX Motherboard - Ryzen 3 3300X with stock cooler - TEAM T-FORCE DDR4 3000 RAM 16 GB (8GB x2) - 1 TB M.2 NVMe SSD (main drive) -2 TB 7200 RPM SATA HDD - thermaltake SMART BM2 650W - TP-Link Archer T4E - ASUS M DISC DVDRW I don't know the BIOS version, but I do know it should not be a problem as the computer was working fine with that BIOS version previously.
  16. Firstly, i power on the pc and sometimes the cpu light on my motherboard turns red, usually upon startup, then the light switches to another issue) other times there's no light at all. The motherboard starts beeping very rapidly, and i cant find anyway to decipher it, the beeping often changes too. And then, my DRAM light turns orange, (sometimes it'll flicker between that, and my red cpu light,) i tried taking out one stick of ram and alternating slots with them etc, but still no luck. Once, i took out one stick of ram, and the dram light went to having no light. And then i put the other stick of ram back in, and the build started powering up for about 2 secs, then power down, over and over again. lastly, my vga light on my motherboard turns white, when my dram, and cpu lights are off. my graphics cards fans spin upon startup, but later turn off. I tried using both it's dvi, and hdmi, but still no luck. It's a GTX 1050 ti so it doesn't need cables to my knowledge. ive taken out, the cpu twice, to see if it was damaged or had any paste on it, and it looked fine to me. (im not sure of the terms, but my aio cooler has a 3 pin connecter, and my mother board has 4 pins, so i tried it unplugged. And when i put it on the last 3 pins my cooler works fine, not sure if that has to do with it) I wanted to see if something was wrong with my graphics card, so i tried taking out my prebuilt pc's graphics card, to replace it. it didn't come out, at all, so i dusted it off and left it at that. Later noticing, it will no longer display anything. And my monitors now say no signal detected, the fans spin then turn off. in conclusion, i have no pc now, please help. 17. Hello. I have a pre-built 2015 HP ProDesk. Just this morning I was still using it perfectly fine and then I turned it off to do some errands. Later that afternoon, I went back to my room and turned my computer on again but then it didn't turn on and flashed a 5.2 error beep code. I went to the HP Forum to follow their guide regarding basic troubleshooting of these beep codes. I followed their listed solutions. I plugged it off, opened it, and reset my CMOS battery. It wasn't on the listed solutions, but I also took the liberty of re-seating the RAM because when I had minor problems with the PC, I usually just reseat ram and disconnect-connect some cables and it goes back up again. After that, I turned on the PC. The beep code was gone, but now it was just powered on with the HDD lights not turning on or even just blinking. The fans are up and running, my mouse didn't light up, but my keyboard actually did. Got back at it again. I tried to power it off by holding down the power button, but it won't power off that way, so I just unplugged it from the socket. I opened the PC again, disconnected some cables and took out the RAM, then I took out the CMOS battery to reset it (it doesn't have the jumper, just manually taking out the battery is the way). Gave it a good 30 minutes, and put everything back properly. I turned it on, and it was the same powered on but no POST state. I disconnected stuff again, but now I cleaned off the surface of the motherboard and the fans (didn't take out the CPU and heatsink) because I thought maybe it may help somehow. Gave it a good hour this time. I put everything back again, but still to no avail. Did it a couple more times, still the same powered on no POST. I have checked every cable, making sure they're seated and connected properly. Also checked the capacitors, no bulging, leak, or any damage of any sort. I have reseated the RAM several times. I have also replaced the PSU with a spare PSU I have that I am very much sure is 100% working. I've tried it another couple of times with my current PSU and the spare (both 100% fine), but still powered on but no POST state. What could be wrong? Thank you in advance. I have a lot of work piled up because of this :((((((
  18. I was using my pc not doing anything intensive and my PC crashed and had a blue screen. When I tried to turn it back on the CPU light on the mobo stays on. sometimes it flickers to DRAM for a split second then goes back to cpu. I have tried - clearing cmos(took out battery and touched prongs) - made sure CPU cable is in (took out put back in) - tried one RAM stick also in different places - unplugged PSU and held power button - made sure other connections on mobo are in - took out GPU and put back in My specs are: 3600 CPU 5600xt GPU 3600mhz RAM 650W gold PSU MX500 1TB SSD B550 Mortar Mobo P400 phanteks case Sadly I don’t have spare parts to test stuff. Any advice or suggestions of how to fix would be great. :)
  19. ASUS B450 RX 570 RYZEN 3200G 16GB RAM 850w Bronze PSU Pc fails to post properly. I plug in PSU, mb lights turn on, press power button, everything turns on, yet I get no signal from the monitor and keyboard and mouse don't light up. I've tested 2 different PSU, so probs not PSU issue. Also, I get no motherboard speaker beeps when I turn it on. I know the speakers work because when I take out the ram and turn pc on it starts to beep. Probs cpu or mb issue. What should I do?
  20. I recently acquired a used FM2-A75IA-E53 motherboard, supposedly, pulled off a working system. When I tried turning it on for the first time there was no POST, not even a display came up, and any usb peripherals I plugged in didn't seem to be getting any power. I plugged in peripherals I was sure worked, as well as monitor and display cables. At first I had installed an A4-7300 cpu, but learned that the motherboard may have needed a bios update to support that cpu, so I bought an A4-5300B just to update the bios, still no POST or power to usb? I do want to mention that the cpu fan turns on, the cpu is heating up, and the psu turns on. I know for a fact the psu, ram, peripherals, monitor, and cables work. There is a slight buzzing I can hear in the cpu socket even without the cpu installed but I'm not sure that is the problem. Apart from all this, the only weird thing is the 24 pin connector is difficult to plug in and unplug, but I don't see anything physically wrong with it. Any help would be so greatly appreciated. This is a repost of an earlier post I made which has gone unanswered. I am stumped and on the verge of giving up.
