Hi! This is my first post on this forum, I have a problem that is starting to worry me (mainly because I don't know how this power supply works). 2 months ago I decided to upgrade my PC (graphics card and psu) I will leave a list of my components so you have a better idea of what could be happening. Also sorry for my english not my native language. CPU: Ryzen 5 5600X (no overclock i think) GPU: 3070 Gigabyte Eagle 8GB PSU: Gigabyte Aorus P750W 80 Gold Ram: 16GB DRR4 3200Mhz Adata Motherboard: X570 Asrock Steel Legend Storage: 3 Sata SSD 1 M.2 SSD 1 M.2 Nvme The problem started from the first week that I was with the power supply, here in Argentina (where I live) the previous month there were many power outages, the first time it happened and the electricity came back on I tried to turn on the computer. I tried to turn it on and saw that the fans turned for a few seconds and then it turned off again, also when I try to turn it on it makes a kind of metallic sound. And at not having had an experience like this before, I decided to unplug it from the power cable and plug it back in after a few minutes. It turns on and works fine as if nothing had happened, at that moment I thought that maybe this was the way to protect the components from a short circuit, functioning as a kind of safety lock, but it still causes me concern, that's basically why I'm here making this post. The gpu it's used, but i did it all the stress test i can and it works fine, It never turned off in the middle of a gaming or stress session even. The psu it's new from what I know and i have local warranty so i can return it. Also the psu has and B in the psu list so that's why i trust that psu. If you need more details or information just comment and I will get it to you as soon as possible, so far the PC is still working, but it is to find out if there is something wrong with my PC or if it is something that is normal. I really hope i can know what's going on with the psu (if it is the psu), It will help me reduce the stress of thinking that my computer is about to explode. At the moment, hope you can help me

Budget (including currency): 1500 dollars Country: USA Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Bf2042, Apex, Elden ring, seige Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): I'm looking into buying and or building anew pc for around 1500 dollars US. I'm leaning toward a pre-bult, just for warranty and being easier to purchase. I built my last pc, so I'm not concerned about building my own if the deals are right. For pre-builts, what would you guys recommend? For building your own, what would you recommend? I would like this to last me around 3 years. I game at 1080p currently but would like to go to 1440p eventually. Thanks for any insights/responses!

Hello, I just recently built a new pc. And I was a bit worried if my cpu is bottleneckning my gpu. Since I just assumed that the ryzen 5 7600x would work good with the 4070ti since both are relatively new and fast gaming components. Currently I play on 1080p but might buy a 1440p monitor since I understand that the 4070ti is better running on 1440p games. RTX 4070 TI RYZEN 5 7600X 32GB RAM 4800MHZ M.2 WD BLACK SSD AM5 MOTHERBOARD What are your thoughts? on https://pc-builds.com/bottleneck-calculator/ it said that the cpu is bottlenecking my gpu with 20-30% which o course is worrying.

i recently just made my first pc with my friend and ordered all new parts from black friday. Current Build - CPU: AMD Ryzen 5600X - Motherboard: MSI Pro B550m-VC Wifi ProSeries Motherboard - GPU: MSI Gaming Radeon Rx 6750 XT 12 GB - PSU: Pure Power 12 M 750W - RAM: Silicon Power Value Gaming DDR4 RAM 16G We built the build and everything went fine as my friend is a pc builder himself. We were able to perfectly and smoothly instal windows through a USB flash drive with my mouse and keyboard hooked up to the mother board and the GPU hooked up into the monitor. Windows installed and i entered my key then all was left was to connect to wifi. We sadly couldn’t find any wifi displaying on there so we rebooted the pc to see if it needed a restart. When that happened sadly the monitor said no display and the gpu fan stoppedrunning. What basically happened - Installed Windows - Couldn’t connect to Wifi so we rebooted - PC power goes through and the CPU fan spins with the RAM light on being the color white. - No power goes into the gaming mouse or keyboard cause the led lights weren’t on (pc was on and CPU fan was spinning) - The gpu is weird as after i shutdown my pc because there’s no display nor power into the USB the GPU fan spins for 3 seconds then stops. Same thing with the Mouse however it turns on for 5 seconds when i start up the pc. - (yes the display cord is plugged into the GPU) -( 70% sure windows installed cause we were able to get all the way until it showed connect to wifi) - i don’t think the gpu is a faulty gpu because it was working perfectly before. - it also shows no display Please let me know what happened or what I can do (gpu is 100% not overheating cause i haven’t even played or installed anything into the pc as it’s brand new) (if you want to see a video let me know if that helps so you can tell me what happened)

So here’s what’s happening, right now I do not have a graphics card but I wanted to turn on my PC and see it all light up and spin to life, but when I turn everything on, I get a red CPU light and a red DRAM light, the fans will spin for a minute and then the power supply will click, the lights go off it tries again and it does this over and over again. I have reseated my CPU, tried 1 stick of ram and all of the combinations of ram slots, making sure my 24 pin power was seated properly, making sure my 8 pin CPU power was seated properly, I tried clearing the cmos, but nothing seems to work specs: Ryzen 5 5600x Asrock B550Am mATX PNY XLR8 2 x 16 ddr4 3200 Corsair HX750 PSU i did buy some of these parts used and it’s entirely possible that I got scammed, even so I was hoping for troubleshooting advice and next steps if I do need to buy new parts, where should I start and how can I lose the least money

