my friend that I have mentioned in a few earlier threads has been having problems getting his pc to post, so after a LOT of switching parts in and out of my pc we concluded there was a dead head drive and the motherboard was shorted out somehow. So he sometime in the near future is going to get a standard wd blue 1 terabyte hard drive or something to better fit his needs and he wants to get a micro atx mobo around 50$. Also I want to help him actually build it because I have more experience and I dont want him to short it out again TL:DR Im helping a friend salvage some parts like cpu, psu, and ram how do I safely take out cpu and clean and the ram stick should be simple?

So well i am considering to get a new pc last pc. Little Back story.... so i've been using a pre-built gaming desktop over 10 years ago, got it around 2009 or 2010, but it still runs and i only updated the graphics card once to a wopping 760 gtx over 8 years ago, a few years later i moved from sweden to england and got me a new laptop, or new then, (now its roughly 3.5 years old) a msi, with a gtx 970m, and i been using that since, now i think its time to upgrade my old pc, or get a whole new system, the pc i am considering to buy is the one i am writing the stats for, from scan, you can also check it the link down below, i'm also writing the stats here in this post; So the Pc costs 2499euros and i'm not sure if i build it my self i will get better price, or more value, i dont mind going a bit cheaper, but roughly 2500euros is where i stop going up, any tips or if you know if its a good buy, let me know, thanks! I’m building a new pc and I’ve installed all of the pieces, I tried turning it on multiple times all I get is the motherboard and case led lights blinking a few times but that’s it. No fans spinning. I’m sure it’s not the psu I’ve tested it and the fans spin, I’ve already replaced the motherboard I’ve tested occupying the first dimm slot with both ram sticks. The cpu pins don’t appear to be damaged or at least what I can see pc specs CPU: i7 8700 motherboard: msi b360 gaming plus cpu cooler: enermax ets n302 ram: Corsair vengeance LPX 2 x 16gb GPU: MSI ventus 2060 hard drive: WD blue 1TB ssd: Samsung 860 250gb case: zalman z1 neo psu: Lepa mx f1

My rig is still my starter pc i build afew years ago when i first got into pc gaming. im running an: amd FX 6300 Gtx 980ti generic AM3+ motherboard (didnt really put much thought into it) 750w modular power supply 16gb ddr3 ram 500gb ssd (WITH OS) 1tb sshd (for games) peripherals: 24" 1080p asus monitor logitech keyboard and mouse (Older so cant see the model number) my custom HIFI sound system i already had. Wanting to upgrade it but not sure what to do as i cant upgrade to ryzen. was offered an fx 9590 for £50 and was very tempted as my cpu does need a boost but i think my ram and storage needs a boost too so not sure honestly.

My friend is gonna make a new gaming PC but has a large budget i was in charge of designing said PC but I'm used to low budgets and his budget is 1500-1800. Aesthetics matter so a bit of RGB please.

Ok, so I'm fairly new to this whole pc building, when I say "new" I don't mean completely I just never had to put a pc together although I know all the parts. so I bought mt pc pre-built from micro center and I feel its time for an upgrade Currently (post-upgrade)my pc stands with Mobo: ASRock - b250m-HDV Micro ATX LGA1151 CPU: I5 - 7300 3.4 GHz GPU: 1050TI RAM: 8gb PSU: some 400w PSU don't know the brand My plan is to upgrade my PSU and GPU and RAM and add an SSD So after the upgrade, it'll be Mobo: ASRock - b250m-HDV Micro ATX LGA1151 CPU: I5 - 7300 3.4 GHz GPU: EVGA GeForce RTX 2060 XC Gaming 6GB GDDR6 RAM: Corsair Vengeance LPX 16GB (2x8GB) PSU: (need help here) EVGA 500 W1, 80+ WHITE 500W? (I've heard stories of this frying PCs whole and I want to avoid that at all cost as I wouldn't have money to replace an almost $400 dollar GPU let alone an entire pc) So my Main concerns are can all that go together? (PC part picker says yes but also get a second opinion) and is that PSU enough/good enough to power my pc and not turn it into home fires?

I want to build a pc for my friend to play 1080p games at 60 fps for a good price but I'm not too sure where to start I found a dell OptiPlex that has a i7 3770 16 gb of ddr 3 ram 500gb HDD 120gb ssd and a AMD Radeon 7570. my plan is to switch the graphics card with a gtx 1660 and call it a day but I'm not sure how it would perform and if it would be good enough my max budget is 750

Hi, this is my first time posting on this forum...but I have an issue I just cant for the life of me figure out. I upgraded my PC recently. The only thing I carried over to the new build was my OS and my graphics card for now. My old build was and AMD8350 with a gtx 780ti and 8gb of ram running windows 7 64bit on an old cheep am3+ motherboard. Now My PC is i9900k with 32gb of ram and an old 780ti still on windows 7. *Trust me know how ridiculous that 780 ti looks in that system and running windows 7*..however I am waiting for the new "SUPER" NVIDIA cards to come out b4 I buy. I have already bought windows 10. But that won't come in for a few days. Now down to the issue. When I boot the pc it seems to load fine and get to my windows log-in screen, however when I go to type or if I hit Ctrl+Alt+Delete nothing happens. This same freeze happens in every safe mode as well. But When I throw my GPU and ssd's with the OS into the old system it works completely fine with my keyboard and mouse. I know it's not the drivers as far as the mouse and keyboard. I set up the bios to be running legacy boot options since I have windows 7 still. In the bios my main drive with windows is the selected boot device and For my bios/motherboard I'm running Asus maximus xi. If you have any questions or any thought and what this could be please ask I am completely lost and I have tried everything I know. Please help.

