I want to build new gaming pc. I have one option of used pc with intel i5 4590(3.3 ghz, 4 cores), 8 gb 1600mhz. Or should i build with ryzen 5 1600(6 core, 12 threads)? I also need this machine to run vmware for my college projects. For graphic card, I'm stuck on gtx 1060 6gb vs rx 580 8gb. Because both have same price right now.

So the gist of it is I have an asrock ab350M pro 4 and a ryzen 2200g already in my closet brand new, my old rig after 10 years of faithful service completely died. So I'm looking for advice on what I could possibly upgrade to in a budget of about $300 USD, I would need a case, ram, video card, ssd, and a psu. Hi so I just built my first PC over the weekend. Thing is that I'd like to use discord from this pc and the thing isnt recognizing my headphone's mic. It's a bose quietcomfort one and ive been using it for a year without any problems. I've attached pics of what this looks like - I put in my headphone to the line in and it recognized the mic but no audio was coming out of the headphones. I then put it in the line out and the opposite happened. I tried the "rear" option but that didnt do anything at all. The front side of my case - Despite it showing headphones the mic isnt being recognized. So please keep in mind that I know nothing about PC's and this is probably really simple to a lot of you but I'd really appreciate some help with this. Do I really need to buy an audio splitter???? That's what a friend said and I'm honestly not sure what that even is... Thanks for your help!

I have a 75hz 5ms monitor right now so that should be an easy check mark. Not existing parts. Hello! My Name is Ryan and I have had a Best Buy prebuilt for about 2.5 years until 2 days ago. First off I know a Best Buy prebuilt is bad so I’ll never do it again lol. The story behind the brick is when I was preparing to leave for my family cottage my PC was updating everything and my power went out. One of those 1-2 second outages but enough to stop the update in its tracks. After booting up after the incident my WiFi and audio was completely messed up. It’s a long story but in the end I reinstalled windows. After finishing the install all I did was download chrome and turn it off for the day. When I woke up the next day it was not giving signal to my monitor. After removing and replugging in my Graphics card and Ram to no avail I took it in to Best Buy to see what the problem is. They said multiple thing (Pretty much everything but the power supply) was broken and needed replacing. The brings us to right now. As said above I have $400-500 CAD to work with and no extra parts and all the peripherals I need. No wanting grams above 75 to match my hz and nothing fancy but will get the job done. I made a lost of something I like and would appreciate revisions, suggestions or completely different builds! Thanks for everything in advance.

so i recently bought my new pc in mid august with the following specs: MSI MAG X570 TOMAHAWK WIFI (motherboard) AMD R7 3700X (cpu) GIGABYTE WINDFORCE OC 3X 8 GB RTX 2070 SUPER(gpu) GIGABYTE B700H (80+ bronze power supply) CORSAIR VENGEANCE 3200mhz 8GBx2(16 GB TOTAL) RAM KINGSTON A2000 SSD(primary) and today my new lavalier microphone OSAKA MICROPHONE arrived.(it has a adapter to convert 4 pin to 3 pin for pc) i previously had that handheld wired philips mic that i was using to play warzone. i used both mics and there was a static coming from both front and rear mic- in. i tested it on a hp pavillion laptop with both 4 pin and 3 pin adapter and there was no static. same with the philips mic. i also tested it on my phones and there was still no static. what should i do?

So today I finished building my first PC. I was trying to download Windows 10 onto it, so I went out and bought a 32GB USB flash drive I know 32GB is a lot, but I got a good deal. When I plug it into my old HP laptop, it shows up in files. However, when I go to download the Windows 10 ISO, and I select put Windows onto an external drive, it does not show up there. So in short, when I try to find the USB flash drive, it shows up in Files. But it does not show up in the ISO download app. Can anyone help? If I have to get a different flash drive that’s fine. Budget (including currency): 1000-2000 EUR Country: Slovenia, but potentially buying from Switzerland (Toppreise.ch has better offers than my country due to lower tax and I know some people in Switzerland to get me stuff) Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: A little of everything. I would like the PC to support AAA games at decent setting. The main reason is I want to start poking at 3d and 2d game development with unity, unreal engine and into android development. Would use the machine for photo and video editing too, but i don't mind waiting a minute longer for rendering. If possible I would also like the PC to support VR development (not necessarily with the components I will buy now, but upgradable to that point). Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): My current setup consist of: i5-3450 CPU(3.1Ghz), 8gigs of RAM, H77M ASRock motherboard and an AMD Radeon HD 7700 series. Im using 1 monitor 1920x1080 60hz ag neovo. The PC is about 7 years old and works fine, but I cant play games anymore and some heavy programs really cripple the machine. Im looking for the best pc/euro purchase. For my new pc I would use a 2k or 4k main IPS 60hz monitor for work and a 144hz gaming full HD side monitor (Maybe adding the 3rd one down the road). You can recommend those as well.(if possible, the whole setup with monitors included should coat under 2000€. I would buy VR gear later down the road). I'm looking for the best price/performance ratio. I would like to buy the machine before 2021. I am very flexible and don't mind spending extra or less, if the premium is too high for that kind of work right now. Looking forward to suggestions from you all enthusiasts.