I have build a PC, two weeks before, and after installing windows 11 it worked fine. But recently on startup, after the bios screen, the screen becomes black and the fans ramp up to maximum. Especially the ones on the gpu The bios functions fine and does not crash. What i have tried: - Resetting the bios and removing the cmos battery - Updating the bios to version 7.07 (B760M PG Riptide) - Removing one stick of ram at the time and booting with only one - Reseating the gpu and reconnecting the power cables - Booting with a linux usb environment crashes instantly when selecting - try or install ubuntu - as described above - Removed the m.2 ssd and tried to boot without that to a usb flash drive - Reinstalling windows results into it working once (I also shut it down without drivers installed and it started again), but it randomly crashed when installing the video drivers and the same problem now occures. This is the pc: https://de.pcpartpicker.com/list/H4gHh3 Hope somebody can help me and sry for my bad english Thanks in advance!

Hello, I have just had a new PC and admittedly know next to nothing about PC parts and specs and everything that goes with that. My new PC has an RTX 4070 TI Graphics Card, and this is all I had to put in the PC upon delivery. This is now done and it seems to work completely fine, however upon starting my PC up I know have red text in the bottom right hand corner of my screen saying “NVIDIA Confidential” followed by random numbers and letters. Does anybody know how to get rid of this red text? I have installed the drivers as instructed since turning the PC on but the text has not disappeared. Any advice is much appreciated, Thanks!

Hi everyone! I am looking to buy a new device so that I can game on it. Currently I have a LG gram 14 2021 (pretty good machine) but its biggest drawback right now is that gaming (at 1080p) on this thing is pretty impossible. I started looking for a new pc (desktop or laptop) and I fumbled accros an "amazing" deal (I think). The catch here is that I live in Europe and the price of these products are higher than the US. So I spent some time, trying to list the necessary desktop components and I got a nice i5 12600k + rx 6700 xt with 32 gb of ram for 1300€. Then, I want to seek a laptop and I found my "dream" laptop the zephyrus g14 2022. Keep in mind that I am a studying CS and I do travel a lot in a daily basis (I do not know how did I end up like this), but the portability that the g14 offers its god for me. The sad part of the story is that it costs a 1500€ for the rx6700s + ryzen 6700hs config. So right now I ended up in a situation where I want a pc to game on, and I have 2 options: get a desktop or get the zephyrus and replace my LG gram 14. I think that the desktop is the better choice overall but I do feel like that the zephyrus might do better for me. I need help to decide.

After a long couple of hours I finished my brand new build. I went and hooked it up for the moment of truth! After, 5 minutes I got no post. I tried on my other monitors that I usually use for xbox and still nothing. Also tried different cables but still nothing. I have now removed the gpu and tested with just the CPU (i5-12600kf) out put on the motherboard, I know this chip does not have any graphics but this still shouldn't keep from a post. Unfortunately, I am still not getting anything. What should I do? I spent a lot of many that I made off overtime on this. Here is my spec sheet:

Budget (including currency): RM7500-8000 Country: Malaysia Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: I currently play games like, Dota, Bioshock Infinite, God of War, Nier Automata, It Takes Two, Forza Horizon, and will mostly place games within these categories. And I use applications such as Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop quite often, but only as a hobby. I also appreciate good sound quality output from the PC, as I am also using the Logitech Z906 as my speakers now. Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): Only the PC is required because I am starting from nothing and have nothing to upgrade from, as I already a set of good speakers, mouse and keyboard (Logitech MX Masters 3S & MX Mechanical). Monitor (Viewsonic VA2932-MHD) is reasonable as well, which is not a priority. I hope that I can make a full black build, as I think that is the cleanest look for my set up. No RGB Is required. Not sure about the exact size of the PC that I need, but would definitely want something like the Fractal Torrent Nano/Compact, if possible. As the smaller size would be greatly appreciated, as real estate is slightly limited on my desk/floor. Currently, I have been running all my tasks and work on laptops, Asus GL752VW(Permanently mine), Asus FA701I(Not permanently mine) and a Macbook Pro 2020 13 Inch for work (Two Ports). And I am quite tired of the switching of everything, whenever I am doing different tasks between the two windows laptop. I actually have been wanting to have my own PC ever since I was a teenager, because I used to have my own back then, but it was shared between my brother and I, and it was placed in my living room. But ever since I have had my own room, I have just gotten laptops to save spaces, but the sound and heat dissipation is not efficient, and loud from the laptops. And is it even possible to build a PC, without the graphics card installed first, then later on, only adding one down the road, once everything else is set up in the PC itself? Would it still be functional? Any advice would be greatly appreciated, as I have been thinking about this for the longest times, but never really had the courage, as I know that PC components are really fragile, and I dont want to mess anything up. I have watched plenty of videos on youtube, but the combination of CPU, Motherboard and Graphics Card compatibilities are quite intimidating to me, as I am not sure which goes well with what without causing any bottlenecks. If are any requirements to have a look at my current set up, please just let me know, as I would be glad to share. Thanks to whoever spent their precious time in going through this and assisting me as well, it is very kind of you.