Mobo : MSI z390 Gaming Edge AC Cpu: I7 8700k I just built my new pc and when I go to install windows it says there’s no available drivers. I downloaded all the drivers from both intel and msi, not knowing exactly what I needed. Then my pc finally recognizes one of the drivers and I go to install it and it fails. I have no idea what’s going on. Every time I’ve made a clean install of windows it goes straight through the process no problem. I just want to use my new pc ?

Hi, After 5 years I decided its time to build myself a new PC. I selected these parts ---------------------------- Motherboard: ASUS ROG STRIX Z390-F GAMING Graphics card: ASUS ROG STRIX GAMING GeForce RTX 2080 O8GB Processor: Intel Core I9-9900K Cooler: NZXT Kraken X62 Ram: G.SKILL 16GB KIT DDR4 3200MHz CL16 Trident Z RGB Storage: Samsung 970 EVO PLUS 1 TB Case: NZXT H700 PSU: Seasonic Focus Plus 750 Platinum More RGB: AKASA Vegas MBA Also im goin for a new 27" 144 Hz monitor --> HP 27xq ---------------------------- I think this should work fine together. My goal is to build PC for gaming and work ( Unity / Android Studio / Blender ) with decent amount of RGB lighting. My current build ( FX-8350 , GTX 960 2GB ) is very limiting for me and Im done with it. The only thing that really buggs my mind is the motherboard. I cannot decide between this one and Maximus XI Hero ( without wifi ). Will this motherboard be enough for i9-9900K to not stop it from bursting its full potential, or should I rather get the Maximus ? Pricing in my country is 217 US dollars for Strix F and 308 US dollars for Maximus. To be honest I dont see much of difference between these motherboards other than style / rgb. I dont mind paying 90 dollars extra, but if the only thing i will get is style, then Ill rather buy the GSkills Royal rams, because they look awsome Thank for help:)

So im wanting to build my first pc and these are the parts I have picked out. I just want to know what you guys think. As a side note it did say the M.2 slot #1 shares bandwidth with a SATA 6.0 Gb/s port. From what I can tell it’s not an issue but just wanted to check with more experienced people first.

Im a 15 year old living in Dubai... I recently decided to build my first PC on a 700$ budget. I will be moving to India after i build this. I want to know your opinion on my pc. Also if anyone lives in Dubai and knows where to get pc parts at good price please tell me. The prices are a bit overpriced here so I'm getting most of them through New Egg Global and some through souq.com ( amazon company based in Middle East). I'm listing my PC build and If you guys can suggest me to make my build better without going over budget it would be great. I'll also be linking the the links to the components from where i intend to buy. I recently built my first PC and i'm trying to format the hard drive I got for it but when I open the disk manager tab I don't receive the notification prompting me to do initialize, what can I do to fix this? (The hard drive does show up in the bios) Thanks in advance!

Hi, I built my new PC just recently, everything went fine, from installing hardware to installing required software. However when I got to installing driver for my GPU, it looks like it works fine, but AMD system administrator doesn't see it, and whenever I try to use any programs, it slow down and the screen goes black for a moment and reappears , freezing the entire time. When i shut down all programs, PC continues to work "normally". When i install older drivers for the GPU, PC seems stable, but then games won't work because the drivers are too old, and tells me i should update to new drivers. My specs are: Ryzen 7 3700X ASUS ROG Strix X570-E Gaming Trident Z 3200Mhz 32 GB ASUS ROG Strix RX5700XT O8G Gaming (problematic GPU) Crucial SSD 1 TB WD Blue 2x4GB OS Windows 10 home 64bit Thank you fro any advice.

Hi,so im finally here,on the LTT forums. Firstly i'd like to say that i recently build my new PC and i've NEVER ever used an SSD before and now i have two of them as my boot and games drives. So please excuse my ignorance and unpreparedness, but all i know is that AHCI is on and working, but RAID is not. My drives are these: C:/Samsung 970 Evo Plus 250GB D:/GoodRam CX400 512GB (aka this https://www.goodram.com/en/products/ssd-cx400-sata-iii-25/ ) Now,my problem is that,i have three games that are currently installed trough Steam which are: 1)Tomb Raider 2)Assassin's Creed Odyssey 3)La Noire Both ASCD and LN run badly. They stutter every 20-30 mins of gameplay. They basically freeze for 30 seconds,i can move my mouse around and everything else continues as usual (in LN the other cars keep moving even) this mostly happens when i move around/fight in those games so im guessing theres a render issue or something. Edit 1: Yesterday i noticed while playing ASCD and experiencing another 15-30 second freeze, upon opening my Task Manager that my D disk had completely dissapeared, and then after the freeze stopped it appeared again, now with a 100% usage and big fluctuation. So its just shutting off bc of too much stress/throttle? Edit 2:okay so i 'tested' my pc on this site and heres my results: https://www.userbenchmark.com/UserRun/21275150 Im pretty sure i put the nvme ssd in the right place,on the bottom lane bc the manual said it was equal to the other one. Also i tested them both with samsung magician and got different results? (look at the reads on the D drive)