  21. Hey there, I build myself a little NAS Server with the X570D4U Mainboard from ASRockRack After I hooked all ( CPU cooler, ATX Power, CPU Power, etc. ) correctly up to the board and pressed the power key it turned up the fans and did a restart. I connected the VGA to the dedicated VGA Port from the Mobo which is powered by the BCM IPMI Chip but there is no output. For testing I also put in a Zotac Geforce GT10 for video output but still no video. After that I connected the dedicated IPMI Port to the Network. Finnaly in the IPMI there were no CPU or GPU or even no RAM detected in the Peripherals tab. I also tried the KVM interface of the IPMI but there was a black screen and a text saying "No Signal". Even after several reboots and testings I couldnt get a video signal out of the Board. Did anybody encountered this problem before or maybe has the same board at home and can give me some tips to fix my mainboard ? ( The ATX cable from the power supply was to short, so I extended it with a ATX extension cable from SilverStone ) btw. after all theese tests I did I think the board could be broken. Thank You !
  22. I have a really weird issue. I recently was trying to install a riser (ROG Strix Riser Cable | Gaming Cases|ROG - Republic of Gamers|ROG Global (asus.com) ) for my 3080FE after changing to PCIE 3.0 in the BIOS for my x570 mobo, and for some reason, my system decided to not POST after shutdown. I tried everything but the system just wont power up. So initially, I did all the below checks: Checked if all connections from PSU were plugged in properly. Moved GPU from riser to mobo. Removed GPU altogether Jumped the power button pins of case Tried booting with single RAM. Tried separate plug points. Tried different PSU power cable. Removed CMOS Jumped the CLRTC pins Post trying all this, I decided to paperclip test my PSU and it turned on. I switched off PSU, inserted the 24 Pin back in the mobo and system just booted up. So, I thought my PSU was done for and went ahead and bought another PSU. Again, same issue. As of now, if I have to turn on my PC after a shutdown, i have to first paperclip the 4th and 5th pin, and then insert the 24 pin back in mobo and press the start button. Once the system starts, everything seems to be running normally, temperatures are normal and I went ahead and benchmarked a few games but no crashes or overheating or anything. All the fans on mobo are working, no error QLED on MOBO, LED's are working and everything seems to be normal. Except, after every shutdown, I have to jump the 4th and 5th pins on 24 pin connector with a paperclip and thats only when it will start. Below are my system specs: Ryzen 5600x 32gb Gskill tridentZ 3080FE Asus tuf x570 gaming plus wifi motherboard Asus Rog strix 750W PSU and Antec HCG 850W PSU (Bought on the day I am making the post) Have tried both the PSU's and its the same thing. Have to jump the pins to ensure my system POSTs. Is this an indicator my mobo is the issue? But everything seems to be working fine so far.
  23. Hey everyone, I upgraded my 1070 to an RX6800 very impulsively today after my 1070 died while playing battlefront II. After lots of troubleshooting before purchasing my new GPU. My motherboard ASUS X570 Tuf Gaming Plus (wifi) was displaying the troubleshooting code for VGA. We tried clearing cmos, booting without GPU, switching PCI slots, etc. my system is as follows. R9 3900XT, RX6800 GPU, 32GB Corsair Vengance 3200MHz, ASUS X570 Tuf Gaming Plus (wifi). We were able to boot once with the new graphics card in place. But now it’s not booting and stuck at the original problem. White VGA light and not finishing the post sequence. Please heeeelp..
  24. B450m-a motherboard Ryzen 5 1600 Corsaire Vengeance LPX 8gb (2x4gb) The symptoms: The power button doesnt work, but i can turn it on by touching the two power pins with a screwdriver, then the fans spin up, it sounds like its on for 20 seconds, screen stays black, and it then shuts down. Pcpartpicker told me my parts were compatible. But do i need to update the bios on this motherboard for it to work? I dont have access to an old cpu so cant get into the bios to do that. I've tried to re-set the bios, and have moved the ram around in near every combination. From googling i suspect its this bios update issue. Can i update the bios without getting into the bios?
  25. System info: CPU: Ryzen 7 2700x @ 3.7 GHz MOBO: MSI B450 Tomahawk Max RAM: 4x8 Corsair Vengeance DDR4 3200 MHz (running at default 2133 MHz for troubleshooting) GPU: GTX 650 PSU: EVGA 750W 80+ Gold SSD 1: Crucial P2 1TB NVMe SSD SSD 2: Samsung 870 QVO 1TB SATA SSD 2 HDDs sitting in the drive stack but disconnected. Windows 10 Home Version 10.0.18363 Build 18363 BIOS Version 3.30 I recently got a new NVMe SSD (SSD 1 in the above list) and two more sticks of RAM (identical to what I had before) to upgrade from 16 to 32 GB. The RAM install went flawlessly. However, when I tried to boot, all I got was a boot error LED on the motherboard and my main monitor started flashing black, white, red, green, blue, red, green, blue, repeat. No POST with this configuration, so after some fiddling, I figured out that I can only get it to boot if I disconnect my main monitor before booting, then reconnect it after the PC is fully booted. I'm in the process of changing my boot drive from the old SATA SSD (SSD 2) to the new NVMe SSD (SSD 1). I used Macrium Reflect to clone the old drive to the new one, and I'm able to boot to either of them just by choosing in the boot menu, but only while the main monitor is disconnected. Why is this? Thanks in advance.