Budget (including currency): $1000-$1500 (USD), could push for more but please less than $2000 Country: United States Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Gaming (Minecraft Fortnite COD etc), Emulation of high-power consoles, constant transfer of 10GB+ files, school work, possibly streaming in the future. Windows 11. Other details: would love at least 4k 120fps if it fits in the price range, however would be glad with anything less. at least an ethernet port, usb-c, usb ports. Mic is very quiet on new pc but was just fine on old PC
Epicpieman posted a topic in Troubleshooting
So my old pc worked with my Razer Kraken 2019 headset perfectly, I had to use the splitter because it had seperate audio and mic jacks but on my new pc it has a combined audio and mic jack so I didn't need the splitter. The audio itself sounds the same but my mic is extremely quiet in comparison. And yes it is at max volume. Can anyone help? Specs: Z690 Tomahawk wifi DDR4 2 16 DDR4 ram sticks Intel 11th gen i7 NVIDIA GeForce 3060 1Tb SSD 4Tb HDD Could it be that it doesn't have a sound card? The old pc didn't have one either though. I really need to fix this issue and am coming here after trying a plethora of potential solutions. Any help would be appreciated. -
Hello, Windows is refusing to say: "OOH! This guy has a wifi motherboard! Let's try and see if there is a wifi network around here" It's an install of windows on a brand new PC, but i got Windows from another PC's hard drive that I ripped out. I used ethernet on that old PC. I don't know what to do to connect up to the internet, I'm stuck in windows 10 but without any of the apps, just download buttons and the basic icons. My motherboard is the B660M DS3H AX DDR4. I am using the included wifi antenna. HELP!

Hi guys, I need help, don't know where to look anymore. I recently built a new gaming rig, but I'm having a weird issue with the connection's upload. At first I thought it was a wifi problem, so I bought a Powerline adapter (1000 Mbs port) and connected with a Lan cable, but still, no changes. My download speed is in line with the rest of my devices, but the upload is, well, crap. It ranges from 0.6 and 1.2 Mbps, while on the rest of the house I range from 8 to 10 Mbps. Since it doesn't change from cable to wifi, I guess it's a Mobo issue, but all my drivers and bios are updated (at least those I could find). Here are my specs: Mobo: MSI pro z690-p ddr4 (non-wifi) CPU: Intel i5 12600K Ram: Corsair vengeance DDR4 2x8GB 3600Mhz GPU: Palit Nvidia RTX 3060Ti PSU: Corsair RM750W I really don't know where else to look. I hope some of you can help me. Federico

Hey so before I dump almost 2k on a new pc I wanted to let you tech-wizards check it before I mess something up. so here are my parts, nothing is ordered yet: GPU: Gigabyte rtx 3070ti "Vision" Motherboard: Gigabyte Z690 UD CPU: I5-12600k (maybe will go for the 12600kf if its availiable, which it isn't right now where I live.) Drive: Seagate FireCuda 530 1tb (m.2 go brrrrrrrrrrrr) PSU: Bitfenix whisper m80 plus gold (cheapest 850watt psu with gold efficiency where I live) Memory 32 gb of G.skill RipJaws V DDR4 (3200MHz, latencies are 16-18-18-38) (also the 32gb are more than necessary because I will use this pc mostly for dcs world where 32 gb is the bare minimum for most missions) Case: Silverstone Fara R1 with all 6 Fan slots filled (worried about GPU size, GPU is 320mm, case supports 322mm, but if it doesnt fit I will cut out a piece of the front fan bracket which isnt a big deal since the case doesnt have a glas side panel) CPU cooler: Noctua NH-U12S for that freezy breezy noctua action hehe OS: Win11 does it look alright? also does the Motherboard give off enough power to daisy-chain 3 fans off of each fan header? Thank you cuties :3

Hey guys, I recently builded a new PC. Everything worked fine, got into the bios, made a fan curve, I started the windows install but roughly at the end of the installation it turned off. I tried to turn the pc on many times, but it only lights up for about one second and then turns off. Also to get it to light up shortly I need to replug the powercable of the psu. Flipping the switch off and on will only get the same effect if I wait some time and then wait 2 seconds after I press the power button. I hope someone can help me with this problem The specs are: tried to install Windows 10 Home 64-Bit AMD Ryzen 5 5600X (CPU) Gigabyte Radeon RX 6600XT Gaming OC (GPU) MSI MPG B550 Gaming Plus (Mainboard) be quiet! Hello! My old PC broke down after a few days and I have a tight budget on a new one, ( UK ). I do not need a CPU as I already have a decent intel 7th gen and I do not need a case. Would be appreciated if could find better parts for the price, only things I would keep are the fact that the motherboard has wifi, and it has HDMI from the cpu and it has an M.2 drive slot. Many thanks - DCR!