So I’m switching to PC pretty soon as Playstation and Xbox just aren’t fun to me anymore, but I don’t know a damn thing about building but I’m willing to give it a shot! But I thought I’d come here and see if I could get some tips on a nice setup. A guy sent me a setup but I also want some opinions on it and maybe see if I should spend extra or keep that setup. AMD Ryzen 5 2600 3.4 GHz 6-Core Processor ASRock B450M Pro4-F Micro ATX AM4 Motherboard Team T-FORCE VULCAN Z 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) DDR4-3200 Memory Sabrent Rocket 512 GB M.2-2280 NVME Solid State Drive MSI GeForce RTX 2060 6 GB VENTUS OC Video Card Cooler Master MasterBox Q300L MicroATX Mini Tower Case EVGA BQ 600 W 80+ Bronze Certified Semi-modular ATX Power Supply Deepcool RF 120 (3 in 1) 56.5 CFM 120 mm Fans That’s around $776 for me. Should I spend more? Or is that a good setup for a beginner? Any help would be much appreciated!!!

So I built a new PC about a month ago, and everything seemed to go fine. It booted up first try and everything seemed to be working, except for the monitor which came with a broken screen but that isn't important right now. So about a week ago, I wake up and went to go use my PC. It was shut off because of the amount of time it had sat inactive. I turned it on and my monitor turned on for a second before saying no signal and turning back off. The PC still appears to be on but the monitor isn't getting any signal. SO I turn the PC off and Back on again and this time I get a light on my motherboard that says VGA next to it. I look it up in the manual and sure enough it says no VGA output.I open up the PC and unplug and remove the graphics card and inspect it. There seems to be no physical damage. I plug it back in and sure enough it works. But now every time my computer shuts off, this same problem occurs. Its happened once a day for the last 3 days. I'm able to fix it but am worried this is a precursor to something worse. Any help would be appreciated. Here is the link to my parts list. https://pcpartpicker.com/user/mcfeegan123/saved/HYYk6h

I decided to document my first pc build ever, after getting it fully assembled I went to turn it on and got absolutely nothing, no led's no fans spinnings. So I had to go into troubleshooting mode and all together probably spent 20 hours on building/troubleshooting/watching videos/and posting on forums. I couldn't figure it out so I had my dad come over, who's a master electrician to take a took at it and he spotted the problem in 2 seconds. I had only 14 pins of my 24 pin connector plugged in on my power supply side, while the 10 pin connector was just hanging there...won't make that mistake again. All together I spent just over $1400 before tax. I'm really happy with how it turned out and even though it was a pain in the ass, learning how to troubleshoot will be valuable in the future. Thanks to the people on the troubleshooting thread that helped me out. I also made a video out of it:

Hello, I am building my first PC and need a little help deciding on the proper way of approaching the selection of these components. I want to be able to game AAA titles as well as a few e-sports titles. I am currently stuck in between picking which of these components would best fit together. I am aware the higher resolution will increase the load on my GPU and it will mostly bottleneck before the CPU, but I am not sure when and how. I have not built a system for myself in the last 10 years. Any specific suggestions and criticisms are most welcome. Also if you guys feel I need to maybe consider some entirely new (component etc), please feel free to share. I need help with deciding which parts work best together for a 60+ FPS - 1440p ultrawide gaming. My Use-case Gaming - AAA + Dota (NO Streaming) Work - Programming, spreadsheets, browsing Movies List of some parts I am considering along with their regional price in USD Monitors (Very little availability in ultrawide) i/o is not very important for me here as long as it does not bottle neck my FPS. Would prefer an ultrawide, good colours and good picture quality. Acer Preditor X34 - $912 (IPS, 100/120Hz, G-sync, 3440x1440 [21:9], 300Nits) LG 34UC79G - $772 IPS, 144H, 2560x1080, 250Nit) Acer is my first choice here. Let me know what you guys think. GPU I need to justify the purchase keeping the monitor in mind while ensuring its somewhat future proof. Only Gaming workloads. RTX 2060 Super - $434 RTX 2070 Super - $561 RTX 2070 - $490 5700 - $434 5700XT - $490 CPU I do not need a very powerful CPU for my day to day work. I need it to not bottle-neck and keep it snappy and future-proof. Ryzen 5 3600 - $225 Ryzen 7 2700 - $260 Rest I will get a 80+Bronze supply, A b450 with good VRM etc. All the above I can fit into my budget. Does not mean I want to spend for something I cant use. A lot of commonly available components are currently not available in my country of residence. Also prices here are pretty high with import duties and taxes. Many products are impossible to get any after sales service for. Thank You