I'm currently building a pc, comprised of new and used parts. This is my 3rd build, I'm not a rookie at this but certainly not a pro. The system turns on, fans spin, mobo lights up, and everything seems to be on. I get no display. The mobo's ez debug boot led is on. Specs: Ryzen 5 2600 - Tested with Asus Meg x570 Ace and works great. 16 GB 2400 ballistix sport ram - Tested and working in other build. Msi Duke gtx 1080 - Tested and working in other build. Corsair cx650m PSU New Seagate barracuda 2tb drive I've tried 2 mobos: Gigabyte B450 Aorus M - This mobo is new, boot led is on when starting up. Asus Prime B450M-K - This mobo is also new, same result. I suspect this is a mobo problem, since all other parts have been tested and working. Is this a bios issue? Are the motherboards compatible with the cpu? I have tried quite a few basic troubleshooting tests but have had no luck. Thank you.

New PC build won't post. Looking for a little advice on what to check. I have an MSI motherboard with EZ Debug LEDs. When I turn on the PC the CPU LED comes on for a brief moment, then the DRAM LED lights up for 3-6 seconds. Afterwards, no more LEDs except the RGB. The only cords into the PC are power and a DP cable (into the GPU). Same for the monitor that it is connected to. I have power to the Mobo, GPU, CPU, and HDD. Build is an MSI MPG Z390M Gaming Edge, i5 9600k, 8gb×2 G Skill Ripjaws, EVGA RTX 2060. If any of that may matter.

As i know more about expensive pc parts than low cost pcs. My friends needs a low cost pc nearly about 7000rs ($100) with new parts. It will be used for general tasks. Not gaming, he might play san andreas. I wanna leave some room for light gaming which i know is hard without used pc parts. I need recommendations about which processor i should use? He don't care about looks. I was thinking about core 2 quad or duo processor but i don't know much about them and amd processors. Reply fast pals.

If you have any advice or optimization tips, Ill gladly take them. Hello everyone! I would like to share with you my current build and a story: Intel Core i72600 Dell 0y2mrg G.Skill Sniper 32gb(4x8gb) EVGA GTX 980ti ftw EVGA Supernova 750 G2 Here's a little bit of history behind this Dell XPS 8300 from 2011. I bought it by phone and got the Dell XPS8300 at a bare minimum close to 700 USD. Purchased the memory separately and started at 16gb at start. Counter strike 1.6, Dota1/2 and Diablo all ran great. As for video cards, I started with the stock GeForce 6800 GT something then this computer went on a video card journey. EVGA GeForce 9800 GT -> EVGA GTX 260 -> EVGA GTX 280 -> EVGA GeForce GTX770 SC. When I bought the 770 I remember thinking the card would last forever. Thought the same thing getting the 980ti.. and here and I am now buying the 1080ti. Now I hope, and have a good feeling that they will, make faster cards well into the future. Over time I upgraded the memory, power supply, and the hard drives. Running raid 0 on two kingston ssds from, I dunno when, gets me to the login screen under 20 seconds from a cold boot. The Windows starting logo starts its animation for about a second and then login screen. I also get a constant 60-105fps in pubg @ 1080 all settings low exempt antialias and textures both on high. Just recently the motherboard died on me. All the usb ports started to fail one by one and by the time the replacement arrived I was down to 1 port haha. I have since replaced the motherboard and it's just like new but the whole ordeal opened my eyes.. I believe an upgrade is well over due. Over the last few months I've been compiling a list. Here's what I'm planning to upgrade to and would like your opinions. What do you think about this build? How can I improve it? Should I get the G.Skill Tridentz instead? Let me know! Specs: ASUS ROG STRIX B350-F GAMING AMD Ryzen AM4 DDR4 ATX AMD Ryzen 5 2600 Processor AM4 Evga DG-73 MATTE Black case SanDisk SSD Plus 240GB (1x) Ballistix Spolt LT 8GB DDR4 2666 Corsair cx 650 Watt 80 plus silver Modular This is my first build. Everything turns on including the fans, unboard motherboard led's, no beeps, and case power button led turns on but nothing appears on my monitor when i plug in the HDMI cable. I have the ram in the right slot, fan plugged in, power supply turned on, ssd plugged into motherboard and power supply. I currently don't have a GPU so im using the HDMI input on the motherboard. I need help please and thank you.

Hello I am in need of serious help so I’ve built my first pc it has a Asus 8gb dual oc 1070 and the cpu is the ryzen 7 2700x which I have put the stock cooler on and the mobo is a asus prime x470 pro the psu is a Corsair rmx850 white and when I press the power button the video output no beeps and no post but everything turn on properly I’ve followed the 20 troubleshooting steps with no success and I have no idea what is wrong with my pc it could be anything I put the power connected in all of the correct places hope someone helps!! -
Just built a new pc with a friend of mine, I've built/help build 4 pcs now and rebuilt my own a couple times. But this hasn't happened before. All new components but when we turn it in to POST no image comes on. All fans spin and lights turn on. Tried both GPU and mobo outputs but still not image. Read online and then adjusted the gpu in and out and the ram too but still no image. Could taking the bios battery out help? Any advice would be great, thanks! Ed Will get a list of components if you need it when he sends them on.
